A/N: Yes, I know there is a lot that is going on. Bear with me. Raven will appear around chapter 10 or 11.

I decided to use Batwoman and Batwing from DCAMU since they may be more familiar to you. Everyone else will be a combination of comics and DCAMU minus Dick and Raven who are an extension of Teen Titans show with my adjustments to them since they are older.

Sorry for the grammar

Also, I released my AU Raven x Damian story called A Slave for Her. Check it out.

Sins against the Family

Ch 7: USB

Helena came out of the room, holding her bedsheets in her arms. She headed toward the washing machine in her apartment and dumped them inside. After pouring laundry detergent in, she closed the lid and started the machine.

When she turned around, she jumped. Selina was standing behind her with a whip in her hand.

"I thought that you were a cat burglar."

Helena raised an eyebrow. "It's noon. Who would steal something during this time of day."

Selina raised an eyebrow. "You'll be surprised," she yawned out.

"I feel like there is a story behind that."

"There is. I might tell you one day when you are older."

"I think that I'm old enough now."

Selina smirked at her before stretching, whip in hand. "How are you feeling? Do you want breakfast?"

For the last couple of days, her energy and strength had returned. While she didn't feel a hundred percent back to normal, she felt fine and she told Selina so. "As for brunch, I think that I will cook from now on. "

"You won't get an argument from me. Wake me up when you are done." She turned to go back to the spare room, closing the door behind her room.

"Well, I see that someone has made themselves at home." She mumbled before heading to the linen closet. She had hoped that now that she was better, Selina would go home. She was grateful for all of her help but she wanted her space back.

As she reached for new sheets, she heard a knock on the door. Her face scrunched up in confusion. She placed the sheets back in the closet and marched towards the door. She rarely had visitors that would knock on her door. And rarely meant never.

"Who is it?" She asked as she moved closer to the door. No one answered. She asked again, only to get the same reply.

She peeped through the small hole in the door. She saw no one. She reached for her gun that she had hidden under the small table next to the door.

It clicked and she slowly opened her apartment door. She looked to the right and left of the empty hallway before quickly glancing up. You had to be careful of ninjas.

However, the only ninja that was on the ceiling was a small spider that was building a web. She scanned the hallway one last time. No door was cracked opened. Everything was as it should be. She sighed. As she was about to close the door, she noticed a small envelope on the floor.

She cautiously bent down, picked it up, and entered her apartment, closing and locking the door behind her.

She placed her gun back into her hiding place.

She looked at the elegant handwriting on the small envelope. Her face marred with confusion as she read her name as well as Selina's name on it.

She turned it around, unsealed it, and peeked inside. A USB was the only thing that it contained.

She took it out and analyzed it while strolling to her office. She opened her laptop and powered it on. She sat down and waited until the computer asked for her password. She logged in then after a few seconds, she stuck the drive in.

A video immediately popped up.

"Bruce," she whispered as she leaned closer to the screen.

She watched as he unlaced his hands and rubbed the sides of his forehead."Where do I begin?..."

He asked before inhaling deeply.

"Okay. Let's begin there." He nodded to himself and rested his hand on top of each other on the table in front of him.

"Selina Kyles. I didn't meet her when I returned from my seven-year-long trip. I don't know if you remember but I used to be fascinated by your theater makeup, especially face reconstruction. It's surprising who you could become with makeup." He smiled gently. "I used to practice constantly to get my skills on par with yours. As you know, that never happened. However, I was able to create one face, one person, without fail. I called that persona Bob Henry. Bob Henry was an impoverished teenager from the wrong side of Gotham.

"He was the one that met the young Selina and her crew. They took him in and showed him the ropes. I know that I gave you many grey hairs from coming home late at night and not answering your calls...sorry."

He coughed and shifted in his seat with steady eyes. "I became infatuated with them and their actions. I was infatuated with her. Many events occurred between her and me.

Eventually, she became pregnant.

"She wasn't in a position to raise the child as an orphan teenager, and she didn't think I was in one either. I never told her otherwise.

"In fact, the last conversation that she and Bob had was Selina informing Bob that she was giving the baby up for adoption.

"Years later, I became curious about the first grandchild of Martha and Thomas Wayne. I tracked her down. It seemed that the child had already found me first.

