A/N: Hi readers! Sorry for the delay, I'm finishing up school and exams at the moment but I should be able to start posting more frequently soon! This is a quick little chapter, definitely one of the shortest. Speaking of, why am I at 40k words, and I'm nowhere near done with this story LMAOO. I've probably mentioned before but I have BIG plans for this fanfic spanning about 20 more chapters and a couple more characters to introduce so I hope you guys will continue to stick around!

The cafeteria was packed, as usual, voices swarming the room as eager students talked with their friends about their weekends. The campus bell tower rang in the background twelve times, signaling that it was twelve in the afternoon. Tinker Bell sat at her usual lunch table with her friends, tuning in and out of each of their conversations.

"You were amazing last Friday!" she heard Silvermist say.

"Really? Did my hair look okay?" Rosetta responded while Silvermist chuckled.

Meanwhile, Clank and Bobble were arguing about what features to add to their birdhouse for the woodshop project.

"Oo Oo! A chimney!" Clank exclaimed, popping a mozzarella stick in his mouth.

"Now what would we need a chimney for?" Bobble rebutted.

While Tinker Bell laughed at their little argument, she saw Iridessa and Fawn walk by their table.

"Hey!" Tinker Bell waved, trying to catch their attention. The two girls smiled at Tinker Bell but shook their heads.

"Sorry, Tink. There's a protest for the M.E. Field happening right now!" Fawn gushed. Iridessa nodded vigorously and followed Fawn out of the cafeteria.

Tinker Bell lowered her hand, a bit embarrassed. But as they walked away, right behind them stood Terence, who thought that Tinker Bell was waving at him and began to wave back enthusiastically. She quickly looked away, hoping that he wouldn't come over.

"Speaking of the woodshop project," Bobble commented with a devious grin as Terence bounced over to their table with his tray.

"Hey, Tink!" Terence exclaimed, taking a seat right next to Tinker Bell. A little too close, she might add.

"Hey Terence," Tinker Bell greeted with a fake smile. She liked Terence, she really did, but whenever they did a project together, he would get overly excited and it would annoy her. It was just her luck that she was assigned his partner for woodshop, the one class she was good at.

"So, Tink, I was thinking," he began even though Tinker Bell wasn't paying any attention. "Maybe we can get together sometime for this woodshop thing? I had this idea for a dispensable feeder. I'm not sure about the mechanics or anything but you could probably figure that out…"

Terence kept babbling while Tinker Bell picked at her food, wishing she were anywhere but there. From the corner of her eye, she saw Peter Pan enter the cafeteria, scanning the student body for someone. Finally, when he laid eyes on Tinker Bell, he smiled a wide smile.

Tinker Bell returned the sentiment and immediately straightened up as he approached her table.

"Hey Bells," he said as he swung his legs over the bench to take a seat in front of her. Tinker Bell blushed, she liked it that he was the only one to call her Bells. Terence stopped talking and looked at Peter with narrowed eyes.

"Hey," Tinker Bell replied, practically drooling.

"I have a small favor to ask," Peter said, leaning forward on the table.

"Sure, what's up?" Tinker Bell asked eagerly.

"I promised Wendy that we'd help her and the SGA with the Prom Fundraiser on Wednesday," he explained. Tinker Bell almost rolled her eyes. Of course, everything always led back to Wendy with him. "So what do you think? Can you make it?"

Tinker Bell, half mesmerized by Peter, didn't feel like she owed Wendy any favors. But how could she say no to Peter?

Tinker Bell nodded. "Sure thing!"

Peter smiled at her as he stood up from the lunch table. "Great! See ya Wednesday!"

Tinker Bell pouted as he walked away. He didn't even want to stay and eat lunch with her. She went back to picking at her food and Terence began to talk again.

"So I take it you're busy Wednesday," he said sarcastically.

Tinker Bell turned to look at Terence who had a glum look on his face. "Yeah, Wednesday's a no-go. In fact, I think I'll be too busy the rest of the week. How about this weekend? Saturday?" Tinker Bell suggested, trying to end the conversation.

