Chapter 7

Skye has been in afterlife for only a week but she felt great, she felt better learning more about her powers and finding her mom. She loved spending time with her and every day she was learning more and more about control, and who her mother is, and a family dinner. Even getting to know Lincoln was good; she felt home. She missed her friends though, her other family.

Skye knew everything comes to an end, and it did with Jiaying telling her how her father was going to be sent back. Skye begged to go with him and her mother finally agreed but sent Lincoln after her just to keep watch.

Coulson, Fitz, Mike, and Hunter found Ward with Agent 33 and he agreed to help since he really didn't have a choice. They found out that List was tracking Gordan just like they have been trying to do. Coulson sent the information on how they were tracking him to Tony to see if they can replicate it.

They followed List to the new site where Gordan was; it was an old office building that looked abandoned, but that is when they saw her.

Coulson and Ward took the upper levels looking for Skye and taking out Hydra Agents, as soon as Coulson and Ward took down two more agents looking up they see Skye,

Skye turned down a hall, she had to blink trying to figure out what she is seeing why is Coulson with Ward,

"Coulson" Skye whispered as if in a trance not taking her eyes off Ward slowly going toward Coulson,

Before Skye could get to Coulson Gordan appeared in front of her grabbing her,

"I have to get you out of here" he wrapped his arms around her,

"No no wait" she tried as she felt and heard her dad scream and crash into her and Gordan as well.

"I lost her, damnit" Coulson breathed looking back at Ward, time for a new plan.

"What do you mean you lost her?" Tony yelled on the phone while Coulson waited for the new Shield to find him,

"Gordan came and got her before she could reach me, Tony, don't worry this plan will work," Coulson said hanging up the phone as soon as he heard the doors open it was time.

Jump Forward after the rescue of Lincoln and Mike at the base:

"It is time to honor your deal Coulson," Gonzales said handing him Fury's toolbox, Coulson took it.

"A deal is a deal, all yours. Well until Fury shows up and asks for it back. Spoiler alert" Coulson just smiled at the confused face, his phone rang he showed it to him and Bobbi,

"Sorry gotta take this" He walked off and started to talk to Hill and Tony,

"I am sure Gonzales wasn't happy he wasn't invited to this call"

"I wasn't happy when he blew a hole in my base" Coulson crossed his arms

"Did you find it, and rescue the prisoners?" Tony asked from Maria's side,

"Yes, sending you all the intel I found on Loki's staff, I am guessing Hydra didn't know that was the weapon that killed me, or that is controls minds" Coulson countered,

"In their hands that is catastrophic," Maria said, and Tony just nodded looking at the intel on his tablet already.

"Are you sure you can handle things while we go recover the staff?" Tony asked, he knew Skye was safe but still hasn't seen her.

"We can handle it, and I will let Skye know to call you Tony" Coulson noted how Tony kept looking around his office. Tony just nodded.

"Looks like we have a mission then, and Coulson if you need anything just call," Tony said before hanging up.

After the fight with Inhumans on the carrier and after Ultron was defeated:

"Coulson, what do I owe the pleasure of this call, and if you are about to yell at me for Ultron don't start, we cleaned up that mess already" Tony rubbed his head. He still had so much guilt over it.

"Actually I am calling for Skye" Coulson started and that is when Tony really looked at him,

"Coulson, what happened to your hand? What happened since the last time we talked" Tony asked now worriedly.

"Kind of had to be there, it was cut off, and a lot has happened but I think it would be good for Skye if she got out of here for a couple days or a week, and I know that you let her use your cabin. I am wondering if she can go there again?" Coulson waited as Tony just stared at him,

"Coulson, what happened? Of course, she can come but I need to know what happened, even just a quick version of it." Coulson nodded to him,

"Quick version, Skye found her mom she was leading the Inhumans which is what they call themselves Gonzales found out there was a bunch of them in one place and wanted to index all of them, Skye's mom killed him saying he shot her and started a war between Shield and the Inhumans. Skye's mom tried to turn people against their will killing agents in the process, Skye was fighting against her mother once she found out the truth, her mother tried to kill her, and Skye's father killed her mother before she killed Skye." Tony just opened and closed his mouth not sure what to say,

"I don't think she is handling it well Tony, and we put her father through the mind wipe giving him a new life, a better life, but he won't ever remember her, so she had to watch her family die after searching for them for her entire life. I just think it would be good for her to get away and take the time to grieve" Tony just nodded.

