Chapter Six: Kyo Sohma
With lunch time over, many of the teens dragged themselves back in to the school toward their classrooms. Yuki was a head of Tohru, Hana and Arista, leaving Kyo to pick up the rear.
"You know Momiji left school at lunch." Tohru said.
"Yes, he's thrilled now." Hana replied.
Everyone looked to Hana, then shrugged as they continued on inside. But the moment Hana reached the door, she stopped when a wave of familiar electrical waves coursed through the body. It was the same ones she felt while at Shigure. Her eyes narrowed when Kyo bumped into her. Instead of moving, she merely turned around and looked deep into his confused eyes.
"You need to stay here." Hana said firmly.
"What... Why?" Kyo asked.
"You'll see, just stay here," Hana said.
Normally, Kyo would brush off Hanajima's antics, but her eyes were so serious about this. So he gave her a nod and just stood there.
As the other continued on and the door shut behind them, Kyo shivered. It was as if his entire body could stop. Closing his eyes, he took a deep breath then clutched hi chest as it throbbed for only a few moments before fading away.
"Whoa...what was that?" Kyo asked aloud.
"Freedom." A familiar replied.
Kyo scoffed he didn't need to turn around to know who was standing there
"And you 're talking to me why?" Kyo said with anger in his voice.
"I know you don't belive and you have every right to. The darkness is lifting Kyo, I've come to say I 'm sorry. We have shunned you for too long. You have always been a part of Sohma family. I was lost in my twist nightmare to notice," Akito finished.
Kyo wasn't sure what to say. The anger he held for years against Akito vanished with in an instant. Finally, sitting on the steps, he wondered what he should say next. Yet all he could do was look up to Akito, who stood before him.
Seeing the struggle in his eyes, Akito merely looked back at him before sitting down in front of him. The two remained silent as a gentle breeze brushed pass them.
"It can't be that easy?" Kyo asked.
"No, it's not. Meetings are being in session as many warnings are being spread thought out Sohma house. Times are changing for the better I hope." Akito explained.
Kyo nodded the more he listened to Akito, the more he believed him. For his eyes didn't hold any malice or anger, but only sadness instead.
Freedom he was free. He always thought he would be stuck like this forever. He no longer had to pursue Yuki, but he didn't like him, so he would still pester him. As for Tohru, he could finally tell her what he has been wanting to say for a long time. So many possibilities have opened up for him, he thought, and he couldn't wait to try them all.
Akito smiled once Kyo realized what was going on. She watched as a small smile spread across his lips. She was glad to give that to him. She made a mental note to herself to get rid of the cat room when she got home because there was no need for any more.
"Happy?" Akito asked.
Kyo jumped up, scratching his head.
"Yeah, it this is true I mean."
"Try it and see."
"Look um about forgiving you...it's going to take some time."
"As it should, you should head back now you already missed one class you don't want to miss another."
Kyo nodded, standing there for a moment. He looked back at Akito one last time before walking back inside the school.
Raising to her feet, Akito sighed. She knew who she had to talk to next and was mixed about it. Her feet felt like Jell-O and her heart raced. She didn't know how this would go, but she needed to see him.
