The metal table held four small bottles with white labels on. The labels each had a different number written on them and beside each bottle was a syringe. Jessica's stomach flipped and she felt sick inside.

"What's that?" She asked, trying to sound brave and confident, hoping Kilgrave would't see how scared she was. Jessica was never scared of anything but she was now. A flashback of her when she was 10 years old being stabbed by a needle flashed in her mind and she shook her head to ignore it.

You need to be strong Jessica

She could't let Kilgrave take control, literally and figuratively. She needed to be the one with the upper hand. Jessica already had an idea of what the small bottles were or were going to be. This cure that Kilgrave was dead set on having was likely to be in one of those bottles and Jessica was praying that her antibodies would be strong enough to compel that.

"I've done some testing and come up with these four drugs that may be able to target the antibodies, it's early but we need to test them before we can give a full dose" Dr Louis answered as he pulled on a pair of gloves.

Fuck

Jessica took a shaky breath in, her heat beating fast and pouncing against her chest. She didn't know what was making her scared, the fact that she would have to face the needles or that if one of these cures worked, then she would be trapped under Kilgrave's control.

"How much do you need for a full dose?" Kilgrave asked, his arms crossed over his chest.

"In order to combat all the antibodies and make sure no new ones arise, she'll need at least a litre of the cure, for now I'm only giving 5 ml of each drug to test that it works, we don't want to give the full amount until we are sure that we are happy" Dr Louis explained.

"No, we certainly don't want that, I want my Jessica just how she used to be" Kilgrave smirked and reached up to brush a piece of hair away with his finger. Jessica snatched her head away, moving from his touch, a look of disgust on her face.

"That will never happen, I'll kill you before I let that happen" she said confidently.

"Oh Jessica, I think you need to give that little idea of yours up, I've learned from my mistakes and I can tell you now there is not a single chance for you to even leave this bed, let alone kill me, I'm doing this because I love you, I wish you could see that" Kilgrave grinned.

"I escaped before I can do it again and when I do, you'll be lying in the ground in a pool of our own blood while I cut you up into pieces and you can take that idea of love and shove it up your ass" she fired back and Kilgrave's face set in a hard expression with a scowl on his face. Silence fell between the two as they stared at each other.

"Get on with it" he turned to Dr Louis and ordered him to start the process. He was getting sick of Jessica's mouth. As soon as she was his again, he'd made her tell him she loves him over and over again.

Jessica turned to watch Dr Louis who took a small syringe and piece the bottle upside down, drawing the solution in the needle. He flicked the end of the needle to ensure no air bubbles were inside.

Jessica strained against the cuffs, leaning her head back in the bed and trying to stay calm inside. Her veins were starting to pop through her skin and she took a shaky breath in as Dr Louis stood beside her. He positioned the needle so it was pointing towards her and slowly brought it down, nearing it to her skin. Sweat started to drip from the sides of her head and she swallowed hard, her eyes catching the needle and she panicked.

"Wait" she yelled and Dr Louis stopped midway, just before he could insert the needle.

"Don't listen to her, get on with it" Kilgrave ordered angrily, his eyes hard and menacing.

"Just give me a fucking minute, please" Jessica almost sounded like she was begging. Kilgrave saw the look of fear in her eyes and he soften, holding his hand up to halt Dr Louis. He knew this was painful for her and it was painful for him, seeing her like this. In truth, he didn't want to do this to her, he just wanted them to be together. But he knew she would never come willingly and so this was the only way.

"Stop" he ordered and Dr Louis stopped, blinking as he came back to reality.

Jessica closed her eyes, taking a deep breath inside, her hands shaking.

"Main Street…Birch Street… Higgins Drive… Cobalt Lane" she whispered to herself. Her mind went back to her childhood house. Her happiest memories where there. She was happy… she had her sister Trish who she spoke to about everything. She had her little binoculars, peeping in on everyone. She had her home… and then it all happened.

Jessica opened her eyes, staring forward and sucking in another deep breath.

"Jessica, it's okay, I'm here" Jessica glanced over at Kilgrave who looked at her with a soft expression. His hand rested beside hers and as much as he wanted to take it, he knew if he did he would set her off.

I'm here Jessica, I'll always be here

The memory of her first escape from Kilgrave while under his control flashed back to her. Just after he had ordered her to cut off her ears, he took her into his warm embrace and said those exact words. She stared at Kilgrave, her mouth parted open slightly and her eyes half closed.

"I'll always be here" he whispered and softly took her hand, giving it a soft squeeze. Jessica looked down at her hand in his. For some reason she felt unable to move, she felt relaxed almost. She felt…safe…with Kilgrave. It was no lie… Kilgrave did love Jessica. He loved her with all his heart and if anything was to happen to her, he'd make sure the person responsible for it would pay. He hated seeing her like this, scared and frightened. He wanted to hold her close and kiss her, he wanted to show her he loved her. But Jessica didn't love him back.

