A more creepy chapter! Enjoy~
Luffy and Law were way far from any prying eyes, so he could practice without looking embarrassed. He wasn't especially fast, and started to think it was because of him only using his back legs. He was lighter than anybody thought as well, only weighing 140 pounds, despite his height.
So, Luffy was teaching him how to run on all sixes. He was larger and longer than Luffy, but their body shapes were near same besides the ears. So, Luffy taught him to run. He sprinted more like a squirrel but trotted like a cat. Law was having a lot of trouble, but didn't give up. He didn't like his hands being dirty, but Luffy said he didn't need to do this before eating.
After a few hours, Law had better form, but wasn't fast at all, just practicing. They switched and Luffy practiced running on his hind legs. But that only made his lower back hurt, so they stopped doing that. Once they were taking a break and sitting against a tree, drinking juices, Luffy said he might have paralyzed Shigaraki's arms, since they knew his name now.
Despite starting a new group or organization, there had been no sightings or showings of him at all. "I did a lot of research, and I think it's possible. And he was screaming about not being able to move his arms." Law said it would be pitiful if that was the case. Getting incapacitaed at the start by a small 15 year old scratching him. Luffy laughed at the that description.
"He got maimed by a mini fluff ball," Luffy said, and Law actually laughed. "He should have left when he could, but then he came back, which was a mistake on his part." They both agreed on that. You should know when to quit.
The Sports Festival was coming up soon, and so students were already training. Luffy couldn't really help with Zoro's training of his quirk, since he was already so physically fit.
Sanji and Midoriya were fighting one another using their legs, which Midoriya used the most. But unlike Sanji, he couldn't go all out. And Sanji's kicks felt like you were being hit by a steel beam. Midoriya's was just forceful. So Luffy was training with Law. It was a nice change of pace, working with somebody different. And it was nice to hang out with somebody like him.
When the sports festival came, it did not go as planned at all.
They were all excited or afraid of what would happen, how they'd do. So, when they were on the first course, an obstacle course where any foul play was allowed as long as it stayed inside the course, Luffy was out the fastest despite people throwing all sorts of weapons from their quirks at him to slow him down.
He zoomed through the finish line and out into the grassy field, having run all the way around the exterior of the stadium. He waited, surprised when Midoriya was second, and Todoroki third. But everybody made it through the first round. Since it had been a couple of weeks since the whole drawing blood thing, they weren't wearing the necklaces anymore.
As long as they stayed on campus, that was safe. Once everybody was in the ring, even those who lost and would be exiting the competition, Luffy smelled something off, and black pits formed out of nowhere, under every single obvious or potential mutant quirk. Those that had seen the eyes, had been tagged, the blood drawn.
Screams were in the stadium as kids slipped into the hole, trying desperately to hang onto the side before it crumbled and they fell. Luffy saw Law fall in, eyes wide and shocked, like he didn't know what was happening. Luffy darted all around the grass, the holes too slow, before one giant one opened up and he inevitably fell in. he heard his friends screaming his name as he faded into the black, and all of the hole closed, leaving 50 students missing.

Luffy landed on all sixes, jarring his back. There were shouts and cries from everyone, but nobody seemed too badly hurt. It was pitch black, and only those with animal quirks could see. So ones like Ashido's or others could only see black. They could hear, but couldn't see.
He ran to Law, and asked for his other friends' names, calling them. They affirmed they were there, voices shaking. Surprisingly, it didn't echo in the pitch black. There was no entrance anymore. Pure black. Luffy latched onto Law, who just put him on his back, as they cautiously walked forward. Law didn't know if the floor would drop under him, so he went slow.
Both of their ears were twitching just a bit, listening for anything. The holes had smelled bad suddenly, but Luffy hadn't heard or seen them till it was too late. He barely made it out, but the pits were determined to have him, so here he was. There was a girl from another course with vine hair who was feeling her way along the ground.
Many chose to stay where they landed, while the rest wanted to get anywhere other than there, try and get out of the black void. When they encountered a ledge, Law stopped. Luffy got off, and peeked his head over. Nothing was there. They didn't know where it lead, or how deep. There was no light.
