Courtney entered his apartment and leaned on the wall adjacent to the door. "Three successful dates put you in a good place."
Duncan leaned over her with an arm on the wall. He slowly inched closer to her face, leaned in, and joked. "Wait, so, those were all dates?"
She rolled her eyes, wrapping her arms around his neck to diminish the distance between their lips. She hitched a leg a little higher and he responded with fluidity, wrapping both of them around his waist.
After traveling to the couch, they were interrupted by a small meow directed towards Duncan. They parted when his attention diverted to the black and white ball of fluff trying to paw at Duncan's leg.
"Oh, hey buddy."
"I didn't know you had a cat…"
"Chop?" He picked up the feline as if he were a newborn; the cat's paws softly rubbed against his chin as he told their story. "I've had him for a couple of months now. Saved him from a group of punks down the street and he wouldn't stop following me home."
Courtney had never seen a cat so attached to someone. Duncan continued as he lightly bounced up and down, stroking behind the cat's ears.
"This is around the time he tries to finesse a second dinner."
When he talked to Chop, he didn't raise his voice up a pitch or mask his usual voice for a docile tone. His voice suggested he was just talking to one of his friends. "I fed you before I left didn't I?" He looked back to Courtney when he contradicted his line of questioning.
"Okay, okay. You can have one treat." He let Chop onto the floor before walking into the kitchen, leaving his date and pet in the room together.
Chop purred, rubbing himself against Courtney's legs in a pattern like motion. Duncan returned, surprised by Chop's exchange of affection. "He never behaves like this around anyone." He bent down to feed Chop his treats and petting his long, fluffy coat. He spoke, still attentive to his feline. "He's telling me you're a keeper." He looked up at her with a grin and Courtney returned the exchange in awe of this new aspect of him she witnessed that was even more attractive than the initial pull.
"I really like this side of you, Duncan. All soft, caring, responsible." He stood up to face her, getting closer with each step. "It's actually really, really sexy."
"Well when you put it that way…" He took her hand, leading her to his bedroom, leaving trails of kisses down her neck with every seductively delivered statement. "We have designated cuddling time, I give him his favorite snack before bed, and I built him an awesome cat tower."
Courtney let out breathy laughs, aroused by the sensations, but still amused by his banter and joked along. "Oh, just take me now!"
Duncan laughed as well, shutting the door behind them. Chop would understand.
