The Binder

author's note: hey everyone how are you… are you ready for summer. If this is posted when I planned it to be then the tuesday before Last was star wars day… may the fourth be with you. I wish to say thank you to everyone who has reviewed on this story… especially Mezentsevmicheal, Djinn, and chance g green king who have never missed a chance to give me praise and constructive criticism… you guys are the bomb. I will tell you this if you think Eda is bad towards Lukas… wait until Lilith learns about him… sparks will fly.
Chapter 7: Covention
Lukas thumbed through the good witch Azura book one. He tried his hardest to read through the series but Lukas was never a fantasy guy. He preferred urban fantasy because it had a basis in real life but even then he only read a couple books a year. Compared to his sister who was a frequent visitor to the library both at school and in town.
This book though was interesting enough and after all Lukas had listened to all the songs on his mp3 and was bored so he has taken to reading.
Meanwhile Luz was reading out loud to King annoying Eda who was trying to get the stand ready.
"Emboldened by the dishonor Hecate showed, Azura raised her staff to the cotton candy skies. "I challenge you to a witches duel" she said. And look, I did a little illustration on the corner." Luz then flipped the page showing her flip book of pages.
"Can you stop reading that junk. It's scaring away all our serious customers." Eda said.
"Uh Eda, what customers?" Luz asked looking around at the empty bazaar.
"Yeah, in case you haven't noticed. There is nobody here!" King exclaimed. "Now keep reading Luz, I've been sucked into your weird fandom."
"Whatever this is… I don't like it. It must mean something terrible is gonna happen."
"Luz something wonderful is gonna happen." Willow exclaimed from the distance running up to the stand.
"Yeah, it's the annual covention. Where young witches go to try and find out which coven they might fit in before they have to choose." Gus added showing a flier.
"Whoa, it's like a job fair for witches! Eda we have to go!"
"Forget it. I don't need you listening to that brainwashing. Covens are just a way to oppress and wring the individuality out of any potentially unique witches… no offense." she said the last bit to Willow and Gus who looked at her confused. "Besides I haven't been to a covention since we were girls."
"We?" Luz asked.
"Never mind, besides Lukas and you need to stay hidden. Remember what happened last time you went into witch stuff. You almost got dissected and Lukas was recruited to Hexside. Without my permission I might add." she said glaring at Lukas.
"I said I was sorry." Lukas mumbled under his breath.
"Uh huh, doesn't mean I'm still not miffed that you are making decisions without me." Eda replied glaring at Lukas.
This time Lukas glared back and felt a little twinge of angry when he saw that once again Eda was being hard on him.
"Don't look at me like that Lukas. You're making me uncomfortable." Eda watched the rage flash in the boys face and didn't like how the normally docile teen was showing more back bone then a stegosaurus.
"Like what? Like you're some kinda criminal? Well between the two of us, I'm the one in the right when I give you that look… but whatever." Lukas returned to his reading feeling great that he finally stood up for himself. But he also felt a deep lump in the pit of his stomach.
Eda was taken aback by the brash attitude of the boy who just last week apologized three times for breaking her vase by accident.
"Anyway Eda, we are going to the covention." Luz said trying to cut past the tension.
"Oh yeah? And how are you going to make me?" Eda replied cocky.
"King…" Luz handed him her Azura book and as if on cue he began reading.
"And thus did Azura say "you shalt doeth no more harm." Hecate screeched, screeched did she." he read in a theatrical tone.
"So flowery, so awful." Eda opened her portal to the human realm and walked through it.
Luz threw King in the portal while he was still reading.
A few moments later Eda walked through with King on her head. "End this! Please, I'll do anything to make this stop."
Luz pumped her fist in the air and smiled.

The Owl Lady and her group stood in line as Eda was getting her cowl on… Luz was bouncing up and down while Lukas tried to get Eda's hair under the cowl.
"You know you could help, sis?" Lukas said once again the hair fell out of the cowl, "And can you hold still!? This is hard enough."
Luz noted that this was strange because Lukas never raises his voice not even to their bullies. "Why are you so grouchy Lukas, this is great. We will get to see more of witch culture."