"Nobody come any closer, there's a big ledge," Luffy said, stopping everyone. So, they walked away from the ledge and the other direction, slowly and cautiously, those with superior senses leading them, trying to keep everybody safe. They were strangely quiet, terrified of the black around them. Nobody seemed to want to bring attention to the group.
On the other side, they reached the ledge as well. So, they walked around the circumference, which showed them they were on a pillar. The only palace to go was down. Law was unable to fly, even when he tried. It was as if gravity was keeping him on the ground. When they all finally agreed to go down, the girl with vine hair was generous enough to make ladders for them all to climb down.
Luffy climbed down on his own, worried to cut the ladders. He'd taken his gloves off for the run, and had dropped them. His fingers were daggers now, and he had to be careful. Law was fine, his were still on. Deeper they went, their ears popping as they descended.
"I see a light!" Luffy called, and there were modest cheers and sighs of relief. Anywhere other than the black was better. Luffy and Law reached the bottom first, and said that it was solid beneath them. The fifty all were staying together, close and fairly huddled. Their breathing echoed badly, more than their voices did, making it sound like they were all hyperventilating as loud as possible, even though it was the opposite.
And it wasn't just for those with better hearing, a voice asked why their breathing was so loud. And her voice wasn't as loud as the breathing, which was scary. But they continued towards the light. When they got there, it was another drop, but this time the bottom could be seen. They climbed down the same way as before. All they could do was go down. And nobody wanted to stay in the same spot, in the dark.
But when they got to a certain spot, the walls turned a sticky, clammy goo. Like mucus was sliding down it. Luffy slipped and fell, landing lightly, though. But the floor was hot. He didn't have the booties on, so he had to endure it. "Everyone, the ground it hot," Luffy said. "If you have shoes or thick feet, it probably won't hurt."
He was trying to assure everybody that things were okay. That they could beat this and stick together, but he was scared, too. He didn't want to keep going deeper. Once more people were stepping onto the hot surface, somebody was sensitive skin didn't want to touch it. "I- I'm going wait back up for help," she said, scared of burning herself.
They tried to get her to come down and stick together, but the moment she started going up, she screamed and fell. Shoji caught her, and they saw her nose was bleeding. Her eyes were foggy but then she came aware, and started crying. "What happened?" Luffy asked in shock. He didn't sense anything solid up there.
"We can't go up," she whimpered. "It gave me a terrible headache and I- I fell." Somebody who was either brave or stupid started to climb up the vines again, getting higher, but he fell back down, whimpering. His… his teeth fell out and eyes started to water badly, bulging slightly. They all promptly started screaming and getting lower to the ground. But those that had gotten lower, had to stay lower. Even if they tried standing up, they got the headache and bloody nose.
Those standing kept standing. Luffy couldn't get on Law's back again. "C'mon, maybe the next area will let us stand." Shoji was carrying the poor guy with missing teeth. He had spikes on his back, that was it. That was his quirk, it seemed. But it was noticeable, so there he was. When they reached the next place, following the dim light, there were two paths. One that went up, and one that went down.
Collectively, nobody wanted to lose their teeth, and they ventured down the steep path. But there were glowing bubbles on the ground, and Luffy did his best to not step on them. It was bright enough in there for the kids to see the bubbles and one another. They avoided them until a girl with green spots and scales dotting her skin slipped, and stepped on a bubble.
There was a loud "pop!" and everyone froze, not knowing what to expect until she started screaming her head off. "No! No, get away!" she shrieked. Luffy walked over and tried to calm her, saying there was nothing there. But she pushed him down, and there was another pop, and he knew that she had been hallucinating when he started to as well.
Shigaraki was there in front of him, decaying both of his brothers from the head upwards. It was an illusion, a fake! There was absolutely no way this was real. First of all, Ace was made of fire, he couldn't be crumbled as he was living flame. Second of all, why would they be down here, and he didn't sense it at all.