"Saturday! Cool, cool. I should be free. I mean, I do newspaper deliveries in the morning but my afternoon is free for sure. Where are we meeting? My place or yours because…"

"Terence!" Tinker Bell interrupted his rambling. He looked at her with wide eyes.

"Right! Sorry! Saturday," he stated and Tinker Bell nodded. She picked up her tray and threw the uneaten food into the nearest trashcan. "Hey! Where're you going?" Terence asked.

"Uh…the rally!" Tinker Bell responded, "Can't miss it!"

Flynn sat on top of one of the lunch tables nearest to the cafeteria entrance. Rapunzel stood next to him giving out cupcakes that she made the night before. Flynn had convinced her that nothing got people to like you more than free food. So, the two planned for Rapunzel to hand out cupcakes as a part of her Prom campaign at the beginning of that week.

"Wow Flynn, you were right!" Rapunzel exclaimed whilst handing out the vanilla pink-frosted cakes.

"Yeah yeah," Flynn said, too busy looking at his phone to give an actual response. He was scrolling on Instagram when a photo of Giselle popped up. "Wow," he mumbled as he double tapped the photo.

"Flynn!" Rapunzel groaned, handing out cupcakes faster than she could replace them.

Flynn jerked his head up from his screen. "Sorry, sorry. Don't forget to vote for Rapunzel as your Prom Queen!" he yelled.

Rapunzel giggled. "Could you start putting out the rest of the cupcakes from the cooler? I'm running out quick."

Flynn huffed but dug into the cooler next to Rapunzel and started placing them onto the lunch table. He noticed the small purple picks in the cupcakes with Rapunzel's face on them as he set them out. The words 'Prom Queen' was printed in gold lettering. Impressive, he thought, wondering where in the world she managed to get printed cupcake picks on such short notice. They had only come up with the plan Saturday night.

Once he was done, Flynn started to pull out his phone again but Rapunzel immediately gave him a death glare. Flynn put the phone back into his pocket and surrendered his hands. Out of boredom, he began tapping his fingers on the lunch table, saying "Vote for Rapunzel" to everyone who walked by.

Suddenly, Flynn felt a tap on his shoulder. He whipped around to see Yao, a junior beckoning for Flynn to follow him. Even though he was below the average height, he sported a thick mustache that added to his perceived age. Flynn looked back at Rapunzel, whose friends had just shown up and had her attention.

"I'll be right back," he told her and she just waved him off. Flynn picked up his backpack from the ground, hopped off of the lunch table, and followed Yao out of the cafeteria. They walked down the silent hall and to the right where the boys' bathroom was.

The boys' bathroom was known as none other than the meet-up spot for…stimulants. The students, of course, had an organized system that flew right under the teachers' radars. Flynn happened to be the main pill distributor. Anything you could find in a pharmacy, Flynn had and more.

Yao opened the door for Flynn and upon entering he saw Hans leaning against the bathroom wall. Yao let the door close behind Flynn but stood outside in front of the door to act as a lookout.

"Whatcha need?" Flynn asked Hans, still standing near the doorway.

"Uh, you got any Adderall?" Hans asked, digging in his pockets for a wad of cash.

Flynn just nodded and started to dig through his backpack. The exchange itself was quick. Flynn took the cash and Hans swiftly exited the bathroom as if nothing had ever happened. Flynn waited for a couple of seconds after Hans left before he made his way to the door when suddenly, one of the bathroom stall doors flung open. Out popped both of the Stabbington Brothers with snarls on their faces as they approached Flynn menacingly.

"Whoa whoa whoa, fellas, come on!" Flynn protested as they cornered him against the wall.

One of the brothers blocked the door while the other grabbed Flynn's shirt and raised him off of the floor. "You owe us," he grunted.

"I know, I know, I'll have your money soon. I promise!" Flynn asserted. "Here!" Flynn said as he dug through his pockets to retrieve the money he had just received from Hans, "There, where does that put me?"