"I will come to get her myself, I want to see your super-secret base anyway and I will bring Cap too. If you want us to start working together you need to share some things and I will make sure Cap gets all the info while he is there and I take Skye away."

"Agreed, sending you the coordinates now. I will see you soon Tony" Coulson hung up and sank into his chair hunched over his desk.

"You did the right thing Phil," May said from the door and he shot up, he didn't realize she was there.

"I know just, I don't want to lose her"

"Skye needs time, and you need time to heal too. It will be good for her" May crossed her arms looking at him with concern.

Tony went down to find Cap and tell him what was going on, Steve packed a couple of things right away not asking too many questions. Steve knew he would get answers when Tony would share them and after everything in Sokovia, he didn't feel like pushing. After about three hours they landed at a secret base Coulson was waiting for them.

"Where is she?" Tony asked looking around the hanger his eyes landed on May,

"I would say it is nice to see you, but you had agents come to my house uninvited" Tony almost growled at May, she didn't say anything.

"Coulson good to see you, sorry about the hand," Steve said gently at least he would try and be civil.

"Thanks Captain, and May will show you to Skye, and Steve if you will come with me I will show you to my office to discuss the new alliance." Coulson started walking and May watched Steve and Coulson go into the base before she turned to Tony,

"I know you think I betrayed her, but I was just trying to keep her safe. I don't know what your connection is to her either, but if you hurt her in any way Tony no one will be able to save you from me" May warned and Tony just smiled at her as a challenge,

"Just take me to her so we can get out of here," he said as May started to walk into the base, she stopped outside of a door before going in she looked back at him her face softened,

"She hasn't been sleeping, eating, or talking. I hope you can help her" May's face fell before opening the door Skye was on the floor back against the wall knees tucked into her chest, Tony felt his heartbreak, she didn't even look up to see who came in, May knelt in front of her brushing Skye's hair out of her face, it was short now, that was the first thing Skye asked May to do cut her hair off to her chin.

"Skye, Tony is here" May tried lifting Skye's chin a little, her eyes were red-rimmed and purple underneath Skye's eyes didn't leave the floor though. Tony stepped forward,

"Skye I want to take you back to the cabin, we can get away for a little bit visit the lake we can even take the Capsicle" Tony tried and Skye finally turned her eyes to Stark before they weld up with tears again the room started shaking before Skye clenched her fists making her arms bruise a little May shook her head, Tony just gestured for May to leave she hesitated but finally got up letting him take her spot.

"Skye look at me please," he said softly before he noticed what was between her legs and chest, the bear from the nursery. She noticed his gaze and said voice rough,

"It helps a little, maybe they would've gotten me one if I wasn't stolen away. Maybe they wouldn't have become monsters" Skye let her tears fall and then looked at him.

"I am tired Tony, I am tired of loss and pain" Tony's heart broke when she put her head on her knees like it took all of her efforts just to say that he turned back to the door May was still standing by.

"I am taking her, tell Cap he can stay and go over the arrangement, or he can come along but I am leaving with her now" May just nodded and handed him a needle he started to object

"You don't want her to bring your jet down mid-flight do you?" he just grabbed it from her walking gently to Skye.

"Skye I need to…"

"I know, it's okay," she said, cutting him off. She welcomed the pain of the needle.

Tony lifted Skye gently letting her head fall on his chest as he carried her out to his jet. He didn't wait for anyone to follow but as soon as he got on the jet he didn't know where to set her that would be comfortable so he set her on a couple of blankets they had on the floor of the jet. He looked back to see May handing Steve a bag and Coulson looking almost broken. Tony just went to the pilot seat.

"Please take care of her," Coulson asked Steve and he nodded before jumping on the plane, setting Skye's bag down softly next to her before joining Tony in the front.

"How is she?" Steve asked quietly but Tony was just staring forward getting the jet in the air already,

"Broken" was all he said.
