Sawyer POV
I'm working with the security team when I hear Mrs. Grey's phone alert. I feel bad for searching her phone, but anything is open to investigate in a code blue. The text is a video from an unknown number. I hit play and my eyes widen immediately. This is a recent video of Mrs. Grey being tortured. I punch the wall trying to blow off steam. I need to track this number as soon as possible. I set into the task so that the trap is set the next time the number reconnects to the network. I hear a knock on Taylor's office door and when I look up, I see Gail has entered. "Luke, I wasn't sure what to do with these," she says handing me Ana's ultrasound photos. "Do we tell Mr. Grey, or do we keep it hidden for Ana?" she asks me.
I shake my head for a second before deciding, "I'll tell Taylor and he can decide what to do with them." I slip them into my chest pocket carefully and go back to work at tracking the burner phone.
An hour later Taylor and Mr. Grey come barreling through the door. "What the fuck Sawyer?"
Mr. Grey shouts at me grabbing me by the collar of my shirt. Taylor doesn't look happy with me either,
but he steps up to pull Mr. Grey off me.
"Sir, I'm sorry. We will find her," I look at my feet feeling defeated. How could I let this happen to Ana? I've been trained to protect her at all cost, and I let her down.
"If she dies, I'll fucking kill you Luke! That's my only reason for being and now she's gone because you can't do your fucking job!" Mr. Grey yells before leaving.
Taylor turns to leave, but I call out for him. "Taylor… we need to talk. Shut the door," I say.
"What is it Luke?" Taylor says exasperated.
"I'm not sure what to share with Mr. Grey, but you need to see this," I say pulling Mrs. Greys phone out of my pocket. I hand him the phone and watch as he hits play. He watches the video and turns red. He begins to pace angrily before he yells, "He's fucking burning her? I'll kill that bastard myself! Mr. Grey needs to see this Luke." He stops his pacing and heads towards the door
"There's more," I say quickly before he gets the door open. He spins around and looks at me fear and anger evident on his face.
"What else Luke?" he says almost like he's afraid to ask. I pull the ultrasound envelope from my pocket and hand it to him. He opens it and peeks inside. "She's pregnant?" Taylor questions.
I nod. "She just found out yesterday. Do we tell him Taylor?" I ask unsure of what to do.
"Yes Sawyer. We have to, but he is going to self-destruct," Taylor says. "We will go to him in his office," he finishes leaving the room and heading to Mr. Grey's office. "Sir, we have some information. Take a seat," Taylor starts. Mr. Grey does as he's been asked without any hesitation. "Mr. Grey, this is very hard to show you, but I think you deserve to know," Taylor continues. Mr. Grey nods. I pull up the video and give him Mrs. Grey's phone. As he watches the video unfold his face goes pale. I can hear Mrs. Grey screaming in the video and the images I saw from watching it early pop back in my head unwelcomed.
"He's burning her!?" he shouts looking abruptly up at Taylor. He closes his eyes and when he reopens them, they're blazing with pain and anger. "I'll never forget that pain and she's living it now!" he shouts. "Find him and kill him. Make sure it's painful!" he yells looking at me directly.
"Sir, there is more you need to know," I speak up this time. I pull the envelope back out of my chest pocket and look at Taylor who nods at me to proceed. I step forward and hand it to Mr. Grey. He opens it quickly pulling out the two photos of Baby Grey.
"She's pregnant? My Ana's pregnant!" he shouts confused. He stands and begins pacing the length of his office. After a moment he drops to his knees and begins sobbing. "Taylor, find Ana, please save my Ana. I can't do this without her," he cries.
Ana POV
The burning just won't go away. Even after the cigarette is long gone, the burning stays. I've stopped crying finally, but I can't stop shaking. I need to focus to keep Blip safe, so I decide to try not to panic. The door opens again and in walks Jack. "Ready for round two bitch?" he asks. I say nothing to him deciding to just stare straight ahead. He sets the burner phone back up on the stand and lights another cigarette. He walks closer to me then puts his cigarette again my chest again. This time he burns me five times. I make it through the first two without much noise, but I can't hold on anymore after that and I begin to wail loudly. The darkness begins to consume me and the last thing I hear before it consumes me is Jack's deep laugh.