The Stabbington Brother crumped the measly fifteen bucks and tightened his grip on Flynn's shirt. "A hundred eighty-five," he grumbled.

Flynn mentally kicked himself. "I can get that for you! I swear! Just give me a couple more weeks!" Flynn pleaded. The Stabbington Brother slowly lowered him to the ground and Flynn dusted off his shirt.

"You better," the Stabbington Brother said.

"Come on guys, I can't believe that after all we've been through together, you don't trust me!" Flynn said, trying to collect his cool even though he was trembling inside.

"Two weeks!" the Stabbington Brother emphasized as the other brother stepped away from the door.

"Yeah, yeah. Two weeks," Flynn repeated, quickly making his way to the door. He saluted them before exiting the bathroom. Once he was in the hallway he let out a sigh of relief. That was a close one.

The Stabbington Brothers had been after him since last summer. He 'borrowed' a bit of money from them and never got around to paying them back. It wasn't until they started to threaten Flynn by saying that they'd get their older cousin who would be released from jail soon to go after them. Ever since then, he'd been avoiding them in school. But it seemed like today they finally found him.

Flynn readjusted the straps of his backpack before walking back into the cafeteria.

As lunch was coming to an end, Pocahontas was pretty proud of the rally that she had planned. Over the weekend she created a group chat with everyone's numbers from her Environmental Science class, as well as her friends to help spread the word about the demonstration. She only had a couple of weeks before they would rip up the M.E. Field so she had to gather support quickly.

Pocahontas had spent all of Sunday creating posters and coming up with chant ideas. Upon arriving at school on Monday, she wasn't expecting a large turnout, but she was pleasantly surprised when she showed up at the M.E. Field during lunch.

Apparently, word had spread around, and pretty quickly at that. By the time Pocahontas pulled out her megaphone and started chanting, half the school was either chanting with her or filming the rally with their cellphones. All in all, a success.

Pocahontas rolled up the posters and started stuffing them into an extra bag that she brought, along with her megaphone and face paint. Kocoum emerged from the right side of the field and quietly approached Pocahontas. Pocahontas handed him the bag and let out a huge sigh.

"Is that the last of it?" Kocoum asked stoically.

"Yup, that should be all," Pocahontas replied, putting her hands on her hip. Kocoum was nice enough to let Pocahontas put all her props and materials in his car since they rode together after school anyway. Kocoum was always nice. And that was the problem.

Kocoum nodded and heaved the bag towards the parking lot once more, disappearing into the stream of students who were walking from one building to the next.

Pocahontas crouched down to grab her backpack from the ground and when she stood back up, her eyes met a pair of ocean blue eyes. Startled, she jumped back a bit, landing on the ground with a soft thump.

John Smith laughed while Pocahontas rolled her eyes. "Haha," she mocked sarcastically.

John Smith offered his hand towards Pocahontas but she declined, pushing herself off of the grass and brushing her pants off. She looked back up at John but he was just staring at her with a smirk.

"What?" she demanded.

John looked into Pocahontas' eyes as if he were searching for something. "You never texted me," he finally said.

Pocahontas sighed and started towards the concrete pathway towards her next class. John followed, casually strolling beside her. "I added you to the group chat-".

"That's not what I meant," John cut her off as he side-stepped in front of her. A moment of silence passes between them. Pocahontas briefly wondered why he was chasing after her all of a sudden… "I was thinking maybe we could go out sometime?" he blurted out. And there it was. He asked with such ease and confidence that it took a moment for Pocahontas to register what had just happened.

"Us?" Pocahontas blinked. "Me and you?" she continued, "Go out?"

John looked a bit nervous at her reaction and ran his hands through his tousled blonde hair before shoving his hands in his pockets. "You say it like it's such a bad idea."

It was a bad idea. "We don't exactly have the same interests," Pocahontas told him truthfully. She started to walk along the path again.

John briefly stood alone where Pocahontas had left him. "Oh what because you don't want the field replaced and I don't mind?" he yelled while jogging after her.

