Sunday morning Owen woke to a lound knock on the door. He wasn't meeting Teddy until 9, they both wanted to sleep in as much as the kids allowed, Teddy thought she could get Allison to sleep longer since she had gone to bed so late the night before. He checked his alarm clock, 6:30. He grabbed a pair of sweats before leaving his room. He thought it was Teddy in a panic but didn't want her to be uncomfortable with him in just his boxers. The person kept banging on the door.

"Teddy whats wrong," Owen called as the person kept banging, "is Allison okay?"

Owen opened the door.

"Surprise dumb dumb," Megan yelled.

"Megan," Owen asked.

"Aren't you going to invite me in? I did just fly all the way here from LA," Megan teased.

Owen stepped aside and grabbed her suitcase. Once they were inside Owen hugged Megan.

"Where's your daughter," Megan asked.

"Across the hall with Teddy," Owen said, "let Teddy sleep in."

"I'm up, she's up," Megan said and bounded across the hall.

"Megan Allison didn't go down until 10:30 and still feeds at least once overnight. Teddy is worn out," Owen said.

"Fine let's go sit at your place and wait until 7," Megan said, "is that a more socially acceptable time."

"Give Teddy until 8 if we haven't seen her by then you can knock," Owen said.

"Fine," Megan huffed.

They made small talk for the next little bit, at 7:15 Megan got impatient and bounded across the hall. She began to bang on Teddy's door.

"Owen. Is Leo okay? What's wrong," Teddy called, "I'm coming. Keep your pants on."

Owen smirked at that comment.

Teddy opened the door, "Megan? When? Why?"

"To sort out you two dumb dumbs," Megan said.

"Megan it's early," Teddy sighed, "now."

"Get the kids up and dressed," Megan said, "Auntie Megan is babysitting and you two are going to go work your shit out."

"Megan," Teddy sighed.

"Owen, Teddy," Megan commanded, "you two have a lot of shit 20 years of it now you have two kids that you have to figure out what you're going to do. Teddy coffee, Owen food, I'm starving."

"I'll start coffee," Teddy agreed, "but I need to feed Allison and shower."

"Leo will sleep for a bit yet," Owen said, "I'll watch Ali so you can shower."

"We all need showers," Megan said.

"Your bag is at my place, go shower," Owen told Megan.

"Teddy shower, feed baby then come meet us," Megan said.

"We were doing breakfast at my place," Teddy argued, "I have more of the groceries and kitchen stuff."

"I brought peanut butter," Megan teased, "you said you miss it."

"Bribing me with it now isn't working," Teddy said.

"When you wake up it will," Megan argued.

"Maybe," Teddy argued, "come over when you're ready."

"How," Megan asked.

"Owen has a key," Teddy said, "I'm going to shower before Allison wakes up."

"I need to meet her," Megan squealed.

"When she's awake and happy," Teddy said.

"When will that be," Megan asked.

"She'll be up soon. Then change her diaper and milk," Teddy said.

"I'll give her her bottle," Megan offered.

"I haven't even done that yet so no." Owen said.

"Bottles only at daycare," Teddy replied.

"Late surgeries," Owen asked.

"Yes when you have to put her to bed," Teddy agreed, "you can do bottles when it's just you and her."

"Daddy," Leo yelled.

Owen went into his place followed by Megan.

"Leo monster look who's here," Owen said as they went into the boy's room.

"Auntie," Leo yelled.

"Hi monster," Megan said standing by Leo's bed.

"Faroke," Leo tried.

"Just me," Megan said, "can you give auntie Megan a hug?"

Leo stood on his bed and Megan swung him around in a hug making Leo laugh.

"Can you play with him while I shower and shave," Owen said, "my girlfriend hates when I don't shave."

"Girlfriend." Megan said.

"Yesterday," Owen replied.

"So I came for nothing," Megan asked.

"You're still going to hang out with the kids so her and I can have some time alone," Owen said, "lunch and a walk no kids. We haven't been alone yet."

"I can do that," Megan said, "if this guy wasn't awake I'd have a few more questions."

"When I came to see her I wasn't planning on it going there," Owen said, "but she kissed me and before I knew it we were in bed. It felt right Megan."

"You and Teddy should have been together years before that," Megan said.

"We know, we've been talking, yesterday was good," Owen said, "her not telling me about Allison isn't entirely her fault. We both had a part in that."