"Yeah, right now I'm trying to see less of witches. Eda do you even need this cowl… because getting it on is freaking impossible."
"In case both of you have forgotten I am kind of a… how do you say it… wanted criminal!" Eda exclaimed grabbing a wanted poster from the pillar next to her.
"Trust me we know… remember that bounty hunter last week?" Luz asked.
"And the one before that?" Lukas added.
"And the biweekly visits from the guards on the weekend? Can't forget those." King said.
"Nuts to all of you… go have fun… if you can call it that." Eda huffed after Lukas finally got her cowl on.
"Alrighty then… let's go!" Willow said taking Luz's hand.
The four teens ran into the main hall and were greeted by hundreds of stands lined up.
"Whoa, was I ever alive before now?" Luz said her eyes big and wonder-filled.
Lukas looked around and for some reason he felt even more uneasy then he usually was. Why do I feel like something terrible is gonna happen?
Lukas looked around and saw the many different covens trying to bring in members for their group.
Meanwhile Luz was following close behind the group listening to Willow list off the other covens while Eda grumbled.
"Let's see there is big cat coven, small dog coven… and the grumpy coven." Willow whispered the last bit to Luz.
"What was that!?" Eda exclaimed making Gus, Luz, and Willow chuckle.
"Oh look, the construction coven." Willow said pointing to a muscular man in a construction uniform. He places a strange paper glyph on his arm and lifts a pile of materials and throws them forming a house as they land.
"Those power glyphs are what they use to enhance their magic." Willow explained.
"Yowza-wowza." Luz said not noticing a blue version of herself appear behind her.
"Yowza-wowza." the duplicate said.
Luz surprised looked at the illusion with amazement.
"I see you've been taken in by the allure of thee illusion coven… we use magic with a little flair." Gus said throwing glitter in the air.
"Wow, camaraderie, magic, a sense of belonging. Covens are awesome!" Luz exclaimed as she turned her head to Eda. "Why did you never join one Eda?"
The owl lady sighed "Watch very closely kid." she pointed to a kid at the illusion stand as he was getting some kinda tattoo. "Now that kid will only be able to cast illusion spells. Me on the other hand I can use every kind of magic." the Owl Lady then summoned both fire and ice in each arm.
"Yeah but you still live in a shack in the middle of the woods where as most coven members with your power are extremely wealthy and eat gourmet meals all week long. Where as we had leftovers from three days ago." Lukas said pushing past Eda.
"You got a problem with me? If so then say it." Eda said grabbing Lukas's shoulder.
"You first." Lukas replied not even looking at her.
"Listen to me I don't know you. So I'm going to assume you're having an off day and aren't trying to upset me… because if you were I'd put you in your place."
Lukas turned to face her and leaned in close to glare into Eda's Terrified face. "You'd die trying." he chuckled and walked off "Don't wait up Owl Lady I'm going to see what real witches have to offer." Lukas walked off and when he was out of sight he felt his heart beat faster and the fear of god enter his soul. "Why did I say that? What's wrong with me?"
He knew that he was upset with Eda after the way she treated him since he got here. It was irritating how she was always watching him like he was a bomb, he was the one who had to do the hard chores, he was the one who was asked when things went missing, and he was the one who was never allowed to leave the owl house alone without an escort unless it was on an errand… "why does she treat me like this… what did I ever do to her?"

Meanwhile back at the stand Luz was beside Eda. "he's never acted like that before. You think it's a cry for help?" Luz asked, worried for her brother.
"Oh he'll be crying for help alright." Eda said growling at what Lukas had said to her. "how dare that boy talk back to me when I've let him stay in my home. I'm gonna tear him limb from limb."
"Uh Eda to be fair, you kinda brought this on yourself." Luz piped up.
"What!? What did I ever do to him?" Eda asked glaring at her students.
"Well for starters you've always been suspicious of Lukas, watching him out the corner of your eye. You make it him do the hardest chores, never let him leave the owl house by himself except on errands, and for some reason he feels like you hate him because you act like you don't trust him."