"Helena Rose Bertinelli, also known as the Huntress. You must have been curious as to why I gave her my mother's jewelry box in my will. Now you know.

"Helena, the child that Selina gave up at birth, was adopted by Maria and Franco Bertinelli who couldn't have children on their own. The results of being raised and trained by a mafia family are as you have seen.

"I pity her. Not as her father, but some who could relate to seeing their parents murdered in front of her. I pity her as Batman, never as a father.

"We never really spoke about it but I figured that you must have known that I never wanted to have kids. To me that night in the alley, I died along with my parents, officially ending the line of the Waynes. I was supposed to be the last Wayne.

"I thought that I had taken care of that. Allowing Helena to be my only child. During my seven years away from Gotham, I got a vasectomy.

"So, you could imagine my surprise when Talia showed up with Damian. If it wasn't for the boy's appearance and the DNA test, I would have denied it furiously ."

The video ended with a ... Helena didn't know how to describe the emotions that she was feeling. But she did know one thing.

"Selina!"

She got up too impatient to wait. "Selina." She marched to the guest room, which opened.

"What's going on?" Selina asked. Sleep was still in her voice.

Helena grabbed her wrist and dragged her to the chair that she had occupied and forced her to sit down.

"You better have a good reason for pulling me around like I'm a dog."

"That!" She pointed to the screen.

Selina turned her head then her body. "Bruce." She grabbed the mouse that was connected to the laptop via BlueTooth and started the video from the beginning.

When the video was over, she turned to Helena shaken with widened eyes.

What in the heck did they just watch?

Cassandra was bored but happy. Anxious but content. Although she liked to hang out with Stephanie, she wasn't used to staying in one place for multiple nights.

She was used to moving around. Some nights, she would sleep at Barbs' place, other nights she would stay at Stephanie's, and if she wasn't at either of those places, which were her favorites, she could be found at the Manor or the random places that she had taken a liking to.

Alfred once asked why she moved around a lot. She hadn't been able to answer the question. It had bothered her for weeks until she came up with the most acceptable answer: Staying in one place no matter how good or bad it was made her jumpy. Why? She didn't know.

Nevertheless, once their quarantine was over she planned to go to her favorite hideout before she left with Stephanie and Tim to find Bruce and after visiting Alfred in the hospital.

Her mind grew cloudy at the thought of Alfred and Bruce. She was worried about Alfred, and she didn't know if Bruce was dead or alive. After what happened with 'Mother',* she was able to find a true family with members of the Bat-Family. Yet, for some odd reason, it felt as if she was currently losing her family.

Tap. Tap.

Cassandra's head fell back on Steph's bed as she looked towards the window. She stared curiously at the creature as it tapped against the window again.

She flipped over the bed and landed in front of the window. She opened it and watched as a bird, a robin, carrying a small envelope entered the room. She walked to the small robin and untied the letter.

It chirped at her before flying out. She observed the robin leaving the room before looking back at the letter that had' Stephanie Brown' written on it.

"Why do you have the window open?" Stephanie walked into the room, carrying two fast food bags that had been delivered to the apartment.

"Bird ...mail." Cassandra said. Her speaking skills had improved over the years. However, when she said words that weren't usually used together, it was difficult to speak.

"What? What is bird mail?" Steph placed the food on her nightstand as Cass moved closer to show her the letter.

After seeing her name on it, Step took the letter and opened it. "Where did you get this?"

"A robin brought it

"You mean Tim?" She watched her friend's face beam.

"No, a bird."

"A bird delivered this?"

Cass nodded while observing the USB that was taken from the envelope. They both stared at it before Steph grabbed the laptop off the bed and plugged it in.

They sat down on the bed together and were shocked when Bruce appeared on the screen.

"Bruce," she heard Stephanie gasp as her own heart beat faster. She was uncertain if the video was a good sign or not.

"For many years, I debated with myself if I should allow Stephanie in the family or kick her out." The Bruce on the screen said, prompting Step to say. "What the heck!"

"As to date," Bruce continued, "her best contribution to the team is keeping Tim stable."

Steph didn't say anything this time but Cass could see her cheeks turning red from the corner of her eyes.