"Indifference is not opposition," Pocahontas replied swiftly. As they approached the East building, John ran ahead to open the entrance door for her.

"Maybe we have more in common than you think!" he said as Pocahontas walked through the door. Pocahontas highly doubted that. If they didn't see eye to eye on something that meant a lot to her, then they probably weren't a good match, to begin with. Unlessshe got him to see it her way.

Pocahontas stopped in the middle of the hallway and John clumsily bumped into her. "You're right!" she suddenly exclaimed.

"I am?" John asked, disorientated. "I mean, so you'll go out with me?" he quickly corrected.

"Yes. But only if I can choose the location," she told him. She could see a smile already creeping onto his face.

John blinked a few times to make sure he was hearing her right. "Sure, where?"

Pocahontas smirked. Glad you asked, she thought "The M.E. Field," she stated.

John's happy countenance dissolved as it all started to make sense. "That's not a-" he began.

"Hey," Pocahontas interrupted, her eyes narrowing. "I thought we had a deal."

John pursed his lips and sighed. It was the best he was going to get. "Yea, sure. Deal," he finally said. "When?"

"Tomorrow at eight," Pocahontas responded. Football practice didn't end until seven-thirty and the custodians would lock all the doors and gates soon afterward. But, nothing a little gate hopping could fix. Soon, John would see how important the M.E. Field really was.

"Oh, trespassing?" John raised an eyebrow with a smirk. "I think we're more alike than meets the eye, Pocahontas. See ya tomorrow," he said with a wave just as the bell rang.

For some reason, hearing Johns say her name made Pocahontas shiver…in a good way. She hated to admit to herself how intrigued she was by him. He wasn't like Kocoum who was simply nice and reserved. He was different and dare she say it, not boring. As Pocahontas walked to her next class, she wore a smile.

Anna sat in the back row of the music classroom while Mrs. Fauna chirpily wrote some notes on the board. Next to her, Ariel was gossiping in Anna's ear about her weekend with Eric and his band that she spontaneously joined.

"…and he wants me to come over again today to practice! I mean the fundraiser is in just two days so it makes sense but yesterday was such a disaster I swear Vanessa was doing everything in her power to stall so that I wouldn't get to sing…"

Luckily, the bell cut her and Mrs. Fauna off.

"And don't forget to your essays on analyzing a song that means something to you are due Friday!" Mrs. Fauna announced as anxious students rushed out of the room.

Anna grabbed her bag and followed Ariel out into the hallway as she continued to tell her story. But Anna could barely pay attention to her best friend as her mind was solely focused on Hans.

After the party on Friday, Anna sent him a text which he then never responded to. The whole weekend passed and nothing. She figured it was her fault for becoming so into a guy that she just met. But still…she couldn't help but feel that they had a connection. They had spoken for hours alone that Friday night and even shared a kiss that Anna didn't tell her friends about.

Suddenly just as Anna and Ariel rounded the corner, there stood Hans talking to a group of football players in the middle of the hallway. Without thinking, Anna's arm flew up into the air and waved enthusiastically.

"What are you-" Ariel began before spotting Hans' face in the clump of football players.

Anna's face beamed like a little child when Hans finally caught her eye. He smiled at her before pushing through the football players. Maybe he just didn't see my message, Anna thought as Hans sauntered over to her and Ariel.

"Hey Anna," Hans greeted smoothly. He gripped his backpack which was slung over one shoulder with both hands.

"Hey!" Anna blurted a little too eagerly. The silence that followed was awkward as Ariel looked between the two of them. "Uh- did you get my text?" Anna asked sheepishly.

"Eesh, no sorry. My phone died. That's my bad." Hans replied. His calming voice and gorgeous face put Anna in a trance. Of course! Anna thought, his phone died. That made perfect sense. "Anyways I've actually been meaning to talk to you all day."

"Really?" Anna unknowingly voiced aloud.

"Yeah, uh, I was wondering if you wanted to come over to my place later this evening. Say eight?" Hans suggested, looking back towards his teammates who were still huddled in the middle of the hallway.

