(After The Duel Against Steria In The Duel Period, At Duel Academy Dormitory)
"Okay, Okay, I think I get the gist of everything. Boy, aren't you the daring type."
Arata sat back on his bed, his head resting on the soft pillows as he stared across to his roommate who sat cross-legged on his respected side of the room. The Nexus duelist was currently organizing his deck properly while going over effects, though that wasn't entirely his focus at the moment. After the whole Steria fiasco, the class was oddly quiet and awkward, especially since no one even dared to answer any questions which led to randomly calling out students to participate in the lesson. Worse comes to shove, Seirus was unfortunately the main target for the majority of the class time which kind of annoyed the hell out of him. But he could sorta get since he was the main source of his stress rising since. It didn't help that the little princess decided it was the perfect opportunity to leave class early to which he felt jealous and that the favoritism that she had over the staff and student body was beyond what he could hope to comprehend. On the other hand, he was slightly grateful since he won't have to get into any more trouble with her for the time being despite her being leveled out a bit.
"I'm just glad that's settled for now. Anyways, what have you been up to today?" Seirus asked while picking up a spell that had been lingering in his card trunk for a while.
Arata looked to the ceiling, trying to recall what had gone on with him, "Well, I wouldn't say it as much as you went through but I was busy being dragged all over the place to meet some pro agents that were scouting me out."
"Wow, you got to meet some of the scouts? That's awesome! Hey, you gotta tell me what they said!" Seirus gleamed at him with a wide smile, completely forgetting about the spell card that he was considering to add to his deck.
The young Red-Eyes duelist hummed to himself, "Hmmm, well they first complimented me which was nice. You know, probably because I wield such a famous deck and all. Then they started explaining how the pro league works and what their agencies had to offer in terms of contracts. Though I didn't really care for that all that much. . . ". Seirus tilted his head, his eyes blinking a few times at the earlier part of his explanation.
"Wait, when you mean by 'how the pro league works' do you mean that the rules are different?" He asked.
"Huh, nah nothing like that. Just some protocols and what not. Some stuff being about how match-ups are set up and how to advance into certain tournaments. I mean that's cool and all but the only thing that stood out is the fact that I get to fight stronger opponents." Arata replied.
Seirus's eyes widened at that revelation, "Really? But why though?".
"Well think about it, here in Duel Academy, how many students do you think got in through their parents' money? Now based on that, you have to also think how many of them had their decks bought out for them with the strongest cards and best decks in the game. But none of that amounts to actual strength. Basically, Duel Academy acts like a starting point rather than a be all end all if you get what I mean," Arata pointed out with a smile on his face, "Just think of dueling in duel academy like training wheels. Overtime, you may gain the opportunity to remove those training wheels early on and duel a pro like I did at one point. From there, you start to see the glaring difference between a top 100 academy duelist to a season veteran."
"Wow, when you put it like that then I guess I still have a long way to go," Seirus awed.
"Well, I wouldn't say that much about Seirus. You've defeated not only Aki but also Steria. As of right now, you're already on a roll towards recognition. Just keep dueling like that and we'll probably find ourselves facing off against each other next." Arata encouraged, winking at the Nexus duelist who blushed out of happiness at the possibility.
Ever since he saw Arata's lunch duel against Katsuki, he couldn't help but feel excited. That excitement then turned into a desire to face off against Arata as well though he didn't think he was good enough. The gap between them felt huge, almost as though there was an enormous wall separating two different types of worlds. However, now hearing from the man himself saying that he was in reach was definitely encouraging for him to push himself even harder.
The Nexus duelist balled his fist, trying to contain himself from exploding, "Heheh, alright! I can't wait till that time comes! Until then, I'll just have to get even stronger! HAHAH!". Arata smirked, his eyes showing a fire filled with similar desire.
"Same here, now if you don't mind me, I think I'm going to get some rest. Tomorrow is actually our off day so I actually want to get up early to enjoy it," Arata yawned.
Seirus's wide smile crestfallen into a pout, "Huh, really? I mean, if we don't have class tomorrow then we can stay up without worry. Plus, you said you were going to at least help me out with my deck here."
"Ehhhh, come on I'm tired. Besides, I'm sure you can come up with something on your own," He complained tiredly as he pulled the covers over himself, "Just rely on your own intuition and you'll be able to create a style unique to yourself. . ."
