Chapter Seven: Chance For Me

Izuku stirred. The prior night had been filled with such passionate lovemaking that the greenette was surprised that no one had come to the room complaining about the noise. But now it was morning, and morning meant two things.

One, He was forced to wake up, something that he honestly despised more than Overhaul himself. Seriously, why couldn't he just sleep forever, especially after last night. He slept so peacefully that it almost seemed like a crime to be awoken by the sunrays peering into Kyouka's room.

Two, he was going to have to find a way to separate himself from Kyouka so that the others didn't find out about them. Truthfully, he had no reason to hide anything, but he'd rather not deal with the controversy that came along with them cementing their relationship and people finding out about it.

"Ughh…" The greenette groaned, attempting to use his arm to shield his eyes only for him to realize that it was pinned down by Kyouka resting atop it. Of course she'd be there, after last night all they could really think about was each other and the passion they had for one another. He smiled at the memory and relented himself to embracing the woman. They could get a few more minutes in.

"Good. I was gonna hurt you if you tried to get up." Kyouka mumbled as she snuggled closer to the greenette. Izuku turned to look at the woman as his brows furrowed. Of course she'd be awake, she was just enjoying every little moment of being like this, though he realistically couldn't blame her.

"You know we still have work to do today, right?" Izuku questioned rhetorically, already expecting a harsh response.

"Five more minutes. If you try to argue I gouge your eyes out."

"Thought you'd say that…" He replied, sighing as he got comfortable in the bed. There was no realistic way of him escaping this, nor did he even really want to, but if someone were to walk in on them they'd be met with a face full of Izuku's nude back.

"You're my boyfriend now, get used to this." She stated, smiling as the two laid together in tandem. Being up against one another like this truly just felt right, like there was nowhere else either of them wanted to be but here.

"Yeah, it's got a nice ring to it. Love you, shorty." Izuku teases, feeling her twitch slightly out of irritation.

"Not short, you're just a freak."

"A freak that you love."

"...Shut up." She countered, hiding her face into the covers of the bed, feeling Izuku's soft chuckle at her embarrassment. Suddenly the couple would hear a phone ring, and both of them simultaneously groaned in annoyance.

Izuku would take the responsibility of being the one that got up to investigate, and found that he had left his phone in his pants pocket. Quickly taking it out, the greenette would find that it was actually one of the hosts at the front desk trying to contact him. Must have been important.

"Hello?" The greenette answered groggily, his hoarse voice sending a tingle up the purplettes spine despite the fact she was still in bed. His morning voice was just that damn magical.

"U-Uh, , sir? Someone's down in the lobby causing a commotion and he refuses to leave until he speaks with you, and ." The receptionist replies, causing the greenettes' brow to furrow in annoyance.

"Did they give you a name?"

"U-Uh, yes, Todoroki." The receptionist replied once more, causing the greenettes eyes to widen in pure rage. How dare that man show himself here of all places. This was the final straw. "Sir?"

"I'll be right down."

"SHOUTOOOOOOO!" A red haired middle-aged man shouted, scaring a few visitors of the hotel as Izuku and his dual-haired right hand approached the man in order to get him to leave.

"Enji, leave before I have to forcibly escort you off the property." Izuku threatened, his piercing glare not even phasing the behemoth of a man before him. Izuku and Shouto glared the man down, with Shouto's gaze being especially disdainful towards his father.

"You don't scare me, boy." The man replied, his rather husky appearance scaring the poor receptionist at the front desk, yet both Izuku and Shouto showed no fear towards the man, and vice versa. They were locked in a battle of willpower, and Izuku was chocked full of it. "Besides, I'm not here for you, Midoriya. I'm here for my son."

"I refuse to go with you, Bastard!" Shouto exclaimed, attempting to step forward to attack the man, only to be stopped by Izuku's arm being held out in front of him. "Midoriya, don't try to stop me."

"If you attack him you'll only be forced to go with him." Izuku explained, his quick analysis pulling through. He knew that was what Enji wanted. He wanted Shouto to attack him so that he'd be arrested, but what Izuku didn't get was why he was still trying. Shouto was well past the age of 18, he could make decisions for himself now, and he didn't have to be tied down by his father anymore. "What do you really want, Enji?"

"Seems the rumors of your intuition are true. I must say it's rather impressive, but that won't stop me. I want Shouto to come home, it's time he came to run the family business." The man explained, crossing his arms in a rather stoic manner. He was a respected individual, though not without controversy as he had been known to… Burn his business competitors.

