CHAPTER 6 - UNEXPECTED SITUATION AND HARROWING JOURNEY
OOOOO
…LAST TIME…
And this is almost literally…the calm before the storm-as the saying goes.
OOOOO
ANOTHER NEW DAY AS THE SNOWSTORM BLIZZARD ABRUPTLY ENDED THE LAST NIGHT IN THE DEEP DARK WOODS OF THE CANADIAN FORESTS…BUT IS IT A GOOD DAY?
It was the next day already that Helen is a little surprised that time flew by a bit too fast when she noticed it and she glanced at Bellamy and held back her amused grin upon seeing him looking a bit tired from his whole late-night watch shift from last night before and she figured that this is his first time in pulling an all-nighter.
She sympathized with him a little as she used to experience the same on also staying up the entire nights back then whenever she volunteered for guard shift. Helen decided to give him one of her special remedies, that is a nice cup of coffee, mixed in with a little bit of 'magic' for a pick-me-up and get him fully alert and straight back to fully awake for the new day.
It didn't take her long to make it as she got back to her seat with two mugs held in her hands and handed one over to Bellamy when he shook his head and jolt his body to keep himself awake and not embarrass himself in front of Helen if he fell over and face-planted comically. He accepted the mug of coffee with a thankful expression on his face and Helen smiled back at him, but when Bellamy took one sip of the hot coffee, he tasted something different in it, from the other kinds of coffees in both hot and cold kinds he had already tasted and drank before.
The other mug is for Helen herself and she took one sip before she answered in reply to the confusion she noticed on Bellamy's face when he tasted his coffee drink. "I made the coffee specially mixed with my kind of magical remedy that will help you stay awake for much longer, but I didn't put in too much so that you might get insomnia."
"Um…you don't mean…?" Bellamy asked, a little uncertain whether he should be worried or disturbed that she just put magic into his drink he took a sip from and Helen quickly reassured him before he might start thinking of something far worse in his mind.
"Don't worry, it's safe to drink for mundane-I mean, normal humans to drink. Magical people also have friends and family among the normal ones and already tested the kinds of enchantments and magic potions upon giving them to humans once they're deemed safe. The ones who dared to poison or kill other normal humans on purpose by their own evil gains and means, we catch them and send them straight to our kind of magical jail for it."
But Helen didn't provide or share the real truth to Bellamy that the four Magicals originally came from their other former world and that there are no more Magical people here in this one or any magical person that ever existed, but only in fairy tales and myths, except the still existing and similar but also different kinds of Magical creatures and beings in this other world. Even Teddy is growing and turning out to be Magical too, whose budding magical powers are starting to spark up and appear when the four adult Magicals noticed this before and were planning to teach him in the future on harnessing and honing it once they emerged. So, there's no way for Bellamy to confirm the magic safety measures and such since the four agreed to make the other Mundane people and beings believe their fake story that their kind were all killed and went extinct from the Monster Apocalypse and these four are the only remaining ones left of their magical race.
Upon telling the four Mundane people about this with their false story but mostly truthful origins when they told them the truth about Magic and what it can do in amazing good ways but also horrifying bad ones, they were all stunned shocked, and in awe over this but also pitied them for losing their families, loved ones, and even their own friends and people they have known or seen, as the magical race was also 'decimated' from the Monster Apocalypse.
Bellamy bravely took another mouthful sip from his hot 'enchanted' coffee and he nearly shivered when the magic mixed inside it instantly coursed inside his body and felt the alertness surging in his veins, erasing the fatigue and exhaustion he had felt since last night. Then he felt a comforting warmth spreading inside him, almost like he's being covered by a really soft cozy blanket both inside and out.
Helen smiled upon seeing the contented expression on Bellamy's face when he felt the energizing magic kicking inside him from her special drink. And just when she was about to tell Bellamy something or maybe Bellamy was going to talk to her over another change of topic, both turned to look at Draco upon sensing him stirring and their thoughts became right when he woke up with a groan after the spell wore off upon knocking him out last night.
Draco gingerly rubbed the back of his head like he's suffering some sort of concussion or headache he somehow got from something. But then it didn't take long for him to instantly remember what happened before he got hexed unconscious and swiftly sat up from where he was lying down straight on the couch, and it turned out to be a bad idea because his headache went a little worse upon the abrupt whiplash he's feeling from his sudden movements.
"Took you long enough to wake up there, mate," Helen said dryly in her fluent British accent as she spoke to Draco.
Draco turned to her and Bellamy is a little surprised that she spoke in that British-like voice when she talks and finds it cute to hear her speak in her natural accent after figuring it out instantly that she was still learning on speaking like a true American upon remembering that her family was all originally from the UK before the four of them moved to America back then before.
