"LEVI!"

A demanding voice hissed behind the wooden door banging loudly causing an annoying sound to echo off it.

Staring Ava kept her eyes shut wanting to cancel out the sounds. Blindly nuzzling deeper into the warmth next to her. The soft yet firm object started to lull her back to some much needed sleep when the sound like splintering wood from the door bounced across the room.

"Hell!" Ava yelped shooting up from bed, immediately missing the warmth as the cool air ghosted across her exposed arm.

"Could she learn to be discrete."

The angry growl pulled her attention from the barrage of knocks, a deep blush reaching her ears.

Ava noticed quickly that her comfortable warmth wasn't the thin comforter, but actually the muscular back of Levi. She was practically wrapped around him.

She mentally slapped herself, she must of have decided it would be okay to snuggle into his back at some point during the night.

"Levi!!!!!!" Hanges whine grew more urgent. "We have to meet with Erwin. I'm coming in-"

"Open that door and that will be the last-"

"Oh my." Hange gasped slamming the door loudly behind her eyeing the two individuals in the bed.

Ava wanted to just melt into the sheets, disappear from this reality. She was close with the brilliant scientist, but she never shared her past relationship with Levi to anyone.

"I knew it!"

"Hange. It's not what it looks like." Ava explained scooting away making as much space between the two. "I - I just couldn't sleep last night. All the fears of the day eating away at me. I just couldn't bare it alone. Every time I closed my eyes I could see all those Titans, all those people dead-" she couldn't control it anymore the tears fell down her face damping the blanket as she let everything out.

"Oh. Sweet." Hange cooed as she crossed the room ignoring the disgruntled captain who pushed out of bed. "You could have found me. I would have listened. I know it's not easy. Definitely for someone like you." She reassured the blond as she took her in her arms crushing her to her chest. "I would have been a much better companion last night." She squeezed harder.

"Tch." A grumpy Levi huffed as he stood waiting to the door, already dressed. "Well shit eyes, are we going?"

"Oh. Yes let's go." Hange pulled back nodding. "Just. Rest. Everything will be fine. We will get what is due." She turned back to Ava removing her hands from around her brushing the last of her tears away.

"I'll be fine." She assured the female before scooting back into the bed preparing to hide away in the warmth for the remainder of the day. But she only needed that one questionable look from a certain Captain, with his perfectly manicured brow to get her out of the bed. "I'm going to get changed and find some food if anyone needs me." Is it weird that she can tell what he wants to say just by a look. Ava grumbled at herself as she crawled out the bed pulling the sheets with her.

She was definitely going to steal some of Levis pants.

"You will feel much better." Hange agreed before exiting the room, her footsteps being heard as she hastily made her way down the hall

Ava didn't speak until she was confident Hange made it away from the door. "Thank you. For last night." looking down fiddling with her hands. "I know it was wrong. And you made it clear that you don't want-"

"Keep your guard up. Don't say anything that will bring unwanted attention to you."

And that was it.

Levi abruptly turned leaving the petite blond in the middle of the room, questioning why the hell she even decided to go to him.

Ava felt like she was thrown through a whirlwind since waking.

Not that it was her worst morning ever.. but..

Being walked in on cuddling with the captain of the special operations squad, then sneakly trying to get back to her room without pants on, and now after everything she was taken from her bland breakfast to her brothers office.

It hasn't been the best.

Definitely since her brother decided to put her on lockdown from all Scout operations starting immediately.

"I want you to remain here." Erwin ordered Ava as he finished adjusting his uniform.

"You've got to be kidding. No way. From how I see things now I am here to document all our new findings thoroughly. And if your plan works. And we capture the solider I will need to be there to witness it." Ava glowered towards her brother who refused to look at her.

She was a part of this now. If he wanted her to stay she needed him to let her in at every opportunity.

"Its too dangerous-"

Annoyed Ava side stepped around her brother standing directly under him. "But you are willingly going to send your soldiers in-"

"Yes. Because they are soldiers!" Erwin scolded glaring down angrily.

"Fine. But what if I ride in one of the carriages. I'll be close enough to you, away from the Titan. But I'll be near enough to document it all." Ava suggested not backing down.

Not too long ago she wanted nothing to do with her brothers proposal with her working for him. But things are different now. She isn't even sure she could go back to her normal life with the things she had seen.

"If anything the safest place for her would be in one of the carriages." Levi's monotone voice interrupted gaining both of the siblings attention. "She knows the city. If things get bad, she will know the safest place to disappear to."

Hearing him stick up for her was doing things to her, Ava tried to remain focused on her brother, watching as he looked back and forth between the two. She would have to personally thank Levi later.

After an agonizingly long wait her brother sighed backing away from her. "Fine. Dress in a uniform and meet us near the stables."

She took a moment to allow the shocked feeling to subside before answering quickly with a nod, and exiting before he could change his mind.

