CHAPTER SIX
Isabelle POV
I headed in the direction Cass had told me the bedrooms were located. The image of one of the men at the table was burned into my brain. The same shade of brown hair as mine. Candy apple green eyes that matched the green rimming my pupils. Although I hadn't heard a name, I knew that he was my father. It didn't take long to find the rooms. Most of the doors were open, vacant. There were two that were closed. I assumed those two were the rooms occupied by my father and the other man Cass was talking to.
Curious, I peeked my head into one of them. It was fairly plain, and looked almost identical to the other rooms I had passed. The bed sat in the center perpendicular to the door. There were cream colored cases on the pillows and it's red spread hadn't been made. To the left was a dark wooden wardrobe and to its right was a matching desk. I walked over to the desk and examined a few of the items there. It was mostly newspaper clippings and other documents about weird happenings in different areas of the country. There were also a few pictures.
I picked up one of a family. They were all smiling. The man had dark hair and stubble on his chin. His hand was on a young boy's shoulder. The boy had brownish-blonde hair in a bowl cut and bright green eyes. The woman had slightly wavy blonde hair and was holding a baby.
"That picture is from a very different time," a voice said behind me.
I turned to see a tall man with long, shaggy hair and dark hazel eyes.
"I'm the baby," he nodded at the picture. "My name's Sam."
"Isabelle," I said quietly, putting the picture back on the desk.
"Nice to meet you. Let's find you a room of your own."
I followed him out of the room and back down the hall into the empty one to its left that wasn't occupied. Sam stayed in the doorway as I put my backpack down on the bed.
"Whose room was that?" I nodded in the direction of the room we had just left.
"Dean's. My older brother."
My father...
I nodded my head, playing with the zipper on my bag.
"Where's Cass?"
"He, uh, had to take care of something really fast. He said he'd be back to make sure you had settled in as soon as he could."
I nodded again, chewing on my lip.
"Well, um, I'm going to be in my room if you need something, alright?"
He turned to leave.
"Hey, Sammy?"
He looked at me, a smile tugging at the corners of his lips.
"Yeah?"
"Thank you."
"Of course, kid. I'll let you settle in."
