Upon closing the doors on you, Alcina couldn't help but slump against them.
"How could I be so stupid?" she growled. "Now I've gone and lost her for good."
Pulling away from the door, she stormed off.
"Mother's angry with herself," Daniela frowned.
"I don't see why she should be it was Luna or (Y/N)'s fault, not hers." Bela snarled. "If she wasn't so picky about eating human meat, mother wouldn't have to suffer again."
"Should we go see her?" Cassandra asked.
"You think she'd want to see us after her special daughter up and left her?" Bela huffs in response.
"Then bring her back," Daniela shrugged. "Problem solved."
"I'm not going searching for her!" Bela swarmed off.
"Cass, wanna go for a walk?" Daniela asked.
"Why not," she shrugged.
Upon reaching the top of the stairs, Bela sighed heavily before following her sisters out.
"Where do we actually start?" Daniela asked.
Cassandra shrugged. "Go around people's houses?"
"What and get a shotgun to the face?"
"Bullets don't harm us, remember?"
"Yeah, yeah." Daniela waved a hand in front of herself just as Bela caught them up.
"Well, well, look who came back." Cassandra frowned.
"Yeah, well, I can't leave you two to do everything by yourselves."
"You just want the credit," Daniela glared at her.
"Do not!"
"Do too!"
"Shut it!" Cassandra snapped.
Bela and Daniela turned from each other while crossing their arms.
"She can't be too hard to find."
oOo
"I...uh. I don't know how to tell you this, but I'm not what you think I am." You start to explain.
Your mother's brows furrow. "You're my daughter, that's what you are."
"You're not going to like what I have to tell you," you sigh heavily just as the door opens.
"Well that..." he cut off at seeing you sitting at the table with mother. "What are you doing back?"
"I came to tell mother just what I am," you tell him, which results in him quickly grabbing hold of you.
"Let go of me!" you snap, trying to pull free of him without actually hurting him.
"Are you serious?" he glares at you.
"She has to know," you tell him.
"You do that and she'll..."
"She'll what?" you ask.
"Just don't tell her, alright. Not if you want to keep coming back."
"I've already lost my place up at the Castle," you frown as you start to pace.
"Why?" he asks.
You were reluctant to tell him the truth of what went on up there. "We, uh, we had an argument."
"Wow," he frowned. "She must be a great mother for you to fight as soon as you meet."
You hang your head, wondering if it was you that had overreacted, after all humans were indeed as bad as animals. "Oh god!" you sigh.
"Everything alright?"
"No, I completely ruined my first meeting with her."
"Can't you fix it?"
"(Y/N)!"
You both turned at the name.
"Who's that?" Daniel asked as you hurry over to the door.
"My, um, real mothers daughters." You tell him.
"(Y/N)!"
"I'd better go before they tear up the village looking for me," you sigh.
Daniel let's you go, but not before grabbing hold of you to hug you. "Go make things right again."
"Thank you," you smile against him.
Once you part ways again you head for the door.
"Is everything alright?" your mother now stops you.
"Yes, mother. I'll tell you everything one day, I promise."
You hugged her too before heading out.
"There you are!" the three now turned to you.
"Why'd you come searching for me?" you ask them.
"You made Mother angry," Bela snarls at you. "She blames herself."
"I never meant for her to take the blame. Yes, I may have overreacted."
"You need to go apologise to her," Daniela now grabbed your arm to drag you back up.
"I was going to go back without you taking me," you try to tell them.
oOo
Alcina was straight to her room, but not before calling upon the maids to bring her a steady supply of wine. She lit up a cigarette as she slumped down in her chair, taking deep drags from it. Once the maids arrived, she had them set her wine down to then leave her to it.
She poured herself a good amount of the red liquid before downing the first lot in one go to then pour a second glass full. She then slumped back in the chair, cigarette in one hand held over the armrest, glass of wine in the other held over the arm. Eventually she brought it to her lips after spilling a little on the carpet. Downing that she just decided to leave the glass and drain the bottle instead.
"I found my lost lamb," she frowned as she slumped forwards. "Only to lose you again."
The bottle fell from her hand, bouncing lightly on the carpet to roll under her bed.
