"Smashing it like boss b*****s…" "In spite of our complex love lives" (3x10)

This isn't really a pure Jallie storyline, but with everything that went on between the two of them in Season 3A, this is something that I wanted to write.

Between going to work, the trial, coming home to see what Gael needed, seeing Isabella, getting the call from Kathleen, seeing Jamie to ask what he knows about what the FBI has on Kathleen, Callie agreeing to be Kathleen's lawyer, learning that Kathleen did have something to do with the disappearance of the witness… It was safe to say that Callie had quite a day. Finally, Callie had gotten home to the Coterie, when she stepped into her loft, Mariana was sitting in on their green couch.

"Hey, Mariana."

"Hey. Wow, you are home late." Mariana stated looking at the time on her phone.

"Yeah, today was intense, just like yesterday."

"Yeah. The last two days have been intense." Mariana agreed

"Why was it intense for you?" They hadn't really talked since yesterday morning while they were getting ready for their days.

"Well, yesterday, we went to pitch our app, and at first the lady that heard our pitch, Jackie liked our idea and said that we were very enthusiastic about the app. I went back to speak with Vincent, someone higher up on the ladder. Then I saw Jackie. Jackie read what we did at Speckulate, you know releasing the salary information, and she told me that since we did that, our app won't be invested because we are perceived as troublemakers. Then, after I went to see Jackie, I invited the ladies over and then they wanted to sue Evan, but I told them that 'we can't because he is my boyfriend'. They seemed stunned and then they all left."

"Ohh, wow. That's a lot."

"Yeah, at least I am not hiding this big secret from them anymore."

"True, why was yesterday intense for you? How did the trial go?"

"I don't know, Kathleen got arrested by the FBI and then she told me to present the argument since I found the novel defense. Then, Jamie answered for the prosecution, so we went head to head again. Then, Jamie said that Kathleen is in a lot of trouble, I told him I wasn't interested in anything he had to say."

Callie was about to continue when Mariana let out a big sigh.

"What?" Callie said annoyed.

"Jamie has been in this business as a lawyer for a really long time. In spite of everything that has happened, it is obvious that he still cares about you. It was obvious at Brandon and Eliza's going away party, why don't you trust him?"

"Well, I was getting to that, back to my day, then Gael texted me that he wanted to talk. So, I came back here. But, when I went to his loft Isabella was there and he asked if we could talk later. So, I went to Jamie's office to ask him what the FBI had on Kathleen. As usual Jamie was right, I don't really want to get into what happened with Kathleen, but let's just say it is bad. Jamie told me weeks ago that Kathleen was being investigated by the FBI, Jamie is always trying to help me and all I do deflect when he tries to help me. I don't know why I do, but I do. I can't believe it. I told him 'I'm not interested in anything you have to say about that'. Then, when I thanked him for seeing me, he said 'of course'. He didn't seem like he didn't want to see me. He always tries to be there for me in spite of everything."

"Look, Callie, I know that you care about getting justice for people like Jerod who are in unfortunate situations and that you want to fight for social justice and change what is wrong with the system. But, I can also tell you love Jamie. I get that you don't want to compromise your morals but I think the two of you are going to need to figure this out, because I think your heart is with Jamie."

"Are you sure? Because I got a text from Gael and it actually brought me back to a conversation I had with Tony and where I said to him, 'I think my heart's just with someone else.' But, I was kind of thinking about Gael not Jamie. So, what if you were right, the day of the New Moon ceremony? What if Gael is the right guy? Like, we went to his art show together and everything. But, he set me up with his boss, Yuri"

"Callie, you are overthinking things. If you still had feelings for Gael, don't you think you would have slipped back into his loft by now?"

"MARIANA." Callie playfully scolded.

"Look, I am just saying, from what you have told me tonight, it is obvious that Jamie still cares about you, in spite of everything, and remember what I said in Turks, 'if you don't marry the brother, I will'".

"MARIANA!" Callie once again playfully scolded. Before continuing, "yeah, you are right. Jamie is the guy for me. It will just take time. Maybe, maybe Evan is the guy for you, you can't help how you feel about Evan or change how you feel because of the fight club girls."

"Yeah, you are right. I am beat." Mariana said

"Me too, let's brush our teeth and head to bed" Callie agreed.

Both Callie and Mariana went to the bathroom before they both made their way into their beds.

"Good night Callie, tomorrow we will go back to smashing it like boss b*****s."

"In spite of our complex love lives." Callie continued. Causing a laugh from Mariana.

Soon, both sisters were fast asleep preparing for what tomorrow would bring.
