HARRY'S P.O.V
The day when we left for Hogwarts was hectic. All of us kids had gotten up late (except for the Royals, they had a weird sleeping schedule) so Mrs. Weasley was screaming at us to get up. It was a good thing Nico managed to get Mrs. Black under control, or it would've been even more hectic. We had a quick breakfast before leaving for King's Cross Station at 10:30, and we barely made it on time.
When we got there, Ron looked for platforms 9 and 10, before running into the barrier that separated them.
"Whoa." The Royals said, amazed.
"Ok, my turn." I said before running into the barrier.
I saw the Hogwarts Express in front of me. Behind me, I saw the Royals and Hermione. The adults came as well, before sending us off.
Ron and Hermione went up front to the Prefects' carriage, and I have to admit, I felt a bit jealous. The Royals had their own compartment, so Ginny and I sat with them. I chatted with them for a while, trying to get more information about them. They told me no more than Hermione told me, so that was a dead end. I was still suspicious of them because nothing seemed to fit. Finally, Ron and Hermione came back.
"Why're you back? I thought you're supposed to be in the Prefect's carriage?" Annabeth asked, confused.
"Malfoy and Parkinson are the Slytherin Prefects, and they are the worst." Hermione said.
"Did you just say Malfoy?" Connor and Travis said together.
"Yeah, why are you asking?" Hermione asked, suspicious.
"As in, Draco Malfoy?" Connor asked, disbelieving.
"Yes, now will you tell me why you're asking?" Hermione said, crossing her arms.
"Oh no, it's nothing. Just sounded like someone we knew." They said unconvincingly.
They kept whispering amongst themselves and sometimes started whispering to Percy, Annabeth, Clarisse, and Katie. All of them had disbelief painted on their faces.
We played a game of Exploding Snap, and all the Royals had extremely quick reflexes, much quicker than mine. The compartment door opened, which I was expecting, but it didn't make the sight of Draco Malfoy and his cronies any more enjoyable.
"What?" I said aggressively before he could open his mouth.
"Manners, Potter, or I'll have to give you a detention," Malfoy smirked. "You see, I, unlike you, have been made a prefect, which means that I, unlike you, have the power to…" He faltered after seeing Connor and Travis, who were gaping at him as if he came out of outer space. His smirk was replaced with a disbelieving expression.
He turned to Crabbe and Goyle. "Both of you get out now."
"But Draco," Crabbe said. "Your father told us to keep an eye on you. You know what tha-"
"I don't care 'bout what my father says!" he roared. "Get out now before I deduct house points."
"You wouldn't dare-" Goyle started, but Malfoy cut him off.
"I would dare, so get out now!" He said.
Crabbe and Goyle went, but I didn't think they went far.
I couldn't believe my ears. Draco Malfoy, the boy who kept bragging about his father, saying that he didn't care about what his father said. Draco Malfoy, who loved the house he was in, threatening to take house points from it. The weirdness in it was enough to make me vertigo.
Connor and Travis however, grinned and said "Dragon!" I didn't know how Malfoy would react, but to my surprise he smiled and spread his hands, like he was offering a hug. They leaped into his hands and hugged him, which made me even more suspicious of them.
Then they punched him and he landed on the floor. What surprised me was that he didn't complain. He just hauled himself off the floor and smiled.
"I'm afraid I'm outta practice, guys. Don't overdo my welcome." He warned. His accent was no longer the British accent I was used to, but now held a hint of an American accent much like the Royals.
"Now, will you explain where in Tartarus you were for 5 years, Draco Lucius Malfoy?" Connor said in a tone I recognized as 'Stern, Protective Mother' tone.
He winced. "Can you please not call me that? I hate the fact that I was named after my step-father." Malfoy said with a bitter look.
I was extremely confused. I guess Malfoy saw my confused expression because he said "I guess I owe y'all an explanation."
"I guess this may come as a surprise to you Gryffindors, but I'm a part of the Olympia Family. I'm a son of Duke Noah, so I'm a half-brother to Connor and Travis." He said nonchalantly.
Once we got out of our shock, Hermione asked, "Is Lucius Malfoy your step-father then?" He nodded.
"My mum had an affair with Duke Noah, and then I was born. She then married my step-father 2 months later, just to make it seem like I was his paternal son. He was a terrible father. When I was five, I ran away from home and boarded a flight to America. I was roaming around for a while before I found CHB. They took me in and I was sorted into Cabin 11, the cabin for Hermes, the god of thieves, messengers, travelers, and a whole bunch of other things. I stayed there for five more years before my step-father came and took me back to England, and here I am." He sounded miserable.
We digested that piece of information.
"Then what about all those years you bullied us? You even called Hermione a mud-blood! Do you expect us to forgive you after that?!" Ron exclaimed. The Royals raised an eyebrow after hearing that, like they didn't think Malfoy would do that.
Malfoy stared at the floor, refusing to make any eye contact. He finally said "I don't expect you to forgive me after that incident, but my step-father was the one who told me to do that. He kept trying to drill 'Purebloods are better than Muggleborns' into me so much, and I had to somehow make him happy, or the summer at home would be horrible. He wouldn't even let me go back to camp for the summer, afraid that I'd never come back and I couldn't prove my allegiance to the "Dark Lord"." he used air quotes with that.
"Ok guys, I've got to go now. Also, I'll have to act all snobby in public so no one gets suspicious. Bye." He said while sliding the compartment door and stepping out.
We were in silence for a while before playing a lot of Exploding Snap. Then we changed into our robes and waited for our arrival to Hogwarts.
NARRATOR'S (MY) P.O.V
Little did the kids know, they were being watched by Crabbe and Goyle while Draco was telling about himself.
"Are we going to report this to Mr. Malfoy?" Crabbe asked.
Goyle nodded. "We have to do it."
