Hey everybird! What's up!?
So I just watched Godzilla vs Kong… And oh boy… Was it as great and awesome as I hoped it would be! Although to be honest, I think I like King of the Monsters a little more, but still I can't wait to see what happens next after Godzilla vs Kong!
Anyway… With that said, lets continue!
Chapter 7: A Strange Place
Eduardo was pacing back and forth in his hollow he lived in with his sister, his eyes all red from lack of sleep as the old bird looked liked he would faint any second.
"I knew I should have stopped her from leaving, she's been gone too long, who knows what happened to her." Eduardo spoke as he walked about in the hollow aimlessly.
"You know you can't stop her Eddie, she made it pretty clear she's not going to come back until she finds her." Mimi replied.
"I don't like it, I think we should go after her." Eduardo suggested.
"And what?" Mimi questioned. "Force her to come back here? Tell me that her mother's really gone?"
"Mimi!" Eduardo snapped as he right away turned to his sister. "She is! Okay! I couldn't save her! And now there's a chance I'm going to lose Jewel, my son in law, and my grandkids!" Eduardo pausing as he lowered his voice. "I… I just can't lose anyone anymore."
"I know, but you know Jewel as well as I do, she's going to be okay." Mimi putting a wing on Eduardo. "You need to rest little brother, you still need to be here when she comes back."
"If she does…" Eduardo told himself in his head. "Please come back to me Jewel…"
In some place, in the Amazon…
"Mom, mom…" Jewel heard Tiago's voice call out to her repeatedly as Jewel became alert even if her view was pitch black at first.
The last thing Jewel remembered was getting bitten by one of the snakes, the venom knocking her out alongside Blu, leaving her kids to a terrible fate. Jewel found the will to get back to reality as her eyes began to slowly open, everything blurry and unfocused as she was rather confused… Why wasn't she inside a snake's stomach right now and her son was still in one piece?
Jewel's vision soon enough cleared up completely, even thought it was still a little dark apparently as Jewel felt slightly weak as there was a stinging pain where the snake bit her. To Jewel's surprise, there was a makeshift bandage attached, keeping what appeared to be a natural healing substance of some kind. As Jewel took in her surroundings, she saw Blu next to her, getting woken up by Bia and Carla as Blu came to it as well.
"Blu, are you okay?" Jewel finally asked as Blu rubbed his head, shaking it a little and getting back to the real world.
"A little dizzy, but I'm fine…" Blu replied as he couldn't quite get up yet, still recovering as he also had the same treatment Jewel was given. "What happened and how long were we out for?"
"Some macaws came and got us out, took us to this cave system." Bia started.
"They treated you mom and dad, gave you something they said would heal you." Carla continued.
"But then they threw us all in here and told us they were going to decide what to do with us." Tiago finished.
That was when both Blu and Jewel realized they were in a sort of prison cell, with rock surrounding three side and the last side being covered by wooden bars that were held together by strong vines. Jewel got up, feeling a little shaky since she just got up from her state, and came to the wooden bars, trying to break them, but failing. Jewel's efforts caught the attention of those that threw the family in there as Jewel saw a couple of macaws, two different kinds wearing strange face paint come to them with makeshift wooden spears.
"Let us go!" Jewel demanded. "You have no right to hold us!"
"Quit your struggling, we just saved you from becoming a meal, now relax it's not like you'll break out of there." One of the macaws sternly told Jewel.
"What do you plan on doing with us?" Blu asked. "We're just looking for a specific bird who actually may be one of you."
"That is not our decision, that is up to the council and the leader of the tribe." The other macaw answered as he nodded to the other with him, the first macaw leaving as the second one still kept guard.
Meanwhile, in another part of the cave system, in a circle were various kinds of macaws, all wearing the face paint, discussing what to do with the Blue macaw family.
"We should let them go, we don't keep prisoners, at least not other birds." One of the macaws argued.
"And then what happens?" Another shot back. "They tell their tribe where we are and they declare war on us for taking their members?"
"Agreed, it's too dangerous to let them go." Another nodded her head in agreement.
"So what?" A fourth snapped back. "We get rid of them? We're civil and we don't take our own kind, even if they are outsiders."
While the group of macaws argued back and forth, what appeared to be the leader was sitting quietly on a high spot, thinking about what to do while listening to the various arguments being made. As the quiet macaw was thinking, the guard who left Blu and Jewel came into the place, bowing his head towards the macaw on the high side before politely addressing the new issue.
"Excuse me ma'am, but the two adult ones are finally awake and up, one of them said they're looking for a specific bird who may be one of us." The guard reported as the group of macaws stopped to listen and as the guard finished, turned to the high up macaw.
"Bring them all to me, I would like to hear what they have to say…" The high up macaw spoke softly, but with a clear commanding tone in her voice.
"Yes ma'am." The guard bowed before going to carry out his orders.
Meanwhile back with Jewel and her family they were very confused and worried as the other guard came back and whispered something to the one he left to watch the family. With the other guard surprised, but understanding what they needed to do, they came to the wooden bars of the cell, unlocking it, but keeping their spears at the ready as they also held onto sacks made of leaves. Jewel guessed that the guards made her kids put those on when they came here.
"Put these over your heads and follow us." One of the guards directed.
"Not until you tell us what's happening…" Jewel snapped back as she refused to listen to the order.
"You will do what we say, whether you like it or not!" The second guard getting angry.
"We better do what they say Jewel, we'll be fine as long as we stay together." Blu calming Jewel down as Blu took one of the larger made sacks and put it over his head, blinding him so he couldn't see anything while the kids did the same.
Jewel had no choice, but to follow as her family did, putting the other large sack over her head as the guards got the family in line and began to move them out of the cell. While the sack blinded Jewel and her family to where they were generally, Jewel could still see through a little, noticing cracks of sunlight coming down through, providing some light, which told her they were not too deep into the ground. Also Jewel could still hear perfectly, hearing such sounds like rushing water and even other macaws of all ages nearby.
Eventually the family was stopped and made to stand in a row as the guards took off the sacks, the kids' first before Blu and Jewel, the family taking in the sight before them…
Before them was "supposedly" the council of this "tribe" of macaws, all in a circle around the natural made room, however they noticed a break in the circle directly opposite them as it was a small stone pillar rising up. The family lifted their gaze upward until their eyes fell upon an elder female Blue macaw, who of course had the same kind of strange face paint as everyone else, except the Blue macaw family had.
The elder Blue macaw's feathers being light blue in color, with white feathers around the beak and eyes, and most importantly her eye color being a bright sapphire like color…
"It can't be…" Jewel not believing her eyes as she spoke at first to herself in her head before getting out a single word for all to hear. "Mom?"
And I'll leave it there!
Quite a development am I right!? But I hope you're all excited for what will come next! Until than…
See everybird later!