Ava didn't even wait on the other side of the closed door to listen to what the two men would say once she left, instead she rapidly took down the hallways finding her room and changing into her uniform.

Though she wouldn't admit it aloud but everytime she puts it on she feels like she's taking somebody else's glory away.

She wasn't a solider by any means. She wasn't even sure if she could defend herself properly if she found herself in a situation.

She wished there was another way, but it was to keep her identity some what of a secret so this is how it had to be.

Grunting annoyingly as she tightened the belts around her thighs she straightened her frame grabbing the tan jacket on her way out the door.

"If anything seems off do not hesitate to leave." Erwin instructed eyeing her from across the narrow carriage. "If you do get taken for questioning the proper documentations will be served stating you are only a hired contractor."

They've only been riding for a short while. The chatter of people could be heard outside meaning they must be close to the inner most wall.

Ava wasn't too impressed by the disguise of Eren. This could get ugly fast, lying to the Military Police, hiding who they deem a fugitive. But Jean would be good enough, for a time. She trusts her brothers instincts, and if the the three kids think they can capture the female Titan without harming any civilians, then this is the only possible option.

"Hopefully it doesn't come to that." She sighed looking down at the journal in her lap.

This could soon become evidence. Hopefully the kind of evidence that could help them in the future.

Only if it called for it.

That's the real reason why she continued to carry it around, and edit any text that seemed off. Her gut was telling her that they weren't the only ones keeping secrets.

"Jean will get past any close observation. We can only hope he can keep his composer till we hear from Eren." Levi leaned casually on the arm rest pulling back the satin curtain.

Ava leaned in peeking over his shoulder spotting familiar buildings. She felt a sort of calm knowing they were inside Stohess.

"Hopefully they catch the bitch." Levi sneered letting the curtain fall as he straightened his posture softly nudging into Ava.

Moving away, Ava couldn't stop her thoughts from drifting to that morning..

What would of happened if they weren't woken by Hange?

Would it be more awkward?

Would they have talked?

Groaning she dragged her hand down her face. Why was she acting like a love sick teenager

"Ava. Are you listening?"

Snapping her attention from Levi who had his brow slightly raised, to her brother who also eyed her in confusion.

"Mhm... Wait what were you saying?" Ava nervously asked looking between the two men shoving the journal back inside her satchel.

"That Hange will want to review the journal after this evening." Erwin eyed his sister critically looking between the two who sat in the seat opposite him.

"Oh. Yes. Of course." She answered pushing the journal deeper inside her bag.

The rest of the ride was silent besides the short banter Erwin and Levi shared. Ava sat lost in thought closing her eyes focusing on the sound outside the carriage, it felt familiar, comforting. As time went on she started to notice the lack of laughter, and voices from the outside. Which meant two things.

Either for some reason everyone in the area decided to stay in for the evening.

Or.

They have arrived at the location the Military Police would be.

"Okay. Stay focused."

Ava knew that wasn't towards Levi. But solely for her.

"Mhm." She could only agree as she watched her brother exit the carriage first. She was almost a foot out the door when a firm hand grasped her wrist pulling her back into the seat.

"Stay beside me. I will tell you when to run." Levi released her wrist just as quickly as when he grabbed it.

Ava blinked silently at him before giving a slow nod, knowing when not to ask questions she stood again exiting with no issues this time.

A loud explosion shook the ground, as she took her last step out of the carriage. Shaking nervously she looked behind her locking eyes with Levi.

"This is wall Sina! A Titan doesn't just show up here!"

Ava stared wide eyed at her brother who stood his ground in front of Nile.

"Back off!"

Ava turned seeing Jean rip off the wig before pushing past an officer to run up to Erwin for new orders.

Everything was happening quickly. How could it all go bad this fast!

Ava watched as Jean geared up faster than she had ever seen.

Her brother as well attached his ODM gear., but continued to keep his cool composure in front of the MP Commander.

Unnoticed to her Levi wordlessly made his way in front of her standing between her, and the Military Police.

"This is treason!"

Ava squeaked terrified as Nile pulled out his rifle pointing it directly at her brothers head.

"Erwin!" She stuttered stepping forward everything around her went silent, her vision also seemed to focus only on her sibling, and the large gun pointed directly at him.

"Ava." Levi hissed under his breath holding out his arm halting her advances. "Remain where you stand." He positioned his hand gripping her waist.

"But-" Ava didn't even feel him squeezing her hip trying to pull her attention back to him, and not towards the argument between the Commanders.

It didn't matter though. Ava could only see her brother in harms way. And the numerous images of a life without him circulated through her mind.

"Your a hair trigger away from making the biggest mistake of your life." Levi spoke over Nile finally snapping Ava out of her trance. She didn't even know when but she had his hand in a near death grip as she looked pleadingly towards the MPS.

Another loud explosion was heard blocks away, the unmistakably ray of light filling the sky.

Someone else shifted.