"She let me believe it was a one night stand," Megan said, "I was confused Teddy was always so careful."

"She told me it would be okay, we thought it would be," Owen said, "I didn't come here planning that. I came to see her and talk to see if we wanted to try. I was not expecting to sleep with her. I wasn't prepared for that. Then we connected like we never had before. That was the first time. The only time."

"Once," Megan said.

"24 perfect hours," Owen said.

"More than," Megan asked.

"I'm going to shower." Owen said.

"I'll find coffee," Megan said.

"Teddy's," Owen said, "I have milk or apple juice."

"Milk," Leo asked.

"I've got him to go shower," Megan commanded.

"Sippy cups are in the cupboard," Owen said, "we tried a normal cup yesterday. Teddy had apple juice all over her because he spilt it."

"How did he get apple juice on Teddy," Megan asked.

"She had him in her lap and he had a regular cup of juice and dumped it all over both of them," Owen said, "I was playing with Ali and she was reading to him."

"I've got him and will use a sippy cup," Megan said, "go shower so I can."

Owen walked into the bathroom to shower and shave.

"Leo we need to change you," Megan said, "should we get you dressed. Where are your diapers and clothes?"

Megan saw the box of diapers and wipes by Leo's dresser and lifted him onto the dresser to change him. She found a pair of jeans and a T-shirt for him.

Owen found them sitting on the couch Leo dressed for the day in Megan's lap with his cup of milk.

"Did you want to shower and I'll take him to Teddy," Owen asked.

"Wasn't she getting herself and Allison ready," Megan asked.

"I'm going to start breakfast," Owen said.

"Coffee dumb dumb," Megan demanded.

"I know." Owen said.

Megan walked to shower and Owen picked up Leo, "let's go see mom."

"Moma," Leo tried.

"Yea," Owen said, "mom and Allison let's start breakfast for the girls."

Owen let himself in to Teddy's.

"Megan," Teddy asked from the couch.

"Just me," Owen said, "how's our peanut?"

"Hungry," Teddy said.

Owen put Leo on the floor and he ran to the toy baskets. He leaned over the back of the couch with his hands on Teddy's shoulders. She tipped her chin back to look up at him. Owen quickly bent to kiss her.

"Good morning," Teddy smiled.

"Good morning," Owen said.

"What does she know," Teddy asked.

"I was here 24 hours and she put together what we did," Owen said.

"Where is Megan," Teddy asked.

"Showering she'll come over when she's ready," Owen said.

"Where will she sleep," Teddy pondered.

"Leo's bed," Owen suggested.

"Leo," Teddy said.

"With me I guess," Owen said.

"I have a pack and play," Teddy offered.

With Allison happy Teddy passed her to Owen.

"Good morning Princess," Owen said.

"Lion man," Teddy said hugging Leo, "can you come help me with breakfast?"

"Weddy up," Leo said.

"Yes." Teddy said putting the tot on her hip.

Megan walked in as Teddy was taking breakfast things out with Leo on her hip.

"Don't pull my hair," Teddy said, "Leo that hurts."

"Isn't this domesticated," Megan commented.

"It's been 24 hours," Owen said.

"And we know you can mess everything up in that time frame," Megan snapped.

"That day is between us," Teddy said.

"Teddy do you know why I have orders to come here," Megan asked.

"You can technically say no," Teddy replied, "I need another trauma surgeon. Someone with a lot of field time and who can teach it. Someone who understands the reconstruction side as well. I want to bridge you between initial trauma and reconstruction."

"Here," Megan said.

"You were the Hunt I requested six months ago. Then Owen came back and they needed to assign him something," Teddy said.

"Do I still answer to him," Megan asked.

"Yes and you all answer to me at work," Teddy said, "don't call any one a dumb dumb and we'll be okay."

"He is a dumb dumb," Megan said.

"Megan you don't know the whole story," Owen said, "that's our business."

"How did you two dumb dumbs mange to creat a baby in a one night stand," Megan cackled, "you're both surgeons, your doctors. It's not like either of you have other kids I haven't met running around you know how to prevent them."

"Megan stop," Teddy commanded.

"You don't have other children," Megan said, "just these two."

Teddy set Leo on the floor and grabbed Megan by the arm pulling her into Teddy's bedroom and closing the door.

