AN: Thanks to all those who've reached this far in the story. For the first time we follow a character who isn't Daniel and we flesh out the side cast a little. There'll be more of this in the future so look forward to it! Don't forget to review, it helps me get better!

Today, for the first time in a while Emily, attended one of Gloria's League meetings with her. The room was ginormous as you'd expect of the most wealthy organization in the world, with multiple decorations, trophies, pokeballs, and the like. If only Emily was in the right mindset she'd marvel at the amount of time and money it would take to make such a room and that too, a building filled with rooms with this level of detail.

But no, her mind was still reeling from her embarrassment from the day before.

"Oh no, Daniel probably thinks I'm weird! I've ruined everything!"

She'd decided on coming to try to get her mind off it but she couldn't concentrate on the meeting in front of her. She mentally slapped herself and began to pay attention to Scott, who has in the middle of presenting his new idea.

"So I suggest we make a worldwide tournament with only the best of the best!" He concludes, but he doesn't receive the same amount of enthusiasm he was showing. He looks at the crowd in front of him. Norman, Wattson, and Juan were the only gym leaders there but they were by far the least interesting people in the room. After all, why look at them when there were five champions in the room.

"So Scott if we are to fund this tournament of yours how do you propose to decide who gets to fight?" Asked an anxious Steven Stone, one of the two champions of Hoenn. He was always getting roped into Scott's various ideas, he was even forced into being a champion! All he wanted to do was find shiny stones, but Scott somehow convinced him to become the champion with Wallace.

"That's easy Steven my boy! Top Gym Leaders, Elite 4 members, and Champions are all allowed! For the sake of fairness, we'll seed them into round 3 or 4, we don't want other trainers to be kicked out too soon."

"And that's the problem, Scott, if you let normal trainers into this, not only does it increase the number of weak opponents but even increases the number of rounds substantially. And if we don't let normal trainers in, the viewership decreases by a landslide will it will do so anyway if the tournament takes too long." Cynthia the Sinnoh champion very much wanted to participate in this tournament but she calmly pointed out the flaws, knowing that once Scott decides on something he'll make sure it happens. She was getting excited.

"We'll leave the non-League trainers to vote, vote by members of their respective home region Gym Leaders, Elite 4 and Champion. And we'll only select trainers with at least 16 badges. How about that?" Scott had planned for every single flaw that anyone could point out. Time to seal the deal.

"So, Gloria, did you like my idea?" Scott asks, knowing quite well that if it was anything battle-related Gloria would give her consent to it without another thought.

"I heard 'tournament', I want in." Says Gloria confidently with her eyes shining in anticipation.

"Gloria don't neglect your other champion duties for this, I won't let you." Nags Emily, but she knew it was a lost cause.

"Well, now there's no stopping Gloria. At least this meeting isn't like the last one." Thinks Emily remembering the last meeting where Gloria just ran around asking the people for battles.

"But Scott I have a condition!" Gloria's sudden declaration got the whole room's attention.

"Yes, Gloria go on." Says Scott unsure if this was good or bad.

"There was this kid I met at the beach last month, I want him to be in the tourney or at least give me an exhibition match with him! He only had two badges at the time but that's bound to have changed by now! Um, what was his name? What was his name! *Gasps* Emilyyyyy I forgot his naaaammeeee." Gloria panics with her hands on her head and turns to her friend.

"Even here I have to be reminded of my embarrassment," Emily had come to forget her last interaction with him, and it had been working quite well so far but then Gloria had wrecked her peace.

"That would be Daniel, Gloria. He was in the city yesterday." Emily tried not to sound annoyed but she knew it didn't work.

At the mention of Daniel Scott had a hearty laugh. The kid he met in Petalburg had certainly been making waves recently. First he steamrolls Norman and now the Galar champion wants a go at him.

"Don't worry Gloria he got his fifth badge last week, he should be on his way to Fortree for his sixth." Norman surprisingly speaks up.

"He cornered me quite handily when we fought, though it happened purely due to my overconfidence he saw that and exploited it."

Norman had changed his fighting style from a purely reactionary one to a bit more proactive one since his defeat. He now constantly changed up the pokemon he used, never again would he be cornered like that ever again.

"So you mean I missed him yesterday!" Gloria was horrified! This was the second time that she missed him. Once when she was hungover in a hotel room in Lavaridge and yesterday when she was stuck in a meeting.

"Well, as Norman said he's making progress, and if we set the timing of the tournament to about a year from now Daniel and similar trainers should have plenty of time to get on your level," Scott smirked, he'd done it. Now the second world tournament could happen.

And finally, the meeting was over, the next one would only be after the Hoenn conference in August in the Alola region. Emily was tired of the whole official business she had only agreed to come in the first place because she was sick of Galar's culture of battles and wanted to see what the contests were like. Alas, she hardly got any free time until yesterday when she finally got to check out a contest. She absolutely loved it, she hadn't won but she didn't mind. She just wanted the experience, for now at least. If she ever gets the opportunity to come back she'd definitely want to try and win a Grand Festival.

"Say, Emily, were you with Daniel the whole day yesterday? Weren't you going to check out the contest and be right back?" Gloria's sudden question brought Emily out of her thoughts.

"No, no, I saw him on my way back and then he showed me around the city."

"Really? So, what happened?"

"What do you mean Gloria, nothings wrong."

"I never said anything was wrong though," Gloria smirks, this was her victory.

"Damnit Gloria you sure pick the worst days to be observant!"

"It's nothing Gloria you're overthinking things," Emily was desperately trying to deflect the accusations, but Gloria wasn't someone who swayed so easily.

"I haven't been a champion for four years for nothing you know, I'm quite smart," Gloria puffs out her chest a little as she speaks.

"Now tell me, Emily, what really happened yesterday?"

And then the two friends spoke till they fell asleep.

AN: Please let me know if I've done any good writing these characters, I'm planning on (obviously) expanding the cast. Something tells me one character doesn't really make a good story. So leave suggestions in the review as to whether I did a good job with the ones here.
