Chapter 7
Let's get a little more sex in before we move this plot forward :P
The smile slipped from Hermione's face.
"What did you say?"
Draco sat up, reaching for his wand he previously placed on the night stand. With a quick wave, a small box flew from the dresser and landed in his hands.
"I hadn't yet decided how I wanted to present you with this."
Hermione wrapped a sheet around her body, covering herself up. Eyes wide and glued to the boy sitting before her. It was clear his intentions were nothing but genuine.
"But we're mated."
Draco nodded, "Any veela male that tries to come onto you will know you are already taken by another. I want everyone to know it, need them to know you are mine. I know you aren't fond of pureblood tradition, but it means everything to me. Claiming you in every way possible."
Hermione licked her lips. He was right, this possessive 'only I can have you' crap, is not her ideal. It was inherently Draco/a veela things. She knew that when she decided to be with him, she is with him in spite of those things. It's how he had been taught to show his affections.
Slowly nodding her head, Hermione flushed.
Draco grinned, opening the black leather box. The ring was beautiful but showy, very Malfoy. Hermione was happy the diamonds were not the size of a golden snitch.
The ring was a shiny sliver, with diamonds all around the band. Then a bunch of smaller stones surrounded a larger stone.
"I belonged to my great grandmother." Draco explained, reaching for her left hand.
Hermione pulled back. "It's not going to curse me, is it?"
Draco smirked, "I would of, before I took it to a curse breaker. He assured me, placing this ring on you finger will not result in your harm."
Hermione rolled her eyes, giving him her hand.
The ring fit perfectly around her slim finger, the couple starred down at it.
"It's beautiful."
"You're everything to me." His lips were on hers.
Draco pulled her into his lap, pulling the blanket away so he could be skin to skin with her.
Hermione was flustered, taking a couple moments to catch up with him.
Draco already had her up on her knees so she could take him inside her. Hermione fumbled for Draco's shoulders to regain some balance.
"Come 'er." He growled.
Pulling her lips to his and pushing her down until he was once again buried inside her breathtaking body.
Hermione jerked upward as he hit her cervix, eye brows pulling together.
Draco shook his head, pulling her back down. She could take all of him, he knew she could. This position was a deep one, he wanted her to be filled to the brim with him.
Hermione pulled her lips away, panting against Draco's cheek. They had never had sex in this position before and it was entirely overwhelming.
"That's my girl." He kissed her cheek, muttering against it. "You feel good?"
Hermione nodded, Hermione reached a hand behind her and cupped Draco's balls. He moaned and snapped his hips up into hers. Draco was always going out of his way to make her feel good, Hermione wanted to make sure it was not always so one sided.
Lifting her hips, Hermione started a small bounce on top of him.
This moment is why she could look passed all the years of name calling, the possessive, over protective behaviour. Draco Malfoy loved her.
.
The couple ventured back into the kitchen an hour later. Draco threw out the half cooked food, and started putting together something else.
"How many horcruxes do you have?"
"Four down, 3 left to find. Honestly, it's taking a lot longer than we thought it would."
Draco nodded, dipping a piece of bread into egg and dropping it in a frying pan.
"You're telling me the great Dumbledore didn't leave a map of each horcrux and where to find it?"
Hermione rolled her eyes. "No, he didn't. We think one is somewhere inside hogwarts, Harry is pretty sure the snake is also one."
Draco looked back at her. "Nagini, make's sense. She's always by his side. What about the final one?"
Hermione pressed her fingers to her temples, "No clue. We are hoping to find another clue the more horcruxes we destroy. It's not the best laid plan, but it really is all we've got." Hermione decided to leave out the part where Harry and Voldemort's minds seem to be merging.
"Where do you think it is in Hogwarts?"
"We think it could be Ravenclaws lots diadem. Slytherin had the chamber of secrets, what if the other three houses have a secret chamber as well?"
"It would make sense. I guess that'll give me something to do while i'm hiding out at Hogwarts."
"You aren't hiding out, you'll be laying in waiting."
Draco rolled his eyes. "Hiding."
Hermione brought some plates over to Draco for him to drop the french toast onto.
