Hello dear readers!, here I am with another update!, I wanna say sorry because I promised another update and gave you a schedule, and I still didn't make it!, I'm sorry but stuff happened in 2020 and 2021 you know?, anyways I'm here to say that the schedule thing is over, yeah… I'm sorry but I will be inconsistent until the situation here gets better, also I was out of ideas for the story so I couldn't do anything even if I had time but I swear you won't have to wait more than a month to hear from me!

He was lost, again.

He sighed and wondered why did that woman thought it was fine to leave him alone in here she knew he barely explored the city yet to its fullest.

-*sigh* "why don't you go play over there darling, I will buy some things here and I will meet you in our building"- he mocked her- one would think that you are trying to get rid of me…

Naruto stood on a wide street of a residential area, it was full of houses that looked the same to him and since it was Monday no one was around. He decided to keep exploring until he found something remarkably different to at least use as a landmark.

He would never understand how people don't get lost in this place, all houses looked the same(at least in this part of town), every street was the same, and since this was a residential part of town there were no businesses or shops to differentiate the places. But apparently everyone could manage themselves because they could read the street signs…

"Bah, so what if I don't know how to read?I didn't need that thing before!"

He kept wandering aimlessly, he considered asking some people but people here were mean to him sometimes so he decided not to risk it. He was about to give up when he found something different, there was a building bigger than most houses and it was made with a different material, it looked way older and it had towers of bricks.

"what is this place? It seems important, bah never mind but at least I can use it to guide me"

He was thinking on how he was going to get back to his home when he heard sobbing, at first it was so faint that he thought he maybe had imagined it, but as he got closer to the entrance to the strange building the sound got louder. He turned around a corner and saw someone was crying curled up into a ball on the entrance.

He got near to see better and he found out it was a boy near his age, he had pale skin brown hair and he was dressed in blue clothes.

-hey, are you okay?- he asked without knowing how to approach him.

-leave, go away.

-umm, sorry if I'm upsetting you or something but I'm lost, sooo could you perhaps tell me where do I need to go?, then I will leave you.

He turned around to face and he saw his green teary eyes and snooted nose, he looked like he was around his age.

-*sniff* Who are you?

-umm I'm Naruto hi, sorry for interrupting?, anyway why are you crying here?

-wha, what do you want?- he said angrily.

-I told you I'm lost, I need to find my way back home and you are the only person here soooo…

-*snif* Where do you live?

-uhh, exeggutor street 1344?

-meh fine, I can take you there- with that he dusted his pants, cleaned his face and got up- this way.

:five minutes later:

It actually wasn't that far away, they just had to make some weird turns (Naruto still hated this city) but they were finally arrived. They actually weren't at Naruto's home yet but they were at a nearby park.

-oh,we are here, thanks for uummm…

-yeah whatever- he started to walk away

-hey!, I usually don't do this, but why were you crying?

-why do you care?, it's not like we know each other.

-I know but…- he actually had no idea why was he asking this, he usually never meddle with anyone's life, but something about watching this boy cry made him worry- do you wanna play?

-what?- he said confused.

-yeah…- Naruto said while pointing at the park.

-ohh well fine, but don't mention what you saw earlier ok?

-sure!

:an hour and a half later:

They played a lot and forgot the time, the boy who Naruto learned was called Ren, actually was a lot of fun. For a while he was still grumpy and sad, but after they started climbing on the games he cheered up and after Naruto fell he began laughing.

After the hours passed Naruto started to worry, the woman that was taking care of him might not like him but the old man might get mad if he just ignores her for too long.

-So, uuum it was fun but I have to go now, people are probably looking for me.

-ooh, yeah…- up until this point the kid was smiling carelessly but suddenly he turned serious- I should go too…

Naruto saw him start walking and he doesn't know why but he is worried about this kid and he doesn't know why, like he usually doesn't care about other people, no one cares about him, so why should he care about others?. But the thing is that he just couldn't look at him being all sad.

-hey!- he called the kid who was leaving- I know it's not my business and you told me to not bring it up, but why were you crying?- He stopped and tensed his shoulders, so Naruto was quick to add- I'm sorry if this offends you but…

-my father hit me- he said out of the blue- it wasn't the first time he did but this time my mother saw him do it now, all this time I thought that she would side with me but after she saw it she shrugged and told me that I probably deserve it.

Naruto flinched, he heard and saw parents being strict to their child regularly with many being somewhat aggressive (in fact that was one of the things that made him happy with his situation), but this was something else.

-I, uhh-well, I hope you feel better?

-hah! you are not good at this right?

-ehh no, listen I don't know what to say other than your dad is a douche and you probably should escape from home or something.

-wha?, but I have nowhere else to go!