Eda realized what she had done oh how stupid I've been. She thought it wasn't Lukas fault with what happened during the war. "You're right kid, I have been too hard on him… Go find your brother and I'll apologize."
"Okay, I'll find him." Luz ran off with Gus and Willow to find Lukas.

Meanwhile Lukas was stomping through the convention hall. He noticed that King had hands full of stuff from the covention and was walking with glee.
Lukas was angry and he knew why. Even in this magic world he felt like he didn't belong. Luz loved it of course but he hated how he didn't feel safe. How he was sleeping in the house of a woman who outright didn't like him and he didn't know why.
Lukas walked down the covention and bumped into someone.
"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry." Lukas tried to help her up but she slapped his hand.
"Watch where you're going nitwit. Oh Lukas it's you." Amity said getting up by herself. "What are you doing here? You looking into covens to join?"
"Uh my dad's hired a magic teacher for me a while back and she wanted to come here. How are you?" Lukas was trying to be cool in front of Amity and he didn't know why. Ever since he had dinner at the mansion he was feeling funny.
"I'm fine, how are you?" She asked with a chuckle.
"I'm good, real good… sorry I've been talking for way too long." he said trying to back away.
"okay, what's wrong… you're acting weird… weirder then usual." Amity glared at him and surveyed his reaction.
"it's nothing… it's just… my magic teacher isn't what I expected."
"What do you mean?"
"Well she's always watching me… looking for mistakes… it's like she doesn't trust me at all."
"I get what you mean. My mom is the same way."
"Yeah and the worse part is my sister is always given favorable treatment by her. It doesn't help that Luz likes this place more then I do."
"I didn't know you had a sister? Is she adopted too?"
"Y-yeah, I guess I forgot to mention her." Lukas breathed easy after his lie… he forgot that the only time Amity had seen his sister was when she was an abomination.
"Well my older siblings get better treatment from my parents too."
"I guess us younger siblings need to stick together."
"I guess so."
Lukas looked at Amity and his heart beat faster "Amity?"
"Yeah Lukas?"
"I like you… a lot."
Amity immediately went red and turned her head. "I-i, what do you mean?"
"I don't know it's just when I'm with you… it seems all my problems go away."
"Yeah, whatever Lukas. Nice joke." Amity jabbed his arm. "we're only pretending to date remember… besides I barely know you."
"Okay, I'm sorry Amity." Lukas had to fight the urge to hit himself due to how forward he was. Of course she doesn't want anything to do with him. She's a beautiful witch prodigy and he's just… adopted.
"It's fine Lukas. I'm sure you'll find someone who can appreciate you… but that's not me." she said scratching the back of her neck.
"Lukas, there you are." Luz called from the distance making her way to her brother from the crowded hall. "Hey, who is that you're with…?" she asked making her way to the crowd.
"Wait that voice… where have I heard it from before?" Amity asked pondering.
Oh crap. Lukas thought sparks are about to fly.
Out of the crowd came Luz who bumped face first into Amity. "oh sorry, hey it's you Amity… nice to meet you I'm Luz."
"You! You're Willow's abomination… the one who stole my badge from me. You're Lukas's sister?"
"Adopted sister. But yes, I love him more than anything." Luz wrapped her arm around Lukas's neck. "Baby bro are you trying to get yourself a girlfriend… mom is gonna be so happy to know… we always thought you were not gonna find someone." she said teasing him.
"Lukas." Amity said her voice barely under a growl. "The reason you tried to keep Willow safe was to help your sister?"
"Yes, but what's it matter? you got you're badge back." Lukas replied.
"It matters because you lied to me! I thought you were different then most witches but you're just like the rest of my so called friends. You're just as conniving and cruel. Always trying to get your own agenda through no matter who it hurts."
"Whoa, Amity, Lukas is not like that. He's sweet and kind… to the point of being naive. He would never betray your trust."
"Shut up human! You shouldn't be here… neither of you should. This covention Is for real witches."
"For you're information Amity i am training to be a real witch. With a powerful teacher and fearsome king of demons."
Amity looks over Luz's shoulder where king was walking with towns of stuff eating cupcakes.
