I do not own Hetalia okay? I don't have much else to say here so enough of this A/N, on with the fic!

October 1st 1918

(From the diary of Ivan Braginsky)

Paris is lovely this time of year. Major Bonnefoy has been more than generous with me. I remember him getting too friendly with Fredka when he had to come to New York and for some reason he thinks this would make up for it by sending me to his chateau in the Parisian countryside to keep his wife and sister company. I am flattered he thinks so much of me but his younger sister Lucille explained that there's a lot of diplomatic issues going on that would lead to a sealing truce. His wife Alice told her to stop spewing such nonsense. Apparently she is from England and reminds me a lot of that English colonel Kirkland he had stopped by the firm with. I think Lucille mentioned they were cousins, her and Colonel Kirkland. Anyway, apparently I am also to tutor Lucille in Russian, which if what the news is is true, my old homeland is undergoing massive revolutions. I had seen trouble coming before, when we left Russia all those years ago. Well it wasn't that long ago. Back summer of 1912. I do remember that Katyusha was nervous after reading about the Titanic story. But it was summer and our route did not go to the north until we were closer to America. Had left out of Odessa though the Black Sea and the Mediterranean into the Atlantic.

Alice brings me daily updates and tells me that I should be heading back in November barring political or epidemic outbreaks. God I just want to go home. I miss Fredka. I want to see little Nikolai again and how much he has grown. And to finally meet Anya and little Ivan. I have kept that picture that Fredka sent of them soon after they were born and that's what keeps me going. It has been tough getting used to my injury and new condition and often Lucille and Alice help with some things I cannot do myself, despite my embarrassment. That's not really for them to see but Alice insists it is medical duty only and as upper echelon of society it is their duty to help. Then she rambles on about how Major Bonnefoy charmed her and she should have listened to her cousin. It is in this that I see how they are indeed cousins. Although Lucille tells me when she assists, which she isn't as stern as Alice and only helps when I say I need it, that her cousin Francoise was the one who married Arthur. Well that is an interesting development at least. That may explain why they fight like they do, besides the natural English and French tensions. Well I should finish this. Alice is scolding Lucille for not studying like she should. I have explained that I doubt I would be able to get Lucille fluent by the time I go home and Alice keeps saying I am stuck here until war end. God I hope not. This place is nice, I like Lucille, she probably could give Fredka a good run for his money when playing cards but how Major Bonnefoy puts up with Alice is beyond me.

Although I do have to note one of the household staff said she thought Lucille had a crush on me and it would be so romantic and Major Bonnefoy would no doubt approve, I cannot live a lie. I know who I love and I know it cannot be.

So how was that? Good? Bad? Short? Long let me know in a review. I honestly don't have too much else to say on this update so remember to read (well you just did) and to review. Ciao for now,