"Right, Helen-we need to get out there and deal with those branches that fell outside before-!" Draco suddenly cried out anxiously, trying to sit up despite the dizziness and the still headache he's feeling but Helen stopped him, cutting Draco off like a sharp blade.
"We're not going anywhere until you explain your sudden odd behavior and actions from last night, Draco Malfoy-Black!" Helen told him in a firm yet harsh tone that made Draco instantly tense and freeze under her stern voice.
Draco sighed, knowing that she must be upset from last night about what he did and acted, scaring her and the others, and forcing Neville to suddenly curse him so he told her the truth while still looking worried and panicked over something he's really concerned about. "Helen…the branches that got struck by lightning and then crash down-they fell right into the magical barrier!"
With that said, Helen's eyes widened in understanding and horror upon the implication of Draco's statement and she reacted without thinking, quickly getting off her seat, putting her hot coffee mug aside, and started to march towards the tent's hole to exit the magical tent, just as both Draco and Bellamy protested in unison by her sudden actions and tried to chase after her from behind to stop her from going out.
"What the-!? Helen, stop! Bloody hell, don't forget to put your coat on! It's still bloody freezing out there!" Draco squawked indignantly.
Bellamy cried out and tried to grab for her to stop, "Helen, wait! Don't go out there! It's cold! Think of your babies!"
Helen ignored Bellamy and dodged his hands reaching out to stop her but she heeded Draco's advice and magically summoned her hot and warmly enchanted cloak puts it on right before she stepped outside at a fast brisk pace to get to the edge of the magical barrier that protects them from the monsters lurking out there in the forests, they're in the middle of, as well as keep them safe from the intense still-snowing cold weather elements of the winter season.
Draco also magically summoned his coat and Bellamy's too before they followed after her and they managed to catch up when Helen is now looking forlornly down and worriedly upset even more when she saw that Draco's words were correct. The lightning-struck branches that fell from last night from the raging snowstorm, have fallen right across and into the circling lining edge of the magical barrier, disrupting its shielding energy and making the enchanted secure covering break down from Mother Nature's unexpected interference of some kind.
Bellamy watched with concern when Helen reached out her hand like she's testing the barrier and he saw that the magic shield faintly shimmers in a weakening dimming glow like it's showing that the protective magic barrier is truly going to break down to pieces, if they don't deal with the fallen branches soon.
Draco and Bellamy instantly stopped Helen from bending over upon wanting to help pick up and throw away the tree branches, but they are too heavy and big for a pregnant woman like her to do such a job and it's obvious that it should be done by strong men such as the two of them already there. Unfortunately, when the two men went to work on removing the branches and Helen watched out for them, taking look-out, they underestimated the thick heaviness of the branches as Bellamy and Draco grunted, groaned, and strained with all their strength and might and a little bit of energized magic cast by Draco to help with the heavy-lifting, but the branching they're attempting to lift and tried to pick up was much heavier than they thought it would be and the two men only managed to carry it up about a few inches before they're forced to drop it down back to the earth.
"Argh! Merlin's staff and bloody damn it all!" Draco cursed as he and Bellamy panted tiredly from their weak lifting efforts even though both these two men are strong in their own mundane and magic being. "Sometimes, I hate Mother Nature and everything connected to her themselves! Confound it all!"
Bellamy would have found this humorous over the kind of cussing and cursing Draco makes in his British kind of way but he stopped himself from chuckling out loud when he saw that Helen is looking really anxious and worried as she's seeing that their magical shield is slowly breaking down and going to shatter to pieces like fragile glass. Bellamy just gave out a sigh and inquired at Draco, "Can't you boost us up with magic so that we can lift these?"
Draco's head snapped up from looking down on the ground and glared at Bellamy like he's an idiot. "Have you lost your mind? If I try to do that, giving the both of us that magic 'boost' as you call it, it will be like overdosing with super magic steroids, for crying out loud! Do you want to die already or something?!"
"Draco! Don't be so rude. Bellamy didn't know! He's normal, remember?" Helen scolded him when she heard her brother/friend snapping at him like that.
Draco winced and then sighed as he apologized sincerely to Bellamy and he nodded, then Draco brushed invisible dust or some snow flecks that are on his coat before he was going to turn and get back to the tent as he said, "I'll go get Neville and your friend Murphy to help out in lifting this."
"That's not going to work!" Bellamy instantly shouts when Draco turned around and stopped him from returning to the tent and Draco turned back for him and Helen to look at him with confused looks as he explained. "Even with the four of us guys lifting these branches, they're still too heavy and big to do it. And I don't think it's a good idea to have the other girls help out because they'll end up breaking their hands and almost their whole bodies into lifting these heavy branches."