"Huh, what do you mean by that? Arata?" Seirus tried to ask though the sounds of his roommate's snores were all he could hear as a response. He sighed, falling back onto his bed before reaching over to turn off the lights. As the room went dark, he pondered on what Arata had just said before falling to sleep.
He raised his hand in front of his face to which it blocked his field of view on the ceiling, "Intuition, huh?. After muttering those words, he closed his eyes so that he could focus on trying to figure out the meaning behind his advice. Though, perhaps it was a lot simpler than he was giving it credit for. From most of his duels, Seirus knew that he was a more go with the flow type of duelist rather than someone who uses his head and overthink things. Perhaps the same way he duels should be applied into his own deck building and whether stuff fails or works, at the end of the day it's simply trial and error. He smirked at the thought, unknowingly falling asleep with that peaceful thought in mind.
(Scenery Change: Strange, Unknown Location. . . . .)
It was dark. So much so that one would find it impossible to depict their surroundings with a source of minimal light. However, within the darkness was an all too familiar boy who seemed to be floating. He was unaware of what was going on until he began to stir around as if he were asleep. He slowly opened his eyes, blinking a few times in the process of realizing what was going on. Though when he finally became conscious, he wasn't shocked at first. He felt calm but not exactly in a good way but in an unorthodox manner. He tried to move but his body would budge so he decided it was best for him to just sit still and hope to wake up from whatever dream this was. However, one thing came to mind.
"Hmm. . .this is one strange dream that's for sure. I'm pretty sure it's pretty dang rare for someone to be aware during a dream," Seirus noted to himself.
He didn't know how long he stayed like that, though before he could possibly close his eyes in hopes of ending this dream early, something even stranger began to happen. He would have said that his eyes were playing tricks on him for a moment but since this was a dream. . .he guessed that wouldn't be a good excuse now would it. The black space surrounding him began to distort and gain colors, as if this were some sort of old video tape booting up for the first time in ages. The Nexus duelist was clearly wondering what was going on and that he must have been more tired than he thought. However, the colors soon began to slow down into what seemed to be a grassy scenery. The sky was dark yet so clear that you can see a vibrant amount of stars glistening above him.
He almost wanted to reach out and try to touch them until he felt his body being slowly pulled towards the grass. Worried that he may land on something hard, he instinctively tried to use his hands to catch himself though he failed miserably and landed onto a stray pebble.
"Ow. . . , wait. . ." Seirus muttered, after rubbing his butt to ease the pain a bit, "Did I just feel pain. . .I thought this was a dream. . ."
The Nexus duelist was about to ponder on what in the heck was going on until he noticed something off in the distance. It wasn't that far away for him to not notice though he leaned forward in hopes to get a clearer look on what it was. After some time trying to squint and see what it was, he finally managed to get a better description on the unknown figure. Standing off in the distance, Seirus noticed the figure to be a female judging by her long, silky raven hair that was mostly covered by the white hood that was attached to her loosely white dress. Her face was hard to see along with the fact that her bangs blocked out her eyes. Though, despite that Seirus could evidently see the clear smile that matched the glistening gold bracelets that were worn around her wrist and bare feet.
In her hands was most certainly a white baby cloth, however, the baby was hard to see as well so he couldn't make out it's feature. The mysterious women stood in the middle of the grassy field that went over the vast forest below. Seirus raised an eyebrow in complete confusion, "What's she doing out here in the middle of nowhere with a baby in her arms? That's pretty dangerous. . ."
With that thought in mind, he began to stand up in hopes to try and gain her attention so that he could at least get a clue as to what was going on. But that was immediately out of the question as a wave of pain struck him like he had been hit by a bag of bricks straight in his temple. He grabbed his head, his ears ringing from the sudden headache that bang over and over.
"Naagggh-what the hell?!" He groaned, collapsing to his knees from the pain. He gasped, his breathing becoming erratic and less controllable. He felt like he was trapped on top of the largest mountain in the world without a sliver of clothing on. His face was beginning to sweat and his vision began to grow blurry. He looked up, hoping that she would notice that he was going through what seemed to be a random panic attack or something. However, the women he saw get staring happily at the baby until she turned around to see someone else. Someone who he could barely see yet, he could still tell that he was a male due to him being taller by quite a bit and less thin.