"Very impressive Malfoy. I didn't know you could cook."
"Mother and I use to make it. It was her favourite breakfasts food."
Hermione smiled, sitting down at the table. She tried to soak up the quiet and feeling of safety, in just 24 hours that feeling was going to be gone. There was a lot left to be done, Hermione could only hope for their victory.
.
The next morning Hermione got up and showered. She had told Draco she would wait for two full days before leaving, but they were waisting time. Hermione slipped from bed and made her way to the kitchen.
She made omelettes for them both, hoping Draco would not be as feisty with food in his belly. Wishful thinking on her part.
"Why are you dressed like that?" He snapped, the smell of breakfast pulling him from his sleepy state.
When he found his mate was not in bed with him, Draco followed the delicious smell leading him to the kitchen.
Hermione spun, "I'm making breakfast."
Draco shook his head. "You said two days. It's not even been 24 hours."
"Voldemort isn't resting or taking breaks. As lovely as this is, I need to get back."
Draco shook his head. "Hermione!"
"I'm healed, I feel fine!"
"But I'm not! I don't care how selfish it is, I need us to be together!"
"I can't stay here and you can't come with me. I don't know what to do, Draco."
"Guess I should be happy you're sticking around to talk about it, not just disappearing in the middle of the night."
"You have yet to return my wand. While I can preform some wandless magic, disapperation requires a wand."
Draco nodded, heading back into the bedroom, coming back moments later with her wand.
"Thank you." Hermione felt at ease with her wand back in her grasp.
Draco starred at her for moments, the tension building between them.
"I'll take you to them this afternoon. Please, just give me the morning."
"I can do that. Besides I have omelettes to make."
Draco was stuck to Hermione like glue for the rest of the morning. Touching her, kissing her, being in her space. Trying to prepare himself for their impending separation. He felt the panic creeping into his mind, the though of living without her again. He did not even have a timeline, an ending date to hold on to. All he can do for now is hold her close while he still has her.
.
Draco pulled Hermione into a filthy kiss, holding her tight. She had given him the morning together, now it was time he made good on his side of the bargain. As he pulled away from her Draco waved his wand.
"Hermione!"
Harry and Ron rushed to her as they landed in a small living room. They pulled her into their arms, it had been a long couple days without her. They worried for her, if she had indeed gotten out of the manor, or if she was still being torture within its walls.
"You guys ok?" She asked them.
They nodded, "Dobby got us out, god Hermione your screams."
The girl in question shook her head, trying not to think about it. "I'm ok, Draco healed me."
It was then the boys realized the blonde Slytherin had accompanied their friend.
"Malfoy." Harry nodded, Draco returned the greeting.
"He's not coming with us, is he?" Ron asked, eyes wide.
Hermione shook her head. "Don't be rude. Draco is going to Hogwarts, he'll start trying to locate Ravenclaws lost diadem."
Harry seemed to like the idea. "Good good, that will give us more time to focus on figuring out what the last horcrux is."
"Before you lot were brought to the manor, it seemed like something shifted. Voldemort is gearing up for something, exciting the death eaters."
"You think he's going to march on the castle?" Harry guessed.
"I can't be certain, but if I had to guess-"
Ron sighed, "He know's we're getting close."
Hermione started pacing. "We're taking too long, we need to get moving."
Harry agreed, "We need to leave, now. While we were separated, he invaded my mind multiple times. We need to do this before he figures it out."
"He is not stupid, he must feel it."
The boys started packing up their stuff, anything they have to bring with them.
"Ok." Harry sighed. "Let's go."
Hermione turned to Draco. "Be careful."
His jaw was clenched, like it was taking everything in him not to grab her, lock her back in their safe house.
"A month Hermione. If you aren't at Hogwarts in a month, I'm coming after you."
.
It was three weeks later when the trio invaded Hogwarts via the underground tunnels.
"HERMIONE!" Draco screamed as he ran as fast as he could toward her.
"Go back up Harry, Ron and I need to get a basilisk fang from the chamber."
Ron was pulling on her arm to keep them moving, while Draco took down a death eater trying to get to them.
"Granger!" Draco caught Ginny Weasley being tackled by a werewolf.
