A few months later, after he graduated from middle school, Izuku was currently getting ready for his first day at UA. He was currently putting on his signature red sneakers while his mom helped him go over what he needed last minute.

"You have your notebook right?"

"Yes, mom."

"And your handkerchief?"

"Yes, mom."

"What about your-"

"Mom, we went over my school supplies last night. I'm pretty sure I have everything I need." Izuku said as he tied his shoes. Once he was ready Izuku went towards the front door ready to leave.

"Izuku?"

"Yes?"

"I just wanted to say...I'm really proud of you." Inko smiled at her son. "Do your best today."

Izuku smiled in return and nodded. "I will mom."

And with that, Izuku Midoriya left for his first day at UA Academy.

The train ride to UA was mostly uneventful, save for a few congratulations from a few other commuters that noticed Izuku's uniform. When Izuku got to the school he made his way through the halls to find the wing that the hero course would take place.

"I can't believe that I actually made it into UA. I hope that Kendo-san made it in too. I never got to thank her for helping me during the exam... Hopefully, I can thank her someday."

While he was thinking, Izuku had made his way to the heroics department and was currently standing in front of a large door that had the letter 'A' painted on it from top to bottom.

"This must be 1-A, I just hope that I don't run into Kaachan or that scary guy from the entrance exam."

Luck, however, wasn't on Izuku's side, because as soon as he opened the door he saw the same glasses guy from the entrance exam, lecturing Bakugou on why he shouldn't sit on a desk.

"Or I could just die." Izuku thought as the guy with glasses noticed him and approached with a brisk pace.

"Hello! I am Tenya Iida from Soumei Academy, and I must apologize for my rudeness during the entrance exam." Iida said, "I didn't realize that there was a hidden objective to the exam, but you realized it almost immediately! You must truly be suited to be a hero!"

"I-I really didn't know much more than you did, I was just trying to help that girl who was pinned," Izuku replied waving his hands in front of him in a panic.

"Still, what you did was becoming of a potential student of UA," Iida said.

"I agree, what you did during the exam was pretty heroic!" A familiar voice said.

Izuku turned and saw Itsuka wearing the UA uniform, he had to admit that she looked really cute in it.

"Ah Kendo-san, it's good to see you again," Izuku said.

"It's good to see you too Midoriya-kun," she replied.

Before they could start a conversation, a large yellow mass on the floor could be seen inching its way into the classroom. Everyone paused what they were doing to take note of what seemed to be a sleeping bag that had suddenly appeared in the classroom.

"It took you 50 seconds to quiet down, that's way too long." A voice could be heard from the sleeping bag as it rolled over to reveal a man with a lot of stubble on his face giving the class a stern look. "If you're here to mess around I suggest that you leave right now."

The man's words may have been more impactful had he not pulled out a jelly pouch from his sleeping bag and began to drink it in the middle of his lecture. Once he was done the man stepped out of his sleeping bag and discarded the now empty pouch.

"My name is Shouta Aizawa, and starting today I'm going to be your homeroom teacher," Aizawa made his way over to his desk to pull out a large box that was behind it. He then took out a blue uniform that was wrapped in plastic.

"Everyone grab one of these and meet me at PE grounds in 15 minutes," he said as he began to walk out of the class.

"What about orientation?" a student asked

"Here at UA teachers are given free rein to do as they please when it comes to their classes." Aizawa said, "Now hurry up and get changed."

15 minutes later at the PE grounds

After getting changed into their gym uniforms, everyone in Class 1-A made their way to the PE ground to find Aizawa waiting for them.

"Alright, now that you're all here we're going to perform a quirk apprehension test to see just how much control you all have over your quirks." Aizawa then looked over to Bakugou and tossed him a ball. "Bakugou, you got the highest score on the practical exam, so I want you to demonstrate how we're going to perform the test. Now step into the circle over there," Aizawa motioned to a circle drawn on the ground with chalk. Bakugou did as he was told and went to stand in the circle.

"What was your farthest throw in middle school?" Aizawa asked

"About 67 meters. Why?" Bakugou asked

"This time when you throw the ball, I want you to use your quirk. Anything goes as long as you stay within the circle."

With that, Bakugou could only grin as he got into his throwing stance and hurled the ball as hard as he could with a large explosion following it.

"DIE!" He yelled as the ball went soaring farther than anyone could see.

Everyone seemed to be more surprised that he yelled 'die', rather than the distance, but if Bakugou cared he didn't let anyone know.

"Here you'll be expected to learn how to use your quirks in order to save lives. Before we can begin teaching you how to do that, however, we need to take them to their absolute limit in order to make them ready for hero work." Aizawa held up a device that was paired to the ball. On the screen, everyone could see that the ball traveled well over 700.5 meters. "This is why our school's motto is Plus Ultra, so you can go beyond what you're capable of."

It finally began to sink into everyone that they were really at UA, one of the top hero courses in the entire country, and quite possibly the world. They'd spend the next 3 years of their lives learning how to become great heroes.

"Wow this looks like fun." a girl with pink skin and dark sclera said

Well, that didn't last too long.