Though, that was besides the point during his current predicament. His vision finally caved in and began to grow dark until sudden a flash of multiple scenes washed through Seirus's brain at such speeds that he most certainly couldn't process them all. He groaned loudly, the pain growing more and more until finally he came to one last image. Her face was blurred completely other than the smile she wore on her face that rivaled that of her previous one: only this time she seemed to have been bruised and bleeding from both sides of her lips. With little time to grasp on the scene, all Seirus notice was that her lips were moving yet only one word seemed to have registered in his head.
"Live. . ."
(Returning Back The Duel Academy Boys Dormitory, Seirus and Arata's Room. . .)
"Gwuaaaaaahah!" Seirus loudly gasped as if he were drowning. He shot up from his bed in a drench of sweat, his eyes wide and confused as to what had happen. The Nexus duelist looked down at the comforters beneath him, immediately realizing that he was definitely in his own bed right now, "Hah. . .hah. . .hah. . ."
He took a short breath, his mind still wandering on the dream he had just had. After getting his breathing under control, he looked over towards his bag for a moment and took note that morning had definitely come already. Sighing, he was ready to reflect on everything he just saw until he heard a voice.
"Yo, buddy! Looks like you're finally awake!" Arata chirped with a toothbrush in hand and a towel draped over his neck.
His voice caused Seirus to nearly jump out of his skin, "Awaaaah-Ar-Arata?!". The Red-Eyes duelist raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah, who else would it be? I'm your only roommate," He pointed out, though judging by his expression, he knew something was up, "What, you had a nightmare or something?"
Seirus grimaced at the assumption and chuckled, his hand already scratching the back of his head, "I guess you could say that. Though I'm not sure what it was. . ."
"Mhm, I see. . .," Arata shrugged before tossing him an ID card. Without any effort, Seirus caught the card and took a look to see what it was, immediately noticing that his student photo he had taken early this year was on it. The Red-eyes duelist plopped the toothbrush back into his mouth and walked over to his dresser for a shirt, "That came in today for you. You should keep that close by when we are heading out today."
"Right. . .but why though?" Seirus asked curiously as Arata took out a bright red shirt.
"Well, I was thinking we should head out into the central district's market place. Since you don't know, Duel Academy students get a discount and can enter what we call the battle dome for free." Arata explained.
"Battle dome?" His roommate murmured for a moment, "Wait, you mean that large building that's in the center of the East plaza?"
"Yup, that's the one. It's where most duelists in Diamond Stone City meet up. I heard there was a new card shop that opened today so I wanted to go check it out. I already called up Lucky and the girls so we're set." Arata pointed out.
Seirus nodded, though he was too excited as he wanted to be, "I see. . .well I better get ready then. I'll meet you guys in the reception area so you can go on ahead. Make sure they don't ditch me." Arata chuckled while slipping into his shirt before grabbing one of his brown hoodless jackets.
"Alright, just don't take too long now!" He jested before making his way down the steps.
The Nexus duelist chuckled a bit until he heard the door close from downstairs. He sighed, frowning as his mind unwantedly wandered back on the dream he just had. Why did he have that dream? It was so strange and it almost served no purpose other than giving him a blistering headache. He understood nothing, not a single thing that went on during that dream yet he couldn't help but feel. . .sad? He didn't know why but he felt sorrow despite the dream showcasing much sadness. In fact, he thought it was quite amazing that the sky was so clear that he could see the stars above. However, he did remember one main aspect that occurred at the end. The sea of images and scenes that were so obscured and rapid that he couldn't understand them. Were they just some random mumbo jumbo that happened to make the dream even weirder? No that couldn't be, especially since at the end of the sea of scenes, he was at least able to see one final event with a bit clarity.
"Live. . ." He muttered, his eyes staring down at his open palm. Who was she saying that too, and why did it seem so sad when she said that. Was she saying goodbye? If so, then why is that in his dream? Was it a. . .memory? If so then who's? He pondered for a moment until he remembered that today wasn't the day for him to start worrying about these sorts of things.