"I'm sure that you may not agree with me on this, but I've run every scenario and calculated every possible quality of Spoiler only to come up with the same conclusion: She is a threat to the family and to Gotham."

"How?" Steph shouted.

"She's too reckless and, while intelligent, thoughtless of the consequences of her actions might bring in the future. However, one day in the future she is going to get herself or another kill. Or, worst, she will ignite a war that will tear the city apart in her blinded effort to keep it together. She has more of her father in her than she thinks.

"Before she does something recklessly, I want her off the streets. I plan to make sure that Stephanie Brown will never dawn a mask or a cape again.

"She is no longer part of the family. Her role is meaningless and a threat. "

Cass turned to Steph at the end of the video. Her face was red and she shook slightly.

"Meanless? Do I look meaningless to you?" She faced Cass, who shook her head.

She didn't look meaningless; she looked angry.

"Okay, let's pick this up again tomorrow. Maybe we can come up with some fresh ideas."

Barbara smiled at the staff at the Gotham City Public Library. They all agreed with her statement and slowly started to log off the online meeting.

Barbara stayed on until all of the staff logged off. She wanted to make sure that she was available if anyone wanted to stay and talk.

No one did. She ended the call immediately after the last person left.

Stretching, she got out of her chair and walked around her apartment, going in and out of different rooms. After spending years in a wheelchair, she liked to get up and move. It reassured her that her implant was still working and that she was capable of moving.

After a lap and a half, she returned back to her desk. She wanted to complete the revision of their outreached program now that they were moving to a virtual platform.

She sat down at her desk and moved the mouse to wake up her computer. She paused. Instead of the document that she was working on, the computer screen displayed a frozen video of Bruce.

She immediately clicked on it as a whirlwind of questions flew through her head.

Yet, after watching the video, her mind was blank and she felt numb. There was no way that this was Bruce talking. She didn't believe it. She couldn't believe it.

She hit play again to listen to the video.

Bruce glanced away from the camera but looked back with determined eyes. "I wished that I could have been the man that you raised me to be. Respectful, kind, and generous. Yet, I turned out to be cold and calculating. Maybe if I had been a better man, I wouldn't have done what I did that night." He shifted in his seat.

"I know you always wondered why Dick and Barbara never made it. I was a part of the reason. I and the baby that she thought that she had carried. "

"I slept with Barbara. It was a moment of weakness. A moment where everything was spiraling out of control and I wanted it to stop and to escape everything.

"I did for a moment. Yet, when the moment passed and I found that I had added to my grievances."

"I was ashamed. I couldn't look at myself in the mirror for weeks. I had once again hurt a person that trusted me and who was an ally. What I did to Dick...to Barbara..."

He closed his eyes briefly and rubbed the bridge of his nose before continuing. "When she came to me and told me that she was pregnant and the child was mine, I wanted to laugh.

"I was certain that the child wasn't mine. Even if the condom that was used that night was ineffective, my vasectomy would have prevented it. Barbara wasn't like Talia nor did they have the same goals. Yet, I had to be sure. Even if it was a 0.0001 percent chance, I had to be certain.

"The baby wasn't mine nor was it Dick's.

"Chlorpromazine. A drug that causes false positives on pregnancy tests, and traces of that drug was found in the gas toxic that was used by Scarecrow a few nights before, we.." He glanced away for a second. " had intercourse. We had a fight with Scarecrow, which led her to inhale a large amount of the gas.

"The miscarriage that she thought she had was simply the toxic's way of releasing itself from her body.

"I never told Dick or her. A thought that crossed my mind frequently. Especially around the time, she holds an annual memorial for a child that never existed.

"I never corrected the lie for the simple fact Dick could do better. Barbara doesn't deserve him."

"No wonder, it took you so long to come and get me." Dick taunted. "I thought you were ready."

Damian ignored Grayson as he focused on the game in front of them. His hand moved effortlessly on the controller yet he couldn't beat Grayson.

This was their thing. Video games.

Games of this sort weren't available in the sacred city of 'Eth Alth'eban, where the League of Assassin resided and he was raised. When he moved to Gotham, his father, who hated video games, forbade him from playing them, despite having raised three orphans who knew how.

