It was early in the morning when Alfred heard the bell of the Manor.

Who could come to visit so early in the day?

Looking through the camera, he saw that it was a young woman with a little boy. Alfred sighed. He used the intercom.

"Wayne residence, what can I do for you, ma'am? "

"Hello, Mr. Pennyworth, I presume? I'd like to speak to Mr. Wayne if I may. I have something very important to ask him. "

"I'm sorry, ma'am, but Mr. Wayne is currently unavailable. If you wish I can give you the number of his secretary who can make an appointment for you. "

"Oh... I'm sure his patrol last night was indeed trying. It was Scarecrow who escaped this time if I'm not mistaken. "

Alfred remained silent for a moment.

"Look, I don't enjoy being here any more than you do. I really need to talk to Mr. Wayne and I can't wait. So, I'll give you a choice: You let me talk to him now, or tomorrow the whole world will know who the Knight of Gotham is. The choice is yours, sir. "

Alfred had no choice now but to go wake Bruce up. He didn't know why this young woman was in such a hurry, but he couldn't afford to let someone who knew Bruce's secret slip away.

Bruce was really tired. It had been a very long night. He had only had one or two hours of sleep in all. It was then that Alfred decided to come and get him.

"Sir, I'm sorry but we have a surprise guest. She demands to speak with you now. "

"Can't it wait until tomorrow? "

"This young lady knows, sir. "

This alerted Bruce immediately, who had no choice but to get up. To go and greet this "guest".

He was surprised to see such a young woman. But his gaze was especially drawn to the little boy beside her. This little boy looked like two drops of water to a person. A person he knew very well.

One of his sons.

"Madam, I don't believe we have met before? "

"Hello, Mr. Wayne. I'm sorry to come and bother you now, but I hope you can help me. "

She held out her hand. Bruce stepped forward and shook her hand. His gaze returned to the little boy.

"His name is Hugo. Say hello, darling. "

"HI! "

Miss Dupain-Cheng got right to the point. She explained that three years ago she had met Jason. They had spent several nights together, then suddenly Jason disappeared overnight. She looked for him everywhere and learned that he had left. It was very painful for her, but it was something that unfortunately happened.

Some time later, Marinette discovered that she was pregnant. She tried to find Jason. On her way to the hotel where he was staying, she learned that he had left a phone number. She managed to get it and tried to contact him.

Marinette had a program that recorded all her conversations on her phone. She told Bruce that she had this software since someone had tried to slander her to her friends and family when it was the person who had threatened her by phone.

She then played the recording for him.

In the recording, Marinette told Jason that she was pregnant and asked him to take responsibility. Jason simply told her that it wasn't his problem and that she should take care of herself.

Bruce recognized Jason's voice. He was genuinely shocked. Bruce didn't think Jason was the type to back down like that. Even if he hadn't wanted to have a child with this young woman, he could have at least taken responsibility and provided the mother and child with a decent living situation!

Marinette explained that she had no intention of reconnecting with Jason, however, little Hugo was sick. He was suffering from heart failure. Marinette could not afford to pay for his surgery or the treatments that went with it.

She then explained that she knew about him completely by accident.

"We've met before, sir. You went as Batman to Paris once, with Robin. You saved the lives of a couple of bakers. "

"I remember. "

"They were my parents. "

"Hm."

"That day when I was scared, Robin held me and told me everything was going to be okay. He had started doing somersaults in front of me to make me stop crying. I have never forgotten that scene. It turns out that two years ago, I was in New York to help with a fashion show. There was an attack during the show. That day Nightwing was there. In the panic I was separated from my son. I found him some time later with Nightwing. Eventually I had to place an order for your family Mr. Wayne, and there was a picture to help identify who each suit belonged to. It turns out that my son recognized Mr. Grayson as Nightwing. Everything else was not hard to guess. "

Marinette had a friend named Nadja Chamack who was a journalist. She had many contacts, including Lois Lane, who after hearing the story agreed to help. She was greatly shocked to find that the "Jason" she was looking for was none other than Bruce's son. Marinette traveled from Paris to Metropolis and stayed with Lois. Then she went to Gotham.

"I see. "

That would make things easier in a way. Bruce first wanted to make sure that this child was Jason's, after all, just because a child looks like someone doesn't mean that person is necessarily the parent.

Marinette agreed without flinching. She had expected it.

The results came quickly: Jason was indeed the father of little Hugo.

Bruce tried to call Jason, but he hung up on him. He reluctantly had to wake up his other sons to go get Jason, by the scruff of the neck if necessary.

If he went himself, he might do something he'd regret later.

"Jason, you need to come to the Manor, now! "

It was very early in the morning, and Jason had only had to sleep for 3 hours that day, so he was not in the mood. So he decided to ignore Bruce's call. It wasn't the first time anyway.

Alas for him, less than an hour later he heard a knock on his door. Jason once again decided to ignore it. Less than five minutes later, he heard the front door open. The only people who could do that to his door were his family members.

Jason let out an exasperated sigh. He got up and went to meet the unwanted guest in his home.

It was Dick and Tim. They both looked at him with a certain coldness. It was strange, they had parted on good terms only a few hours ago. What was their problem?

"You need to come to the manor, now."

"Are you serious right now? Can' t wait until later..."

"Jason. "

Dick had cut him off curtly. Jason began to feel a great sense of annoyance come over him. Before he could respond, Tim spoke up.

"Something's happened at the Manor. Something that concerns you directly. We need you to come over urgently. "

Jason sighed. He went to change and about ten minutes later he was ready.

"Are you going to tell me what's going on? "

" ... I'm not sure you deserve to know. "

"Dick! "

"What?"

"Look Jason... did you... Did you meet someone three years ago? "

Jason was genuinely dumped. He didn't know why Dick seemed so upset with him. Tim's question didn't really make sense either.

" Someone? Three years ago? Timbo, you'll have to be more specific than that, I run into people all the time..."

Tim sighed in exasperation.

"You know what, it's easiest if you see for yourself. "

They soon arrived at the Manor. Alfred came to greet them. When he saw Jason, he gave him a disapproving look. This was seriously starting to piss Jason off. What was wrong with everyone? What had he done now to turn everyone against him?

Jason realized what the problem was when he arrived in the reception room of the manor and saw a young woman. She had a little boy in her arms. In that moment, he felt the blood in his veins freeze. He stared at the little boy in front of him. He had black hair with a white streak down the front and green eyes. Jason felt like he was looking at a miniature version of himself. He then looked up at the young woman standing before him. She was looking at him with a poker face. She didn't greet him, but the first words she said to him were:

"You believe me now? "

Jason honestly didn't know what to say.

"Dada! "

The little boy came against him and hugged his leg.

Jason remembered her very well. He had met her in Paris during one of his excursions with Roy. The young man had spent his week with a young Parisian woman he had met on the terrace of a restaurant.

Marinette Dupain-Cheng.

She had indeed called him some time after he left Paris to tell him that she was pregnant. However, she and Jason had only spent three nights together. So he had a hard time believing her and told her not to contact him again.

Jason couldn't believe that Marinette was telling the truth and that she was now coming to him for accountability.

Then he noticed that Bruce was there, looking at him in anger. Cass, who was sitting a little farther away, nodded her head from side to side in disapproval. Only Damian looked at him with an amused expression.

Jason knew it, he had screwed up.
