The footsteps were heard closer and closer, Jay was sitting at his desk, when he looked up and saw a woman dressed in a black suit with black heels. She was a woman he already knew; she was Agent Lee. After helping Will with Ray Burke, Lee had been transferred to Washington D.C.
"Lee, nice to see you again, how's everything going in Washington? - Jay got up from his desk approaching Lee.
"Hi Jay, you know what Washington is like, it's pure bureaucracy. How is Will? - Lee asked uncertainly.
"You know how Will is. So… you came to help with the case? " - Jay asked waiting for a yes for an answer.
"Yes, first I have to talk to your sergeant, and then you can explain me what you have in the case." Lee replied to Jay as she watched as Voight left her office.
"Agent Lee, thanks for coming. Let's go to my office to talk." - Voight invited her with a gesture towards her office.
Everyone in the unit watched as Agent Lee and Jay were talking. Jay looked good talking to her. They weren't talking in a flirtatious way; they were just two friends who hadn't spoken for a long time. But everyone was glad that Jay was acting like before the case. He was not like he had been the day before; they could tell that he was happy to talk to Lee.
"Guys update Agent Lee on the case." - Voight left his office, walking over to the blackboard.
Lee was in Chicago to determine if it could be an attack on the senator or just a group of people trying to pass themselves off as ARISS. Once the unit brought her up to speed. It took her a few seconds to decide what this was all about.
"Well, what do you think? - Jay asked with a desperate look.
"Sorry, but all of this has no connection to ARISS. The poster they found may have ARISS shield, but all this seems that your murder was a revenge. " Lee replied to Jay and she noticed his disappointment.
"And J.R. means something?" - Kevin asked
"Sorry guys, we don't have any evidence that J.R. have something to do with it. I honestly don't know what it means and…" - Lee was explaining until she was interrupted.
"So, the feds are not going to help, even though is there a possibility that the murder is connected to ARISS?" - Jay interrupted her, you could tell that he was angry.
"Look we have enough with the typical threats that are made to the senator, and to be honest, we are focused on the senator, rather than a homicide." - Lee finished and said goodbye to everyone.
They were all disappointed that they weren't going to have the support of the FBI, but they were also relieved that they believed this was all just revenge and not a possible terrorist attack. But Jay was upset, maybe more upset than the day before. He knew that ARISS had something to do with the homicide, he just had to find a connection or something that might work. And he was determined to find it.
I hope you liked the chapter.
