Tohru looked at the clock. It was five which means Kyo would be home soon. She started to gather ingredients for dinner when she heard their sons voice crying.

"Mommmmmaaaa!" Hajime waddled up, wiping tears from is eyes.

"Hajime? What's wrong?" She asked in a worried voice. "Did you have a bad dream?" He nodded. "Can mommy help?" He nodded again. She knelt down and opened her arms to him which he walked in to. She picked up her son and held him close. Hajime laid his head down on her shoulder and snuggled into her chest. "Do you want to tell me about it?" She whispered in a soothing voice.

"I saw a scary monster and you and daddy were gone. I couldn't find you anywhere..." He sniffled.

"That does sound scary! I know it's hard now but when you're a bigger it won't be so bad." She said quietly. "And mommy and daddy will always be there to help fight monsters for you, okay?" Hajime sniffled and nodded again.

Kyo walked into the house and stopped to watch the scene in front of him. His wife was comforting their toddler son. He must of had a nightmare. She was holding him protectively to her chest, one under his legs and the other rubbing his back in a soothing motion while he clutched the fabric of her dress.

"Everything alright?" Kyo asked as he walked in.

"Oh Welcome home, Kyo!" Tohru greeted. "Yes everything is fine. Hajime just had a bad dream during his nap today. See? Daddy's home!"

"A bad dream, huh? Well you know what's GOOD about bad dreams?" He asked his son, who gave a curious look and shook his head. "They're just dreams and you always wake up. Nightmares never last." He finished a soft smile as he lightly rubbed his sons hair.

"Yep! Exactly!" Tohru replied with a happy smile. "How was the dojo?" She asked.

"Not bad. The little brats were MOSTLY well behaved today." He joked. Tohru giggled at him.

"I like to imagine you at that age, practicing your kicks and punches! I'm sure you were so cute!" Kyo blushed.

"I told you before! I was never that cutesy!" He complained in mock irritation. She just giggled at him. "Anyway, what was his nightmare about?"

"There was a monster and I couldn't find you..." Hajime mumbled against his mothers neck. Kyo hesitated for a second.

"What... Kind of monster?" He finally asked slowly. Tohru gave him a worried look and walked closer to him.

"I don't remember but he had red eyes and scary teeth." Hajime replied. Tohru saw the look in her husbands eyes so she she held their son out in front of him. Kyo gladly took Hajime into his arms.

"Monsters aren't real. They can't hurt you. Beside, your daddy is really strong so you don't have to worry!" Tohru told him in her typical sweet voice. Kyo blushed then smiled down at her.

"Yeah. You never have to worry about monsters when I'm around Hajime. I promise." He told his son in a quiet voice while Tohru smiled lovingly at them.
