"No more, please" said Sam to herself feeling how the life had been sucked out her for good. But she had no time to wallow in her misery as she realized Wyatt wasn't by her side. "Wyatt?" she called out and a loud explosion drowned her voice right then. She found herself against the half-broken wall of a wrecked building among gunshots and blasts of which she suddenly became aware of.

Wyatt was in no better position. He fell to his knees staring at his empty hands. He took one deep breath and finally looked around, letting the deafening sounds sip in. He was in somewhat of a clearing between big piles of debris and flipped over cars on fire, people running by on all sides. "Sam?" he called out barely registering his own voice. There was way too much racket for her to hear him anyway, but now he was paying attention he could hear her calling his name. He closed his eyes for a second and sprinted towards her call.

"Wyatt?" she ran out of the building as it finally started to collapse. He ran around protected by his projected shield as he tried to reach her, not bothering to protect himself, ignoring what could be going on around him at that moment. When she was close enough, she looked at him and fell to her knees. He ran to her and didn't stop till he had her in his arms. His shield making any debris bounce away from them. Everybody around kept running away from the collapsing building, but they knelt there for a second together, not caring about any of it.

"I can't take it anymore" she cried.

"We can do this" he kissed her forehead before putting his against hers.

Slowly the noise around them made their way back into their ears and they realized what was happening. There was a full blown fight going on; as military men threw bomb after bomb, the mortars and guns kept being orbed away or sank into the ground.

They looked around searching for familiar faces, still holding each other close, unsure who were they supposed to be defending or who exactly was on their side. After what they'd seen so far, how could they really be sure?

"Taking a break, are you?" said Edward sending a slide of rocks towards an incoming tank. "Henry's on the other side of the building trying to take down as many of them as they can with the potions we gave them" his words were so fast it was hard to keep up.

"Are there demons?" asked Sam watching a lot of army men.

"Hit your head, did you? Demons, mortals, white lighters, dark lighters, you name it! By now we can't tell if recon was right or not. We're getting hit heavy" yet another blast sent dust and debris everywhere.

There was a loud cry from behind them and not too far away they could painfully see the source of it. Praline was crying for help holding her sister Paddy's body. Wyatt ran to them on the spot. Sam gave Edward a hug before she ran after him. He was desperately trying to heal her, but she kept on bleeding.

"Kai, he stabbed her!" Praline was crying inconsolably. Wyatt could barely breathe hearing how his son had effectively killed Phoebe's daughter. "Why isn't she healing?"

"If he used something cursed I can't do anything…" said Wyatt still trying to heal her, fully aware he wouldn't be able to. Sam held on to him as hard as she could, trembling hands.

Edward threw rocks and jets of fire to incoming enemies coming their way, obviously trying to take advantage of the situation. Sam turned to look at him with a grateful grin. They smiled at each other momentarily, before Kai shimmered behind him and slid his throat from side to side.

"Nooooo" Sam screamed and blew her son back against a big piece of debris, running to her brother. She screamed in agony, taking in the pain of how she had lost him twice already. She turned to look at her son who had been impaled by a crooked metal pipe sticking out a random piece of the fallen building and she wept bitterly. This was horrible. It was overwhelming. There was no way of winning this. Wyatt bent his head down in defeat as he saw the whole scene unfold before his eyes.

And as if nothing had happened, they opened their eyes, soaked in tears, sitting on their living room couch in front of the cauldron, fuming the remains of the herbs thrown in. Future Wyatt sighed and walked away, having nothing to say.

Now they understood what was coming and there was absolutely no way they could let that happen. Even if it meant killing Elak, their own baby daughter, their first born.

They both curled up, wrapped in each other as much as humanly possible and just stayed there breathing each other in. They couldn't find the strength to move an inch away from each other, their hearts as heavy as could be.

After a while, Chris orbed in to check up on them as promised.

"You guys, OK?" he said looking at the way they were holding each other.

"We're alright" said Wyatt, his voice groggy, both of them looked up at him.

"Got what you wanted?" they stared at each other now. Wyatt caressed Sam's cheek and she leaned against it closing her eyes.

"We did" she frowned. Even now, knowing there was no other way, it didn't stop hurting any less. Somewhere in their hearts, they had been expecting to find the tiniest window of opportunity for a better option, but there seemed to be none.

"Come on, you're coming with us" said Chris pulling at their arms. "Get your butt out the couch, you're watching SpongeBob for the fiftieth time and you're gonna like it. Come on. Up, up, up" they laughed against the void in their hearts, their face still moist from their tears. "Chop, chop or Mom will go through all the popcorn again. Get a move on!" Wyatt kissed Sam and wiped away her tears as she wiped away his. Chris stared at them both not daring to imagine what they'd seen to get them even more upset than they had already been. He held on to their shoulders, ready to orb; they smiled and met his hands, happy to see he was unharmed.

Once they orbed to the manor, there were shrieks of joy from the kids. Julian offered them a slice of apple and pointed to the TV. Angie looked up from her grandmother's lap chewing on one of her rice cookies and smiled at them. "Where's Meghan?" asked Chris.

"She's in the kitchen with your dad bringing more popcorn" Piper smiled playfully to her granddaughter. "Who's here? Mommy and daddy"

"Ready or not here we come!" said Leo holding a big bowl of freshly made popcorn. Meghan running just ahead of him.

"Mama!" she said, arms outstretched, at the sight of her mother. Sam bent to pick her up and hugged her tight, trying to steady her breathing as she felt her fragile body against her chest making her wanna break down and cry, her lip starting to get the best of her, trembling. She kept her eyes on Wyatt who caressed his daughter's hair tenderly, gulping repeatedly, trying to effectively swallow his own sorrow away.

"Mama's got ya. Mommy's here" said Sam finally starting to tear up. Piper and Leo stared unaware of what they had just come from. "Hormones" she said trying to cover it up, backing her tears on the fact she was pregnant was a nice save cause they inquired no further.
