Asuna's POV
Asuna and Ichigo had left the school dorm and walked into town.
"So, where to?" Ichigo asked.
"To the grocery store." Asuna replies calmly.
"I thought we were going to lunch?"
"We are, but we got to the supplies to make lunch."
"Oh, I guess so."
"You don't think I can make lunch?" Asuna asked, a bit threating.
"No. No, I definitely didn't mean that. I'm just saying, anything I eat is kinda bland compared to what my little sister makes. Best cook I've ever met" Ichigo replied.
"Well, it'll be up to you how you feel about the food I make for you. But, I'll have you know, everyone I make food for, says they love it." Asuna said, a bit cocky.
They entered the grocery store and Ichigo grabbed a shopping basket.
"Well. what are we looking for?" Ichigo asked.
"What are you in the mood for?" Asuna replied.
He's actually a lot more polite than I thought. Maybe I was wrong to judge him at first.
"Well, I'm not very picky, so how about we have your best. Since you're confident in your skills." Ichigo said, daringly.
Asuna smirked. "You asked for it. Don't come back asking me for more sandwiches."
Later back at the dorm room...
"Well, here's your sandwich. Enjoy!" Asuna said, smiling.
She had no idea what is was, but she really did feel comfortable around Ichigo. Like he wasn't threating or gave off a bad demeanor.
She turned and looked at Ichigo, who looked so serious for someone taste testing some food.
Asuna was trying not to laugh, but it came through anyways.
"What?" Ichigo said. A bit annoyed.
"It's just, your face. You look so, I don't know, concerned? About a sandwich. Concerned about a sandwich."
Ichigo let a breath and said "Well, I can't lie, this sandwich is probably-"
"Probably?" Asuna said, cutting him off.
"Okay, the best sandwich I've ever had." Ichigo said emphasizing his words.
After a bit more of sitting around and finishing up eating Asuna got back up and back to unpacking.
"But, it's not the best thing I've ever eaten. Yuzu can cook up a mean curry." Ichigo interrupted, purposely trying to get under her skin.
"Is that so? I'll remember that." Asuna said replying.
"Yuzu, is that your sister?" Asuna asked.
"Mmmm." Ichigo replied, while gulping down some water.
Asuna turned back around and opened a box that was labeled "K&A". Knowing what it meant, she opened it smiling. She found her AmuSphere and under it a large photo album.
Ichigo's POV
Damn...that sandwich probably the best food I've had in a while.
Ichigo looked around the dorm. It wasn't a complicated dorm room. Walking in through the door, to the left was a dining table and behind it was a stove. Going past the table to the left, there was a small breakfast bar in front of the kitchen area and a hallway continuing in that same direction. At the end of the hallway, the path split into two. A room on each side, joined by a bathroom in the middle. Finally, right past the breakfast bar was the living room.
Ichigo looked at the things Asuna was pulling out and looked at how she was reacting. He was trying to figure out what kind of person she was. Not in a perverted or weird way, but just so he doesn't cross a line that he shouldn't.
Ichigo cleared his throat and said, "Whose that in the picture?" While pointing at the picture of a guy in black and Asuna under a tree on a sunny day.
"That's my boyfriend. His actual name is Kirigaya Kazuto, but my friends and I call him Kirito, because of his username in a game we all play." Asuna replied, while smiling softly.
"Does he attend this school?" Ichigo responded.
"No, he went to a school in America for software programming. He went with another one of our friends. Her name is Asada Shino, but her alias is Sinon."
Ichigo could tell these people she was explaining to him, were important to her. Just like those he left back at home. His mind started to wander, kind of zoning out Asuna.
What are they up to? Ishida? Inoue? Chad? Keigo? Tatsuki? He wondered if they were thinking about him. Was it weird that he felt a little lonely and left out from his friends? This truly was a place were he had no alliances, but neither did he have any enemies either.
Ichigo shook his head and zoned back into what Asuna was talking about.
"-and this is Klein and Agil. I met Klein with Kirito in on a certain floor and I met Agil in his shop."
Ichigo was a bit puzzled. "What do you mean certain floor and shop? What kinda of game were you playing?"
Asuna turned her head and asked "You've never heard of Sword Art Online?"
"Ummm...I've been pretty busy these past few years and haven't got to keep up with the video games recently." Ichigo said.
"The VR game?"
Ichigo still was lost.
What does VR even mean?
"Well, it'd help if you explained what VR meant." Ichigo said, a bit confused.
"It means virtual reality. You never heard of the all the people getting stuck inside of a game that if they died in the game, they died in real life?" Asuna replied.
"I-uh...I think I heard about it over the news once or twice." Ichigo said, still a bit hesitant.
"Well, we all met there. And we met Sinon in another game called Gun Gale Online. And recently, we made a new friend named Alice. She this world's first AI."
"You mean the blonde girl they've been all over the news about?"
"Yes, her. Kirito dove into that world and helped keep it from falling apart and falling into a military organization's hands. Kirito was also the Savior of SAO. Along with apprehending the real world killer in GGO. And many more feats." Asuna explained, a bit excited.
Ichigo a bit confused with all the names, acronyms, and things she was talking about.
"That's cool and everythi-"
A hollow roar shot through the skies
Ichigo shot his head in the direction of the roar and turned back and looked at the window. He was about to make a move for the window then he remembered Asuna.
"What's wrong?" Asuna asked.
"N-n-nothing. I just thought I heard something, that's all." Ichigo said frantically.
Ichigo looked at his watch and it read 1623.
Ichigo turned to her and said "Well, Asuna I-uhh...I gotta go for my evening run, so I'll beb back in like an hour or two." All while making his way to the door.