He stood up and slashed it open, another hole opening up in front of him. He stumbled to catch himself, but then fell forward when more pops went off and screaming occurred. Everybody was hallucinating something terrifying.
"Their hallucinations! Beat them! Hit them!" but some were so overcome by their hallucinations that they passed out or vomited. Law had gotten through his, and now there were a handful of those black holes in front of them. Well, Luffy wasn't going into another one. He tried to walk past it, but it was like walking into an invisible wall. He had to stay low so he didn't get hurt.
He tried clawing at it, but it stayed there. He couldn't climb up it or under it. The only place he could go was in the hole. He looked at Law, who had his hands pressed against the invisible barrier. Luffy tried to walk back up, but the wall wasn't a wall, it was a cage. Both fauptas gave a nod, and walked inside. This was when the class split up. Those who couldn't face their hallucinations continued to scream and cry, unable to listen to people try to tell them it was an illusion.
So, the braver ones made it into the next place. If this was an illusion, it was a damn powerful one. Or else where were they? How deep had they gone? Was this place really possible? Could somebody make a whole world in their quirks? Shoji was still carrying the toothless, out of it kid on his back. Luffy took Law's hand, scared about what would happen next. Their fingers didn't stab the other's hand.
The screaming of the other students disappeared, and only about 20 people were left. They didn't have any way to go back to the others. Luffy felt bad for leaving them behind, but they had to get out of here, and trying to convince them to fight back would take too long. They wanted out, wanted help and definitely not stay in the same place too long.
When they reached the next place, it was another damn drop. And they were screwed, as vine hair girl had not faced her hallucination. "How do we get down?" Ashido asked, one of those who made it. Tokoyami, Ashido, Shoji, Hagakure, Law and Luffy were the only ones in their class to make it this far.
Luffy tried to think of a way down, since they were all afraid of going up, even if the barrier wasn't there. Luffy dug his claws into the rock and had an idea. "I'll make a ladder down. I'll climb down and leave holes in the rock wall that you'll climb down. You have to be careful." Law agreed to help, and so the two made divots in the wall, the only two making their way down.
When they reached the floor, it was wet, like there was water. Luffy wanted this to be over. He wanted this to be some sick quirk, and not actually some disturbing pit somewhere. "Okay, we made it down. It seems like there's a lot of water down here," Luffy said. Law took his hand again. "Be careful, okay?"
"R-Right!" some said, and made their way down carefully. Shoji finally had to leave the toothless kid behind to climb down. Ashido made the holes wider and less jagged with some concentrated acid that evaporated before burning anybody. This made the process faster, and soon they were all down. Law caught the girl with horns from class 1-B. Any rivalry that formed in the beginning of the festival was gone. They all had to work together to make it deeper. It was nice that lights were coming from something in the water, only they saw no light source.
This whole place was very dark and claustrophobic. The dark… it was unsettling and heavy, and Luffy wanted out now.
They waded through the water, seeing deep holes in the water, and doing their best not to fall in. They went in waves so as to not bump into each other and cause a panic again, not knowing what was in the holes, or where it went. "Everyone stop," Luffy said, hearing a rumbling from below.
It went away once they stopped walking. There was something beneath them. He looked in front of them, squinting his eyes to see an exit. He took another step, and heard the rumbling. It was reacting to their steps. Not their voice. There was nothing to do. "Do you hear it?" he asked Law. he nodded. "We have to go as fast as possible," he said, and the other faupta nodded in agreement.
Luffy announced that there was something under them, reacting to their foot steps. They had to run to the exit. So they did, all of them making splashes, but not falling into the holes. Luffy heard the rumbling get louder and something screeched behind them. They started screaming, but kept running.
Once they got to the exit, nobody could stop and they all went trembling over another ledge, screaming. Luffy was trying to see what was below, but the lower they got, the more people got extremely motion sickness until many were vomiting. Then they hit the fleshy bottom of the drop. There were only thirteen left. Had they lost some to the monster? Were they… dead? Where did Ashido go? She was right with them... Luffy grabbed Law's hands tightly.