Jessica didn't move and as she felt a small prick in her arm, she glanced down and saw Dr Louis injecting her with the solution. Reality turned back to her and she pulled her hand away from Kilgrave, wincing as the needle was pulled out.

"Alright, that's the first one, let's give it a minute and then you can test it" Dr Louis said and he picked up a clipboard with a piece of paper on it.

Jessica felt no different, only a slight sting from where the needle had been inserted and she stared forward.

"Mmm, what should I do first, I think we'll start of with a smile" Kilgrave grinned. He was getting excited that this could be the cure to stopping Jessica fighting him off.

"Fuck you" she gritted.

"How will we know the antibodies have gone?" Kilgrave asked.

"I suggest we do a blood test to have a look and see which one kills more antibodies, ultimately these drugs are just a trail and won't be the finished product, if you want it to last a lifetime then we'll need to build it's strength" Dr Louis answered while writing on his paper.

"Good, the stronger the better, anything to get my Jessica back" he smirked and reached up to graze her cheek but she pulled back.

A minute had passed and Dr Louis nodded to Kilgrave to give a command to see if it had worked. Jessica turned her head away, not wanting to even look at Kilgrave as the fear inside her started to rise back up.

"Jessica look at me" he said and she didn't turn her head.

"Jessica Jones, turn your head to me" he ordered again but no response. Jessica smirked to herself.

"Look's like you're out of luck" she said smugly and Kilgrave glared at the Dr Louis.

"Do the next one, now" he commanded and Dr Louis turned to grab the next bottle.

"Just give it up already, you'll never control me, you'll never be loved" Jessica said to Kilgrave, turning her head to look at him with a pleased look on her face.

"I wouldn't be so sure of that Jessica, the minute I find a cure for those damn antibodies, I will make sure you love me every single day of your life" he said angrily and Jessica could see the anger building inside him.

"What you'll make me say 'I love you' everyday, you think that's true love, no one will ever love you, just like your parents" Jessica spat back and Kilgrave turned to her, his mouth set hard and his eyes wide with shock at what Jessica had just said.

"Give it to me" Kilgrave ordered Dr Louis to hand him the needle and Jessica watched as he handed Kilgrave the syringe with the next solution. Kilgrave grabbed Jessica's arm and held it down, her reflexes telling her to pull back but with the cuffs she was immobile.

"You should watch what you say to me Jessica, I can make this harder for you… is that what you want, mmm" Kilgrave warned and readied the needle, a look of terror in his eyes.

"You fucking psycho, I'll never love you" Jessica replied, still not backing down and Kilgrave shrugged before shoving the needle in her arm and pushing the solution inside. A scream erupted from her and she winced as the needle was ripped out, breaking the skin and blood poured out onto the bed, dripping down her arm.

Jessica tugged at the cuffs, hoping to somehow break them but they stayed put. She groaned as she fought against the restraints, her heart beating faster and the beeping on the monitor increased.

Dr Louis took his paper and wrote down her vital signs, seeing a change in them and he look over her worriedly.

"Jessica look at me" Kilgrave ordered, hoping the cure would work but it didn't.

"Fuck" he screamed and turned to Dr Louis.

"The next one" he commanded. He didn't want to waste anytime here.

"We need to be careful, too much could cause damage".

"How can it cause damage when it's supposed to kill the antibodies, the next one now" Kilgrave shouted and Dr Louis nervously took the next bottle, filling the syringe.

"You better listen to him, you wouldn't want to ruin your chances of controlling me" Jessica was egging Kilgrave on, smirking as he had failed twice to control her.

"Shut up, give it to her" Kilgrave glared at Dr Louis who could do nothing but follow his command. Jessica turned to Dr Louis.

"You can stop him, you need to fight back" she said, hoping it would get through to him and he wouldn't inject her.

"Fucking do it now!" Kilgrave yelled and Dr Louis stabbed Jessica in the arm with the needle, another scream erupting from her. She held back the tears behind her eyes, not wanting to show weakness to Kilgrave.

"Jessica look at me" Kilgrave commanded again.

"You can stop this, you need to fight back against him" Jessica ignored the command and focused on getting Dr Louis to help her.

"The next one, now" he ordered, not wasting time on the previous solution.

Dr Louis did as commanded and filled the next syringe with the final solution. Jessica tried once more to get Dr Louis to stop.

"Remember I can help you, I'll give you more money than he's giving you, I'll help with whatever you need, you have to fight back" she pleaded.

"If you don't do as I tell you, I'll make sure your family pay for it, now give her the drug now!" Kilgrave said slowly this time, more menacingly and Dr Louis immediately followed his command, fearing for his family's safety. Jessica winced as the last injection was given and her arms were sore and achy.

Kilgrave took a deep breath before giving the same command.

"Jessica look at me".

Jessica turned her head, looking over at Kilgrave.