"Snacks in my tummy-tum makes the King say yummy-yum." he cheerfully sang taking another cupcake in his mouth.
"Is that your fearsome king of demons?"
Luz looked back and meet king's eye.
"Hey Luz look at all these offerings." King bolted toward Luz and slipped on his scarf, falling face first on the ground dropping his 'offerings'
"King are you okay?" Luz went to help the creature up after that she went to pick up his cupcake. But then a boot came slamming down on the cupcake.
"That was an accident." Amity replied coldly.
"Amity, why would you do that?" Lukas asked.
"What do you care Lukas? You got what you wanted from me."
"Why are you so mean?" Luz exclaimed.
"Because you and your pet give witches a bad name… now go before you get hurt."
"I'm not a pet!" King exclaimed.
"He is a good boy and the king of demons."
"Whatever just go." amity walked away.
"You know what Amity? I hereby challenge you!" Luz yelled.
"Luz no. This isn't worth the risk." Lukas said trying to talk his sister out of it. He had fought Amity twice and both times he got lucky with the demons interference.
"Says you… Luz avenge my honor!" King exclaimed.
"Did I hear you correct. You think you can challenge… fine then it's on." Amity stuck out her hand.
Luz took it and was surprised by Amity forming a spell circle.
"What are the terms?" Amity asked.
"if I win you have to apology to King and say that humans can be witches."
"And when I win you and your brother have to agree to stop learning magic forever."
Luz gulped and looked back at Lukas who was trying to get her to reconsider by shaking his head. But she then looked at King who was crying over his cupcake. "Deal."
"See you in the battlefield human." Amity said walking off from Luz.
"What were you thinking!?" Lukas exclaimed grabbing Luz by the shoulder. "Do you have a death wish!?"
"Lukas I had to stick up for king… she was bullying him."
"She stomped a cupcake! Big deal! Luz, she is going to kill you." Lukas was having a huge head ache he was getting angrier and he felt stronger which meant the form was coming upon him.
"Lukas, what's wrong with you?" Luz asked concerned for her brother. The look in his eye was one of barbaric rage.
"What's wrong with me? Nothing! I am fine. It's you who needs help. You're in deep trouble you do understand that don't you?"
"Lukas, you don't believe in me. Do you?"
"No Luz, I don't. Because you haven't shown me that you can be anything more then a liability." Lukas responded the anger leaving him but was easily replaced with a cold-hearted demeanor.
Luz began tearing up and slapped Lukas. "You've changed Lukas… you used to be so kind and sweet but now you're acting like a jerk!" Luz ran away with King following close behind.
The creature then walked back to Lukas and looked at him with a smirk. "you know, that was pretty stupid of you. You should trust Luz more. Especially when she is defending the honor her king."
"What?" Lukas replied.
"You could learn a thing or two from her about being a good minion for the king of de–"
Lukas grabbed king by the throat strangling him.
"L-Lukas i-i can't breath… stop, please." He choked out.
"Listen to me you fell creature. You are not a king of anything. You are a pet, a worm that the Owl Lady keeps because she pities you. If Luz wants to baby you that is fine but I won't. I want you to know if anything happens to Luz then they will never find your body." Lukas said his voice calm and methodical.
King felt his aura and was terrified as he was slowly losing consciousness.
"Understand?" Lukas looked king in eye and the creature saw Lukas pentagrams were back.
"Yes, please let go." King choked out.
"Good," Lukas dropped the tiny creature as it gasped for air. Lukas walked to find Luz and try to help her… but first he needed to calm down.
Lukas found Luz crying in the corner. He made his way toward her.
"go away!" she said through her sobs.
"Luz, I'm sorry."
"You don't understand Lukas… I have watched you grow since we were eight. You were always nice and sweet even when you were being bullied. But now you are aggressive and mean. Getting into fights and siding with a bully. I don't like seeing what you've become since we got here"
Lukas sat next to her "I know… and it scares me too. I told you so but I guess you now see why."
"Tell me, what has happened to you?"