"You have no idea," Teddy hissed, "you didn't see how much it almost killed him, broke him when Christina aborted their baby. She made that decision with no regard for him. Or how Ameila refused to even think about a child together."

"I didn't know," Megan said wide eyed.

"Of course you didn't," Teddy said, "he still won't talk about it. He asked me if I considered it. If I considered aborting Allison. That never crossed my mind."

"His ex wife killed their baby," Megan said stuck on that.

"Yes," Teddy said, "it was Chrisitina she did what she wanted regardless of how he felt about it."

"I don't like what Ive heard about her," Megan said.

"The relationship was never easy," Teddy agreed, "they didn't always understand each other. She's a good person but not for him. She was my resident in Seattle, I trained her, she grew a lot but they wanted different things. He will always be hurt by what happened with that baby. He will always wonder what if. I hid our baby from him for a long time."

"Why did you hide Allison," Megan asked.

"Fear," Teddy said, "we should go back out there before he thinks we're conspiring against him."

"Then can I hold Allison," Megan asked.

"Yes," Teddy replied, "if you can get her away from Owen. He's not sharing her very well. He likes to be super dad."

"That picture of the four of you hiking," Megan said, "that was adorable."

"It was good," Teddy said, "natural."

"You two should have been together 20 years ago," Megan said.

"Timing wasn't right," Teddy replied.

"Now," Megan asked

"We'll see. We're working it out. He's on a six month contract. Mine is permanent," Teddy said, "if it's working well, we will decide together then. Either way I'll be around and so will Allison. We'll do what is best for both kids."

"Can I say no to my offer," Megan asked, "I like what I'm doing in LA and I don't want to uproot Faroke again. He's just started making real friends. There's nothing here for Nathan."

"We have a cardio spot I was going to go after him," Teddy said.

"Faroke is finally settled it's taken two years," Megan said, "I can't uproot him in middle school."

"Think about it," Teddy said, "I'd like to have you both. Faroke could be near his cousins."

"Mom," Megan said, "we can't abandon her."

"I'm staying here," Owen said, "the first week was good. My kids are here. Teddy can't leave her position. She's worked too hard for too long for it."

"We'll do what's best for our kids," Teddy declared.

"Tomorrow I get them all day," Megan smiled.

"No," Teddy said, "Allison is still having some separation anxiety at daycare in the morning. I don't want to take her off her routine. This week was better."

"That's better," Owen asked.

"20 minutes on Friday and they said she didn't scream when we left," Teddy answered, "one day it took me two hours and she screamed for an hour after I left."

"Who takes them to daycare," Megan asked.

"We both do," Teddy said, "mornings with these two are a two parent job."

"What language are they using at daycare," Megan asked.

"They have German and English groups. I have Allison in a German group so she learns it," Teddy said, "English at home and German at daycare. She'll be bilingual. We live here she has to be able to communicate and the younger I start it the better, the staff is all bilingual."

"Leo is doing the German immersion group to help him learn it and make friends," Owen said, "I'm taking lessons starting Tuesday two nights a week."

"Teddy," Megan asked.

"I'm fluent now," Teddy said, "I've gone days not using English before. I've been here alone and grumbled in german. I've even dreamed in it. But I was having some crazy dreams with Allison so I don't know what to make of it."

"I still think you should have told me," Megan said, "I would have come out and been with you for few weeks, you didn't have to be alone."

"Yes me swearing and saying how much I wanted to kill Owen in the moment would have given it away," Teddy said.

"Are we hyphenating her last name," Megan asked.

"Haven't got there yet," Owen said.

"We should," Teddy replied, "it's a big name for our little peanut though."

"She's precious," Megan said, "can I?"

"You're not going to stop till you do," Owen teased.

"No and you love me," Megan laughed.

"We do," Teddy said.

Owen passed Allison to Megan who took her to the window seat to bond with the baby.

"Weddy hungry," Leo whined.

"I know I got distracted with auntie Megan," Teddy said.

Megan laughed, "in a week he's learned Teddy is a better cook?"

"We've been eating most meals here and she does a lot of the cooking," Owen said, "I clean up."

"He gets the worst of it," Teddy said, "two kids who are messy eaters. But it give me bath time for both, his place only has a shower and I have a tub so it's easier to clean them both up here."

