2,300 x 30% = 2,990.
I'm bad at math.
Chapter 6
Someone wise once said "Every second is a blessing."
What does that mean? Of course, it means that time itself is a blessing that have been descended upon us.
And once again, someone wise said "Use your time to the fullest."
To use your life to do something useful, something that you wanted, something that you love, something that you obsessed with.
To give your all, with all you have in your arsenal, and go against the odds in this world.
At least that's what it means in his perspective.
Alone.
Since when did that word always in his mind?
3? 4? 5 years ago, maybe?
He didn't know, nor he care.
Perhaps going against things alone might be impossible in the modern era he lived in.
But in this world? It's surprisingly possible.
All were provided by the nature, he's free here.
Yeah, free.
Going alone to go to an adventure.
To not count on someone else.
To not need someone's help.
To do everything on his own.
Free.
He's pretty much free.
Well, he needs to be strong if he wants to freely live, but he's strong enough to stroll around at East and North.
He looks to the sunset on the West.
He smiled.
"I'm a 'free man'."
Blacksmith, Axel.
Weapon, a fundamental aspect that is impossible to not have as an adventurer.
And armour, an aspect majority see as 'secondary', especially adventurers, they probably only gear themselves with weapons without wearing any pieces of armour.
But the truth is? Two of them are equal, they are pretty much important as each other.
Ironic that he only wear some normal set of clothes, with some pads protecting his joints and vitals.
But none of that matters.
Because today, he wanted to find a weapon.
He looks at his short-sword pathetically, this sword had accompanied him for months, and now he has to change it.
As the saying goes, "Your weapon is your friend."
"Goodbye, old friend."
He sighed in remorse, giving the short sword to the blacksmith.
"Such a rusty sword you got here, you sure you want to sell it to me? You could just keep it for the memorial of your memories."
That sounds tempting.
But...
"I don't have a house, so it will just get in the way if I fight, so no."
"Hmm... smart choice, but can you store it in the bank though?"
...Bank?
"I'll thought about it."
"Ah, okay, so, do you want this sword back?"
This blacksmith is very virtuous, unlike what he imagined him to be.
"...No."
The blacksmith nodded, throwing the sword to the furnace so he can melt it.
Kazuma felt his heartthrob, seeing that 'legendary' sword just getting thrown like that.
'Goodbye...'
The blacksmith check the furnace temperature first, before looking back at him and gestured his shop.
"So? Go choose, maybe you can find the right one for you."
The way the blacksmith said was as if he didn't come here to find weapons, it was as if he came here to find a spouse.
He nodded, and start to walk to the shelves that contain weapons in them, there are so many variables here.
Mace, lance, greatsword, one-hand sword, gauntlets, gloves, bow, crossbow, shield...
He was searching for the one when he came to halt himself.
It's because he found something that caught his interest.
...A scythe
The crescent moon shape of its blade beautifully shined amongst the weapon in such a bewitching way, with the red as its main body and black charcoal lined the edge, it looks sharp and incredible.
Even though only a small part of it he can saw, it still gives a fantastic vibe.
He plucks it out from the midst of weapons and when he succeeds in doing it, he was shocked.
The hilt itself is long, long enough to reach his ear, its surface was coloured black that was carved in such an extraordinary way, the grey lines of unrecognisable language on its sheath gave off a majestic feeling.
In short, this scythe, is spectacular.
He feels his breath has been taken away, caressing the scythe softly as if it was his most precious thing in this world.
He grasps it, and he felt it.
The feeling he was longing for, the feeling of a right weapon that fits him.
This scythe...
"What's this scythe's price?"
"Huh? Scythe? Which scythe?"
The blacksmith asked him confusedly, as he stood up from his workplace and walks to him.
When he saw the scythe in his grasp, he was surprised.
"Huh? You choose that scythe? That's weird."
"What do you mean?"
"Customers said that scythe gives off a creepy atmosphere, I myself was perplexed, so I actually attempt to hide it into that shelf so people won't run away, but you actually found it, and weirdly, you actually choose it!"
Creepy atmosphere? For him, it's more like it gives him a majestic atmosphere.
And hid it amongst the weapons in your shop? You could just hide it in your room or something!
It doesn't matter though.
"So can I purchase it?"
"I think there won't be any customer that would buy that scythe except for yourself, so I just let it off to you for 50,000 Eris."
Such an amazing weapon for that price? Even his former weapon cost him 35,000.
The price difference wasn't much, but when it comes to the difference between these 2 weapons, it was shocking.
"I'll take it."
"Good!"
He paid the blacksmith for the scythe, before giving him his farewell and his thanks.
"You're welcome, it's my job to serve my customers with my best."
After he goes out of the shop, he grasps his new weapon, feeling excited.
"Finally, a weapon that I can proudly say as my partner."
He went to North, it's time to try this great scythe.
Deeper Area, North.
He grasps the hilt of the scythe as he placed it on his shoulder, looking around for some preys.
Before in this area, he may be a prey, but now, North was only a place where he searches for minor preys.
After a brief moment of walking, he finally found it.
A black jaguar with electricity eyes.
It called Electric Eyes.
Probably named by some guy with a bad taste when it comes to naming.
But he didn't really care about that, as this monster's speed is as fast as lightning.
...at least that was what the rumours stated.
The truth is, it's just as fast as a level 31 adventurer.
And its physical and magical defence are pathetically weak.
But its offence cannot be underestimated.
Still, it's at a level where it can't hurt him.
So he plunged himself to it, making a swinging motion with his scythe.
The jaguar feels provoked by the sudden movement and used its superior speed to leap at the threat.
But when it came to a close distance from the threat, its instinct immediately told it to run.
But...
Kazuma won't let it run away of course.
And before the jaguar could turn around and escaped, it gets divided by two.
Kazuma looks disappointed, this monster's defence is so pitiful, so he can't test his scythe full potential.
'What should I do...?'
When he thought about a monster with ridiculous defence, he could only think about a creature.
That alien rip-off.
...Should he go to West?
He smiled in delight.
His eyes glinted.
A bloodlust could be seen just by seeing his face.
This world is a world full of battles, and as a hot-blooded youth, the one who already saw great battles in animes, fighting means his dreams have been fulfilled.
To fight by not relying on others.
To fight on his own.
To fight, for himself.
I'm ashamed of my own grammar and plot and everything, but-!
I like it.
Damn, "Hilt." as "Tilt." damn english-
Goodbye.
