Chapter 7:

The goddess smiled sadly at Chiron's question:

"I am afraid, my dear brother, that the reason I am here is not a pleasant one. You all must have surely noticed that the magical food has stopped appearing, that is because my dear torch, the one that kept Olympus's fire going, was stolen.
"But Lady Hestia, the sacred fire was the only thing keeping the gods in check and preventing their various grudges from escalating into a full-blown war." Exclaimed the old centaur, surprised.

"Perfect," muttered Clio to herself.

To her surprise, the goddess seemed to hear her, Hestia turned and when she saw her, the divinity gasped:

"You... the bloodline of Hellen!? Oh, my dear brother, what have you done?"

Chiron, Clio and the rest of the campers looked at the goddess in confusion:

"I am sorry, I should probably explain Hellen was one of the first man, a direct son of Prometheus, born during the first years after the Titans were defeated, he was so virtuous and devoted to the gods, that Prometheus himself granted him a blessed bloodline that would spawn great heroes and kings, his most famous descendants include: Cadmus, Theseus, Achilles, Alexander the Great, Marcus Aurelius… and you and your sister. After the fall of the roman empire, the Council of the Gods declared that the gods should not interfere anymore with his bloodline, since their hubris and power-hunger was far too great.

For two thousand years me and the other gods thought the dynasty of Hellen had gone lost, but your presence here clearly denies that.

Explained Hestia to the rest of camp.

"Wait a minute, you are trying to tell me my ancestors go as far back as the beginning of the universe? What would that even mean for me?" Asked Clio, trying to make sense of all off what the goddess had said.

"It means," said Chiron, looking her in the eyes. "That you are destined for this quest."

Anyways, the next chapter of Demigods will go up next week and that Sunday I should update the second chapter of Roses of the Night.
