After the guys went back to the castle, Past Meggy didn't seem to be that sad anymore. Her face lightens up as she rushed to hug Desti. 'I can't believe you are here!' She shouted, 'I really missed you!' Desti hugged her tightly too, and asked, 'What happened to you? You look different!' 'I turned into a human after you were stabbed by False Sephiroth. The Ink Zuccer 2000 sucked all of my ink and that's why,' answered Past Meggy.
Desti became curious and asked, 'What happened? There must be a plenty of thing for me to know!' 'Well, things changed a lot,' said Past Meggy, 'First of all, I won Splatfest, and you in your ghost form congratulates me. That makes me think that this was the last time I can see you, but you proved me wrong. Of course I was happy about that…' 'And long story short, SMG3 returned and tried to delete us all, but we beat him and he was sent to the Internet Graveyard.' added Past Mario. 'Can you please tell me the whole story?' Asked Desti. Mario agreed and told her what happened in the YouTube arc.
'Well, that's a lot,' exclaimed Desti. 'Yes, and I'm glad that you came back,' said Meggy. 'However, I can't stay with you forever like this. Actually, I'm from the future and knew what happened if Mario went back to the past,' Desti sighed. 'Wait, what? Mario was planning to go back to the past?' Asked Meggy with a confused look. Desti then told her how Mario was deleted and how she and Luigi came.
'Now, I know everything, but how can I be happy without you?' Asked Meggy. Knowing her (best) friend may not return, she bursted into tears. Desti tried to comfort her and said, 'There, there. Take a deep breath.' Meggy did what Desti said, and she calmed down, although she was still sobbing.
Desti then continued, 'Buddy, it's okay to be sad, but not all the time. Even you are going through your hardest times, or getting over your sorrows, I'm always with you. No matter if I am alive or not. Always remember that.'
Meggy was quite inspired from that, and hugged Desti tightly. 'Thanks, Desti,' said Meggy. The octoling was happy that her frown was turning into a smile, and said, 'Your welcome. And by the way I need to leave now.' Meggy felt better as she waved happily when she said 'Goodbye' to Desti. With a smile Desti went back in the time machine.
