Rosalie was just going to make sure the girl was safe. She wasn't going to talk to her or even let the girl see her but she just needed to make sure she was alright. Getting away from her family had been easy. Everyone was doing their own thing since leaving Forks, so no one questioned her wanting to visit their cousins in Alaska. They didn't need to know that she was going to make a stop before actually going there. That stop being the house of one Bella Swan.

The house was dark with no lights left on. Rosalie smiled when she noticed Bella's truck in the driveway. She had never admitted it to anyone but she spent a few nights fixing that truck while Bella slept to make sure it was safe enough for the girl to drive. The last thing she wanted was for Bella to have an accident because of something Rosalie could have easily fixed. To keep the secret she careful hid her thoughts from Edward and made last minute decisions Alice couldn't predict. She didn't even tell her best friend Emmett she did it even though he knew of her feelings for the girl.

The girl whose window she was now crawling into. She hated herself for doing this, as she had threatened bodily harm to Edward over this same behavior but she didn't hear any heartbeats in the house so she figured it was the safest way to check on Bella without being caught. As she slip inside the house she froze. The smell of a foreign vampire hit her nostrils causing her to growl. It wasn't strong in Bella's room but as she ran down the stairs it was overpowering. When she entered the living room she inhaled and realized she had smelled this vampire before but she didn't know where.

In a panic she searched the house thoroughly to find any clues to who it was or if they had harmed Bella. She didn't find any signs of a struggle or anything that seemed to be out of place, which confused her more. That would mean that it was likely that Bella had willingly let the vampire in her house. Rosalie didn't know how to feel about that. Her rational side was pleased because it meant that Bella could have someone strong protecting her. It was her irrational side that that was furious at the idea of any one else even being around Bella especially someone like a vampire who could easily hurt Bella.

"Ok, think, Rosalie." Rosalie mumbled out loud. "If you were Bella Swan danger magnet, where would you go with a vampire? Assuming that vampire is friendly, as it seems it is, from the smell you both sat together on the couch for an extended period of time. Why were you sitting on the couch with a vampire? Oh Bella what have you gotten yourself into?"

Swallowing down her despair at whatever horrible situation Bella got herself into Rosalie scented the couch one more time to get the new vampire's scent. Deciding to follow it as far as she could hoping to get some clue as to where either they or Bella might be she went out through Bella's window and started to follow the trail from the front door. The scent was fresh there and seemed to lead to the driveway where it mixed with Bella's.

"Shit they must of taken a car." Rosalie groaned. "Of course Bella wouldn't make this easy for me."

Deciding to keep her search going Rosalie picked up a lighter scent that had probably been left no more than a day ago. She followed it the best she could through the woods until she came upon a gas station that had a strong stench of fresh blood coming from it.Feeling the burn in the back of her throat flare she held her breath while she investigated the scene not liking the conclusion she came to. There was no body but there was blood splatter by the outside bathroom door that indicated a violent struggle.

Rosalie sighed as she realized the seriousness of Bella's situation. "Of course you got yourself mixed up with a blood drinking vampire because hanging around a vampire wasn't bad enough you had to pick one that probably wants to drain you. I should never have left you."

Before she slipped into a long session of self deprecation she forced herself to keep going. Bella needed her even if she didn't know it yet. Walking away from the blood Rosalie took small breaths to keep the trail. When she came upon a mound of dirt she begrudgingly admitted that at least the vampire Bella was with was smart enough to not bring attention to themselves. The very last thing Bella needed was for the Volturi to come investigating and find her. They wouldn't give anyone the chance to change Bella they would just kill her outright and then dispose of everyone involved.

When she finally got away from the body she took a deep breath and noticed that the trail was leading her to Port Angeles. As she got to the outskirts of town she fixed her clothing and hair to blend in better with the few humans that were walking along the streets. The smell became stronger as she walked towards an apartment building.

It was just as she picked up Bella's scent that Rosalie found herself slammed against a brick wall in the alley next to the building with a hand around her neck. She instantly recognized the smell as the forgiven vampire and she found herself faced with a very familiar face. Dread swept over her as she felt the full danger of the situation Bella found herself in.

