Just breath
My god it's so beautiful when the boy smiles.
Wanna hold him.
No one can find the rewind button.
Just breath.
When Lucas officially moved out. I laid in bed. Staring around at the walls of the bedroom we used to share. Trying to figure out where exactly did things go so wrong.? When did we go from a couple so in love too two people having to break up to prevent hatred and resentment from growing between them.
I spent days like that. Not sleeping just rewinding memories of our life together. I was just going through the motions. My job. The kids. Repeat. Basically in a haze. Until at dinner one night.
Penelope announced to me and her brothers that she wanted to move in with her father.
The light conversation Carson and Brian were having stopped. The kitchen was silent.
I just sat there staring back at my daughter. Unsure i heard her right. This had to be a mistake.
"I'm moving in with dad. I'm 12. Old enough to decide who i want to live with." Penelope declared.
"You don't know what you're saying. I know this is a difficult all of us but that doesn't give you the right. To cause more hurt and pain by leaving. You aren't going anywhere." Brooke replied.
"I wasn't asking for you're permission. Dad said he would love to have me there with him. This isn't you're decision to make it's mine! And i'm not staying here other day!" Penelope shot back as she got up from the dining room table and ran up the stairs.
Brooke felt uneasy. Unsteady.
It was all reaching a tipping point. Watching her babygirl. Move out of her home. Leaving her house keys behind.
She couldn't wrap her head and heart around it.
How she had managed to lose her drive away her daughter.?
Weeks Later
Lucas Scott seen again with the singer Alex Dupre
Is it just a fling or are real feelings starting to develop.?
The entertainment news reporter asked. Looking to the camera.
Brooke practically crushing the tv remote. As she paced around her bedroom. She lingered in her closet and picked out a dress.
Instead of wallowing she was going to go out on dates of her own.
She figured a good looking distraction could only help.

Penelope laughed as she and her best friend Rylie McFadden finished their hand game.
"Love that movie. The Hot Chick. We watched it way too much." Rylie said.
"I know. We have to warm up and one of us has to lead practice. I will next time. I've been too distracted to focus on cheering and cheers. My parents are dating which is weird. I know they haven't been together in years and i should be comfortable and used to this but. I guess i held out the hope that one day they would get back together." Penelope admitted.
"I say keep hope alive. You never know how things could end up." Rylie replied.
"Well it looks you have an audience today." Rylie teased.
Penelope felt herself blush. "No time for boys. We have practice." She stated.

"Inviting me over like this is so welcomed. I like you're food but enjoy you're company alot more. I appreciate this mom." Brooke said.
Karen smiled warmly as she focused her gaze on Brooke. A tray in front of them with a variety of food and cold drinks.
"Let's catch up dear. Work and the kids.? You're personal life. Anything to update me about.?" The older woman politely.
"The store is better then ever. The kids are all doing really well considering. My personal life is nothing serious." Brooke admitted.
"Why do you ask.?" Brooke questioned.
"How long have we known each other Brooke.?" Karen asked.
"Since i was a kid. I only know what a real mom is supposed to be because of you." Brooke replied.
"Exactly it means i know really well. Enough to know without a doubt that you're lying to yourself and Lucas. And i hope someday soon. You can be honest and live the life you've been feeling lost without." Karen said.

Keith's Auto Body Shop
"One day. This shop will belong to you." Keith announced.
"Not for a very long time. If i have anything to say about it." Lucas replied.
"When are we going to meet this Alex girl.? We've seen clips and pictures of the two of you. On the entertainment blogs and tv shows." Keith questioned.
"She's not someone special. I just decided to move on. And let go." Lucas replied.