"Oh, you think this is going to be fun? Do you think life-threatening scenarios are going to be a good time? Need I remind you that the next 3 years are going to be filled with intensive training? If you wanted to make friends and hang out after school, you'd be better off in the general studies course." Aizawa began to lecture the entire class. "To really make this point stick, the person who comes in dead last will be expelled. No second chances, you pack your bags and leave UA for good."

The entire class was shocked to hear this as it was only the first day of school and one of them was likely going to be expelled.

"That's not fair." the pink-skinned girl said.

"You want to talk about fair? Tell that to civilians who might lose their life? Or to the business owners whose livelihoods are at stake every time a villain attacks?" Aizawa said. "Nothing in the world of heroics is fair. You'd better get used to it."

With that, the quirk apprehension test began. Izuku was worried about his level of control and if he'd end up injuring himself. He had just barely made it past the entrance exam without going past his current limit; He'd just need to pace himself throughout Aizawa's tests so that he can prove that he does deserve to be at UA.

But something was bothering him... he could have sworn that he'd seen Aizawa somewhere before.

During the 50 meter dash, Izuku came in at around 5.35 seconds. For the grip test, he managed around 160kg before his finger began to give out. He managed to clear the standing long jump as well, although at this point he was beginning to show signs of slowing down. He'd been able to summon One For All's power by channeling it throughout his body like how he had during the entrance exam, but this time he didn't have the same rush of adrenaline. He could feel the strain of his quirk when he tried to use it. Luckily the last test that'd require the use of his quirk was the ball test.

Izuku stepped into the circle and got ready to throw when he suddenly didn't feel the power of All for One course through him anymore. He looked confused until he turned to see Aizawa glare at him.

"I've been watching you Midoriya, you haven't been using your full capabilities have you?" Aizawa asked just loud enough for only Izuku to hear. When the green-haired teen didn't answer Aizawa got his confirmation "I don't know if this is because of some pride thing, but just know that doing things halfway isn't going to work here. Either give it your all or go home."

With that Aizawa walked away Izuku began to think about his performance during the tests he just took. Sure he did well enough, but he didn't really go past his limits. He only did enough to not break anything. Knowing what he had to do, Izuku got into his stance and readied his right arm. In an instant, he whipped his arm forward summoning as much of One For All as he could with green lightning sparking around him.

Like usual he began by spreading the excess throughout his body, but then he channeled it into his arm and then his hand until it reached the tip of his right index finger. The ball went rocketing forward with a trail of green lightning following it until it couldn't be seen anymore.

Izuku's finger was bruised but he managed to deal with the pain as he turned to Aizawa.

"Who's doing things halfway now Aizawa-sensei?" he asked, grinning through the pain.

"This kid, he really has potential." Aizawa thought, but he was interrupted as Bakugou began running towards Izuku with his hands sparking.

"DEKU YOU BASTARD, TELL ME HOW YOU DID THAT RIGHT NOW!" he screamed as he made his way across the field.

Aizawa was quick to use his quirk on Bakugou and his scarf to stop his student's forward momentum.

"Stop making me use my quirk so much, I have dry eye dammit!" Aizawa yelled as he dropped Bakugou, who had seemingly stopped his assault, so he could administer eye drops to his now red eyes.

"Now I know where I've seen you before! You're the Erasure Hero: Eraserhead!" Izuku exclaimed

"Huh, so someone actually knows me." Aizawa said as if he were surprised, but his demeanor implied that he was indifferent to someone knowing his pro name "I usually try to stay out of the media given the nature of my work though. Go and finish the rest of your tests, your place in this class is still on the line."

After the last remaining tests, the scores were tallied and someone would have to go home early.

Once the results were posted everyone breathed a sigh of relief, seeing as how they managed to keep their spot in the hero course, all except one student who was incredibly short and had purple ball-shaped hair. As he was crying, Aizawa got everyone's attention.

"Yeah so, I lied," Aizawa said with a smug grin

The entire class was dumbfounded at their teacher's words. The purple ball-headed student stopped crying once he heard this news.

"It was a logical ruse to get you all to try your best, and you all passed," Aizawa said

"Wait, I thought you all knew?" A girl with black hair tied into a spiky ponytail said "It's only the first day of class, so I thought it was obvious that he was lying. I guess I should have said something."

"Yeah, you should have." was the general thought process of the rest of the class.

"There are packets that detail what will be expected of you now that you're in the hero course on your desks." Aizawa said getting everyone's attention again "It'll also go over all the facilities that UA has to offer as well as the rules and regulations of the school. Be sure to go over it thoroughly. Once you're done class is dismissed for the day."

After all was said and done, class 1-A went back to their homeroom and saw that there were indeed packets on their desks. As they all began to socialize, Izuku took his packet and began to head out.

"Ah Izuku, are you leaving already?" Kendo asked as she walked over to him.

"Yeah, since we had a half-day I figured I'd go over to my sensei's dojo so I can do some training," Izuku said.

"Oh, this is the same sensei that thought you martial arts right?" Kendo asked.

"Yes, the very same," Izuku replied.

"Oh, are you both heading to the train already?" Uraraka asked.

"Yeah, did you want to come with us?" Kendo asked.

"Sure thing," Uraraka replied with a smile.

"Ah, may I accompany you as well?" Iida asked, joining the conversation.

"Ah, okay," Izuku said as they all made their way to the train station.

Before he knew it, Izuku realized that he had made three new friends on his first day of school.
