Hey everyone! Sorry for the wait! Hope you enjoy!

Despite the tense and fearful atmosphere of previous events, Carly felt her heart begin to pound crazily. Butterflies spiraled in her stomach and she had to force back a slight squeal of joy upon seeing the huntsman in front of her.

Qrow Branwen.

The thing was, Carly had developed a major crush on the man after watching the show for a certain amount of time. She admired his confidence and rebellious attitude, and loved how he valued family. It also didn't help that he was physically attractive too.

And now said man was standing only a few feet away from her, turning to face Tyrian, twirling his sword as he did so. Qrow's face, appearing soft and smiling for Ruby, instantly changed to one of annoyance and intimidating for the crazy Faunus.

Sam lowered her bow and arrow to lean close to Carly and whisper softly, "You gonna be able to focus with him around?"

Sam knew of Carly's affection toward the elite huntsman, and seemed somewhat concerned on how her friend would react upon seeing him.

Carly couldn't take her eyes off the man as she shook her head while only unintelligible sounds came out of her mouth. She could barely speak, and the man wasn't even looking or talking to her!

This was going to be just…great.

However, before Sam could reply to Carly's stumbling, Tyrian spoke, raising his arms into the air, "As I live and breathe! Qrow Branwen!"

The crazy man stopped speaking to bow before continuing, in an eerily chipper tone, "A true Huntsman has entered the fray!"

Qrow's face changed to a look of disturbed confusion as he gave Ruby a questioning look over his shoulder. The red hooded girl was using Crescent Rose to get to her feet, panting from the attacks Tyrian previously used on her.

Once she saw the look Qrow was giving her, the young girl responded nonchalantly, "I don't know. This guy's weird."

'You have NO idea,' Carly thought, a slight grimace forming on her face as she watched Qrow turn back to glare at Tyrian.

"Look, pal, I'm not sure who you are, but you need to leave my niece alone," Qrow threatened, the grip on his weapon tightening.

While Carly felt shivers go down her spine at the tone, more powerful in real life than through an internet screen, Tyrian seemed to find the whole thing amusing. He merely giggled and offered, "Why friend, my name is Tyrian. And I am afraid that is not possible," the scorpion Faunus gestured with a wave of his hand, "my assignment from Her Grace was to retrieve this young girl."

Upon referencing Salem, Tyrian's voice rose in pitch, his voice depicting his obsession for the woman, "So, that is what I must to," he looked to the sky and touched his chest as if he revering a god, "One does not upset the Queen."

'That woman ain't no queen, she's a witch, you moron,' Carly wanted to snarl, but bit her tongue. She couldn't give away anything or who knows what would happen, especially with Qrow around now.

"Queen?" Ruby questioned.

"Salem," Qrow whispered, a dark look falling over his face.

There was a pause as Ruby looked to her uncle in utter confusion before saying, "Who?"

This seemed to annoy Tyrian somehow, as he scoffed before he spoke with an irritated tone, putting his hands on his hips, "I think we've had enough talk now, don't you?"

He practically kneeled to the ground as his scorpion tail curled up, ready to strike, and Carly felt her insides go queasy. She knew how this fight would end.

Unless it changed because of her and Sam's involvement.

"You took the words right out of—" Qrow's near growl was interrupted by Tyrian laughing manically and charging towards the other huntsman.

Both men moved so fast that Carly was having trouble keeping up with their attacks on one another. But from what she could see, it did look like similar to how an actual bird and scorpion would battle one another.

Their blows to one another were strong enough that gusts of air flew from them. Both men appeared to be in a strange dance with one another as they twirled and spun through the air at one another. After a particular spin attack from Qrow that Tyrian blocked, the force from it was strong enough that a building beyond them lost a section of their roof as it fell to the ground.

"Carly, you might want to close that," Sam whispered, reaching over and pushing her friends jaw up.

Carly blushed, unaware her jaw had dropped from the whole scene playing out before her. However, her embarrassment was short lived as Tyrian began to shoot rapid fire at Qrow. The man easily blocked them with this blade, even as Tyrian ran circles around him.

Carly took this moment to search for her weapon. While she knew she couldn't be of help at the moment, it would be best to find it ASAP in case anything didn't go according to the original story.

Sam seemed to notice her looking around and tapped her shoulder to point at Carly's hobby horse hammer. Carly noticed that it was nearby the building where Qrow and Tyrian would crash into and knew she had to act fast if she didn't want to get stuck in the middle of the fight.

The brunette touched her shorter haired friends shoulder and said, "Be right back, stay with the others."

Sam called her name as Carly started to run to her weapon. So far it looked as if she had enough distance between her and the two fighting huntsman that there would be no problem.

That was until, as she was reaching the building where her hammer was, Qrow's freaking sword spiraled in front of her face. It landed mere inches from her face to the point that she could see her reflection in it.

Carly turned her head slightly to see Tyrian laugh crazily, his tail curling upward as he straightened himself from bending over backwards. His laugh was short lived as a bullet whizzed past his face, his black bangs fluttered from the breeze.

Carly didn't need to look to know that it was Ruby standing atop a tall building, trying to shoot at Tyrian from a distance with the sniper part of her weapon.

As Tyrian giggled softly, deflecting the bullet's with his tail, Qrow's gaze landed on her. He obviously was looking for his weapon and since she was practically next to it, their eyes met.

Panicking, Carly glanced at Tyrian before putting her arms up in a boxing motion and motioned punches, indicating that was how Qrow should attack next.

