A Very Bionic Brady 7
Chapter 7
In a bedroom across town a young man was sitting reading his favorite book. Just as he was about to start a new chapter, the phone rang. He picked up the receiver without even looking up from his book.
"Hello, Bennett residence, this is Michael speaking." He said
He looked up when he heard the voice on the other end.
"Hi Cindy," he said, "Wait what?" he listened again.
"Cindy, Cindy, slow down, I can't understand you." he said, "Take a deep breath and start over, a little slower this time."
Cindy took a breath and started her explanation over again.
Michael nodded in understanding.
"I'm on my way." He said
Michael jumped up and hurried outside, then he took off down the road at bionic speed.
Cindy was pacing on the platform at the top of the bleachers at the Westdale football field when he arrived.
He hurried up to her.
"Boy," she muttered, "A lot of good these bionic abilities did me, they still managed to kidnap my sister!"
"Cindy, quit beating yourself up about," said Michael, "Not even we can be everywhere at once. Right now, we have to focus on figuring out where they're holding Marcia."
"Well, I don't think they would have her too far away," said Bobby, "they'd want to have her around close enough to get to her if something goes wrong!"
Cindy nodded in agreement,
"I'll bet she's being held somewhere around here." She said
"Hey," said Michael, "Aren't there some old storage rooms in the basement under the bleachers"
"yeah there are." Said Greg, "I'll bet that's where they're keeping her. Come on!" he turned to go when Cindy grabbed his arm.
"hold it, Greg," she said, "Michael and I will go look for Marcia. Those kidnappers probably have a lookout in the stands. if you don't get out on that field and at least appear to be going along with them Marcia's a goner for sure!"
Greg hated to admit it, but he knew they were right. He turned and headed for the locker room. Looking a lot calmer than he felt.
Cindy and Michael nodded to each other and took off running. Moving as fast as they could without drawing too much attention to themselves, they headed for the nearest staircase. Hurrying down it they made their way to the basement. When they got there, they found that there were rooms on the opposite ends of a long hallway. With a single look they agreed to each take a room. When they got in front of the door, they X-rayed the room with their bionic eyes.
Cindy found herself in front of the room that Marcia was in. she could see Marcia tied to a chair and gagged. There were four men in the room with her. On the table was a walkie talkie. Cindy made eye contact with Michael. She pointed at the door and nodded.
Michael hurried to her. He took a look himself. He and Cindy exchanged a nod and kicked the door with bionic force. The men were momentarily stunned when the heavy oak door was blasted off its hinges. This gave Michael and Cindy the time they needed to attack them.
Cindy knocked two of them against the wall with one swing of her bionic arm. Michael knocked one out cold on the floor, and put the other one through the wall with a flying side kick.
Then they turned and untied Marcia. She and Cindy hugged. Then she turned to Michael.
"Thank you," she said
"You're welcome," he said, "Now let's get back upstairs so Greg can see that you're safe now."
Marcia nodded, and they hurried back upstairs.
When they got back up to the bleachers, they took Marcia down to the sidelines so that Greg could see her. The Westdale team was in a timeout, and Greg had been enduring a chewing out from the coach after flubbing a second pass.
But he couldn't care less when he saw that Marcia was safe. After hugging her, he ran back out on the field and promptly started throwing touchdown passes.
Westdale won the game by five touchdowns! Boss Trager was beside himself.
"What happened Minnelli?" he yelled tuning on Minelli, who had been watching the game with him, "you told me the fix was in! that kid just cost me $350,000 dollars!"
"I don't know," said Minelli, "Brady just started throwing touchdown passes."
"Well will teach him to defy us!" snapped Trager storming to the door that let into his private box at the stadium. "Call the boys and tell them to dispose of the Brady Girl!"
Minelli nodded and grabbed the phone. He dialed the number and got a busy signal.
"The phone's off the hook," he said frowning, "something's wrong!"
"Boss, look!" said the other bodyguard into the room,
Trager went over to the window and his face darkened to an even worse scowl, because there was Marcia Brady back with her family. Mike brady was on a payphone calling the police.
"Let's get out of here!" he said, "If we get caught here by the cops, we're dead."
Michael's attention was grabbed by the sound of a door slamming on an upper level. when he turned around and looked his bionic eye zoomed in on two men in business suits hurrying toward the stairs that led to the outside ramp.
"Business suits at a high school football game?" he thought to himself.
Then the man turned slightly as he started down the stairs. That's when Michael saw his face.
"Gino Trager!" he exclaimed. Cindy turned toward him with a start.
"Did you say Gino Trager?" she asked, "That was the guy that I heard Minelli talking to last night!"
Michael nodded and pointed toward the stairs.
"I just saw him come out of one of the private boxes on the upper level!" said Michael, "and he's getting away!"
"Oh no he's not!" replied Cindy, "Let's go!"
They raced toward out the entrance. Leaving Cindy's family bewildered. When they got outside, they saw Trager about to pull away in his limo.
Cindy raced in front of the Limo and stood there as it barreled toward her.
"Run the little brat down!" Trager yelled to Minelli who was driving
Cindy stood there clinching her right fist, suddenly a laser beam flashed out of her right eye and blasted into the front grill of the limo. The engine exploded, the hood flew up, and the limo swerved and crashed into a utility pole!
A few minutes later the police were Trager, Minelli and their flunkies into custody. A detective was talking to the Bradys. He told them that thanks to them Gino Trager, one of the biggest crime bosses in southern California, was out of business.
"Those muscle heads that Trager hired to kidnap your daughter Marcia are singing like canaries," he was saying, "Between their testimony and Marcia's statement Trager and Minelli are going away for a long time."
"Good riddance," said Carole
After the police left the Bradys and Michael walked out the Brady's car.
"Come on everybody," said Mike, "It's been a long day, let's go home. Michael why don't you join us for supper."
Cindy looked at the road then back and Michael. Michael caught the twinkle in her eye and realized what she was thinking.
"You know what," he said turning to the Bradys, "We'll meet you there!"
Michael and Cindy grinned and each other. Then they took off down the road at blinding speed!
Seven Brady mouths dropped open.
"That Michael," said Mike, "He's Bionic just like Cindy!"
Michael and Cindy were still grinning as they shot passed the two cops Cindy had shot past the night before. When the two blurs of motion shot past them. The cops took one look at each other and once again dumped their coffee out the window.