Draco gave Bellamy a skeptical look like he's asking silently over how he knows such things and Bellamy simply replied, "Before the monster apocalypse, I worked part-time in construction as a heavy-duty lifter or something of that kind. I know weights very well, and it really won't work."
"We still have to try…for their safety and sake, including all of us!" Draco hissed at him lowly, his eyes glancing pointedly at the pregnant woman with them as Helen turned back to being look-out and watching for the magic shield if it's going to break down fast or not, which they're all hoping in their heads that it won't but in their guts, they already knew better that it was inevitable maybe.
When Bellamy saw Helen subconsciously rub her slightly big tummy like she's soothing her babies moving inside her as if they're sensing her upset emotions or concerning negativity and she's comforting them with soft whispers despite that she's not aware of doing it, it instantly gave him resolve and made him suddenly determined to do this very important and necessary task.
"Okay, okay…go get the guys, I'll stay and watch with-," Bellamy started telling Draco.
"OH NO!"
Both Draco and Bellamy instantly turned right around at Helen upon hearing her sudden distressed cry, thinking that monsters have finally come out of hiding from lurking in the deep dark forests of Canada, but it turns out that's not the reason why she cried out and reacted like that for Draco followed where Helen is staring at with a very upset and almost terrified look on her face and then he felt the same way as she does when he saw the half of the circle-like dome of the invisible magical shield breaking down just like shattered glass pieces on top above their very heads, up high in the skies.
"No…no-no-no-no-NO!" Draco murmured softly before he nearly shouted out loud on the last word when the enchanted shield covering is breaking down right in front of his horrified eyes as he saw this. It's like Draco is praying to the Gods or any higher deity up there to keep the magic barrier up but it looks like Fate itself might have had a grudge or something against them when the top part of the magical shield rain down its broken shattered pieces above them like snow and then they faded away into nothing before the slow floating pieces reached Helen, Draco, and Bellamy down below.
There was a shocked horrified silence…then…
"Please tell me this doesn't mean…what I think it means," Bellamy asked, sounding really nervous and internally hoping that what he just saw the same as the other two are not what he thinks this really means upon seeing it but his gut told him otherwise in a foreboding ominous way and felt a sinking bad feeling beating within his very heart.
"The barrier is down…it's gone…it can't be fixed or repaired back to the way it was," Helen said gravely when she stated this and turned slowly to look at Bellamy straight in the eyes to show him that she's trying to maintain a brave face at him but he can easily tell upon seeing underneath the mask of her strong-looking face, there is deep terror and fear in her eyes. "We're no longer safe here…and all the monsters in the woods will soon sense that."
Another silence darkening between them, almost thickening the atmosphere to the point of grimness and horror-filled suffocation but Bellamy broke it when he spoke in a strong yet still courageous voice, his whole body, and countenance showing that he's been ready and always been brave to face these kinds of unexpected situations.
"Then we need to leave before that very time happens," Bellamy said in a strong tone that Helen couldn't help but come closer and lean on him for comfort and he let her because he knew that she needs it very deeply, despite that it's obvious she's still trying to keep up a brave face as the main leader of her group that she is. However, it looks like Bellamy's bold and strong speech soothed Helen's inner fears and she trusted him, even more, when he said it. It seems that Draco started to feel the same upon finally deciding to trust the Mundane man completely for he had been distrustful to him and his friends since they were accepted and taken into their group back at the days before.
It didn't take long for the three of them to hurry hastily to return back inside the magical tent and inform the others of the unexpected new grave situation about the fallen broken barrier and the sudden goal into swiftly packing up all their stuff and preparing themselves for another long journey to get out of the monstrous woods and survive it through all the way, no matter how long it takes wherever or whenever it goes.
OOOOO
INSIDE THE MAGICAL TENT-BUT THE TIME HAS BECOME INEVITABLE RIGHT NOW…AS IT IS THE VERY TIME TO LEAVE
"Luna, are you done packing up all the medicine and potions and other necessary medical stuff!?" Draco demanded as he packed up the arsenal of many various weapons they had in storage and put them all neatly inside the magically expanded backpack.
Luna sighed like she's tired of Draco double-checking everything and asking over their survival gear and everything but she replied to him anyway, "Yes, Draco. I got everything of all the medical kinds and anything necessary to it. Why don't you prepare us the kind of weapons we need to use and wield against the monsters for our hike out of the forests, alright?"