It was never his strong suit anyway so all he simply did was smile, "Man, I shouldn't even dwell on it. The cat incident, maybe? But this, yeah too much for me to handle. Besides, we're going to the Battle Dome so I should be looking forward to that, Hahahah!" He pumped his fist into the air out of excitement and kicked his legs out of the bed and onto the floor. Wasting no time, he grabbed some casual clothes out of his own dresser and made his way down the stairs in order to freshen up. It didn't take long for him to find and enter the bathroom for a shower though once he stripped down before turning the faucet, a wave of disappointment hit him straight on.
"Damn it, he took all the hot water!" Seirus complained, his mood slightly sour from having no hot water to work with. Though, he knew he had to suck it up and deal with it for now, his hands going to work with the bar of soap that he had claimed and rag. He scrubbed himself down in all the areas he could think of before reaching for the bottle of shampoo that Arata had told him not to touch.
He huffed to himself at the future complaints he'll be getting while he poured the substance onto the palm of his hands before beginning to wash his hair "His fault for taking all the hot water. . ."
After taking care of his hygiene and rinsing out his hair. He immediately exited the shower and changed his clothes before lastly brushing his teeth. Once he was done, the Nexus duelist left the bathroom to reveal a dark green hoodie with a pair of thick orange stripes that ran along the arms. He matched it quite well with some black pants before finally making his way back up the stairs to retrieve his bag. Once he got up the stairs, he slipped into some white socks before finally grabbing his greenish-blue bag that he had bought recently from the student shop and threw it over his shoulder.
"All ready to go, and I have the ID card in my pocket like Arata said." Seirus smirked as he slipped into his pair orange and red sneakers that he brought from home. He squealed, unable to contain his excitement, "Maybe if I pray hard enough, I can get a duel against Arata!"
(Meanwhile, In Duel Academy Dormitory Reception Area. . .)
The reception area was filled with numerous students chatting and hanging out as they waited for their friends before heading out. One such group was getting rather impatient as they stood at the front entrance ready to go. Aki folded her arms, her clothing still the same as her school uniform while Momo was dressed in a blue cardigan and white pants, her purse hanging from her shoulder as she skimmed through her phone. Awkwardly however, Lucky was fiddling with his thumbs at being around two girls alone, his voice seemingly clogged in his throat. Other than that, he seemed to be dressed nicely due to him wearing gray color jeans with a red button-down shirt that was covered by a yellow cardigan.
"What's taking them so long?" Momo complained as she looked up from her phone to see if she could spot them approaching, "They should have been ready by now."
Aki sighed, her finger tapping her arm in a rhythm that matched her impatience, "I told you we should have left them behind. Boys always tend to be late no matter what." Lucky looked nervously over to the side seeing how he was the only boy there. Though due to that, he had to defend his bro's honor no matter what.
"Heheh, come on. You can't blame Bro for that, especially after everything that happened yesterday," Lucky argued before adding, "Besides, I'm a guy and I came here before you two."
There was a long moment of silence, so much that the sounds of the other students chattering seemed to fall to deaf ears. After a couple of more seconds, the two girls gasped in shock at what he just said: their eyes wide and devoid of color as their mouths dropped. They were so shocked that even their hands instinctively went to their jaws in hopes of preventing them from widening even further than they already have.
"You're a boy!"
They both shouted, causing Lucky to tense and freeze on the spot. A mixture of pain and embarrassment hit him directly in the heart, his face flush and bright red, "Of course I am! Why would you two think I was a girl!"
Momo giggled and waved innocently, "Relax, Lucky. We were just kidding, right Aki."
"You were kidding? Cause I wasn't," She replied almost immediately, earning a shocking gasp from the timid duelist, "I mean look at you, who wouldn't think that at first glance. . ."
"What do you mean? I'm totally man-manly right?! Come on, Momo you have to agree with me on this," Lucky pleaded in defense.
The girl in question cupped her chin and tilted her head to the side. She thought for a moment, almost as if she was trying to choose between life and death until she finally answered, "Now that I take a closer look, Aki may be on to something. . ."
"HUH?! YOU GOT TO BE KIDDING, UGHHH!" He cried, his body and facial expression sulking at the agreement.
His head lay low as Momo was trying to come up with something to say in hopes to cheer him up while Aki seemed to have lost interest in the topic. She was about to go and try to drag them out of their rooms for making them wait so long since it wouldn't be hard to accomplish with her powers and all. Though right on time, Arata came through the crowd and spotted the gang hanging out in the front of the exit.