"These scars… they… mean something. I don't know what they mean and what is going to happen in the future. But I know it doesn't matter… if I don't have you Luz." Lukas placed his hand on her shoulder. "Forgive me, I don't want to hurt you… I don't want to lose you"
Luz hugged her brother "We'll get over this… I love you Lukas."
the boy returned the embrace tears streaming from his face as he returned her embrace. "I love you too Luz."
"How are we gonna beat Amity?" Luz asked.
"As much as it pains me I guess we'll have to talk with Eda."
"You should give her a chance. I told her she was being too hard on you." Luz said rising with her brother.
"I'll take your word for it." Lukas lifted Luz and the two humans ran to their teacher.

Meanwhile Eda the Owl Lady was fuming. On the one hand she was told off by a brat with more power then sense. On the other she had been a little too cold with the brat since he came here. His sister was a good egg and so was he… to a degree. But Eda couldn't forget the past… but could she forgive this boy or should she hold him guilty for crimes he didn't commit… it was stupid!
"Why am I getting hung up on two humans of all things. Even if Luz makes me laugh sometimes and Lukas is really good at running errands. Gah, I need to apologize to Lukas and I hate it."
"Sister?" A familiar voice asked from behind a crowd of people.
"Oh great it's Lilith." Eda turned her head and saw Lilith surrounded by her fan club.
"It really is you… what are you doing here? This could only mean… you're here to join the emperor's coven!" she exclaimed.
"Not a chance… mind dismissing your fan club… if you wanna talk I don't want a crowd."
"Of course! Children, we will talk more later." She said in that sickening sweet tone.
"Yes miss Lilith." they said in unison dispersing immediately.
"If you're not here to join the emperor's coven, then why are you here?" she asked.
"I just had to see my big sister." Eda responded sarcastically as she rolled her eyes.
"Always so flippant. Well while you live in squalor I am apprenticing the next generation of witch prodigies." Lilith snickered. "Does that bother you sister?"
"No as a matter of fact I have two lovely apprentices myself."
"Eda!" Luz called.
"Well there is one of them."
"Eda, Eda, Eda! I challenged Amity to a fight and she is going to kill me all the way dead." Luz said.
Lukas followed close behind. "Out of breath… still not used to the forms drain on my body." Lukas gasped.
"Humans? Two of them? Where did you even find the–" Lilith Eyes went wide when she spotted Lukas's bandages. "is it? It can't be?" Lilith then began speaking in a scratchy and dark tone.
Lukas remembered this as the language that Eda spoke to him when he broke into the comformitorium. This time he understood it unlike when he first heard it. The question she asked was "Are you a binder?"… what's a binder?
Lukas responded in the same language and the words he said was "I have no idea?"
Lilith's eyes went wide. She scowled at Lukas and then at Eda. "Edalyn you are playing with fire. Do you know what this boy represents?"
"I do and you should know that he doesn't understand what that culture was responsible for. So back off." Eda said the last bit threateningly.
"I will not Edalyn after all they took from us… he needs to be brought before the emperor… now!" Lilith charged forward making a grab for Lukas.
"No!" Luz slapped Lilith's hand away. "He's my brother and you're not gonna hurt him."
"You dare strike me human? I'll–" Lilith raised her fist to strike the human back but her hand was grabbed by Eda.
"Go Lilly, these are my apprentices and if I catch you trying to harm them again I'll blast you clear to the next isle. Understand?"
Lilith pulled her hand free from her sister's grasp. "We'll see how you feel when this boys powers develop and he tries to kill all of us. Oh wait, no you won't because I'm going to let that happen." Lilith glared at the boy "Watch yourself binder, I will not allow your kind to return to the boiling isles."
"Don't mind her kid. What's this about a duel?" Eda asked Lukas as the two talked to each other.
The two humans explained their situation to Eda and she listened in. "Alright kids, it's time to prepare for bloodshed."
"But whose blood?" Luz asked.
"Anyone's guess?" Eda said pulling Luz somewhere quiet to train.
"Deja vu, I guess." Lukas remembered when he dueled amity and he had a similar exchange with Asmodeus.

the duel started with a bang as Lilith entered the circle and called the attention of those attendance.