Teddy picked up Leo and put him in the booster seat and quickly cut up some fruit for him, putting it on a plate in front of him.

Not so much," Owen warned, "you over feed him."

"He's fine," Teddy said, "he likes it."

"But he won't eat any protein if you let him fill up on fruit now," Owen said, "give him half of that."

Teddy took some of the fruit off Leo's plate. Owen set the table for three adults and two kids.

After breakfast was cleaned up Megan took both kids and said, "you two are going to go sort yourselves out."

"We were going to a favourite park because it's got snow," Teddy said, "take the kids to play in the snow."

"Then you two are sorting yourselves out," Megan said.

"Megan we had a good talk while they napped yesterday," Owen said, "were good."

"Separate apartments," Megan said.

"We're dating and building up to that," Teddy said.

"I rented the place for six months," Owen said.

"My lease is up a month after his," Teddy said, "we'll decide what to do in a couple months. We're all eating and hanging out here, we're only apart to sleep."

"Where am I sleeping," Megan asked.

"Leo's bed then Teddy has a pack and play for him that will go in my room," Owen said.

Teddy's phone rang.

"It's Sunday Christina," Teddy snapped.

"We need a good trauma surgeon," Christina said, "I don't have someone the calibur of yours."

"I only have one not working or on call and his sister is here," Teddy said.

"Can they talk us through it," Chrsitina asked.

"I'm not asking Owen to do that," Teddy said, "and he's in my kitchen now but we're spending the day with our kids and Megan."

"Why is he there," Christina asked.

"He's Allison's father," Teddy said.

"You two are together," Chrsitina asked.

"We are," Teddy said, "he's coming to the innovation conference next month. We have two kids with us. Allison you've met and did not hold. I thought I taught you better than that. I taught you to be human and have a heart. You work on them enough, use it."

"Who is she talking to," Megan asked.

"Christina Yang I think," Owen replied.

Teddy gave them the thumbs up.

"Christina I don't have a spare trauma surgeon to lend you right now," Teddy snapped.

She listened more, "no I am not sending you Owen. Megan is in town, Allison hasn't spent much time with him and I'm bonding with Leo."

She kept listening, "I don't care what Grey said. I am not lending you one of my surgeons. And not a Hunt."

"I can go if they can get me there," Megan offered, "I want to meet her."

"No," Teddy said, "the kids need auntie Megan."

"The kids," Chrsitna said.

"Allison and Leo," Teddy replied, "we're just heading to the park. We can't send you a surgeon. We can consult if you call the hospital."

Chrsitna hung up, that wasn't what she had wanted. Pre baby Teddy would have flown herself and had a few shots after surgery before going back.

"Still wants her own way," Owen said.

"She'll never grow up," Teddy replied, "she wouldn't touch Allison when Chrsitina came here for a conference a few months ago. And told me I was no fun when I wouldn't drink with her a year ago."

"Let's go to the park," Owen said.

"We have a baby sled," Teddy said, "two kids will be tight on it but maybe."

"One in a carrier the one we used for him yesterday should work for both right," Owen asked.

"Yes," Teddy said, "she's just at the bottom of the weight range for it."

They spent the morning in the park and came back for lunch. Once the kids were asleep for naps Teddy decided to curl up with her book for a bit with some tea. Owen recognized her having had enough of people, he knew Teddy had always liked her time to think and be alone with her thoughts. Teddy was an introvert who liked her routines and plans, Megan just showing up would have thrown her and put her on edge.

Megan followed Owen back to his place.

"What are you going to do about Teddy and Allison," Megan asked once Owen had made them both tea.

"It's been 24 hours," Owen said.

"I still can't believe you slept with Teddy," Megan said.

"Allison is proof," Owen said, "no we haven't done a test. It's Teddy she wouldn't lie to me about that. Allison makes the same face you do when she's determined to do something. Her facial expressions are all you and mom."

"Her hair is reddish," Megan said, "Owen why didn't you tell me you went to see her?"

"I was embarrassed how I handled it," Owen said, "I said something about Ameilia and that led me to realize that I really loved Teddy. Teddy got pissed, she's never yelled at me like that before. I made a comment about her not letting herself be loved or happy and brought up Henry."

"Who is Henry," Megan asked.