-oh yes that, agh what was that old man told me the other day?- he said closing his eyes trying to remember- "Naruto if you ever have trouble and you can't find me go to the town hall, there's a department in there that's called children protection, they will help you"- he said imitating Sarutobi's voice- do you think that you can try that?

-no, my father is a really famous trainer, most times he calls favors to people, the other day he pushed me into the ground a lot of times with people nearby, and they did nothing.

-well, crap I'm out of ideas- he stood there silently with his eyes closed for a minute, then he suddenly jumped, scaring the other boy- I got it!Are you in the trainer's academy?

-eeh?

-you know the place when people go to learn how to be a trainer- Naruto was actually going there the next semester, not only because he has nothing to do but also because he needed to graduate there in order to keep having kitsu.

-yes, I'm in my second year. What about it?

-do you know what happens when you graduate?

-eeh, you get a pokemon?

-yeah! and also you get to travel! wouldn't that help you?

-uhh… I never thought of that, but it will take me another two years to have a chance at graduating. Besides I don't think my father would want me to leave…

-screw your father! if he is as you told me then you don't have to listen to him, so maybe you can wait, and hey! maybe I can get the old man to help you!

-the old man?

-Naruto!

The boys turned around and saw a middle aged woman in a dress with a shopping bag full of groceries, she had her hands on her hips and an angry look on her face.

-There you are, young man! i've been looking for you! didn't I tell you to be at home!

-you left me in a place I've never been! I've got lost!

-do you think I'm stupid? I don't care for your excuses- as she said that she grabbed Naruto's hand with a strong grip- now let's go before the lord third asks about you.

-auch, hey not so rough!- then he turned around to the boy- think about what I said!

:flash foward, the present:

Ren came the next day to his house and told him that he agreed and he was going to graduate in order to leave his house, after that they became friends. Over the time Naruto just took Ren for granted and simply forgot about how they met.

"damn this is where I met him, I'm a horrible friend what is wrong with me?" he said while covering his face with his hands and kneeling down "no wonder he is mad…"

He was so distracted with his thoughts that when he felt a hand on his shoulder he recoiled in fear.

-hah! what was…?- he looked up and saw hinata with her hands up and a worried glance-what was that for huh?!- he said irritated.

-uum, I'm sorry if I scared you, b-but you looked troubled by something and when you didn't answer my question I got worried so…- she looked away in embarrassment.

-*sigh* it's okay, what did you ask- seriously this girl was so shy that he could knock her up by blowing on her direction!.

-oh, the last time I saw her was in that direction- and she pointed towards an alleyway.

- great- said Naruto getting tired, then he looked at her- weird question but what were you doing here?

-ah I'm… helping you find your pokemon?

-agh- Naruto facepalmed- no I mean, what were you doing here before- it was really suspicious of her to just be passing by at this place and time.

-eehhhmm, I just bought some groceries for my family in this area- she was getting redder and redder…

-okeey, then why are you helping me then? it's not like we are friends or anything

-eh, because… it's the right thing to do?

-sure- Naruto just looked at her with disbelief- listen if you are here for a bet or a dare...

-oh! nonono! I just wanted to help you, I… I will leave if you want to but I'm here because it's not good for a pokemon to be alone in the city.

-*sigh* yeah probably but there's no way we'll catch her, if she sees me she would just transform into something else and flee.

-maybe, or maybe we can lure her in?

-how?

-when was the last time she ate?

:timeskip, ten minutes later:

-Kitsu's P.O.V.-

"stupid Naruto"Kitsu thought "why does he have to be like this?". The fox pokemon was actually sprinting through the roofs, she learned to stay here when she was alone because humans didn't like her, people thought that she was just distracting them from one of Naruto's pranks about to happen, even when she transformed into a human they would notice eventually, something about not covering her chest with clothes.

"Why is it so hard to just apologise? Ren is the only human that seems to care about something else than themselves, well he and that round boy anyway, I have to make them talk somehow…" She was distracted by the rumbling of her belly, she realized it had been hours since she was fed in the day care "agh, I can't think when I'm hungry, I better grab something…" she started searching for any market or restaurant to steal from, but looking around she noticed that this was just mainly a residential area with no food nearby. She sighed, even after four years after they moved to this place she wasn't used to the town, she looked at the sky "I miss you, mama…".

But a smell interrupted her thoughts, it was a sweet scent that made her mouth water. She turned around following her nose, the smell came from an alley below her so she dropped from her roof and looked to the sides to see if there was any human around, it was empty and the smell was coming from an opened bag on a bench.

"hah! these humans need to learn to not leave their food alone"

When she was about to eat the first bite of whatever was inside she was tackled by someone she didn't see, they hit the ground and she felt two furred hands grab her from behind pinning her to the ground.