Qrow frowned suspiciously at her before looking at his hand, cracking his knuckles into a fist. He shrugged before throwing a punch at Tyrian. Carly felt a smile form on her face at Tyrians' cry of pain and Qrow's barrage of punches and heel kick to Tyrian.

However, as the crazy Faunus went flying to the side from Qrow's hits, Carly realized she should probably grab her weapon and move out of the way. But when she bent down and grabbed her hammer, she straightened up only to see Qrow had reached her and was reaching to grab his sword. As he caught her gaze, unintentionally it seemed, she managed to squeak out…

"Hi…"

Qrow just frowned at her before a giggle behind him had him practically snarling before Carly felt herself get kicked. As she flew through the air and rolled on the ground, she slid to a stop and just laid there for a moment, staring at the sky.

"That could have gone better…" she whispered to herself.

A strong hand pulled Carly up and she looked to see that Sam was giving her a concerned look. She pulled her to side to avoid any more attacks and asked, "You okay? Your aura's shattered, so you could get seriously hurt!"

The scolding tone in Sam's voice had Carly saying, with an embarrassed look, "Sorry! Don't worry, I'm fine!"

A breeze brushing by prevented their conversation from continuing. Both females looked to see Ruby rushing toward the building that Qrow and Tyrian had supposedly fallen into. Moments later, the shapeshifter flew out of the hole in the side of the building. He threw his sword even as he rolled and bounced on the ground, landing on the hilt of his blade as it struck the ground.

Qrow stood up, balancing on his blade as his deep red aura crackled before shattering into the air. Only a few seconds later, Tyrian lunged out the same building, his violet aura shattering as he moved. As the two men charged at one another, Ruby jumped in, swiping at Tyrian. Her attack was strong enough that the Faunus flew backward.

"Ruby!" Jaune yelled, attempting to rush into the fight as well, only to be stopped by Ren holding his arm out in prevention.

Carly understood the desire to jump in and aid in her companions, but this was not their fight at the moment. Sam's grip on her arm relented as she prepared an arrow, though she did not aim it.

"Do you wish to be taken?" Tyrian exclaimed in disbelief, looking at Ruby.

"No! But I won't stand by and watch someone get hurt!" Ruby yelled back before charging forward, Qrow only a step behind her.

Despite being outnumbered, Tyrian was able to hold his own, his attacks still coming so fast that Carly was having a hard time keeping track of what he was doing.

"Ruby! What did I say?! Get back!" Qrow yelled to his niece as he blocked a strike from Tyrian onto the younger huntress.

"This is my fight, too!" the red hooded girl shouted in defiance, running around the two men to try and attack from the side as she did so. Tyrian had no trouble dodging her attack while continuing to fend off Qrow as the older man exclaimed, "No, it's not that. It's—"

Ruby interrupted her uncle with an angry yell, leaping at Tyrian. Her target used the pressure from his attack on Qrow to leap toward the young girl, flipping in the air and using both feet to send Ruby flying back to the broken building. As she regained her balance, a wooden beam fell from the top of the building.

As the red hooded girl looked up in worry, Qrow quickly lunged toward Ruby, slicing the beam in half. As the wood fell on either side of the young girl, the two shared a soft smile.

Carly, her brain recognizing what events would happen next, tried to rush to Tyrian to distract him from attacking Qrow. But she was too slow as Tyrian's scorpion tail slashed Qrow, creating a decent sized slash to him.

As Tyrian giggled evilly while everyone stared in shock, Ruby quickly used wrapped her scythe over Tyrians tail and used a gunshot to provide enough force that the blade part of her weapon went through the scorpion tail.

Tyrian screamed in pain, his tail tip falling to the ground. He scrambled away from the two, his tail twitching madly. When he looked up, his face was one of hatred and he growled, "You bitch!"

But he did not even get a step closer to the two as Carly and Sam immediately got in front of him. Carly had her hammer raised and Sam had an arrow pointed directly at his throat. Behind them, the rest of team RNJR surrounded Ruby and Qrow protectively.

Seeing that he would not be able to fend off all the people in front of him with the state he was in, Tyrian muttered sorrowfully to himself, "She'll forgive you…" before running off quickly.

Not a second passed before Carly heard a clanging sound and she turned with a regretful look to see Qrow kneeling on the ground. Ruby cried his name in worry, asking if he was okay as she rushed to his side.

"I'll be fine. He just grazed me…" Qrow responded, taking a look at the wound, blood already smeared on his hand.

'Damnit, I could have stopped this. Why didn't I do something?!' Carly yelled internally. She knew that it wasn't just a small cut Qrow had received. And judging by the look Sam was making, she wasn't too happy with how the situation panned out either.

As everyone gathered around Qrow, the younger members began barraging Qrow with questions. When the older man didn't respond, still catching his breath, Ruby asked in a pleading, yet firm voice, "Uncle Qrow, what's going on?"

Carly and Sam gave each other a knowing glance before the shapeshifter looked up at Ruby and answered, "What's your favorite fairy tale?"

'Here we go…'

Authors note: I had a hard time with this chapter as I couldn't figure out how to incorporate Carly or Sam without them interfering too much. It was also hard as this chapter focus's on following the episode more than incorporating the characters. It felt very awkward at times. But I'm hoping this won't be the case all the time, and I promise that the next chapter will have more character interactions and humor. Comments and thoughts are welcome!

Speaking of, thank you everyone for the comments. I love seeing them and they help encourage me to continue writing! I hope you all remain entertained!