"Teddy's husband," Owen said, "he was a patient she married to get him insurance then she grew to love him. He was good for her and made her happy, grounded her. He had VHL and died on Christina's table. Teddy was crushed when she lost him. She was a bigger mess then when she joined the army the first time. It was after she lost him she came here to heal. That was seven years ago. But that night Teddy and I both said things and got mad. I love her. This last week being together this is right. It's the first time it's ever felt right."

"Tell her Owen," Megan said.

"I'm going slow and letting her set the pace," Owen said, "I would move in tomorrow but Teddy isn't there yet. She needs time to trust me again that way. The night I came it was all too fast. I want a life and our family with her, our kids and the four of us."

"Two kids," Megan asked.

"I'm 40 Teddy is 42," Owen said, "she always said two or three. We have two beautiful kids. Yes I've only known Ali a week but that doesn't matter she won't remember life without me. We will make this work but I have to be here. We're going back and forth across the hall as we need to. We both have keys for both."

"She has your keys," Megan asked.

"She does," Owen said, "she's insisting on baking Leo a cake today."

"I brought him a birthday present," Megan smiled, "Teddy bakes?"

"She's good at it," Owen said.

"Are you going to make this one work," Megan asked, "your track record is crap. Not that I liked Beth or Amelia I don't know how I would have dealt with Christina. Amelia like didn't care and Beth was to dependant."

"Amelia had a brain tumor," Owen said.

"That led to your divorce then running here knocking up Teddy to go home and adopt a baby and play house with your ex wife," Megan said, "why did you never fight for Teddy?"

"Because she's Teddy," Owen said, "there was always something untouchable about her. I could never be good enough for her."

"She wanted you," Megan said, "she loves you always has, always will. She settled to being your best friend because you always chose someone over her. You had a chance after Beth. When you left Beth you should have been with Teddy."

"I was a mess. I nearly choked Christina to death in my sleep because her ceiling fan reminded me of helicopter blades and I had a night terror " Owen admitted. "I couldn't do that to anyone. Teddy had her own pain and trauma she couldn't deal With mine two."

"You were protecting her," Megan said.

"I had to. Who else would protect Teddy," Owen asked, "she has me and Allison. "

"Me," Megan added. "Mom."

"She hasn't talked to mom yet," Owen said.

"When," Megan asked.

"We decided Sunday afternoons," Owen said, "she's seen Allison but not Teddy on Facebook time."

"When do you call mom," Megan asked.

"When Leo gets up from his nap," Owen said, "the four, well five of us will. Why did you run here? Is everything okay with Riggs?"

"We're working on it," Megan said, "we'll always have our challenges. Being captured."

"I'm still sorry about that," Owen said, "all of it."

"I forgive you Eeyore," Megan said, "let it go."

"I'm trying," Owen said.

"I thought you were coming here to be happy," Megan said, "you have all those things you listed when I asked you and one you were too chicken shit to tell me."

"Kids, meaningful work, maybe Teddy," Owen said.

"I think you can work it out," Megan said, "the two of you need to get over yourselves and realize it's always been each other and you were the only idiots who didn't see it."

"Why are you here," Owen asked, "Riggs is really okay with this?"

"Nate isn't thrilled but he understands that I needed to make sure you two are okay," Megan said, "i had to see that you were okay."

"Call, email, facetime," Owen said.

"You can hide things from me with that," Megan quipped.

"Megan," Owen said, "what are you hiding?"

"Nate wants a baby but I'm scared," Megan said.

"So you came to see my kids," Owen asked.

"Yes," Megan said, "and I want to talk to Teddy about it. A military career and having a baby."

"I'm sure you'll get some girl time," Owen said, "I have German class Tuesday and Thursday."

"Then one of those nights," Megan agreed, "is she okay? She didn't seem to want to talk."

"Teddy is used to being there alone. She's spent a lot of time alone," Owen said, "she likes to read and have her music on. She's happy. This week is a lot for both of us to process. I think she just needs time."

"We'll see her later then," Megan asked.

"She said she'd come here after Allison wakes up," Owen said, "she was going to read for a bit then start Leo's cake. She wants to do it for him, she was excited when she came up with the idea."

"What is she to Leo," Megan asked.

"Weddy," Owen said, "I want her to be his mom but that's aways off to have that conversation. She's good with him though."

"Make it work dumb dumb," Megan said.

"I will," Owen said.