Sawyer POV
"Taylor, Mr. Grey! The phone is back on! We have an address. 162 Elmlock Avenue. It's a warehouse," I shout.
"Let's go!" Taylor shouts running towards the elevator.
Mr. Grey, Taylor, and I jump in the Audi and take off. I notify the police on the way as well. Time seems to be passing so slowly although it's only been ten minutes. Taylor, Mr. Grey, and I rush inside. Taylor and I draw our weapons as we enter the warehouse. I can hear Mrs. Grey screaming so I run for her with Mr. Grey right behind me. I bust through the door to find Mrs. Grey withering in pain. I run to her and try to untie her while Taylor clears the rest of the area. Taylor runs in to help me and Mr. Grey get Ana out when Jack walks in and begins shooting rounds at us. Taylor returns fire and the shots stop immediately. Jack must be down so I pick Ana up and run with her out to the paramedics with Taylor protecting Mr. Grey. "Where is all this blood from?" Taylor yells. I search myself, but I'm fine. I look at Ana and see it, the blood oozing from her side where a stray bullet has left a hole.
"Sir! Ana's been shot," I shout seeing Taylor glance at Mr. Grey. Mr. Grey jumps in the ambulance as they push her gurney in and take off lights and sirens towards the hospital.
Christian POV
"Hold on Ana! Please baby! I need you!" I beg. It's been forever since my life has been this out of control. The paramedic is packing the gun wound to keep it from bleeding more. "Ana please! Listen to the sound of my voice, hold on Ana. Don't stop fighting!" I sob. Her heartbeat is becoming erratic and I'm beginning to panic. She looks strangely pale. I grab her hand and squeeze it, but it's cold. Memories flash back to me lying beside my mother. It's too dark a place and I begin to shake. The sound of the heart monitor startles me out of my thoughts. Oh Ana! No! Her heart stops and the paramedic starts pounding on her chest.
"Hurry up Mike… we're losing her!" the paramedic shouts.
"How can I help? Tell me what to do," I whisper.
"Grab this AMBU bag and squeeze it every six seconds," she says placing it in my hands. One…Two… Three… Four…. Five…. Six…. Squeeze… One… I repeat to myself over and over again pushing air into her lungs. The ride is over it before I know it. I'm startled to feel the ambulance pull to a stop. The door is ripped open and Ana is rushed out. She is greeted by a trauma team. I run beside her holding her hand not wanting to leave her side. I'm craving to be with her knowing at any second it may be my last second with Ana. I feel like my world is coming to an end and that at any point she will be gone, and I'll have no reason for living.
"Ana come back to me! We need more time!" I sob. They pass through a set of doors when I'm stopped by a nurse.
"Mr. Grey. She is being taken into surgery. You will need to wait in the waiting room. We will let you know as soon as we have an update," the nurse tells me touching my arm gently. I don't even begin to feel the darkness. I'm too worried about Ana, the world could touch me now and I wouldn't care as long as I could have her back.
"Save her and save our baby please," I whisper.
"We'll do our best Mr. Grey. I'll let them know of the pregnancy," she says before heading through the restricted doors. I walk to the waiting room and take a seat. I know I should call my mom or Ray, but I'm just not ready to admit what's happened. I let her down. I let her get hurt. I'll never be the same if I lose her. I put my head in my hands and let the tears engulf me.
"Mr. Grey," Taylor calls out to me entering the room. "What do you need Sir?" he asks trying to ease my pain. He hands me Ana's patient number so we can check the monitors for progress. "Can I call your mother Mr. Grey? Tell me how I can help," he pushes me.
I struggle to find the words, but eventually I shake my head. "I can't deal with anyone until I know what's happening," I say looking up at Taylor. He sits down beside me and remains quiet. I spend time looking from the TV monitor to my watch. An hour passes and still no news of my Ana. I can't sit in this seat any longer, so I get up to pace the floor. The doors open and I look up to quickly to see who is coming. I frown when I see its Sawyer.