Her throat went dry hearing the terrible things Nile spat at her brother. Ava would always want to stand by her brothers side

But, as other MP officers reported back with multiple civilian casualties. Ava felt her stomach drop, the bile rising to her throat. She could only imagine all the men, women, and children suffering because of this invader.

"You know what this would do to us you son of a bitch!" Nile growled, Ava stared on watching as he grabbed Erwin by his shirt shoving him back.

Both continued arguing back and forth, Ava didn't even know what was being said anymore as Nile shoved her brother away taking aim once again at his head.

She knew her nails were dug into Levi's arm, if it caused him pain he wasn't showing it. As each second passed she trembled with the sound of buildings falling in the distance, watching seeing if Nile would put a bullet through her brother. But after a tense several minutes he lowered his gun, then immediately ordered his soliders to take her brother under arrest.

Ava stepped forward grunting as Levi locked his arm keeping her in place as they witnessed her brother placed in cuffs.

"Erwin!" She spoke up gaining questionable looks from the surrounding MPs. "I. Uh- Commander!" She quickly corrected ignoring Levi's glare as she silently pleaded for her brother to look her way.

"You'll report to Captain Levi. He will give you orders in which you will follow." He nodded giving her a reassuring look. "Stay back for now. It would be pointless if you went out and died." Erwin looked towards Levi giving him a direct order.

"Yeah it would." Levi huffed as he watched the MPs roughly pull Erwin away down the streets, all the surrounding soldiers leaving, going to start evaluating the city.

"Levi. We cant let this happen." Ava pushed past his arm which had slackened the further the soilders distanced themselves.

"Nothing we can do right now." Levi answered stepping back inside the carriage.

Turning around sharply she glared at the back of the man's head watching as it disappeared inside the carriage.

Of course they could do something. Maybe follow them to where they would be keeping him. Or even start compiling evidence to help his case.

"What are you even doing-" Ava stomped back over towards the door peering inside ready to persuade the Captain. Her face immediately growing hot as she watched him pull off his suit jacket, and shirt, his perfect physique taunting her. "I - uh - what are you doing?" She hissed leaning backwards looking around the area double checking to make sure they were alone.

"We are going to regroup with the others." His tone held a hint of boredom as he finished buttoning his shirt, leaning to the side picking up the numerous belts.

"But your hurt.." She frowned stepping into the carriage taking a seat. "I'm sure your ankle isn't healed. And Erwin said no dying." Though a part of her wanted to see how the rest of the group was, and how the city was faring, a bigger part of her didn't want to walk straight into immediate danger.

"Its fine." He grunted finishing up the belts before pointing a slender finger in her direction, eyeing Ava critically.

"What?" She crossed her arms over her chest. Levi smirked at her defiance squatting down in front of her.

"Erwin will be fine and you know it. He doesn't do anything without thinking up every possible scenario. And your on my jacket." He raised his hand to point between her legs.

Embarrassed Ava unlocked her crossed arms spreading her legs sighing at the sight of the dark green fabric, if he wasn't annoyed with her already he would definitely be now.

"Sorry." She fretted standing abruptly forgetting that Levi was practically squatted in between her legs resulting in her tripping over her own feet and falling forward into him. "This can't be happening!" She groaned closing her eyes praying to turn back time a few minutes.

"We certainly don't have time for that." Levi informed the small blond who straddled his lap fitting perfectly.

"I - this was your fault!" She tried to maintain her beating heart but as she looked up locking eyes with him Ava couldn't control the growing blush.

"Well your the one that trips over their own damn feet." He rolled his eyes before standing up continuing to have a firm grip around her waist.

"Hey! I'm heavy! Don't do that! Your ankle!" Ava let her legs fall to the floor of the carriage lightly shoving the Captain away from her. "Stop being reckless." She huffed looking away attempted to shield her blush.

"Stop being clumsy and I won't have to." He retorted reaching around her to grab the green fabric and throwing it over his shoulders hooking it at the neck.

"Hmph." She huffed turning around exiting the carriage. "How do you even expect us to get over there? It's all the way across the city. We could take a carriage, or even just a horse.. But if the MPs were speaking accurately then who knows how damaged the roads are - what the hell!" Ava yelped as she was swooped up into the air instantly leaving her lungs as she sailed into the air.

"This isn't a good idea! You shouldn't be doing this!" Ava gasped frantically wrapping her arms around Levi's neck. "Oh my.." She looked around her city, bile once again rising into her throat. From this vantage point she could now see the kind of distraction two intelligent Titans could do in such closed spaces. Buildings were either completely leveled, or up in flames, debris littered a large area from chunks of rubble being flung around. "How could we let this happen.." She choked squeezing her eyes closed as they past a street that was covered with boulders and bodies.

"The bitch will get what she deserves." Levi promised gripping her thigh tightly as he expertly maneuvered them through the air.

Hugging tighter into him she hoped that all of this wasn't for nothing. That whoever this Annie was, she was captured and hopefully will share with us her reasoning behind all of this.