"I'll be back!"
Draco screamed as he turned toward the werewolf, blasting him off the young girl. Running to her aid.
"Malfoy?"
"Are you ok?"
Ginny blinked in fright. "Yeah, yes. Thank you."
He pulled Ginny to her feet. "Come on, the line is weakening on the south side, they need our help."
Ginny ran with him, stunning a couple death eaters on the way.
"You're helping us?"
"Malfoy's are on the right side of history this time around."
Ginny shot him a raised eye brow. "I guess we'll see."
That was the last of that, they threw themselves back into battle.
.
"POTTER!" Draco threw his wand to the newly revived Harry, as he grabbed Hermione's hand.
Death eaters started to disapperate as Voldemort set his sights to Harry. Neville held the sword above his head, bringing it swiftly down severing Nagini's head from her slithering body.
Voldemort's body jerked as he felt the last horcrux containing his soul get killed off.
Harry and Voldemort face off across the court yard. Hermione made like she was going to stand by his side, but Draco pulled her to his chest. Refusing to let her go this time, this was Potters battle.
The crowd held their breath as the two cast their finale spells. They watched as Harry's magic encroached on Voldemort's. Seconds later it was over, the evil snake was dead. Draco kiss Hermione fiercely, no longer needing to hide his undying love for the muggleborn.
Taking her engagement ring from his pocket, Draco slid it back on to her scrapped up hand. It will be his dying day, if she ever removes this ring from her person again. Draco understood why she could not wear it the last month. If she were caught again, the Malfoy jewels would be easily recognized and she would be killed.
It did not make her giving it back to him any less heartbreaking.
"The hell do you think you're doing Granger?"
Hermione slipped her engagement ring from her finger. "I'll be back for this. Keep it safe for me."
Draco clenched his jaw, holding his hand open to catch the ring.
"Go." He muttered, pulling his lips from hers.
Ron was already making his way across the court yard to Harry, Draco gave her a push to go join them. He noticed his parents standing off to the side, waiting from him.
Soon they would be taken in and questioned for their crimes, Draco wanted a moment with them first.
.
The trio fell to their knees. 7 years of school, dangerous adventures, deadly tournaments and finally it seemed their journey had come to an end.
"You did it." Ron told him.
"We did it." Harry corrected. "Together."
"What are we going to do with our time now?"
Hermione rolled her eyes at Ron. "Repeat our last year?"
"The schools all dust and rubble. Doubt any learnings going to get done 'ere."
Harry held the elder wand between them, hidden from the crowd. "We rebuild it."
"Oh my god, Harry. You have the elder wand."
The young boy nodded.
"What are you going to do with it?" Ron answered.
"I'm going to destroy it. As soon as our home is fixed."
Hermione nodded in agreement. "That's brave Harry."
Hermione was now an orphan just like Harry, Hogwarts was their only reliable home from here on out.
"No wizard needs that much power. Great power has done nothing but destroy and kill. I don't want this wand to fall into the wrong hands."
Harry hide the lean stick of wood as the three turned to face the school.
"Where do we start?" Hermione asked.
"How bout with the snogging you and Malfoy displayed over there."
Hermione blushed, slapping Ron's shoulder. "We weren't snogging, it was just a little kiss."
"Right, with tongue."
Harry laughed as his two friends went back and forth. The only place that ever felt like home to him was in ruin, but the two people he loved were alive and beside him. Where they had always been. That is all he ever hoped to ask for when they set out on their own. That they would still be standing by his side at the end of it all.
"Come Ronald, grab a broom." Hermione sighed.
"A broom!? Gonna need more than a little broom to fix this mess."
The crowd of students, teachers and wizards started to descend on the small group. Hermione started looking around, trying to spot blonde hair.
Back near the entrance of the school, she saw a group of three blondes standing together.
Hermione started to wonder if Draco would be coming back to redo his seventh year with them.
LAST THREE CHAPTERS ARE GOING TO BE ABOUT THEIR FINALE YEAR AT HOGWARTS. Lot's of Derminoie relationship stuff.
XOXO thank you for sticking with me while I tried my hand at the Harry Potter universe. See ya'll next week!