"Now, now. Don't sound like that, Luna. You know that I was just checking. And I already prepared the weapons we need to use. But no guns this time-we'll be walking and trekking a long way so I believe we can't use the firearms because their loud firing noises might instantly bring the monsters hiding or lurking in the woods out there, straight to us," Draco said as he seemed to instantly sense Luna's annoyance at his anxious attitude right now.
Luna already understands how Draco is feeling right now and then ever since he, Helen, and Bellamy broke the news of the fallen magical barrier but she wanted him out of her sight before she might surrender to the urge surging inside her into wanting to kill her blond brother right in front of her if he dares to keep this up.
So she told him in a soft but pointed tone. "Then why don't you check on the others and then give them the weapons that we need to hold on to for our long trip? That way you can show and maybe teach them on using them since there are added four of us that needed them."
Draco didn't like the thought of giving the four Mundane survivors the necessary kind of weapons he had laid out for their group for their traveling on foot as they are enchanted magically-modified ones and teaching them on how to use them but he knew he had no other choice since his other three friends are busy with their own tasks and have not finished them yet. So he swiftly went out, relieving Luna of his presence, bringing the weapons for the four of them to use and he could easily tell what kind that they'll be good at wielding it for.
It didn't take long for him to find them after he first checked on his other two friends and saw that they're still working on packing up and preparing themselves for the goal of their long travel upon leaving and then going to and through the deep dark 'monstrous' woods out there soon.
Draco saw Helen trying to coax all her four little children to drink the delicious nutritious cereal milk that will fill their tummies up for a whole day which she had personally made for them, but she added her 'special' remedy into magically drugging them to sleep for exactly a whole day, so that they won't stir and then let out frightening loud noises when the children realize that their adult 'mother' and guardians have taken them outside and going through the monster-infested forests upon leaving their supposedly safe home of the magical tent, that they had been staying there for almost a whole year then since their last scary traveling before through the monster apocalypse. Draco was relieved to see that she managed to get them all to drink and she managed to encourage her last and most stubborn child, that is Teddy, as he slightly refused to finish his slightly big cup of magically-drugged milk as he can somehow sense that there's something wrong and he felt like wanting to help even though he's only a little kid still at seven years old. But it didn't take long for Helen to coax and encourage her small son Teddy to consume all the milk she made for him and she managed to convince her little boy that nothing is wrong and trying to show him like there's nothing bad going to happen to them. Once he finished it all, Teddy went blinking like he's instantly exhausted and he yawned cutely like he's really tired all of a sudden.
Helen catches him in her arms and then gently placed him inside a very soft and comfortable magically-enchanted secured baby carrier that will strap on the chest front of the body instead of the back like a backpack, to keep the child safe in its protected little body carriage. Draco left after seeing that Helen had finished with Teddy and she went to double-check on her three already sleeping-drugged babies as they are comfortably wrapped up differently from their older sibling Teddy, all looking cute and snug in their human child-sized life-like tightly wrapped Burritos or something of the similar sort of wrapped-up bundles of joy and so.
Draco left to check on Neville next as he already knows that the last parts of Helen's task she needs to finish up, is packing up all the child's necessities and their things and then enchanting more of their carrier bundling with magic to secure them nice and tight once each assigned adult carer holds them and then spelled and charmed the carriers with double-enforced magic to keep them warm and comfortable and enshroud them to silence for their long trip and ensuring that their drugged sleep and encasing charmed silence won't bring any monsters upon them and prevent them from stirring awake until they reach their destination out of the woods or they remove the charms off when the time becomes necessary or the situation calls for it or so.
As Draco reached Neville's place, he saw that he was finished packing up their 'Monster' magic survival guide books and the other books in their novel collection, and magically shrinking them all and putting them into the securely magicked trunk designed like a backpack too to be easily carried as it's enchanted to be light and weightless, and easy to maneuver around during traveling. Neville had already finished with all their clothes, their personal belongings, supplies of food and water, and all the other necessary stuff upon packing them into the human-sized trunk, and once Draco had seen this upon checking in on him, he left to find the four others and finish his last task upon giving them weapons.
Right before he had found them finally, just when the moment Draco started sensing the surroundings of the magical tent about to change as Luna and Neville will be the ones to take down and wrap up their safe home to a traveling pack and such, Draco frowned upon seeing them eager and excited when they finished packing up their supplies, personal belongings and other stuff that they also had on them. But this time, he hated that besides giving them magical weapons-the others had magicked their backpacks and travel bags earlier already with the same charms and similar enchantments upon magically expanding them like they're carrying their own 'black holes' of bags, as well as double-enforcing them to be secured and shielded from weather elements and forceful impacts and encounters such as being snatched and ripped apart by monsters or grabbed and stolen by hostile survivors, aiming to steal their supplies if they noticed, and finally, they were charmed to be super light and completely weight-less so that they won't have any trouble carrying them while traveling under whatever heavy loads and back-rending weights as they trek to and through.