They continued forward. But they were in another cage. Luffy listened for anything, and heard voices, human voices, coming from in a hole in the ground, one filled with water. "Can anybody breathe underwater?" Luffy asked loudly.
"I-I can," a shorter boy with gills and fins on him said. He was from one of the classes Luffy hadn't seen. Luffy showed him the water hole, asking if he could check it out for them. "I… okay, I will," he said, sudden conviction in his voice. Luffy wished him good luck, hoping there wasn't some monster down there. He swam down into the hole, which could only fit maybe one large person at a time.
Luffy and Law listened, and heard him let out a breath. They had their eyes closed, focusing on their hearing. Their senses were really helpful. They were so lucky, and so was everybody else around. The boy said, "It's safe!"
Students started going down, holding their breaths and swimming as fast as they could. When it was Luffy's turn, he kept his eyes open. He more dragged himself further with his claws since his feet were useless to swim with. Just stubby feet with no real capacity to swim well. When they entered the next part, Luffy regretted going down.
The first three were frozen in place, covered in what looked like mushrooms. A figure was standing, covered in mushrooms but not seeing a person. It was Hagakure. There were spores in the air, and Luffy screamed at everybody to hurry and hold their breaths. The next hole was near, and the twelve left dove through it. Many were no longer crying, even after leaving behind their friends.
It was all about surviving now. There were no spores in the other room. They passed through something black beneath them, but they landed in what looked like a house. A nice one, with couches and carpet. Luffy slashed a pillow, but it was real, not an illusion. They saw a wall that said, "Please wait…"
Needless to say, nobody wanted to wait. This seemed like a trap. And there were barely any of them left now. Only one fourth of how many there were before. Of their class, Law, Luffy, Tokoyami and Shoji were left. The others were mostly from the other hero course class. Nobody said a thing about the missing kids.
Nobody knew if they were dead, and didn't want to think about it. They searched the walls for any exit, but there was only one door. Luffy got on the floor and looked under it. He didn't see anybody. Law tried the door, and the knob turned with a squeak. "Are we going to wait here? Or move on?" he asked.
The remaining students shared and look and decided to move on. Law pushed the door open and looked inside. They saw a hospital room, and walked inside. There were no doctors or anything. No people, no other doors. This was the final room. There was a voice over the speaker. "Welcome! The best of the best!" the male voice echoed. "You did well to survive the trial."
Luffy demanded to know if the other students were alive. "The weak were unnecessary. They are alive, yes. But not in a pleasant place. You're the best of them. The successes-" the voice echoed before fading into nothing.
Luffy's eyes opened slowly, and he realized he was uncomfortable. He was sitting in a chair, his hands and forearms strapped down to the chair. There were IV drips in his arms, the human parts. There was also a something on his head. He looked around, feeling hazy and confused. Glancing around, he saw the same students that were left before, all in their own chairs with tons of tubes in them, too.
Luffy had a breathing tube in, and then started to panic, but couldtn even move. He was so strapped down. There was somebody in front of him, unrecognizable. Luffy tried to get him away when he was sawing the sharp tip of one of his finger claws off. They were fingers to him, so that hurt really bad.
But after collecting just a little bit, it stopped. He saw Law across from him. He was in the same position. Luffy was scared, and all of the other kids were awake now, looking terrified as well. They all looked at one direction, behind Luffy. Law and Shoji were freaking out, and the smallest desperately wanted to turn around, wanting to see what was scaring them. But then he saw who it was.
The guy he'd maimed. He had scabs and scars all over his body, and his arms were limp. He was looking at Luffy with such fury. Fuck. Luffy tried pulling away, getting out. "You took everything from me," he said, voice dry and full of rage. He walked closer, and Luffy resigned to the fact he wasn't breaking out. So, he stilled and just stared Shigaraki down. This made him angrier.