"You mean the family business of arsonists? A family of psychopathic killers that can't handle when people overtake them in sales? Only reason you haven't tried it with the Midoriya's is because you know exactly what would happen. Don't you, Enji?" Izuku countered, antagonizing the man and filling him with a jealous rage. Truthfully, Enji had no right to be angry, Izuku was the one who was having his lovely morning with Kyouka ruined. The man uncrossed his arms and balled his fists in frustration.

"You don't know me, you have no right-" The man started, being quickly intercepted by Izuku.

"I have no right to what? Speak the truth? Oh, trust me, I know more about you than even you do, Enji Todoroki. Continue arguing with me, and we're going to have a real problem, Sir." The greenette stated, placing his hands into his pockets as he prepared himself for what was to happen next. He was fully aware that he had tipped the man over his breaking point and watched as he raised his fist to strike him.

" !" A female voice called, causing all parties involved in this altercation to turn their heads to the now approaching Inko Midoriya. Izuku's eyes widened in fear, if his mother was here that could only mean one thing. Her mother-senses were tingling.

"M-Mom? What are you doing here?" Izuku questioned, watching as the rather short woman approached the three men.

"I caught wind of an incident of a poor boy being treated terribly by his father!" She explained, passing a side-eyed glance to the now very confused Enji Todoroki. "And I couldn't sit by and just leave it be. You come onto my family's property and cause an uproar over your adult son? Well, now he's my son. I'm going to be battling you for custody of little Shouto here, Enji."

"What!? You can't just do that-"

"Oh but I can, . All I need is the adoption papers from the court." Inko interrupted, scowling at the man in front of her son- No, her sons. "Now off the premises, unless you'd rather have more charges on your case?"

Enji grumbled and adjusted his tie, clearing his throat at his surprising fear of the rather smaller Midoriya. Inko was a friend of Rei Todoroki, and she had every reason to be disdainful towards the man. She wasn't going to let him harm anyone else under her watch again. "This isn't over, . I will have my son."

"Not while I'm around, ." Inko proclaimed, shooing the man off before turning to the two boys she came to see. Todoroki seemed to be in awe that she had been able to get rid of his father that easily, and Izuku was silently fearing for his life. His mother was on a rampage.

"Mom, what the hell was that? You're really just gonna adopt him? Just like that?" Izuku questioned, flinching as his mother's piercing gaze striked fear throughout his body.

"Is there a problem with that? You already have 2 adopted siblings, Izuku." Inko challenged, scowling at her son. He wasn't going to try and oppose the idea, was he?

"N-No, no problem at all! Sorry, i-it's just been awhile since I've seen you like this, mom…" The greenette replied as he bowed his head in apology. The short woman would huff in a teasing annoyance before she nudged her son with her elbow.

"It's fine, we'll talk about it later. Get me the best lawyers you can, and contact those detectives of yours. Now go, she's been waiting for you over there all this time." Inko stated, pointing behind the greenette. Izuku turns his head to see Kyouka standing a few ways behind him, leaning against a pillar and eyeing him down with a small amount of annoyance present on her face.

The girl was adorned in a black blazer that was opened up enough to reveal a bit of cleavage along with black dress pants and black heels. Drooping out of the pocket of her blazer was a decorative chain, and to top off the rest of the outfit she was wearing an all black wide-brim fedora.

"O-Oh, right… To- Shouto, are you going to be alright?" Izuku questioned, turning his head to his dual-haired friend, concern washing over his face. The man nodded, remaining silent as he allowed the greenette to go on about his business so he could get back to work.

Izuku wandered off, and that now left the normally stoic Shouto Todoroki to stand alone in the main hall of the hotel. The boy took a deep breath to hold back his tears, onlookers too afraid to reach a hand out to help, all but one.

"Um… Todoroki-San?" A voice called. Todoroki turned to face the origin of the voice, shocked to find out that it was Uraraka of all people who had called out to him. The two had talked before, almost on the regular, but it was definitely a surprise to see her so concerned for him.

"Uraraka… Sorry, uh, did you need something?" He replied, wiping his eyes of his tears as he turned to face her fully. The brunette shook her head as she fiddled with her hands nervously.

"N-No, it's nothing like that…" She responded, gripping onto her hands to stop herself from fidgeting out of nervousness. "I saw what happened, and I was just wondering if you're alright? You've been there for our family for so long and I just want you to know that you can always talk to me if you need it. Me, and all the rest of the family are here for you."

"Uraraka…" The man whispered under his breath before a small smile graced his lips. He wasn't alone, he had a real family that he could always turn to. "Thank you, but I'm not deserving of it… Everyone has done plenty for me."