It didn't take long for one of them to notice Draco standing by the edge of the doorway with a fierce frown on his face like he's very displeased with their joyful merriness and excitement and then she asked aloud for the others to finally notice his sudden presence.
"Hey, Ice Prince. So what brings your royal grace here? Come to check if we have been snooping around, stole some stuff, and sneaking them into our bags?" Clarke taunted at him in the same usual word banter she's done ever since she first started it with Draco.
Draco scowled at her more fiercely, instantly not liking the nickname the Mundane long-haired blonde woman just called him but he visibly took a deep breath to keep himself calm and composed, and then he said coolly at them. "Much as I love to do such a thing-to somehow catch you in the act and expose you all as thieves that you truly are…but no. I only came here to check and see if you all got your things packed and I'm actually here…to provide you with enchanted and magically modified weapons of your own so that you can protect and defend yourselves in the group during our long travel out there in the dark monster-infested forests."
Instantly, much to Draco's deep displeasure, the four survivor's eyes lit up with interest and excitement more upon hearing him announce this, but to his surprise, they behaved themselves so that they'll get on Draco's good side for now, as they are eager to see and have what kind of magical weapons they'll get each of their own.
Draco stared at them silently like he's trying to look deeper and study their ulterior motives when the four went quiet but just as he slowly reached his hands into his specially-made magicked coat, that can be able to holster and wield many weapons inside it-to two certain people's envy upon noticing this-he stopped slightly sudden and then glared at the four new members for good measure like he's giving them a fair but deadly warning with his dagger-glaring eyes as he spoke dangerously, "But I warn you…misuse these weapons for anything other than to provide safe protection and security in our group-I will not hesitate to take them back magically or turn them into itty-bitty little toys meant for babies…understood?"
When the four kept behaving themselves and stood still as they dimly nodded at Draco, the blond wizard nodded back silently like he's satisfied with his warning and intimidating them and he summoned the four kinds of weapons out for each of them to use and their eyes widened even more with amazed and impressed looks on their faces upon seeing them modified and improved by their magical ways.
Draco handed a compound-type intricate-carved wooden longbow and black quiver filled with both sharp long and short arrows right at Octavia Blake and swiftly told her what they do. "The quiver is secured with double-enforced magic to shield it from weather elements and keep sticking on you once you wrap around the strap upon you and you don't need to worry about reloading arrows, because every arrow you shoot from your bow, the quiver will magically create and replace the arrows you take out in both the long and short sizes. If you're wondering how that's possible, the quiver is enchanted to just summon any kind of stray material, such as wood, metal, or rock, takes bits and pieces from your surroundings wherever you go and magically energizes into creating and making them and then refilling your quiver like a mini-factory carried at your own back. The long and short arrows are also charmed to be light and fast and even when you miss a target or trying to aim at a blind spot or from a faraway distance, they are also enchanted to fire from your mind zeroing in on the target, but make sure you're aiming precisely and focusing straight on the target, so you don't want your eyes to stray on something or someone else from the intended one unless you meant to hurt or kill them by doing that."
Octavia heeded Draco's pointed warnings over that statement and she took the bow and arrow weaponry and gear from him just as he continued explaining about the other one. "The compound wooden long-bow is magically modified into two shape-changing features. Octavia, hold the longbow by its grip in a horizontal pose."
She followed his instructions exactly as he told her so, and the longbow suddenly transformed magically into an arm-strapped slightly big but lightweight-enchanted crossbow and she gasped in wide-eyed wonder and amazement as she stared at her arm-strapped bow weapon. Draco nearly smirked wide at her reaction but kept his face still blank as he said, "As you can see, on how you hold the grip of your bow will transform to that crossbow into the longbow by horizontal and vertical positions. So be mindful of what kind of bow you'll be using your weapon for. You'll end up getting your arm strung up if you keep flipping it around."
Octavia obeyed what Draco had told her as she turned the grip back to vertical position and it transformed back into the wooden compound longbow in her hands and smiled gratefully at Draco, thanking him verbally. Draco just nodded and he turned to his next one that is Clarke as she kept quiet for once and went on behaving herself well so that she'll get her special magic weapon.
Draco pulls out and hands over a stick-like baton and Clarke tried to stop her dubiousness and disappointment from showing her face but he instantly instructed her. "Hold the baton like how you're holding a dagger or a knife-bladed weapon."