"Who are you, why are you in my territory and why shouldn't I kill you?" Victoria asked. She had felt her survival instinct kick in while she was trying to get Bella settled and was worried someone had followed them. When she realized it was only one vampire she decided to ambush them before they got a chance to hurt her or Bella.

"I am looking for Bella." Rosalie croaked out trying to pry Victoria's hands from her throat.

Victoria tightened her hold on Rosalie's neck watching as small cracks started to appear. "Wrong answer."

"Wait, wait. I mean no harm." Rosalie pleaded. "I'm a friend. I just want to make sure she is alright."

"Bella doesn't have any vampire friends." Victoria said.

Rosalie winced. "We were friends before my family left."

"You're a Cullen." Victoria growled and bared her teeth. "Which one are you?"

"Rosalie." Rosalie sighed as the hands loosened enough for her to breath freely.

"She told me not to hurt you. She said that nothing about what happened was your fault." Victoria told her.

"What?" Rosalie asked. "Where is Bella?"

"Bella told me about what happened. She said that if I wanted to get my revenge on the Cullens that I should spare you. You were the only one who actually wanted to follow the rules and either kill her or change her. If you had James would still be alive." Victoria released her hold on Rosalie.

Rosalie sighed in relief as she licked her finger and spread some venom to repair her throat. "I didn't want your mate to be killed. It wasn't fair that anybody was put in that situation."

"James wasn't my mate." Victoria shook her head. "Why did you think that?"

"Wait,if he wasn't your mate then why did you kidnap Bella?" Rosalie asked. "None of this was her fault. You shouldn't be taking any of your anger out on her."

Victoria growled. "I didn't kidnap Bella. She is with me willingly."

"Oh." Rosalie was confused. This whole situation just created more questions with every answer she got. "Well if Bella is with you willingly then can I see her?"

"She may have vouched for you but I don't trust you." Victoria wasn't getting any warning that Rosalie was a danger but she was a Cullen and the Cullens were untrustworthy. "Your family left Bella unprotected when you thought you had killed my mate. If it weren't for the fact that I wasn't, Bella would be dead right now."

"I know we left. I was forced to go because Carlise is my sire. He leads the coven and he makes the final decision. If he believes we are going to disobey he enforces it through the sire bond. I had no choice. As soon as I got the chance I came back to see Bella. I only got to her house a couple hours ago.I just want to see her." Rosalie explained.

Victoria thought this through. She had only just brought Bella back to her apartment and really needed to get back to her incase something went wrong. She also didn't have anything in the house to take care of Bella and being away from her mate when she was hurt was not something she was willing to do. "How close are you to your family?"

"Not close at all. I only stay with them because I have no other place to go. My brother Emmett is the only one I'm really close to. What does this have to do with Bella?"Rosalie asked.

Victoria ignored the question. "How often are you around the mind reader?"

"I'm not around him that much lately. Even when I am I know how to hides my thoughts from him. Why are you asking all this." Rosalie was getting angry, all she wanted was to see Bella.

"How often does the seer look into your future? Will she see know where you are right now?" Victoria asked.

It was the small amount of distress in Victoria's voice that caused Rosalie to pause. "She isn't really interested in what I do and even if she was it's easy to lead her on a false path. I've been with them for almost a century I know how to get around their gifts. Why are you asking all this? Can I please see Bella?"

"Bella was injured." Victoria held up her hand stopping Rosalie's reply. "I didn't hurt her. I don't have anything in my apartment to take care of a human. I need food and medical supplies."

"Medical supplies." Rosalie screeched. "Why do you need medical supplies? Where is Bella? What happened?"

"If you go get all the things I need for her I will explain everything." Victoria told her. "I promise, I just can't leave her alone right now."

"If she's hurt we need to take her to the hospital." Rosalie was trying to control the panic that was quickly overtaking her body.

"We can't take her to a hospital. Trust me please. Everything will be explained when you come back." Victoria didn't like having to ask for help but she would beg if she had to, if it meant help for Bella.

"I'll go but I expect answers when I return and I want to see Bella."Rosalie didn't like anything about this situation but if Bella was hurt she would do anything to make her better.

Victoria let out a sigh of relief."I promise. As soon as you get back I'll take you right to her."

Rosalie took off towards the super market without responding, thankful that it was open till midnight. She would gladly get the things to help Bella but after she did she was going to see her even if she had to fight Victoria to do so.
