Blood. Blood was everywhere. Yang was missing an arm, and Jaune was struggling to apply a tourniquet. She just wouldn't stop moving. Though in a way movement was a good thing right?

"Just hold still Yang. I gotta get this on and then we can take care of everything else. Just hold still damn it." Jaune said.

For the third time he attempted to apply the tourniquet. His hands were coated in her blood and she was losing it quickly. Finally getting it strapped on, he twisted the bar connected to it. Yang had cried out and he apologized

"I'm sorry Yang, this is gonna hurt a bit before it gets better" he called to her.

With one final twist, he slipped the bar into the clip and checked her over to assess any other wounds. Noticing the bullet hole in her leg, he took to mending it.

Slapping another tourniquet on it, much more quickly, he started to wrap it only to notice an exit hole.

"Your lucky it missed anything important. A few more inches and it'd have hit an artery." He reassured her

Finishing the wrap he moved her further into cover as rounds flew overhead. Slamming a syringe of morphine into her good leg, he apologized again. Grabbing his rifle, he threw rounds toward the enemy.

"Fucking hell where the fuck is reinforcements!" He screamed.

"Dead" a voice called out. And then a round flew into the backside of Jaune's plate carrier.

Simulation 2 Ended. Status: Failure

The wall Jaune hid behind disappeared, and the world around them de-materialized. The blood on his hands gone, Yang turned into thin air.

"What is the point of these exercises if I just die damn it! Using my friends as the wounded, and not even giving me a briefing! There's no point Corvo!" Jaune yelled.

"Your not meant to win Jaune. These tests aren't designed for an outcome. There's not a win or a loss in these. Just training. Thinking and acting under pressure is a something you need to know." Corvo stated

"I'm a going to be a Huntsman though. Where we train to fight monsters. There's no need for these simulations!" Jaune said

With a grimace, Corvo looked at Jaune and asked grimly

"What do you think I'm training you for? Fighting monsters? Monsters don't always have bone white masks. The worst kind of monsters are the ones who can think. Do you think your sword would save your friend? No. First aid, a keen eye, and quick thinking will."He said coldly

With a shrug Jaune ripped off his plate carrier and threw it on the ground and walked off.

"Jaune, I brought you here to help you. I told you the second you got off that bullhead that this will be difficult. That you would be tested both physically and mentally. If you wanted a cake walk, you should've stayed home with your parents on a comfy couch." Corvo state

"I know damn it, it's just failure after failure. I haven't learned a thing! I'm right where I was in Beacon! The only difference now is it's just me." Jaune screamed kicking his discarded kevlar vest.

"You think all you've learned is failure? Jaune I need you to listen to me carefully. The only way your going to excel, the only way your going to understand what success is? Is to understand what failure is. Enough training for the day. You have a phone call to make." Corvo said

Jaune brightened up a bit. It had been two months since he had talked to his friends, and honestly needed the pick-me-up.

"Jaune! How's your training been going! I hope your keeping up your form, because when you get back I want to see your improvements for myself!"

"Jaune-Jaune I like your hair! Will you help Ren make pancakes when you get back!"

"Ooooooo what's that gun? Lemme see LEMME SEE!"

"It's good to see you Jaune. Don't overdo yourself alright?"

It went on like that for hours on end. Soon enough the sun had gone down, and the conversations had gone more in depth.

"How did he get his hands on that type of technology? Simulation training is still in testing, yet he has a working model?" Asked Wiess

"Who cares about the tech, what are you learning Vomit Boy? I want details" demanded Yang

Jaune thought back to the simulation of Yang he was trying to keep alive not moments ago. Blood everywhere and the hot rounds flying, and decided to go with a bluff " Mostly how to use my new weapons, and integrating it into my combat style. Nothing over the top. Drills, eat, train, eat again, and sleep. Its still pretty intense though. Speaking of which I still have things I need to do tomorrow so I should head to bed. Goodnight guys! Not to long from now I'll be there with you guys!"

Everyone had said their goodnights and goodbyes, and logged off the call. Jaune turned to find Corvo leaning against the entrance way doorframe. "Was coming in to remind you that you don't have training tomorrow. Though I'm sure you knew that. Why lie? Asked Corvo

"What do I tell them? That I've spent every simulation trying to keep them alive, only to have their blood on my hands and a corpse in front of me?" Asked Jaune flatly

"That right there. Two months ago, I know for a fact that the word corpse wouldn't come out of your mouth. That's what I'm doing for you. Soon we'll start focusing on combat training more so than medical training. When I'm done with you, you'll be able to stich a limb back on in the middle of a live combat zone in ten seconds flat." Corvo said with a little pride in his voice " Your not here just to get the answers to swinging a sword. Your here to learn life lessons that will protect AND save lives no matter how wounded they might be."

"If your expecting a thank you, then you've taken one to many blows to the head Corvo." Jaune said with a smile

"You can thank me by keeping you and your friends alive. Now get some sleep. You've got a light workout to do tomorrow. Back talk me, and I'll make it worse." Corvo said and disappeared

Jaune gulped. A light workout? Such things didn't exist to Corvo. Surely it couldn't be to bad though right? Least his friends bought his story. Right?

Beacon Academy

"So, whats you guy's thought on Vomit Boy? Cause I know for a fact he just lied to us." Yang said flopping onto head "It must be really important if he thought he'd sneak that one past us"

Everyone from team RWBY and NPR shared thier thoughts. Some ranged from completely sane to radical ideas. One even included robots taking the place of birds, and that Jaune was their leader. Needless to say Nora got ahold of the coffee again.

"He did look good tho." Ruby said with a sheepish smile "Why didn't we cut his hair like that before?"

"Ruby! Oh I know you did not just say that. I need bleach for my ears!" Weiss cried out trying to suffocate herself with a pillow. It seemed as if Weiss preferred a slow death over thinking of Jaune.

"Platonically of course. He did look exceptionally nicer. Not just his haircut though. He just seemed to stand a little taller." Pyrrha said trying to hide the blush threatening to take over her complexion.

"P-Money. If I were you, scoop him up before anyone else could. Cause when Blakey here saw our dearest Jaune, she saw a midnight snack." Yang said with a wink

"I did not! I'll have you know Yang if it was any of us that saw a snack, then it'd be you and Pyrrha." Blake said defensively while crossing her arms

"Oh he ain't a snack Kitty. He's a whole damn meal" Yang said with a pur.

For the life of him after his phone call he could not stop sneezing! Jaune swore if someone was talking trash, they'd be getting the boot back home!