Clarke did what Draco told her to do and the baton swiftly transformed into a sharp magic dagger before her eyes and she looked at it appreciatively and she was about to ask what it does, Draco continued on ordering her. "Next, hold it like you're holding a sword or machete."
Clarke did it again and then the dagger transformed into a wicked machete blade weapon before her, almost bigger and longer than a normal machete but slightly slender and lithe than a katana or scimitar sword. Draco finished in some sort of grand showing gesture. "Lastly, hold the grip with both hands in a horizontal position."
After she did that, the machete sword-blade weapon she held with both her hands on the grip, lengthened very long into a double-bladed spear but there's an added feature on it when Clarke noticed one of the blade-end seems to spark like static electricity or something. It turns out her suspicion was right when Draco warned her. "Be careful how you wield that double-blade spear, Ms. Griffin. One of the blade-ends emit a powerful electric taser upon contact or stabbing, so please be mindful on how and where you're swinging or stabbing that melee weapon at and on, alright?"
"Which blade-end exactly has the electric taser on?" Clarke asked, sounding delighted and happy with the kind of weapon she has.
Draco just looked at her blankly and said simply. "Figure it out on your own, Little Princess."
Draco turned away to hide the triumphant grin and ignore the sudden protest from Clarke to pay back the nickname she had given him and he can sense Octavia snorting with amusement at her friend's nickname making the other one looks at her with betrayal. He turned his attention next to the two last males as they look at him expectantly but Bellamy Blake just looked calm and John Murphy looked more eager and excited, so Draco decided to go for John Murphy to get it done and over with before he might badger annoyingly at him.
Draco just simply pulled out a magically-modified big triple-barreled hunting-type shotgun and Murphy stared at it wide-eyed and grinning widely like he really appreciates the kind of weapon he'll be wielding when the blond wizard showed it and handed it over to him, along with a bullet box filled with specially made magic bullets as he told and explained what they are for. "Each group of bullets is color-coded and specifically made to shoot at different kinds of monsters, along with added featured bullets of a flare-gun kind in case you need to call out for help or send out a location signal for us to find you, as well as a loud noise decoy bullets for distracting monsters away from you as most of them are attracted by noise and movement, and rarely rely on sight. Now there are written instructions on what each of the other color-coded bullets is for the shotgun so remember them well and memorize them both in heart and mind, so that you'll-OY!"
Draco suddenly grabbed the shotgun by its barrel part and lifted it up to point high in the air as he snapped at Murphy indignantly when he was testing the feeling and aiming it at somewhere in front of his sight. "What the bloody hell do you think you're doing?! Don't just point it at something or someone like that!"
Murphy scoffed at him and said, "Relax, man. It's not loaded. I was just trying to get used to the feeling of wielding the gun, you know?"
Draco just glared and snapped at him more, "Just be very mindful and aware of what or who you're pointing it at-or else, I won't hesitate to magically turn that shotgun into a mini toy gun for you!"
With that said, Draco lets go of the barrel and turn on Bellamy last before he might explode in annoyed anger or something. He took one more deep breath for good measure to calm himself down and then nodded dimly at the last man and pulled out the kind of weapon he's using, which is another gun-a handgun to be precise, with an attached scope and sniping laser-tracker on top of it. Bellamy tried to stop his disappointment from showing on his slightly upset face but then Draco instructed, ordering him to do what he said, "Mr. Blake, hold your gun up and look through the scope like how you look through a sniper rifle gun."
Bellamy was confused but he did what Draco told him to do and suddenly, the small gun held by both his hands instantly transformed magically into a modified enchanted sniper rifle gun with the scope growing longer and bigger for him to use and see through it. Bellamy was happy at his firearm weapon but Draco wasn't done as he handed over another box filled with enchanted magic bullets. "Similar to the magic-charmed arrows like your sister Octavia Blake has and the kind of bullets your friend John Murphy has gotten, these bullets are magically charmed to do the same concepts on zeroing in your target with your mind, even by looking at blind spots, missing the shot, or shooting at a faraway distance. They're also color-coded for each kind of monsters they are made to hurt or kill for, so read and remember the written instructions inside the bullet box well about them, as well as memorize them by heart and mind on their usage."
Draco thought he was done giving the four Mundane survivors their weapons but he had to grab hold and lift up the gun's barrel up high in the air again when Bellamy tried to do the the same thing as his friend Murphy did to get used to and test the feeling on wielding the rifle firearm gun. He said in a slightly dangerous warning tone of voice at him, "I forgot to mention-and also tell it to your friend as well-that these guns do not have 'Safety' features, so you need to be really careful and be aware of what or who you're pointing those guns at!"