"Yo, sorry to keep y'all waiting. I had to wake Seirus up after getting dressed," Arata waved with a welcoming smile on his face.
Aki raised an eyebrow as he grouped up with them, "Why didn't you wake him up once you woke up? If you did that then both of you would be here right now and we'd be on our way."
"I would have but. . ." Arata murmured in a matter-of-fact tone, "I wanted all the hot water to myself. I consider it payback for him using my favorite shampoo without asking."
"Well guess we still have to wait a bit longer. . .," She sighed until a voice responded to her assumption.
"Wait a bit longer for who exactly?"
They all turned to the owner of the voice who was smiling back at them in a child-like manner. He took his right hand out his pockets and waved, "Yo, guess I didn't take as long as you guys thought I would. That said, what's wrong with Lucky?"
"Morning, Seirus. Don't mind him, he's just upset that both Aki and I think he looks like a girl," Momo waved back.
Seirus nodded and cupped his chin in a similar manner to how Momo did before, "Hmmm, seems just about right. I thought it was just me."
"OH COME ON, NOT YOU TOO BRO!" Lucky snapped in complete utter shock.
The Nexus duelist chuckled, his joke actually gaining a response. Ignoring his little friend's glare, he turned to Arata and Aki with a smile, "Anyways, ready to go. If so, lead the way!"
"You bet! We better get a move on before it gets too crowded. Last time a new card shop opened, bodies were flying and someone managed to walk out with 7 duel disks scot free," Arata noted.
Seirus mouth dropped and his eyes sparkled, "Really?! Wild!"
"Yup, so let's go, my good people! Onward!" Arata chirped, his fist pumped into the air as he marched towards the door.
Seirus pumped his fist into the air as well and marched forward behind him while Momo giggled at their enthusiasm. On the other hand, Lucky and Aki sighed before following them as well. They couldn't help but think that with this group, they might have to change their names from all sorts of trouble that may happen. Though, today shouldn't be that bad. I mean, what could possibly happen that didn't happen yet?
(Now At Diamond Stone City Central District, East Plaza Market Area. . .)
"WOW! This place is big!"
Seirus gleamed at the large battle dome that towered in front of him that it nearly blocked the sunlight. He squealed, his excitement so loud and out there that people somewhat stared at the high schooler who seemed to be acting like a child at an amusement park for the first time. Though, "seemed" was a stretch since it was clearly what he was acting like at this very moment. His wide grin was so innocent that his fellow students could swear that he was producing luminance so bright that they had to subconsciously take a few steps back before their eyes got burned out of their sockets.
"You're really happy today for someone who looked half-dead when he woke up?" Arata chuckled.
Seirus turned around, choosing to ignore his remark and continue to smile, "Are you kidding, why wouldn't I be excited. Besides, this is a step up from dealing with Steria's whole fiasco yesterday so I'm pumped!"
"Whatever you say buddy," He responded with playful sarcasm, "Anyways, let's get going. I'm hoping to finally pull a couple of Solemn Warnings for my deck."
"Alright! Let's go!" the Nexus duelist responded, spinning on his feet before charging forward.
Arata laughed and followed in a similar manner as the other three companions were looking more and more like the mature ones out of the group. Aki shook her head, "When did this trip go from refreshing outing to possibly us baby sitting two idiots."
"Look on the bright side, at least we aren't dealing with boring classes for a whole day," Momo pointed out.
Lucky nodded, adding, "Yeah, and for once we'll have a nice day off without getting into trouble it seems. We better enjoy it while it lasts."
"Whatever you, say." Aki murmured, her feet beginning to walk after the two duel enthusiasts that were running around like they didn't have a lick of common sense.
Momo giggled and followed them as well, leaving Lucky to be about the last one to move. However, he suddenly froze from a rather strange and unsettling feeling creeping up his back. It was hard to describe but after some thinking he could only assume one thing. Was he. . .no they were being followed and watched? His face went pale, his body not daring to look back to confirm his suspicions. Though, after gulping down built-up saliva from his own nervousness, he peeked behind him a bit until a voice snapped him out of it.
"Hey Lucky!" Seirus called, causing him to jump a bit before turning to see his goofy expression, "Come on, or we'll leave you behind!"
Considering that he wasn't exactly feeling at ease at the moment from the possible fact that they were getting stalked already pushed him towards the idea of hurrying up, "Ri-right! Wait up guys!"
