Chapter 6:

Lily walked back to the Slytherin common room and walked up to her dorm room. She opened her book bag and pulled out the diary and the note. The note said, "Read This First" so she turned over the envelope to see a green wax seal with the letter R engraved on it. Then she looked to see if anyone was watching and opened the envelope. The letter said,

Dear Lily,

I hope your first day at Hogwarts went well. The diary that came with this note was my diary when I was 16 years old. I have written a few instructions for you: 1)At the bottom of this letter tells you how to open the Chamber of secrets. 2)Do not let anyone see this letter or the diary. 3)The diary is a Horcrux so do not write in it or let anyone write in it.

How to open the Chamber of Secrets: 1) Locate the girl's bathroom on the second floor. 2) Speak open in parseltongue to the center sink. 3) Walk until you see the statue of Salazar Slytherin, then summon the Basilisk using parseltongue. 4) Use the Basilisk to kill one Mudblood and don't tell anyone.

Lily took the diary and the letter and locked it in her trunk and hid the key in her fake book on her bookshelf. She then grabbed her book bag and met up with Daphne and Pansy in the common room. Lily said, "Do you guys need any help on the potions essay?" Daphne nodded "I do. So Lily what is the correct way to brew a healing potion?" Lily opened her potions book to the page about healing potions. "So the correct way is to after combining the Wormwood and Bubotuber pus stir clockwise not counterclockwise…" "Hey Lily, hey Daphne, hey Pansy," said Draco "Have you seen Blaise?" Theodore asked. Pansy said, "Oh ya, I saw him in the great hall talking to Marcus about Quidditch." Theodore said, "Thanks Pansy, come on Draco" and walked out of the common room. Lily then said, "I have to go and check out a book at the library." Daphne said, "Ok you go ahead, Pansy and I can continue to do homework." So Lily left the common room and headed upstairs to the second floor. She found the Girl's bathroom and walked over to the center sink. She spoke, "Open" and the center sink lowered so that she could stand on it. The sink continued down until she saw a stone door with seven snakes where it stopped. She spoke, "Open" and the stone door opened to reveal a long stone passageway. Lily walked down the passageway and saw many connecting passageways, she continued straight and finally saw the statue of Salazar Slytherin. She spoke in parseltongue, "Speak to me, Slytherin, greatest of the Hogwarts Four." Suddenly the statue's mouth opened wide and the Basilisk slithered out towards Lily. "Basilisk, please bring the Mudblood Claire Evans here and attack the other mudblood students by petrifying them," Lily said. The Basilisk nodded its head and slithered away towards one of the other passageways. She walked back to the center hallway through the seven snake door and onto the bathroom sink. Where she was lifted up to the girl's bathroom.

Two days later…

Lily wrote a letter to her father telling him that she opened the Chamber and sent the Basilisk to petrify and kill some of the Mudbloods. She wrote,

Dear Father,

I have successfully opened the Chamber of Secrets and sent the Basilisk to petrify some of the mudbloods before taking Claire Evans down to the Chamber. Please take back the diary so it does not get involved, but bring the memory of your 16-year-old self to the Chamber so it looks like you opened the Chamber and not me. Since I opened the Chamber of Secrets, the Basilisk has petrified Justin Finch-Fletchley, Colin Creevey, and Miss. Norris. Can I tell my friends what I did?

The next day at breakfast Lily received a letter from her father, it said,

Dearest Lily,

Great job on opening the Chamber of Secrets. I am glad you choose a different plan from what I intended. Yes, I can send a memory of my 16-year-old self down to the Chamber. You can tell your friends but in secret. I want you to travel with Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Ginny Weasley down to the Chamber with Pansy Parkinson, Daphne Greengrass, Blaise Zabini, Theodore Nott, and Draco Malfoy. The Basilisk should petrified Hermione Granger next.

Lily looked up and said, "Guys follow me" so Pansy, Daphne, Blaise, Theodore, and Draco followed Lily into an abandoned classroom. Theodore asked, "What do you have to tell us?" Lily said, "Well my father told me to open the Chamber of Secrets and send the Basilisk to petrify Justin Finch-Fletchley, Colin Creevey, Miss. Norris, and Hermione Granger. We need to pretend to help Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Ginny Weasley find Harry's adopted sister Claire Evans." Daphne nodded, "So Harry Potter has a sister. Is that right?" Lily nodded. Pansy asked, "How is it possible for Harry Potter to speak to snakes?" "Well," Lily said, "Harry Potter is one of my Father's Horcruxes which means he has a part of my father's soul." Suddenly the Slytherins heard Professor McGonagall's voice projected from the Staffroom. She said, "Attention students! Please report to your House common rooms. We have had another attack, Hermione Granger has been petrified. We also found out that Claire Evans has been taken by the Heir of Slytherin. Can Harry Potter, Daphne Greengrass, Ron Weasley, Pansy Parkinson, Ginny Weasley, Blaise Zabini, Lily Ravenclaw, Theodore Nott, and Draco Malfoy please come to the Headmaster's Office." So the Slytherins walked towards the Headmaster's office where they meet up with the Gryffindor's. Professor McGonagall was waiting for them and said, "Hermione Granger was holding a page ripped out of a library book when she was petrified. It said that the Basilisk was the one who was petrifying the students and was traveling through the pipes. Where do you think Claire is being kept, Lily?" Lily looked up at McGonagall "I think the entrance to the Chamber of Secrets is in the second-floor girl's bathroom." McGonagall turned to the group "Why don't you guys go to the Girl's bathroom and save Claire." The group nodded and set off towards the girl's bathroom.