"I'm sorry" she heard someone say and she knew it was a pokemon, but most importantly she smelled another familiar scent.

:timeskip five minutes:

-Naruto's P.O.V.-

-come on Kitsu I said I'm sorry!- repeated Naruto for an eleventh time.

They were in the same alley where they set the trap, at first Naruto didn't think it would work but Hinata surprised him, she told him that the oran spice really attracted pokemon. He was able to spot Kitsu at a distant roof so they chose to set up nearby, at first Naruto was worried that she would smell them from a distance, but Hinata told him that the food's smell would cover them, after that they hid themselves behind cardboard boxes. Finally when Kitsu was getting near he realized that they didn't know what to do next so panicking he asked her to use her pokemon and Hinata released her meditte to restrain Kitsu. Naruto should have known that she will get offended by that, so after she was released she ran towards a cardboard box and locked herself there.

Hinata for her part was red with embarrassment and was bowing to his pokemon in the ground and urging the meditte do the same.

-*sigh* Kitsu I'm going to talk to Ren and apologise.

The furry pokemon until now was curled into a ball, whimpering with her eyes closed, but now she opened an eye and looked at him, Naruto could tell it wasn't just about his fight with Ren, but since they managed to ambush her, her pride was hurt. From his peripheral vision he could see Hinata standing up and looking at him weirdly, probable because she heard the Ren part.

-yes I know now what I did wrong and I'm going to apologize, also I'm sorry about all of this but it was the only way to find you!- he kneeled down and tried to reach his hand to her- happy?

Kitsu slowly reached for his hand and licked it slowly. but then she looked past him and then went inside the cardboard box again. Naruto looked back to find that Hinata and her pokemon had come really close to him in order to hear, but the problem was that she was almost touching him.

-Whhooaaaaaa!.

-Eeep! I'm sorry!

Naruto tried to back away but tripped and kicked Hinata on her leg who jumped away in order to not go down, He landed on top of the cardboard box Kitsu was in, crushing it and hitting his head in the process, fortunately his pokemon stepped aside before that. Now Kitsu was growling at Hinata and her Meditte was mad at him for kicking his trainer, meanwhile she returned her routine to apologize twenty times.

-ouch…

-I'm sorry, I'm so sorry!

-it's okay I'm sorry for hitting you, Kitsu back off- he told off to his pokemon who ran towards him, their previous fight forgotten- don't worry I'm up, Hinata it's okay.

-no it's not, I…

She was cut off when he stood up and grabbed her shoulder "seriously what happened to this girl to be like this? people at her house should be very strict" he then bowed down at the meditte and her as an apology.

-thank you Hinata- he said seriously letting her shoulder go- without you or your pokemon I wouldn't have found Kitsu.

-eergh- she looked like she couldn't articulate words so he turned around to leave.

-wait Naruto.

-hmm?, what- he turned around to face her.

-you said that you wanted to apologize to Ren, why?

-oh- he hoped she didn't hear that- well, we had a stupid fight.

-about what?if you don't mind me asking of course.

-ehh- he thought about it and decided that she earned his trust- he is going to graduate in some months, I told him to not go to travel and to stay here instead… because I would miss him if he left.

-oh and, does he want to leave?

-y-yeah, I can't tell you why but he is pretty desperate.

-umm well if it's really important to him you should apologize really- she paused and looked at him more clearly- i-if you wanted to… I could come with you.

Naruto just looked at her confused, on one hand she was always nice to him and she just helped him, on the other hand she had no reason to do it, they weren't friends and she could be really weird sometimes. Thinking a little bit he decided to give her a chance.

-okey here's the deal, if Kitsu accepts you, you can come.

-oh really?- she sounded excited.

-yep for real, Kitsu is my best friend and advisor, she gets to decide many things.

The pokemon in question was looking at the girl angrily, or more specific to her pokemon who was behind her, she was still mad at the meditte that pinned her and she wasn't used to Naruto getting along with people other than his male classmates, it made her jealous.

-Uum Kitsu listen Nokku here is sorry about what happened and- she searched her purse and grabbed a pokeball, and used it to put her meditte away- and I'm sorry too, so would you forgive us if I gave you this?- she asked while offering the food they used as bait with the spice pokemon like- these are my lunch leftovers, I know it's not much, but I hope you like chicken?

Kitsu immediately dashed towards it and finished it up in four bites, when she was done Kitsu rubbed her body against Hinata's leg.

-well that means she likes you so let's go.

Together they left towards Ren's favourite reading spot in the park, while walking Hinata tried to release her meditte but Naruto told her to keep him inside a pokeball because Kitsu was still mad at him.