As he jogged towards them, he began to disappear deeper and deeper into the crowd that moved along with their days. However, after he had finally disappeared, a figure dressed in old run-down cloaks with a hood stepped into the open. He smirked, his chin obviously having not been shaved in months as he stared forward. Before long, a smaller figure stepped through as well, this one being a bit chubby and rounded in size.
"Hey, those kids. . ." the smaller one murmured, his voice indicating that he was most certainly male.
The taller one nodded, his grin forming from where his ally was going with this, "Yeah, they know the bratty princess. If we can capture them and convince them to work with us then it'll make our job easier."
"That's right, and once that's done, we'll retrieve what we came for and return it back to master so that we'll be one step closer. . ." He chuckled in response to his companion's explanation.
The two smirked sinisterly, their eyes now glued onto enacting their plan so that they can complete their mission. A mission that had more on the surface than any other ordinary mission, all the while leaving the kids who seemed completely oblivious to the dangers that lurked around and are currently targeting them.
(Now Inside The Battle Dome, Diamond Stone City Central District, East Plaza. . .)
"Phew, I'm stuff! The food here sure is amazing!" Seirus complimented with a satisfied sigh.
Currently, the Duel Academy students were enjoying their order of fast-food at a lunch table that was resting just near the numerous duel arenas. As Arata opened pack after pack, currently failing multiple times over to pull a single copy of Solemn Warning to which it kind of makes you wonder how hard it could possibly be to pull one card. Though, his frustrations were drowned by the numerous cheers and roars coming from the crowds that surrounded the current duels going on. Interestingly enough, Seirus had his eyes glued on the duels most of the time. With a smile on his face, he sip some of the last bits of his soda as he watched a Dark Horus get cleaved in two by a XX-Saber Gottoms in which it resulted in the rest of that duelist's life points to get completely erased. As the victor cheered along with the crowd, Momo couldn't help but ask the Nexus duelist a question.
"Hey, Seirus," She called, snapping his gaze from the duels and onto his friend, "I've been meaning to ask but, why haven't you jumped into the crowd and started dueling yet? I thought you'd be thrilled."
Seirus froze for a moment before putting down his drink with a chuckle escaping his lips, "Well, I wanted to but then I remember that my old man told me that I shouldn't showcase my deck in public until I have his permission."
"Huh? Is it that rare of a deck that you have to keep it secret?" Momo wondered with rather surprise and wide eyes.
Aki raised an eyebrow, adding, "I don't see the problem. I mean, you dueled just fine back in Duel Academy. In fact, the rumors about you have spread to nearly the entire student body by now."
"Well, that's Duel Academy. I'm supposed to duel there for grades anyways but out here it's different. My old man only gave me permission to duel on campus and that's that," Seirus explained a bit more.
The girls frowned, unable to understand as to why he had to keep his unique cards a secret. But they knew they couldn't just force him to duel right now without somehow meeting up with his old man and practically beating the permission out of him. Though, with that said, that also brought up another question for Momo, "Wait, you keep bringing up your old man? You mean you live with your grandpa?"
"Huh? Oh no, he's not my grandpa or anything like that," Seirus laughed, "He's actually my foster father."
"Foster father? So you're adopted?!" She exclaimed, the revelation shocking at least more than half the table.
Confused, the Nexus duelist wondered what was the big deal, "Uh, Yeah. . . .? I don't see what's the surprise here. I mean, he's still my dad and we're family now so-"
"What do you mean?! No one would be able to guess that at first glance, Bro!" Lucky complained.
"Hmm, you got a point but regardless. . ." Seirus smirked, the memories between him and Leonardo, "He's a good pops, that's for sure."
They all stared at him as he cupped his drink with a tighter grip than normal. His wholesome smile was different, especially since most of the time he always had that goofy and wide grin on his face. This one was more wholesome and honest, and it clearly indicated that he has great respect for his foster father despite them not even being related. That alone made them feel a bit of goodness inside, a nice feeling of being friends with a secretly down-to-Earth person. Though, their moment of bonding was put to an abrupt halt when they suddenly heard footsteps coming towards them.
Instinctively, they turned to see who it was, only to see a young boy with brown hair and eyes, his face clearly indicating something was wrong as he gripped the bottom of his blue and white striped T-Shirt. His bare knees due to his shorts were shaking out of fear though they could tell he was trying to be brave, almost so hard that he was desperate.