"Tonight we have two challengers looking to prove their mantle. In this corner my top student Amity blight. And in the other… some human girl." Lilith said the last bit with disdain.
Both Lukas and Eda sat next to each other as they tried to watch the battle.
Lukas was a nervous wreck. Even though Eda had ensured him that Luz would be fine.
Meanwhile Eda was as cool as a cucumber. She just watched her sister with a glare.
The fighting started and Amity summoned an abomination this one being slightly bigger then her usual.
"Oh god, she's starting with her abomination… are you sure your plan will keep Luz safe from that thing?"
"Lukas, you worry too much… she'll be fine." Eda said confident in her students ability.
The duel started with Amity's creation rushing toward Luz. The creature was barreling toward the human girl but was stopped when it stepped on a mound and flame erupted.
"What the heck was that?" Lukas asked, surprised.
"My little cheat. I implanted the ground with mounds that conjure magical explosions and other such effects. Clever aren't I?"
"Not if Luz or Amity get hurt you aren't." Lukas began to bite his nails at this.
He watched as Luz danced around the mounds and the creature kept barreling on them. The boy heard Amity question how Luz is doing this and he hoped Eda's cheating wouldn't be revealed.
He then heard king chanting for Luz and once again the creature tripped on his scarf and fell into the pit. Landing a mound with spikes that penetrated his sweater and shocked the creature.
"Spikes!? Eda are you serious!? That's it! I'm ending this now." Lukas rose from his seat but Eda grabbed his hand.
"You're not ending anything. Don't you care that if you interfere you and your sister won't be allowed to learn magic. Do you really want Luz to be that miserable."
"No, but I'd rather her be miserable then dead. Now let go!" Lukas pulled away from Eda his forms strength returning.
"I can't let you ruin this Lukas. Now stand down." Eda commanded rising from her seat preparing for a fight.
"Look at Amity's new abomination!" one person from the crowd called.
Sure enough both Eda and Lukas saw that this abomination was twice as tall as it's predecessor.
"What the!?" Both student and teacher exclaimed.
"How is her abomination that big… mine wasn't half that size when I was her age? What's going on!?" Eda asked, shaking Lukas.
"You're asking me!? I am still new to this magic thing. How am I supposed to know?"
"You've fought her before? So you should know what she is capable of."
"Yeah and she wasn't usually able to do something like this. At least, she didn't do it to me when I fought her."
Eda's eyes narrowed to where Lilith was watching with glee.
Just then the big abomination once again stepped on a mound and another gout of flame burned it.
Amity was shouting at Luz. Asking the human how she can do such things. Lukas watched Luz run to Amity as she was about to step on a mound.
"Luz no!" Lukas watched as Luz pushed amity away from the mound a gout of piercing ice shot up almost skewering the girl.
"Luz!" both Eda and Lukas exclaimed surged toward the arena floor.
Lukas pushed past the crowd and his fear empowering him. He jumped down from the bleachers and landed on the floor with a thud.
The gathered masses mumbled amongst themselves at the display. "Luz. Luz!" Lukas ran to his sister and watched her limp body lie on top of Amity. He held her in his arms. "Luz, no. No!" Power surged from Lukas's yell as the coliseum shook and cracked. The earth itself shook with his anger.
"L-Lukas." Amity awoke. "What is going on? Did I win?" Amity looked at mounds "She cheated! I won!"
"Shut up you green haired bitch! My sister could've died saving you! She should've let you die!" Lukas exclaimed each word formed more damage on he area in the room.
Amity recoiled from his sudden violent outburst. "What's wrong with you?" she looked at him with fear.
"Lukas!" Eda ran to her student "Look at me. It's okay. She's alive… come back to me kid." she said hugging him "I'm here and I'm not going anywhere."
Those words rung in Lukas's ears. He began to tear up as he hugged Eda. "I was so scared… I don't want to lose her… please don't let her die."
"I won't kid, I won't." Eda replied.
"Well Edalyn, since you cheated this does mean you lose." Lilith said smug.
"Hold on a second." Eda grabbed Amity's collar as she was leaving. "Ah-ha, I found it." Eda pulled a sticker from the back of amity's neck. "a construction coven power glyph… I knew it."