The brunette watched as the man began to leave, though something in her urged her to grab ahold of the man, stopping him from moving any further. "N-No! Todoroki, we can never do enough for you, you've helped us so much. You've helped Izuku, and the rest of our family for years, your father could never dream of doing that! I-I know you fear that you might become like him, but you won't! You're amazing in every sense of the word, and you never ask for anything in return! Is that really something your father would do for a friend?"

Todoroki's mismatched eyes grew wide. Never before had he seen Uraraka so passionate about something, though it did cause a rise in his heartbeat. So much so that he had begun to feel butterflies in his stomach, and… Was he blushing? What was this feeling? Had she always felt that the man was so dependable? Sure she had always called for him for his aid, but this was new. He was feeling something foreign, though something about the word friend had bugged him. It didn't feel like it was the right way to describe the girl.

"No… But you-" He started, taking a step towards her as a small smile graced his face. Uraraka began to feel her face heat up at Todoroki's close proximity, but she refused to back down! He needed to understand how amazing he was, and she was determined to get her point across! "...You're not a friend. You're more than that."

Ochako's face exploded with red, her heart suddenly skipping a beat as she felt the heat of embarrassment wash over her body. It didn't help that he was so close, but his face… His handsome face- No! What the hell was she thinking about!?

"Wh-What are you saying, c-c'mon now Todoroki quit joking around." The brunette exclaimed, placing a hand to the dual-haired man's chest, pushing him back slightly out of embarrassment. "Y-You can't just say things like that, p-people might get the wrong i-idea."

"No, I mean it. You and everyone else are more than friends. You're my true family, and had I known you had thought so highly of me I would have told you this sooner." Todoroki stated, looking down at the brunette's small hand before he gripped onto it with his own. He squeezed it firmly as Ochako had begun to have a small freakout over his actions. "You're important to me. More than you could ever know."

Now in moments of real embarrassment like this, there was only one real response that Ochako could manage. No, it wasn't trying to get to the bottom of what the man was talking about, but instead a much greater solution to her own embarrassment.

She ran away.

"O-Oi! Uraraka-San!?" Todoroki called out, watching as the brunette dashed away with her hands covering her tomato red face. Was it something he had said? Why was she running from him? Was… Was she afraid of kindness!?

No, that wasn't it. Though that rather flustered look on her face… It was adorable. He had hardly ever taken notice of the girl prior to this interaction, though he knew how kind she was. But now it felt like there was more to it, like maybe there was something about her that made him feel this way.

Ochako on the other hand didn't know how to process any of what had just happened. Truthfully she only went to comfort him out of concern for his well being, but then he went and said something so… Strange.

It made her feel strange, like there was something pulling on her heart, but she couldn't pinpoint what it was. His face was so kind, and his words had struck a chord in her heart. She couldn't handle it, but she knew one thing… She liked it.

She liked the look that he had given her. She liked that he had said something so kind, and she liked that she was able to comfort him in such a way that caused him to smile. The usual stoic and emotionless Todoroki had smiled at her. And what did he mean she was more? Was this… Love?

Oh god she was falling for him, wasn't she? This was so soon! It was so weird, but she couldn't say that she hated it. No, perhaps what was so terrifying was that she was enjoying all of this. It was so foreign, but when she thought of him, his face, his hair, and his smile… She couldn't help but to be captivated by him.

Shouto wasn't any better. As he wandered off, assuming that Ochako had just had something to do, he thought long and hard about what had transpired. What was that feeling? How could he have been blushing? How could his heart race like this if he wasn't in the heat of battle? Why was it so… Scary?

It was scary to feel this way about someone. Especially now with his father wanting to force his way back into his life he feared that she would become collateral if anyone found out that he had viewed her as important. It was scary to know that his best friend was literally protective over her. If Izuku were to find out… Well, Shouto assumed that dying would be the least of his worries.

Oh how the two knew what would happen if Izuku found out. Perhaps because they were adults and were so close to him it would be fine, but any or all of Ochako's suitors had… Mysteriously disappeared after doing a single thing wrong. These strange feelings of… Affection had seemed to leave the two frazzled for they knew not what to do.

With everything that is going down, what could they do about them? Would it even work out if they acted on these feelings? Shouto sighed.

"What did she do to me…" Shouto mumbled, running a hand through his hair as he entered one of the elevators. He could feel his scar tingle slightly as he thought of her. "What do I do..?"

On Ochako's end, the brunette held a hand to her rapidly beating heart as she entered her room. She too shared the same question. What had he done to her? Why was she feeling this way?

Perhaps they'd find out soon.