It had been Dick who had found his lack of video game etiquette unacceptable. He felt that every childhood should include video games. At the time, he didn't see the big deal about them until they went to the arcade and played an old game.

He was sold. He fell in love with something that he thought was beneath him. He didn't know why.

Maybe because he found something that he wasn't good at and it excited him. Or he found a way to rebel against his father. Or maybe, it was because he was able to spend time with one of the few people that meant the world to him.

He took his eyes off the game for a moment and observed Grayson. They had a rough beginning as he did with all the Robins, but unlike all the other Robins he had formed an unbreakable bond with Grayson, one that he hoped would never end.

That is why he had been shaken by the vision. He pointed a gun at Grayson and pulled the trigger. He may occasionally think about killing the others but ... Grayson he wouldn't ...he hoped that he wouldn't have to.

"Why are you staring at me and not the game?"

Damian blushed and focused back on the game.

"So you are going to ignore me?"

"I was only wondering how an incapable idiot is able to win at a game. Maybe that is the secret."

"Still a sore loser as ever." The television screen announced the winner of this round and the end of the game.

"Whatever. Another round?"

He smirked. "Sure, I don't mind beating you, what is this...four times in a row."

"Gloat now, Grayson, because a game is the only place where you can beat me." He heard him chuckled as he picked his player. He was sure that Grayson was cheating somehow just as he was sure that he was here to talk about Alfred with him.

Damian debated in his head if he should bring up the topic first, giving him the chance to direct the conversation. Deciding that he should, he opened his mouth when the room door was slammed open, revealing Drake.

"You got to come now. It's Bruce."

Both of them dropped their controllers and rushed out of the room, following Drake into the new Batcave, where Jason and Aliza were waiting.

"What is this?" Dick asked as they stopped in front of a computer with a frozen screen of Bruce.

"Me and the kid-" Jason pointed towards Aliza, who corrected him.

"Aliza."

He rolled his eyes. "Me and Aliza were eating ice cream and watching cartoons when the elevator door opened. There was an envelope inside containing a USB.

"We came down here to put it into the computer when Bruce's face came up."

"Tim, who was already here, ran to get you so that we can watch the video together."

"Then what are you waiting for," Damian said impatiently. "Press play."

"Clearly, I said that we were waiting on you."

"Guys, shut up." Tim said, pushing a button to play the video.

"We never really spoke about it but I figured that you must have known that I never wanted to have kids. To me, that night in the alley, I died along with my parents, officially ending the line of the Waynes. I was supposed to be the last Wayne.

"I thought that I had taken care of that. Allowing Helena to be my only child. During my seven years away from Gotham, I got a vasectomy."

What the heck!

Damian stared at the screen confused. This wasn't what he had expected when the video started playing. It threw him for a loop. Helena was his sister?

"So, you could imagine my surprise when Talia showed up with Damian. If it wasn't for the boy's appearance and the DNA test, I would have denied it furiously.

"It would have been better if he wasn't. Maybe then, I would have been able to love and accepted him as my ward. I know that you must be disappointed by my words; that's why I only have the courage to say it now.

"From the conditions of his conception to his personality, Damian Wayne has been ... an existence that is hard for me to accept. He carries the name Wayne, yet his behavior and actions are those of an Al Ghul. He is a stain on the Wayne name."

His heart accelerated and his blood heated, but this wasn't something new. He thought that his father felt ...negative about him plenty of times... but to hear it. to be called a stain.

"However, it is only when I wear the cowl that I am truly able to accept him, to love him, to show him affection, to bond with him. He is a great partner. Maybe someday, he would be a great Batman if he chose the right path." He exhaled and took a sip of alcohol.

Batman

A title that he had admired and looked up to and one day wanted to hold. He would have been happy to hear this had not he heard the words before. Now it felt wrong and dirty.

The only reason why he wanted to become Batman was because of his father. It was a legacy that he wanted to continue for him, but now...

"Nevertheless, as Bruce Wayne, I only see him as a mistake, a burden, and a failure. I have tried...I am trying to be a loving father to him. I hope that one day, as Bruce Wayne, I will be able to love the boy who is happy and proud to carry the name Wayne. Yet as of now, regret is the only thing that I have for him. Thus, I left him nothing in my will. I figure that you will do right by the boy more than I ever would or could. Give him what you think that he deserves." Bruce was silent on the video and felt all eyes on him.