"Your place! Yes! At eight! I'll be there!" Anna's cheeks blushed red as she pathetically tried to string together a real sentence.

"Great, I'll see you later then," he told her before nodding towards Ariel and heading back over to his friends.

Anna grabbed Ariel's hands excitedly and squealed. It was a date! A real date!

After school, Anna sat in her room carefully applying her makeup. However, she could barely contain her excitement long enough to apply eyeliner with a steady hand. It wasn't even six o'clock yet but Anna wanted to look perfect for when she showed up at Hans' house.

Once she finally finished her makeup, Anna bounced over to her closet when she flipped through each item of clothing with distaste. She had nothing good enough to wear for Hans! Maybe they would be having dinner at his place or dinner at a restaurant. In that case, Anna had to wear something cute but classy. Formal but not too formal. Anna briefly thought about asking Elsa for her opinion but she quickly dismissed the idea since she was probably 'too busy'.

After what seemed like ages Anna pulled on a perfectly fitting long-sleeved fuchsia top, dark wash jeans, and some black flats. She pulled her hair up into a cute bun and with that, she was done. Suddenly, her phone chimed. When Anna looked at the screen she was ecstatic to see that it was Hans. She opened the message to see that he had texted her his address. Anna replied with a thumbs-up emoji before setting her phone down and admiring herself in the mirror. Tonight was going to be perfect!

At seven-thirty Anna rushed out to drive over to Hans' house and within twenty minutes, she had arrived. She couldn't suppress her excitement as she walked up the driveway to the front door. Anna ringed the doorbell and as she glanced at the time on her phone she worried that she was a bit early. Would that make her look desperate? Her thoughts soon dissolved when Hans opened the door almost immediately.

Anna's wide smile slowly narrowed when the door swung open. Hans was dressed in a Disney High sweatshirt, some basketball shorts, and white Nike socks. Not exactly dinner apparel, Anna thought as she looked down at her top. She suddenly felt a bit overdressed.

"Hey!" Hans beamed as he ushered her in. Anna put on a small smile. He closed the door behind her and Anna stood at the door awkwardly. "Come on upstairs," he told her. Anna nodded curtly as she followed him to the steps not far from the front door.

She climbed the stairs behind Hans before turning the corner to climb another flight of stairs. She peered down the second-floor hallway as she passed, noticing many rooms whose doors were closed but had tickers with different names on them.

Finally, they made it upstairs to a small room located in what seemed like the attic. LED lights transitioned into different colors, illuminating the dark room. There wasn't much furniture in the room. On the floor was a neatly made mattress facing a large TV surrounded by a gaming console.

Hans took a seat on his bed and grabbed the remote. He patted the space next to him on the bed and Anna gingerly sat down. "What do you wanna watch?" he asked, getting into a comfortable position on the bed. Anna, who still sat on the edge of the bed, shrugged as Hans browsed through Netflix. Not exactly what Anna pictured as a date.

Hans settled for a cartoon movie and Anna swung her legs onto the bed, her back propped up against the back wall. As the movie played, Hans put his arms around Anna's shoulders. It could be worse, Anna figured.

It was hard to believe that just five days ago Eric overheard Ariel singing and now she was a part of his band. It was their third practice session and in just two days they'd be performing at the Prom Fundraiser. Again, Ariel had never sung in front of anyone before, but as time went on she became more comfortable singing in front of the band, and hopefully, she'd be just as comfortable singing in front of a real crowd.

On Sunday they had finalized their setlist of three songs and now they were rehearsing the songs non-stop, making little adjustments along the way. Most of the songs had just been instrumental with partial lyrics written by Vanessa. It was Ariel's job to feel out the songs and flesh out the rest of the lyrics. And it was a hard job.

Ariel was no lyricist by any means, she only sang popular songs. And it was hard enough to come up with ideas without Vanessa making unwanted suggestions. It seemed like before Ariel came along the guys just went with whatever she said.