Luffy was no longer showing fear. He tried talking around the tube, but it just made him gag. He wanted Luffy to be afraid. But he could see Law, looking absolutely terrified for him. He even had tears in his eyes, and was shaking his head as best as he could. There was nothing Luffy could do to try and get out.
Shigaraki definitely was unable to use his arms.
"Now, now, Tomura, he's here for a reason. You can exact revenge later," somebody said, giving Luffy terrible feelings, making his fur stand on end and blood curdle. His heart beated fasted and his breathing quickened. What was with this guy? And how was he seeing when his entire head and face was covered by metal?
What was scary about this man? What gave him this feeling? He didn't like it, wanted to get away now. "Are you all wondering why you're here?" They were unable to answer, but the twelve of them had eyes shown they wanted to know, to get it over with. "15 years ago, myself and my partner made a drug. It was to enhance quirks in the next generation. We distributed them to 32 pregnant women, waiting for this exact day. You've all been very nice lab rats," he said.
"You're the most promising of them all- you twelve. You also seem to be the only ones we've found that are connected to the drugs. So far. We'll find more. We didn't expect two of them same quirk to be created, however. That was interesting," he said, clearly referring to Luffy and Law. "This is the reason none of you have hereditary mutant type quirks." Luffy was angry. His quirk was his quirk! He was strong because he worked to be. Not drugged, not some false sense of strength.
Law looked angry as well, and the others looked confused or shocked. "We've studied you while you were asleep. You were the smartest of them, as well. Making your way through that convenient pit of hell. Quite the place, I must say. None of that was fake, our good ally brought you back. Poor Toya has lost all of his teeth and is a bit brain damaged now. A bit foolish, which was why he didn't make it this far."
Luffy's face fell. They were all dead, then. If it had been real. Those attacked by the monster… they were dead. Were Ashido and Hagakure dead, too? He felt sick, but he just wanted Law to stay alive out of all of them. He didn't want somebody just like him to die, or whatever unfortunate situation they'd be in next. Law looked the same.
"I'll continue to test on you until you're no longer useful. Then Tomura can do what he wishes to Luffy, here. You really threw a wrench into my plans, I must say. Though, he let his guard down. To be foiled by a small child like you. How shameful," he said, but didn't sound upset at all. Sounded incredibly amused.
Luffy wouldn't allow himself to die. No matter what, he wouldn't die and would not be some specimen they want to study. To use and then kill. When he left the room with a cold laugh, Luffy used all his strength, and his skin started to glow under the strap, seeming to weaken it. He ripped apart one of the restraints. He pulled the tube out, throwing up while doing so. He ripped the head gear off.
"C'mon, we're going," he said. He watched as his friends and classmates grew as determined, and the all destroyed their own restraints with slight glows that faded immediately. Like they had colorful fire in their blood. They were all a bit light headed, but were no longer trapped. When someone came in to check on them, Luffy silenced him before he said a thing.
He grabbed him and wrapped one set of arms around his throat, gagging him with the other set, hanging onto his back, strangling him. He fell to the floor, but wasn't dead. He was breathing heavily. Then Luffy looked to the door. He had to think of something else, and said they had to save the others.
"Once we're out, we'll get help," Law said, taking Luffy's hand and giving him a nod. The twelve of them crashed out of the room, using their various quirks, that glow completely gone. They knew they couldn't take that scary guy, but they had to get out.
They ran down the hall, and Luffy sniffed the air for any sign of fresh air. When they passed more people, they slammed them into walls to stop their shouting. Luffy slammed his fist into Shigaraki's face, knocking him out when he hit his head on the wall. But he felt himself growing weaker.
Based on the slowed pace, the others were feeling the fatigue as well. But they kept pushing. When they passed the hall with the bad presence there, they saw him come out of the room, and they pushed away the sudden exhaustion and ran from him. But then he was in front of them. "Where are you all going?" he asked politely.
Luffy zoomed behind him and through the halls, looking for any exit, anyone to call for help. The guy wouldn't kill his precious test subjects. He had to do what he could, and that was to get help. And he found they were under a hospital. He picked up a phone, not phased by where he was, and called 911, reporting the situation.