"What have I done?" she now frowned as she allowed her emotions to take control of her.
After she'd cried as much as she needed, she reached out to grab the next bottle, only a soft knock at the door cut her from that.
"I said to not disturb me!" she yelled through the door.
At this you quickly looked to the three girls. They gave you a stern glare in return, prompting you to stay and take it. The door was pulled open and Alcina was now making her way out through the doorway, forcing you to step back.
"How many times have I..." she cuts herself off as soon as she stands up straight to see you standing there.
"I-I'm so sorry," you quickly apologise.
"I didn't think you'd return," she softens slightly.
"Please forgive me," you tell her as you run over to hug her.
"It was my fault, my darling." She now caresses you softly. "I shouldn't have just assumed you would take to our ways. I can have your diet changed if you would like?"
"No, mother." Your voice is muffled against the fabric of her dress. "I-I want to stay here, with you. I know I'm safe here."
"I will protect you with my life this time. I swear no one will ever take you from me again."
"Thank you," you smile against her.
"And thank you too girls for bringing her back to me."
The three smile, happy to have made their mother happy.
"I'm proud of you all and as (Y/N) has told me she would like to be treated equally. I will not favour one of you. You are all equal."
"Thank you, mother." Daniela smiles as she swarms over to join the hug.
"You all make me proud, you know that don't you?"
Cassandra now went over for a hug.
"Bela?" Alcina offered out her hand to her eldest, who was always won over by her.
She joined in the group hug and didn't regret it.
"Now I have to freshen up, will you show your sister around for me girls?"
They nodded as they pulled away.
"Thank you, darlings."
"Where would you like to go first?" Bela asked.
You shrug.
"The armoury?" Cassandra suggested.
"The library?" Daniela asked, grabbing your wrist to pull you off there first.
Cassandra and Bela just followed on.
"I like it here," Daniela mused as she now let go of you to swirl around in the middle of the room. "I like to spend time here with my thoughts."
A few of her flies detached from her to fly around the room, one landing on your nose, which you picked up on your finger. It turned around to then fly back to Daniela.
"Maybe we could sit and read together sometime, if you want that is?" you ask her.
She turns to smile at you. "I'd like that."
You smile in return as Cassandra takes your hand now.
"Come to the armoury," she tells you.
She pulls you through to the main part of the castle.
"Through here," she takes you hand again as Bela and Daniela follow.
You're taking up and through to a room.
"This is where I like to come," she tells you proudly. "I like to pick out my weapons here for torturing people."
It then occurs to her what she just said as she looks to you.
"I forgot you're not into that," she frowned.
"No, actually." You start to tell her. "When I was living in the village, a man stopped me, wanting to have sex with me. I was saved all thanks to a couple of werewolves. But I am definitely not against people like that getting what they deserve."
"That's disgusting!" Bela glared. "I would have ripped it right off. I hate disgusting men."
You smile at her, at least you had something in common.
"Where would you like to show me?" you now ask.
She shrugs.
"You must have somewhere you like to go?"
"The dungeon or gardens?" she offered.
"Gardens," you smile.
"Then I'll show you to the gardens then."
She didn't take your hand, instead you were left to follow her out.
"This a where I come to be with my thoughts," she told you as one of the hooded moroaică walked over.
Bela held out her hand to her and she allowed her to pet her as if she were a dog. She then walked over to you.
"What are these things?" you ask.
"Failured experiments," Bela tells you, wondering what she can say without you leaving again.
"I'm starting to wonder what I've been born into," you now ponder.
"Mother gave birth to you, you should be grateful!" Cassandra scolded you.
"You have no idea how we would love to be hers, biologically." Daniela also added.
"I'm sorry, it's just I've lived my life outside the castle walls. I had no idea who or what I was, I was brought up by a human family."
"That's no excuse, you've come back to mother now. You want..."
"There you are," Alcina now appeared. "Having fun?"
You turn to greet her with a smile. "Yes, mother. The gir- my sister's have been showing me their favourite places."
If her smile could get any softer, it would have at that very moment.
"I'm so happy to hear you're bonding with one another, my sweetlings."
You looked back at the three, but they just gave you a cold look. Why couldn't they understand that it was going to be hard for you to accept the new changes.