"Damian." Dick's hands touched his shoulder and he brushed it off.

"The video is still playing." He reminded him. His face showed no emotion.

"While Bruce Wayne couldn't imagine producing children, Batman had no problem with it." They all turned back to the video.

"Tim Drake. The third son of Batman." Bruce smiled. "Who knew when I first encountered Tim that I was meeting the best Robin that I would ever partner up with. What he lacks in strength, he compensates for it in intelligence-

Damian's blood grew hotter. His hand clenched as he listened to the continuous glowing words of flattery that his father spoke of Drake.

"He would have been my choice for the next Batman if he wasn't completely insane."

He was thrown for another loop, causing his blood to cool. Judging by the expressions on the other ex-Robin's faces they felt the same.

Damian may... have his opinions about Drake, but insane would never be a word to describe Drake. He was too level headed for that

"You must keep an eye out for him at all times now that I'm gone. I don't know how he will handle my death. What would he do? Who he would become?

"We saw a glimpse of what he could be? Yet, knowing this, I trained him, hoping that he could get better and heal as Dick. I never suspected that my short sight in getting him help would have produced a monster worse than the one we have already seen.

"Alfred, as long as you are alive as long as you possibly can, you must never allow Tim to find out the truth: His parents are dead."

The video paused. Everyone's focus shifted to Todd, who stopped the video. "I'm going out on a small limb here and say this isn't Bruce. I don't know what they, whoever they are, are trying to pull here, but Kiteman could have come up with a video than this if he knew Batman's identity.

"I mean Helena's his daughter. I don't like the kid like that but you really think Bruce would say that about Damian. We have seen how much he loves him. And Tim's insane. I mean sure that would make him a little less square, but come on.

"Besides, everyone knows that Tim's parents are dead. It's kinda a Robin's thing. You either have evil parents or dead ones. I think that I only one with both so-"

"They aren't dead."

Their attention moved to Drake. "It was a lie to protect them. I visit and talk with them often."

"While I agree with you that this isn't Bruce, someone has been doing their homework." Everyone was silent as he brushed Todd's hands aside and started the video again.

"For his sake, our sake. Watch over Tim."

"Jason Peter Todd." Bruce covered his face with his hands and took three deep breaths. When he uncovered his face, his composition looked worse.

"Out of all my mistakes as Batman as a man, he was my great mistake."

It was wrong but Damian did feel a little joy in this. He may be at the bottom of the Robin totem pole but at least he wasn't Todd.

"I thought by taking him in, giving him a safe place to stay and a way to release his anger, I thought that I was doing right by him.

"My trip to the alternate timeline had confirmed that if I didn't interfere in his life he would have been a priest."

Everyone but Aliza snorted. Jason a priest. A cult leader who pretended to be a priest was more believable.

"Yet, my greatest mistake cost him his life. " He covered his face again.

"Can we skip this? We all heard this before." He paused the video and checked to see the video's progress bar. He sighed. The video was almost over. He let it continue to play. "I don't know why he won't let it go. I mean-"

"If only I hadn't set that trap for Jason that night, Joker wouldn't have killed him." Everyone's eyes were glued to the screen.

"I only wanted to teach Jason to be more ….." He took a deep breath. "I knew that Jason would have disobeyed my orders to hang up his Robin costume. I knew that he would have followed Joker once he escaped. Despite it being dangerous, I thought... Two variable, just two...all to teach him a lesson." He closed his eyes and a tear fell down. "I led Jason to his death."

The room was dead silent.

"I don't know who sent this video, but when I find out who they are going to wish that they were with Joker that night instead of me."

"So, we weren't the only ones who received a video."

They turned to see Selina and Helena walk in. Before anyone could reply, Dick's and Tim's phone went off. Judging by their expressions, someone had been busy.

*Mother is a character from Batman and Robin Eternal comic. She would raise orphans to become assassins or anything that she wished for them to be. Cassandra was an assassin for Mother thanks to her dad. She escaped and went to Batman for help to stop Mother, who was later killed.

POLL: Do you want Batman to be alive or dead? It won't affect the storyline in a major way if he is or isn't.