They said help would be on the way, and Luffy zoomed back to where they were. All of them were unconscious, but seeming to be asleep, not injured. Luffy did as he did with Shigaraki, only he was in beast form. He was slammed down, but he got back up, bouncing off of the walls before he ripped off the helmet, which had tubes in it. Maybe a life support? He crushed it to pieces.
The faceless man seemed to be angry by now, by his stance. He shot finger spikes at him, but he changed into little form again, and sliced at his neck, but it was solid. Luffy didn't stop bouncing off the walls. He went low, and sliced at his ankles and lower spine. Then he punched his crotch as hard as possible. He wasn't above dirty moves. But none had an effect, other than making Luffy tired.
He grabbed the guys face, digging his claws in. Even as he was grabbed at, he kept his arms locked around his head. He knew he couldn't win, but he wanted to stall. Even if it got him hurt, he wanted to protect his friends. His survivor partners. He was ripped at, and felt an ear rip. It made him whimper and he flew into the wall.
The end had been ripped off, but most of it was there still. He held it, shaking now, realizing he would probably die now. He cowered, finally realizing the reality of what was going to happen to him. But then the guy was shoved back a bit, Law standing up, his mouth bleeding. He must have bitten it to wake up.
Luffy was still afraid, shaking as Law ripped at his face as well. "C'mon Luffy! WE can do this! We're fauptas," he said, holding onto the man's front. Luffy nodded, eyes hardening. He grabbed onto the guy's back, ripping his shirt off. Both of their four sets of claws were tinted with his blood, the small areas they got to cut.
But a spike came from his back, and Luffy felt one of his middle arms be sliced clean off. He screamed. "Come now, I don't want to damage you two too much." He wasn't taking this seriously at all, or was pretending he wasn't. All of the attacks they'd made did nothing. He was bleeding, but it was nothing. He just sounded amused. Maybe Luffy was wrong about the life support.
Luffy and Law finally tried running, Luffy grabbing his severed arm. They zoomed down the halls and out of the hospital above. Both of them kept running until they were far from the hospital. When they stopped, Luffy said he'd called 911 and the heroes. "Th-they should be here soon," he said, gritting his teeth from the pain. Law took off his shirt and ripped it into pieces, tying it around Luffy's severed arm. He had still been able to run just fine. Most of the weight and force were used on his front arms and back legs. He was okay.
He held his bleeding ear. "It's not too bad, only the very tip came off, and its barely bleeding anymore." Luffy started to cry, and Law hugged him. The smaller said their friends were dead. And they'd left the rest. "We couldn't win against him. We tried," Law said, trying to convince him.
Luffy looked at his arm stump and held the severed one to his chest, Law wrapping a bind over the tip of that one as well. Maybe they could reattach it. They both stayed up there until a huge amount of police and heroes came. They both went out of the forest to speak to everyone, tell them how scary the bad guy was. They saw All Might there.
He was in his hero outfit… how long were they there? Surely not more than a couple hours? "Boys, who is the villain?" All Might asked, not smiling anymore. Luffy explained that he had no face and had a bunch of quirks. And that he was testing on all of them. Most of the students were gone, and they'd left their friends to get help.
"Please, save them!" Luffy begged. All Might promised he would, and multiple other heroes went forward, too. Luffy was called to a medic, and hurried over, clutching his severed arm. They were looked over, and they were pretty banged up. Had blood loss and exhaustion, along with hunger pains. Bruises were on their skin from falling and hitting thing within the void they'd lost so many in.
Please don't let them be dead. The same thought went through Luffy's head over and over. He and Law were driven to another hospital to try and reattach Luffy's arm while there was still time. When they got to the hospital, Luffy was wheeled in, and put under anesthesia as they quickly worked to reattach his limb.
He wanted to protest, telling them to help his classmates, not him. But he was out like a light as his arm was successfully reattached. He didn't even feel the leeches put on him. He was out for hours before he woke up in a room with his arm numb and resting on the bed beside him. It had bandages all over it, and then he smelled all of the others.
