Loki had been gone half of the day, which has had Corine a nervous wreck. Not to mention the frequent visits by healers and her assigned midwife. Her nerves had been shot, and she just wanted to be alone. She was alone within their quarters. Loki had quickly swung the doors open, "Corine? Corine?!" The woman would be found outside on the terrace, leaning over the balcony. Loki, practically sprinting out, "There you are. You had me flustered for a brief moment." Corine quickly turned on her heel; a brow perked, "Is everything alright? You look so pale!" Her hands are gently cupping his cheeks while azure hues looked into his, pleadingly. "Thor and I, we are setting off for the Dark World. You are to remain here. It's not safe for a woman carrying a child to come along on such a suicide mission." Corine shook her head, "Wha-What? Are you leaving me here? Why not send me back to Earth then? Until you return?" Loki, his gaze averting down to the ground for just for a moment, before returning to hers, which were now filled with tears. She was unsure of whether it was emotions that were out of sorts or if it was out of fear of being there alone, in an entirely new realm.
Corine quickly removed her hands before attempting to walk away. Heavy hands grab ahold of both of her wrists, drawing her back in, "I don't recall dismissing you," he hissed. One hand quickly freed itself from his grip before striking his cheek. "I don't remember you owning me either! How dare you speak to me in such a manner. You are telling me to remain here, with absolutely no one! Then demanding I stay where I am because I haven't been dismissed! I am not one of your kind! I don't answer you! I am only carrying your child! Have a little bit of compassion for what I am also going through, not just you! I feel your pain for your loss! But it gives you no right to attempt to control me!" His fingers grazed over the stinging flesh of his cheek. His hues gazing down to her, "I don't wish for you to go. I cannot bear the thought of another attack upon you." Digits delicately grazing over the exposed scar, "I won't let it happen again." Her hands, they quickly grasped his, placing them upon her growing womb. Still small, barely showing anything. "We can't lose you. I fear that you may never return," Corine whispered. His hands, felt all over her womb in pure amazement. His hues widened down at his hands, before averting them back up to hers. His hands glowing with green light, "I can feel it... the heart beat." He chuckled nervously, before cupping her cheeks with both hands, "I will return for the both of you, I promise you that, Corine. I give you, my word." A kiss placed onto her forehead, her deep blue eyes shutting. Her hands clasped around his wrists that still cupped her cheeks, "When do you leave?" The sound of doors swinging open, caused the both of them to jump. Thor quickly sprints to the doorway, "Brother!" Loki groaned, "I believe I leave now." With that, Loki's lips pressed to Corine's, drawing her in for a heated, slow kiss. "I'll return..." Loki quickly released his hands, before fleeing alongside of his brother. Corridor after corridor, they finally made their way to a large ship. Malekith's crashed ship at that. After making their way inside, Thor looks at the controls and starts pressing some button, looking unsure of what he's doing, "I thought you said you knew how to fly this thing," Loki questioned, a brow rising. "I said, "how hard could it be?" Meanwhile, the Asgardian guards rush towards the ship with Volstagg standing guard in front of it. "Well, whatever you're doing, brother, I suggest you do it faster." Thor growled, "Shut up, Loki." Outside the ship Volstagg continues to battle with the Asgardian guards; back in the ship Thor continues to frantically press every button to start the ship. Loki shook his head, "You must have missed something." Thor, turning on his heal to face his brother, "No, I didn't, I'm pressing every button on this thing!" Thor now smacking every button causing Loki to cringe, "No, don't hit it, just press it gently." I am pressing it gently. It's not..."suddenly the ship comes to life, Thor laughs loudly. Off they went, little did they know, fate would not be taken kindly upon one of them.
The news of the prince's death, fell quickly throughout the palace. After receiving the news of Loki's passing, Odin had given the grave news to the expecting mother himself. Corine grieved for days. Days turned to weeks. She refused to leave their chambers. Refusing to nourish herself, while in her grieving state, caused more damage to her physical wellbeing. Worse than what she could ever imagine. A month had passed by slowly. Odin, had requested a private audience with Corine. She hadn't had to face him in quite some time now. She had been planning to return back to Midgard alongside Thor that evening. She slowly made her way into the throne room, where there stood nearly a dozen guards in a straight line, six on each side, a few feet apart from each other. Odin, sat upon his throne, scepter in hand. "Leave us," He called out. While guards marching off, Odin stood tall, "Come here, my child." Hesitantly she slowly made her way up the stairs towards the throne. The train of her off shoulder down, slowly trailing behind. Heavy hands took hers in, giving them a slight squeeze, "I have become aware of yet another tragic loss for you, my dear. A proud father, Loki would have become. And for you, dear child, a glorious mother." A tear fell from her eyes, rolling slowly down her cheek. The loss of her child, due to overbearing stress, and emotions. She had yet to accept this, let alone the prince's death. The Allfather let out a soft sigh, "My dear, you are a young woman. You have plenty of child-bearing years." Corine nodded slowly, her eyes averting to the marble floors. "It has also come to my attention you are to return to Midgard," Odin said. He withdrew his hands from hers, a few steps taken backwards. Once again, she nodded, eyes averted back up to his. "I have a proposition for you, child. I have two options. Go, alongside Thor. Return to your home, your career, with nothing but memories of this, that you'll soon forget. Or..." his words trailed off. Her brow perking, "Or?" A green glow appeared as outlines, as his body began to transform, into another's form. The raven hair. The emerald hues. The cunning, yet charming smile. It was Loki. Her eyes widened, a soft gasp escaped, from her lips. "Or...stay here. In Asgard. With someone, who loves you deeply, with all of his heart." Her body trembled, her heart racing at a quick pace. Arms flinging around his neck, while his snaked around her waist. His face buried into auburn curls, whispering into her ear, "I told you, I would return to you. I don't ever intend to break my promises to you, Cor." Shes sobbing into the crook of his neck, her tears running down his neck. After a few moments, they broke away from the embrace only slightly, "I should have gone with you. If I had, I wouldn't have lost..." Loki pulled her back into a tight embrace, placing a hand onto the back of her head. A kiss planted onto the top of her head, "Darling, it wasn't meant to be, this time. There are plenty of other chances for us to have a child." her eyes avert back up to his, tear stained cheeks, while tears still ran down them, "What?" Loki broke away slightly, before going down on one knee. "Loki! No no, Lokie please don't. I just finalized the divorce. I can't remarry, not yet." Loki chuckled, shaking his head, "Corine. Please. I am not proposing. You would know if I was, believe me. I am merely... offering you my undying fidelity. My everlasting love for you. Giving you my word, that I never intend to leave your side again. No matter what is at stake. I choose to sacrifice the world for you, while in my past, I would have sacrificed someone for the world. Do you accept my love, and loyalty, Cor?" Her eyes, practically beaming down at him, nodding. A hint of a smile appeared upon his face, leaping up to lift her up. Giving her a spin, he placed a kiss onto her lips. A heated, slow kiss. This was only the beginning of their story. Their chaotic, love story.