Bellamy would have retorted back at the blond man that he knows how to handle guns and tell him that he used to go to a firing range as one of his unique hobbies but then a familiar voice cleared her throat soundly to get their attention and they turned and saw Helen standing by the doorway, looking relaxed yet also amused at Draco when he finished handing their new group members their weapons and tried to intimidate them on using them well with his glaring.
"Are you done with your tasks, Draco? Or were you about to incite another silly fight with our new friends?" Helen said with a pointed but knowing look.
Draco swiftly lets go of the barrel that he held Bellamy's new rifle gun and shook his head in a negative as he walked right up to her side. "No, I'm done and finished. How about you? Are the children securely bundled up and you all prepared and ready to go?"
Helen nodded and said, "We just need to work on our line-up after we take down the tent and then walk-on through the woods and getting out of them, also-"
Draco immediately finished the last sentence for her like he knows what she's going to say. "-We need to work on who's holding a whose kid, hm? Already made up my mind over that. I will be the one carrying Teddy, Neville will take Faith, Luna offers to hold and care for Andy, and last and finally, you will be carrying Annie."
But unexpectedly Bellamy butts into their conversation and offered, "How about I hold little Annie while Helen stays beside me on the line-up?"
"Hey now! Don't you-!" Draco was about to snap at him for interfering but much to his shock and sudden protest, Helen smiled and thanked him, instantly accepting his volunteering kind act. "Helen!"
Helen just glared at him, rendering the blond silent under her pointed gaze before she gave a stern warning to him. "Draco…I know that you're worried but don't push it. Bellamy is being nice so I'm trusting him to hold Annie for me and I don't mind walking beside him when we leave here and travel walking in a straight line-up. Stop being so overprotective. I'll be fine."
Draco would have protested more but it looks like Helen had already made up her mind and decided to stick by Bellamy's side, also noticing his triumphant hidden grin by the look on his face so he huffed and then left to help Luna and Helen take down the tent.
Then Bellamy's sister and his two friends nodded at him that they're all packed up and ready and will go outside the tent to wait for them to come out, Octavia instantly knowing with a slyness that her older brother and Helen needed to be alone together and clued Clarke and Murphy in on it, which they are a little surprised and amused upon finding out Bellamy's romantic interest with Helen. So they immediately left while trying to be nonchalant and discreet so that Helen would notice and catch on why they're acting this way and then Bellamy turned to her and asked over something he's suddenly worried about for her.
"But-are you sure that you're going to be okay…?" Bellamy had to ask, looking at Helen concerned with eyes sweeping over her delicate pregnant condition.
Helen sighed like she had known that this was coming and was a little exasperated and slightly annoyed over it. "Don't worry about me. I'm only in the middle of my second trimester. The reason I look big because I ate more than two people to feed my little baby inside me."
"Still…are you sure you'll be able to move and travel far and such a long one? What if…?"
Helen quickly stopped him from protesting more in an abrupt tone that sounds almost like a cutting sword as she snapped at him in a firm and strong voice. "Mister Bellamy Blake…if you do not stop hovering over me like an overprotective fussy mother-hen because of my state of condition-I will not hesitate to curse you into eternal silence, understood?"
Bellamy instantly shuts up and meekly obeys her as he knew that she will do just that if he tries to speak up against this more. He was suddenly glad that the others left because he won't like the teasing from his sister and two friends if they noticed how he's almost completely whipped over Helen, his sudden new love interest.
OOOOO
TIME TO GO…TO GET AWAY FROM THIS UNEXPECTED SITUATION, AND THAT FORCES THEM TO LEAVE INTO ANOTHER HARROWING JOURNEY
After taking down the magical tent and then packing it up into Neville's magic trunk that he'll be carrying without problems, they all lined up in a straight one and ensured that each of them is close to one another with each of their chosen paired partner by their sides as well as carefully and gently holding the kids from each of their respective guardians.
The very first in line and will be the front-line into watching over and looking out for any threats or dangers ahead and both of them have very good and sharp eyesight that can see from far away, are Helen Black and Bellamy Blake, with the little girl Annie still sleeping in his arms. Helen also has a weapon to protect and defend herself and the two of them already discussed that they'll take turns holding Annie despite that Bellamy doesn't mind holding the little girl for the entire trip but Helen convinced him to let her hold her child and take turns too so that he won't get tired and that he needs his hands to be free to wield his weapon if danger comes. She can't be the one doing it because of her obvious pregnancy so Bellamy had to reluctantly relent in defeat at her firm statement and agreed on it, which satisfied Helen for his response.