"Awww, what's the matter little buddy?" Momo asked softly, in hopes of trying not to scare him.
The boy looked up and was met with questioning stares though he steeled himself with courage, "M-my dad. . .he's hurt and is in trouble. I don't know wha-what else to d-do!"
"He's hurt? Where is he?" Lucky pressed further.
"H-he's upstairs but. . ." He stuttered, pausing in between sniffles.
Seirus felt a tinge of pain in his heart though he couldn't understand exactly why until he decided to ask, "But what?"
"Some mean guys are beating him up. The-they said go get the people with a little blonde girl and red hair girl wearing a uniform. . ." He admitted.
At that moment, Lucky felt a thousand arrows shoot through him at once. Not only had he been called a girl by basically everyone that he was friends with, he was even called a girl by a little kid. He slumped down onto the floor, his hand and knees clearly in defeat to where he didn't even notice Momo patting his bat in hopes to comfort him. On the other hand, Seirus stood up from his seat and walked over to the boy in question.
He kneeled down and pat both of his shoulders, causing the boy to look up at his wide smile, "Don't worry, I'll get your pops back in no time at all. Just lead the way little bud."
"Re-really!" The boy gasped, his eyes brightening up with hope.
"Of course, I promise!" Seirus chuckled, his legs standing up as he looked back at his friends, "You guys wait here, this won't take long."
"Yeah right, don't hog all the fun yourself. I'm coming too!" Arata chirped, tossing the last card from his booster pack to the side.
Seirus smiled, nodding with approval, "Fine, you can come too. I'll be counting on Lucky to pay the bill."
Hearing this, Lucky looked up with absolute shock. His mouth dropped open as complaints went flying out of his mouth in disbelief, "Hey wait! We agreed on equal pay!"
"Sorrynotimetowaste! Gottago, BYE!" Seirus said rapidly before speed off with the boy in hand.
Arata laughed as he chased after them in a hurry, leaving the girls along with Lucky at the table. The timid duelist was left in shock and the words that he said earlier were echoing through his head over and over again. He couldn't help but laugh a bit, seeing how he was subconsciously right about jinxing it for the rest of the day. Though, a small bit of laughter soon turned into absolute rage as he screamed to the heavens itself.
"SEIRUSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!"
A/N: Yo, long time no see. Been a while since I updated. . .well any of my stories. Don't worry, I am still working on them as I deal with college and well. . .life in general. Now, this will be an important announcement since this will affect the uploads of chapters and how consistent they are posted. I've been thinking about splitting up the months on what chapters should be worked on and posted. This is due to having three stories and two of them in the main stories I am interested in (Yugioh Re:Seize! and Dragon Ball:Tenkai). Anima Remnants will be the slower uploads out of the three but in addition to that, I was thinking a 3 month time period for between the two stories should be good. Meaning for three months will be nothing but Dragon Ball: Tenkai chapter uploads and grinding while another 3 months will be Yugioh Re:Seize! And yes, the amount of chapters will vary based on the mood I am in so please don't be too disappointed if a single chapter isn't posted in 3 months of time working on them. Remember, I'm putting these chapters out in bulks (8-15k words on Tenkai is no joke I'll tell you that much and Yugioh Re:Seize is harder to trim down due to duels and such).
Now onto the chapter itself, sorry that there isn't a duel this chapter. In fact, just know that every time I write a chapter and develop a plot, I always have a set "Endpoint" where the chapter should end. Just note that this is the beginning of the first arc and Yugioh Re:Seize is a pretty long story and could possibly surpass Dragon Ball Tenkai in length. Especially since they will be separated in volumes. Now that said, if I am feeling up to it, I'm considering welcoming some OC's but that's a HUGE "IF". To give a small spoiler, once of the OC's in this story that'll appear later on will be one that I think will be nostalgic for all you yugioh 5D's fans. Especially if you play the games *Wink* *Wink*. But I'll leave you all to guess who that is because that OC is technically a self insert but the name will be from my brother's character. Anyways, that's enough from me, I hope you enjoyed this chapter and next chapter will be the duel! Until next time!
P.S: Dragon Ball Tenkai Chapter Dropping today as well :P.