They had spent the afternoon and the evening polishing and tightening up the first two songs, but the third one was a bit of a struggle for Ariel. None of the words were piecing together the way she wanted them to.

"Could you guys play this verse on a loop for a second?" Ariel asked, sitting on top of one of the stereos with a notebook in her lap, a pen in one hand, and her chin in the other.

"You heard the lady," Eric announced and Naveen tapped his drumsticks to count off.

As the band played Ariel closed her eyes and tried to let the music speak to her. It was at this moment she wished she had paid more attention in Music class.

Suddenly, the bass guitar struck a chord and Vanessa stopped playing. Ariel opened her eyes.

"Okay, this is just ridiculous," she yelled, her eyes piercing into Ariel's like daggers. "Are we seriously just going to wear ourselves out playing for her while she comes up with weak lyrics?"

Ariel's cheeks immediately reddened.

"Hey,"

"Come one now,"

"Wait a minute,"

The three boys all said at once. Ariel stood up from the stereo and shook her head.

"No, she's right guys." Ariel let the notebook flop onto the ground and she grabbed hold of the microphone. "Let me just try something different? From the top."

Kristoff, Naveen, and Eric all looked at each other while Vanessa rolled her eyes. The sound of drumsticks broke the silence and the band started playing.

Feel the music, Ariel thought to herself. As the intro transitioned to the first verse, Ariel just began to sing whatever came to mind.

"Maybe it's me, blind to the world how could I not see? Fish out of water drowning at sea, I can only reach the shore, but I want more,"

Vanessa eyes Ariel as she and the rest of the guys transitioned into the chorus.

"I wanna be one with the wind, I wanna see all that I can, all that I am all that I've done, spread my wings and reach for the sun, wanderin' free, wish I could be, part of that world,"

As the song continued, Ariel became more confident. She flowed through the song easily and even began to play around with some riffs. She caught a glance at Eric who was playing while also staring at her in awe.

When the song ended everyone was panting. Kristoff headed inside to get everyone bottled water. Naveen, exhausted, put a thumbs up into the air before collapsing onto the floor. Even Vanessa sat down for a moment, scrolling through her phone to play off her how tired she really was.

Eric still sat behind his keyboard stunned. "Ariel…that was…"

"Amazing!" Kristoff finished as he burst into the garage with water bottles in hand. "Oh Eric, you're a genius! We should've had her in this band months ago!"

Naveen nodded as he gulped down his water. Vanessa just scoffed.

"Whatever," she said, snatching a bottle from Kristoff. "Those weren't even the lyrics."

Ariel shrugged, her newfound confidence let her brush Vanessa's comment off with ease. "Well, the other lyrics…weren't exactly working."

The garage was silent. All three boys looked at Vanessa in fear, but she didn't say anything. Instead, she just sat up and grabbed her black purse. She lowered her shades from her head with a menacing smile.

"I'm out," she stated simply.

"See you tomorrow!" Naveen naively waved.

"No, you won't. I'm out," she repeated.

Everyone looked around confused. "Of the band?" Kristoff asked.

"Yup! See you losers Wednesday. Hope you don't suck." Vanessa emphasized the word suck and looked right at Ariel as she said it before swiveling around to walk towards her car.

"Oh come on! Vanessa wait!" Eric pleaded, jogging after her.

What had Ariel just done? Their bassist just quit and she was pretty sure it was her fault! After a moment, Vanessa's Jeep sped off and Eric walked back into the garage defeated.

Ariel's heart almost broke looking at how crushed Eric looked. "I- I'm so sorry I didn't mean-"

"No, no" Eric countered, cutting Ariel off. "It's not your fault. She's a drama queen." He turned to Kristoff, "Can you play bass instead?"

"I got you, bro," Kristoff replied, putting his fist out in the air. Naveen and Eric did the same before exploding their hands and laughing.

Eric looked at Ariel and smiled. "Everything's going to be fine. We're going to rock on Wednesday!"

Ariel felt reassured as he looked deeply into her eyes. Yeah, they were going to rock.