"Have we heard anything?" Sawyer speaks calmly. Taylor and I both shake our heads. I look, really look at Sawyer for the first time today. He looks exhausted and defeated. His white button up and suit coat are covered in dark red dried blood. I notice a lighter red spot on his chest. "Sawyer, are you bleeding?" I ask him pointedly.
"I'm fine Sir," he responds quickly. I look at Taylor and give him a stern look.
"Sawyer, this is a direct order. Show us now!" Taylor commands Sawyer. He does as he's asked and unbuttons the top three buttons on his shirt. I see it then, a large bandage at the top of his left peck. It is soaked in blood.
"Sir, I'm really fine. Just worry about Ana," he says glancing from Taylor to me. Taylor takes a step towards him.
"Tell me what happened!" Taylor demands.
"Jack caught me with a knife at the apartment, but I'm fine Sir," he says. He pulls the edge of the bandage down to reveal a long cut that looks deep. My respect for Sawyer grows knowing he's hidden this all day to find Ana.
"It needs stitches," Taylor assesses. "Go get fixed up. I'll let you know when we hear on Mrs. Grey," Taylor finishes. Sawyers nods reluctantly and turns to leave the room. I glance up at the TV again. 21620…. 21620 where did Ana's number go? My heart pickup up speed, anxiety hitting me hard. I wait to see the recovery screen flicker on. When it does, I search again for her number. 21620 still nothing. Damn it! I scream in my head. Just then the door opens and in walks a doctor in scrubs.
"Mr. Grey?" he asks me.
"Yes?" I respond quickly. I don't remember feeling this afraid before. I'd go back to that house, be beaten and burned again, to avoid the anguish killing me now.
"Mrs. Grey has made it through surgery, but she is still in critical condition. We were able to stop the bleeding caused by the bullet and no internal organs were hit. She has a broken nose and three broken ribs, but that will heal with time. She has some second degree burns across most of her chest. They have ointment placed and she's wrapped in a loose dressing. She's lost a lot of blood, but I feel confident that with rest and some IV treatment she should recover. This may be a rocky road however," he finishes.
"The baby?" I whisper silently begging for it to be okay.
"Right now the baby is okay, but Mr. Grey, Mrs. Grey has gone through a lot of trauma. Trauma is one of the biggest contenders in causing a miscarriage. At this point we just have to wait and see how the baby handles the stress it's just been under," he replies carefully.
My knees feel weak and I find that Taylor has grabbed me by my shoulder to keep me steady. My poor Ana. "Can I see her? Please?" I ask quietly.
"Sure Mr. Grey. Follow me and I'll have Nina take you to her room. Remember Mr. Grey… she's still unconscious and she doesn't look well, but she's strong." I nod but say nothing else. Taylor and I follow him out to Nina who smiles and leads us to my Ana's room. Taylor and I enter and my heart sinks lower. She's hooked up to an IV and she horribly bruised on every piece of her body I can see. Her chest is covered in a light dressing and she's got a bandage over the wound on her side. I slide a chair to her bedside and grasp her hand lightly. I want to look her over, to see that she's okay, but I'm afraid to snap with all the anger I've been burying inside. I gently lift the side of her wrap and see her bruised ribs.
"Mr. Grey, would you like some privacy?" Taylor asks politely keeping his eyes glued on me.
"No Taylor. Call Ryan and Prescott and have them come here and stand guard. No one in or out without my approval!" I bark.
"Yes. Mr. Grey," he says reaching for his phone.
"Taylor, please call my mother and tell her. I do not want to talk to her. You explain." I add
"Yes Sir," he agrees.
"And Taylor? Don't leave. I need someone to keep me together for her. I'm scared," I admit. Taylor looks at me shocked.
"She's alive Sir. She's strong. You can do this for her. I'll stay right here," he says reassuringly before walking over to the corner and taking a seat. He pulls out his phone and begins the tasks that I've given him.