The scents of people he recognized were everywhere. Over twenty at least. Then did that mean they were alive? He saw Law on a nearby bed, looking up and tired. "Law," Luffy said. He sat up and hurried over. Luffy still had pain meds in him, so he was a bit loopy. "Wha- happin?" he slurred, trying to be as focused as he could be.
"Most of the students were retrieved, but in a bank parking lot. Many have broken bones or lacerations from falling. One has a bad brain injury. That one kid has permanent brain damage, the one that ascended and his teeth fell out. And lot of them are very hurt or ill. The ones that were turned into mushrooms will probably not make it out unscathed at least mentally. And others will have severe PTSD from the situation and hallucinations they were still going through when they were recovered. It had to be a real place, it couldn't all be a quirk… But we don't know where it was… Nobody does," Law explained, sounding uncertain and unnerved. Luffy asked about their friends that had made it to the end with them.
"Out of everybody, they're in the best shape." Shoji walked over, having bandages over his left arm thing. He looked exhausted. He asked how Luffy was feeling, and he said he couldn't feel his arm. "Numbing shots," Law explained. He was being so quiet, and holding Luffy's hand. Both had stoppers on the claw tips.
The smallest felt his left ear, and winced. "That was the least damaging wound. It won't grow back, and the tip was squashed. But it's not too bad." Luffy asked about their other classmates. "They're all okay except Hagakure. She was one of those that fell to the mushrooms. They're having a hard time helping her since she's invisible."
Luffy started crying, finally. He said, "It was all so scary." His voice broke and Law's face fell. "I- I tried to be brave but I was really scared." Shoji said he did an excellent job staying calm and collected. Luffy hoped they weren't just trying to make him feel better. He asked what happened to the villain.
"All Might fought with him, and he got away. Shigaraki was caught, unconscious and injured, though. Until the man, All For One, is caught, all of the last group of students will be in isolation, guarded with maximum security and supervision," Shoji explained. Then Tokoyami hurried over. He was one of the last group as well.
Luffy just noticed that there were no windows in this room, and one door that was thick. He asked where they were. "I don't know. I was asleep when we were brought here. We're underground, but we can hear others. The other students are being treated here, too, I think," Tokoyami was the one to explain. "You will make a good hero, Luffy."
He swallowed, and said that they couldn't keep everybody together. Some were dead. "Don't think about that right now. Get focused on recovery," Law said, but Luffy still had more questions. He asked what happened to the last group. When their skin started to glow. "We don't know. None of us can replicate it, it just doesn't work. I was really out of it, I can't remember what it felt like to do."
Luffy realized he didn't either. The other two also didn't remember. They were all on drugs at that point. Luffy knew he'd be having nightmares about it. All of what lead up to the waking up strapped in chairs was perfectly clear. He remembered the screaming and crying of his classmates as they hallucinated, were attacked by the water monster, infected with some sort of spore.
The smallest asked if they knew what was about his arm. He couldn't feel it, so he didn't know how bad it was. "It's been successfully reattached. It will need therapy to get better completely. Your fingers will be stiff." Luffy asked if it would work like it used to. "The doctor said it should. And you don't really use that hand for anything complicated," Law encouraged.
Luffy was glad about that. He used it to carry things and basic movement. He was glad it wasn't one of his front arms. He smiled in a dopey way. "At least I have three other arms." Law let out a small smile when the others kind of couldn't. Shoji had a mask on and Tokoyami had a beak. "We made it," he sighed.
"We missed the first mess. We were major players in the second," Shoji said with a sigh. They told him they hadn't been gone a few hours, but two days. They had been strapped down for only a small sliver of that time. In the pit, time worked differently, or at least seemed to do so. He would ask about how that was all possible at another time. He felt sleep calling him, and he drifted off.
I think you can see the influence in this chapter of Made in Abyss manga/anime. If you thought this chapter was disturbing at all, I think the future one will be much worse lol. Yeah, League of Villains was offed pretty easily. Poor Luffy, though. :(