The second next in the line-up behind Helen and Bellamy is Octavia Blake and Neville Black, whose child he's holding is Faith, and Octavia smiled and gently wipes away the drool leaking from her slightly open lips in her cutely dreaming face as she sleep within the hold of her guardian. Neville trusted Octavia to also watch and be on the lookout for any dangers and be the one wielding the weapon to fight and protect as he's still not used with the weaponry to fight back and defend himself and protect his group, which he's doing his best to learn to do so.
The third in the line-up are Murphy and Luna, as the blond girl hummed a little lullaby to Andy she's carrying in her embracing arms, nice and tight, despite Andy's drugged sleeping. Murphy was glad that he got the chance to impress 'his girl' to defending and protecting their group if ever that monsters will come out and attack them and he had memorized the paper instructions on his gun's bullets already by heart and was loaded and ready to shoot when the time comes. Luna seemed to have known this as she hid a knowing grin upon lowering her face a little down in the pretense to continue humming the lullaby for Andy so that Murphy wouldn't notice the rising blush showing on her pale fair face and let him know that she also has a romantic interest in him.
The last and final two in the group's line-up, much to these particular couple's slight displeasure and most of the amusement of the others, are Draco Black and Clarke Griffin. These two decided to agree on a temporary truce upon exchanging tense silent looks at one another and ignoring how each side of their friends are looking at them with amusement still, and then both of them nodded and turned away from looking at one another but both are on guard and on the alert to protect and defend their group at the back of the line and watching their backs if something happens and monsters or any other enemies lurking in wait and in hiding might come out and attack them from behind. Draco was the one who decided that he'll be holding and carrying Teddy for the entire trip and he can't trust Clarke to look after and care for him because he still doesn't trust her, even for one bit or moment-not even when desperate times call for desperate measures if it happens or not.
Draco is ready to fight back and protect his charge and his group when that something happens or not. Clarke looked like she's thinking on how to win the blond man's trust because she knew that he and his little charge will be in danger if something happens to them, so during their walk on their long travel, she will be thinking deeply about how to do that while multi-tasking into looking out for any hidden dangers or monstrous threats that might come out and attack them.
After they were done packing up, getting ready, and then lining themselves up together and banding their group closely, they managed to leave and get away from their former safe place and area about fifty meters or so before the magic barrier they left behind had finally broken down entirely and was completely gone, and they thought they heard monster growls or snarls coming from their former home like they had finally gotten their chance and were getting ready in position to pounce. But it looks like their patience had all been in vain once the monsters that were hiding over there, will soon realize that their prey was gone and has long left away from this place, getting far away and distant from them.
But they knew very well that it won't take long for the monsters to try to sniff out and catch up on them when they can, even though the four Magicals had enchanted and magically shielded their whole group invisible by sight, smell, and sound, but they're not taking any chances as they walk on and trek as fast as they can to get out of the thick Canadian forests they're trying to hike and travel through upon leaving it entirely.
Hopefully, this sudden unexpected situation of another harrowing journey they're in for a long scary travel is not very dire or grave enough for them to be worried about as they walk on and trek silently, traveling through the deep and soon to be darkening thick forests as nighttime had come, and all of them were determined to get out before monsters come out at night and lurk about or hiding in wait until they pounce on their tense anxious prey that's walking in a straight line and banding together closely to not be separated.
Helen prayed that their on-foot traveling won't take so long to get out of these terrifying monster-infested forests as she tried to calm herself down and rub her hands on her pregnant belly underneath her thick winter coat like she's comforting herself with the feel of her babies moving light or vigorously inside her. And she didn't notice that Bellamy was walking and moving closer by her side to give her more comfort and reassure her that he'll protect her and their whole group as he held the sleeping little girl Annie within the embracing hold of one strong arm as he freed the other one to boldly reach out and wrap it around Helen's waist as added reassurance and more comfort. Helen relaxed upon sensing the touch and realizing the gesture and she glanced at him, giving a thankful appreciative look for his gesture, almost making Bellamy blush a little under her gaze.
As they walked on, they almost stopped in their tracks or tense frozen in their walking steps upon hearing many kinds of eerie frightening sounds, ranging from an eerie silence with shadows seeming to reach out at them with claw-like shaped-hands for grabbing their prey or something, up to a few night crickets chirping sounding soft and then-unknown creatures responding back with slightly loud croaking or moaning calls and chattering clicks and growls, that nearly got some of them to speed up their pace to get away from those scary noises and put distance away from them before they might come out and then spot them.
They all prayed that their traveling won't be very long upon hiking through the deep dark forests, but they are prepared to fight when that foreboding ominous time comes.