"I-i didn't know." Amity looked around at the people judging her. The girl ran away crying.
"You cheated Lilly… welcome to my level." Eda said.
"I only cheated because I knew you would cheat." she said her voice going red.
"Doesn't matter you still cheated and put one of my students at risk."
"Oh, who cares about some human poser." she said.
"The same people who care about what some old whore clinging to power has to say." Lukas replied rising his eyes still pentagrams.
"What did you call me, you brat." Lilith raised finger to make a spell circle but before she could complete one Lukas grabbed her hand finger still extended. "Let go, you're hurting me. Stop!"
"I'm going to break you?"
"w-what?"
Lukas crushed Lilith's hand and kicked her into the wall. Causing the whole structure to fall on top of her.
"L-Lukas? What's going on?" Luz's eyes began to open and hearing her voice calmed the raging Lukas.
"Luz!" Lukas ran to his sister and hugged her. "You saved Amity and turns out she cheated too."
"What!? We need to find her. Where is she?" Luz asked.
"We'll go find her… together." Lukas lead Luz out of the arena to find Amity.
Meanwhile Eda looked around at the destruction caused by her student. "Note to self… never to make that kid angry again."
Lilith's groan of pain was muffled from under the stones she was buried under.
"Tough luck for you sis… but I am sorry that had to happen to you." Eda ran to follow her students.

Luz and Lukas found amity sitting in the corner her head in her lap.
"Amity, we're sorry." Luz said.
"You're sorry!?" she exclaimed her face blood red and tears streaming from her eyes. "You made me look like a fool in front of the emperor's coven. I'll never get in now… you cheated! Say you're not a witch… say it!"
"I'm not a witch." Luz held her light ball in her hand "but I'm training hard to be one."
Amity wiped away her tears. "That spell is simple. Even a child could do it."
"Amity I'm sorry for what I said. I'm going through a lot right now and I shouldn't have taken it out on you." Lukas added.
"Maybe, I haven't been the best person to you two. I apologize as well." Amity Looked at Lukas and for the first her eyes caught his exposed chest. His shirt was tore from his fight with Lilith. She blushed at the tightly packed showing. "Lukas, I-i hope we can still be f-f-friends."
Lukas instead of answering wrapped Amity in a hug. He ignored the small squeak she let out and when she returned his embrace, he smiled. "Amity your the first friend I've ever made and I love you."
Amity blushed, she kissed Lukas's cheek and pulled away. "I-i gotta go. I'm going to undo the oath so you and Luz can still learn magic. Bye."
Lukas red faced from the kiss was just as shocked.
Luz meanwhile had a shit eating grin.
"What?" Lukas looked at his sister. "What!?"
"You got a girlfriend… Lukas got a girlfriend." she replied in a sing song tone.
"Shut it Luz."
"Hey when you gonna introduce her to mom?" She teased.
"It's not like that Luz. Stop it."
"Or what, you'll go tomato again?" Luz laughed chasing Lukas as they met their teacher.

Lilith fidgeted as the healer placed her hand in a cast with a healing glyph on it. Her ribs had also been taped up with a glyph. She had fought many of his kind before. But this boy was one of the strongest she has ever faced. He was quicker then her eye could see and could incapacitate her with two attacks.
Her mirror then went off.
"Great. What is it Kikimora?" She answered her mirror.
"I've heard the owl lady and her students put you through your paces."
"It's nothing I can't handle… my sister will join the coven and the emperor will receive his prize."
"Make sure he does and do not tarry. He does not like to be kept waiting."
"Don't speak to me like I'm a child."
"I must, as my faith in you as head of the coven has been shaken. Seeing as how you were taken out by boy… a human no less."
"He's not just a human… he's a binder!" She exclaimed.
Kikimora went silent and pondered this "Are you sure?"
"yes."
"I see… the emperor will be made aware of this… thank you Lilith."
Lilith clasped her mirror shut and rose to her desk. "Sister you make it hard to want to help you. Especially when you are harboring one of them. But I will save you because I know you don't have much time left."