:timeskip, twenty minutes:

-Ren's P.O.V.-

Ren was reading to distract himself from yesterday, he didn't want to be mad at Naruto but the boy made it hard sometimes, but what was he supposed to do? His father was an ass like always, well at least he was behaving better now since he learned that if he just leaves Ren alone it would be easier for both. But there were times when they couldn't stay apart (especially when they were having dinner) and then they clashed, his father wasn't the alcoholic he was when Ren was a little kid but that didn't mean they were on good terms.

Ren sighed and closed his book, he really didn't want to be angry at Naruto but if he still insisted with him staying then he had no other choice, only five more months and he'll be free.

-umm, hey-

He looked up from his reading and saw Naruto looking awkward, he had his hand behind his head and was avoiding looking at him in the eyes while he shifted his way from one foot to another. This took Ren by surprise, he wasn't expecting anything from him or at least not so soon.

-Naruto? wha… What are you doing here?

-*sigh* ok I… came to apologise, I know what I did was bad and… I'm sorry.

They stood there in silence for a while, Ren was actually surprised since he never thought Naruto would be capable of doing that in a hundred years, the blonde boy for his part was expecting an answer.

-Did you truly mean that?

-Agh come on Ren I've already said it.

-I'm waiting for an answer.

-Fine, yes I behaved like an ass back there.

-And what are you going to do with our age gap thingy?

-Nothing- he shrugged with his hands on his pockets- because there's nothing I can do, I'm not like shikamaru who was offered to skip courses a few weeks back, in fact I'm actually behind the rest, and I'm not gonna force you to stay after what you told me about your family.

-You remembered?-He said smiling.

-Yeahit took me a while but I'm sorry I forgot, it's weird because that's the reason we know each other but we never talked about it ever.

-Yes I suppose.

-Sooo what now- Naruto said after moments of silence-are we good or you hate me?

-We are good- Ren said smiling and getting up- but seriously don't behave like that again or I'll hit you again.

-Again?- Naruto asked and in order to demonstrate Ren punched him on the shoulder, after the initial surprise he hit Ren to retaliate and that escalated into a full fight but they weren't fighting seriously, those were soft punches to lighten up the mood while they laughed.

-Hey wait a minute- Ren said after a while- where's Kitsu did you left her in daycare again.

-No but that reminds me of something wait here!-and he left towards some bushes.

Ren just stood there with a dumb expression, his swablu Skye who was perched on a breanch from a nearby tree came down to see what was going on- it's ok girl me and Naruto worked things out- the pokemon chirped happily, it was unusal to see her so close to the ground since every time she comes near the little children harras her into playing.

-hey here!- he heard Naruto coming from behind him with someone else- Ren this is my classmate Hinata, she helped me before and gave me advice about you!

Now this was something interesting, the girl in question was wearing a grey hoodie and blue trousers, she was twirling her fingers and kind of using Naruto as a cover, her short bluish hair and her pale skin gave her an unusual look. But even though Ren was sure he never actually saw the girl face to face there was something in her he could never forget, in all the times he managed to catch a glimpse of her when he and Naruto were alone there was only one thing he saw, those violet perl eyes.

-Oh really?- Ren said while a wicked grin formed on his face- it's a pleasure to meet you then , you know not many people would have the patience to deal with his loud mouth I congratulate you!

-hey!-Naruto complained.

-eehh, it's not that bad- she said while shrinking further away- he is really nice in classes so I was just being polite.

-nah you are being humble- at this point he was trying to memorize everything from her appearance, the most shocking detail was the Hyuga crest on her hoodie "she must branch house member" -say your face seems familiar, have we met before?- he asked just to tease her.

-uhhh, no! this is the first time we met!-she said blushing

"gotcha!"

-well anyway if you are good with Naruto that means you are good to me- Ren turned to face his friend- so now that we are all cleardo you want to go have fun somewhere, if we only have five months we might just take advantage of them.

-oh yeah that's cool!

He turned around and saw that the girl was avoiding his gaze and she was slowly drifting away.

-Hey Hinata do you want to come?- he heard Naruto ask.

-wha? but I-I don't think I should…- she looked like someone told her she had to battle against the newest champion.

-do you have a curfew? Are people waiting for you at home?

-oh no I'm not expected in another couple hours but...

-then come, we promise there won't be any vandalism involved- Ren assured and then look at Naruto.

-Ok fine no pranks I promise.

-well see we won't get you in any troubles, now what do you want to do?

Her eyes lit up.

-I always wanted to try some sweets from a shop nearby.

Uff there you go, it was larger than usual and don't worry I will update soon with my other story it won't take me months, also I will upload a night of beginnings first to alternate between stories.
