Chapter Seven
Meanwhile, Admiral Nelson and Commander Rose Marie Baskins went to his office to discuss what the crystalline had to say about contacting his people at the Ice basin.
"Do you believe the alien Admiral Nelson?" Rose Marie needed to say to the inventor.
Rubbing his chin having not shaved this morning before coming to his office. "I don't know what to believe Rose Marie. This entire situation is just plain crazy starting with this alien, to the spy on board the Seaview, the attack, and then my friends dying inside the ice basin." Nelson exhaled with needing a cup of black coffee. "Would you care for one?"
"Not a chance Admiral. I need to be going home now to be with my family. Since we all need to rest as well along with the alien. Are you able to contact Darien at the United Nations?" she had to ask about the importance of getting in contact with the Alliance leader.
"Not yet! They had said that Darien had been off-world elsewhere needing to deal with an issue from what I was told. No doubt he had gotten the message by now and hopefully is on the way back?" Nelson said with a yawn.
"Good night," she says to him. Even though he had a number of calls to make to his science friends to try and figure out how these creatures were able to get here in the first place? He did remember about a type of crystalline creature a few years back at a Texaco oil rig for where these creatures had come up from the center of the Earth. He watched her leave heading for the beach house with her three sons waiting with the nanny helping out.
Currently, he made the first call to Doctor Elfrem Robbs of the Mount Calvary Observatory. He was working in his office after giving a tour of the grounds. Doctor Robbs has been a lifelong friend of Admiral Harriman Nelson.
Sipping his water after getting back. He heard his phone ring. Seeing that it's a friend from the Nelson Institue. He started to talk with him. "Harriman how are you old friend?" he says.
"Old is right! Efrem I need to ask you a strange question?" Nelson needed to comment to his friend over the phone.
"And what strange question you need to ask me?" Doctor Elfrem was curious when it comes to his long-time friend.
"Have you seen any strange vessels entering the Earth's atmosphere of late with your telescope?" he replied with sipping the last of his coffee.
"Now that you mention it, Harriman. There was something six months ago thinking it was broken pieces of an asteroid over the Alaska ice basin region. He had sent in the report to the military in the region. Even though nothing came of it, Harriman. Why do you ask?"
"Because we have come across a new life form that has the capability of sending electrical images to their people hiding out somewhere in the ice basin for where my friends are caught in a cavern bubble. We have one of those life forms here at the Institute and we are using the Universal Translator to speak with it. They have asked me to help them with their race dying. And in return in exactly six hours after going through regeneration will help save my friends until the rescue subs and vessels are able to get them out."
"And what about the Seaview?"
"Running at flank speed to get there. However, they have run into trouble already with being attack by another sub and a spy on board with sending and receiving coded messages." Nelson exclaimed with a deep breath.
"Harriman, do you think that you can trust this life form in order to save your friends inside the bubble inside the cavern?"
"No, I don't trust the life form. Just as I have no idea how to save his people. But I need further Intel for where they are from outside of the Andromeda system." he said to have something click with his friend at the observatory.
"Wait a minute. When I was attending a United Nations meeting with all of the alliance members. I was asked to attend by Darien. They were discussing a particular planet that the probes were able to scan before coming back to Earth. One of those systems dealt with crystalline creatures with their first planet planets were dying from radiation poisoning and so much more." his friend had said...
"Then they must be the same life forms this particular creature is talking about? he said with excitement even though now all of a sudden there was an idea in his mind depending on what Commander Rose Marie has to say on her design concerning the Vortex design to send the Flyer or Seaview to one of the planets to make contact with the government and try to explain how to save their planets.
"It must be Harriman and no doubt a lot of planning as well. Listen do you want me to fly to California and talk with you further with bringing the data and photos and scans taken of those spaceships landing in Alaska?" he said with needing to make the plans with getting his employees at the Observatory to gather all of the Intel.
"Please do Efrem. And when your flight gets in I will be sure to have an escort to bring you to the Institute in Santa Barbara." Nelson said to his friend over the line.
"Great! I will get started on the plans and calling the airlines to reserve a flight for myself. I have all of my personal items here since I am most of the time at the Observatory. See you soon old friend." he cried out with hanging up with the phone. He went to work with calling Professor Jenkins working downstairs with the others going over other scans taken by the telescope the past few days.
