Callie POV

"Mark, Aiden are you two ready to go?"

"Yeah, hold up what's the rush? Gonna see your girlfriend."

"No, what are you talking about. I don't have a girlfriend."

"You see when I finished work last night, I saw Arizona walking out of our apartment complex to the hospital parking lot. So I was wondering who could she be visiting? I didn't want to assume you since we aren't the only people from the hospital who live here. Then, Aiden said that Arizona was over eating pizza."

"Oh. Yeah she came over and had pizza. No big deal." That seemed to work for now, but knowing Mark he won't let this one slide.

"Well, let's go. Let's drop off Aiden and then we can go get coffee."

The walk to the daycare went fine. He never brought it up which is good cause I don't want Aiden hearing all this talk about Arizona. He already is so infatuated with her. Standing in line at the coffee cart, "So, what's going on with you and Arizona?"

"Nothing Mark, we left the hospital at the same time. Aiden saw her and asked if she wanted to come over." I say not looking at him.

"Is that all?"

"Yeah, of course."

Just then Addison joins us at the coffee cart. "Hey guys what's going on?"

"Nothing, Callie just lying. Saying nothing going on with her and Arizona."

"Cal are you and Arizona together?"

"You guys, we aren't together. Okay!" I snapped.

"Okay, no need to get your panties in a knot." Addison jokes.

As I stepped up to the barista, she hands me a freshly brewed cup of coffee. When I go to swipe my badge she stops me. "Dr. Torres, you're good. When Dr. Robbins came in this morning. She paid for yours too."

"Really? Umm. Okay. Thanks."

I take my coffee and stand on the side waiting for my two friends. I quickly send a text you Arizona.

C: Thanks for the coffee. You didn't need to do that. Xoxo, Calliope

A: I know I didn't need to, but I wanted to. Have a great day xoxo, Arizona.

"So just pizza huh?" Mark says smirking.

"Yeah, nobody has ever bought me coffee Callie. Must have been some pizza." Addison chuckles while sipping on her coffee.

"Okay, nothing happened. We finally talked about everything, and we decided that, we're gonna take things slow, go on dates, hang out. Sure we kissed and made out, but that was it."

"Well I'm all for it." Addison says giving me a hug."

"Me too, you go Torres. Get that hot Peds doctor."

"What hot Peds doctor are you talking about?" Arizona says out of nowhere. I nearly jumped out of my skin. Addison has her hand on her heart and Mark is holding is mouth. I think he burnt his lip with his coffee. If I wasn't to shocked I would be laughing. Clearly everyone is surprised.

"Nothing." Addison and Mark say at the same time.

She looks at me "Calliope?"

"Umm what exactly did you hear?" I asked biting the corner of my lip.

"Nothing just the part about the hot Peds doctor. I hope you aren't talking about Dr. McKinley. He's old and I'm sorry to say it sometimes he smells." Arizona jokes.

Mark and Addison both bent over laughing.

"No, we were talking about you."

"Ohh, well thanks I guess. Well it was nice seeing you. I'll see you guys around." She gives me a kiss on the cheek and rolled off.

"I really like her." Mark says.

"Same." Addison agreed wiping away her tears.

"Yeah I like her too." I say watching her roll away. "Well, I need to do, I have rounds."

Arizona POV

After I got home last night, I went straight to bed. That was probably the best sleep I've had in a long time. I'm sure it was thanks to a certain brunette cardio surgeon.

I woke up extra early to get my coffee and prepare for today. I knew I had to meet with Jake's parents. So when I walked into the hospital lobby, I walked up to the coffee cart. "Hey, umm.. Laura do you know who Dr. Torres is?"

"Yes, I do."

"Okay, awesome. Do you know her order ?"

"Yes, I do. She comes here everyday with Dr. Sloan and Dr. Montgomery."

"Okay, perfect. I'll pay for hers along with mine."

"Sure thing. Dr. Robbins."

After thanking her I make my way to my office, to put everything down.

"Hey Zona, Jake's parents are here."

"Okay, let me get settled and I'll be there in 10 minutes."

"Well im gonna go over a few charts while I sit here and wait for you."

"Okay, awesome."

"Awesome? What's going on?"

"Nothing, why do you think something is wrong?"

"You're a lot more cheerful than normal. What happened last night?"

"What, I'm not cheerful."

"Zoney, you got laid didn't you. I thought you were turning over a new leaf or whatever nonsense you've been saying."

"Shut up, I did turn over a new leaf."

"Okay, so what happened?"

"Fine, I had dinner with Callie and Aiden last night. I finally talked to her about everything."

"Everything? What everything?"

I totally forgot that I haven't told Tim what's been going on. I've been so busy with all my case loads. "Well we almost kissed a couple of times. I couldn't ignore my attraction to her any longer. So after Aiden went to sleep. We talked, we decided to take things slow. So Sunday I'm gonna take them to the aquarium."

"Wow, I had no idea. You did turn over a new leaf. I'm happy for you Zona."

"Thanks, I thought you'd be mad."

"No, I'm not mad. I'm glad you finally told me. You ready to go."

"Yeah, let me grab the brochures and we can head over to Jake's."

Walking into Jake's room. I could hear the sound of laughter going on. "Good morning, everyone. I see that we are in good spirits. I just wanted to come in and check on Jake. Then Dr. Robbins will do a check on his amputation."

After I do a routine check up, I put my chart down and watch Timothy do his part.

"Mrs. Fisher could I talk to you outside for a moment?"

She nods her head. "Is everything okay?"

"Yes everything is fine. I just wanted to give you this. It's brochures for a studio in Seattle that does ballet for amputees. I'm not saying he should go out and do this tomorrow. I'm just giving you this as an option."

"I understand."

"Jake seemed to be in good spirits, but I would like you to ease into this. He might take this the wrong way. So just wait for him to talk to you about it. I talked to the instructor and they said that if Jake meets the requirements his insurance could pay for it"

"Thank you so much Dr. Robbins you didn't need to do this."

"I know I didn't have to, but I wanted to. I understand hard work, and grit. But along other things you need to have talent. I don't know much about dancing and ballet but I know talent and Jake has that."

"Thanks Dr. Robbins."

"My part of Jake's case is done. Dr. Robbins will be taking over from here. I just want to give you my card, if your family needed anything. Also call me for his first recital. Knowing him it won't be too long."

She gives me a hug, "Thank you, we appreciate all you and your brother has done for us."

"You're welcome."

As I'm walking back to my office, I feel my phone vibrate and it's from Callie. My day is busy, but I want to see her even if it's just for a second. I see her talking to Mark and Addison. So I sneak up behind them. I hear Mark say something about a hot Peds doctor.

"What hot Peds doctor? I say surprising them.

"Nothing." Mark and Addison say.

I look to Callie knowing if I look hard enough she will give me an answer.

"I hope you aren't talking about McKinley. He's old and I hate to say this but sometime he smells."

Callie looked to the side and shyly says, "We were talking about you."

I'm not shocked. I knew they were talking about me, I check my watch and I see I'm behind. Alex must be waiting for me. "I'll see you guys around." I kiss her cheek and leave.

Callie POV

After finishing my morning rounds, I hear a knock on the door.

"Hey Teddy, what can I do for you?"

"Cal, me and you. We've known each other for years right? You pretty much taught me everything I know, you made me into the surgeon I am today."

I tilt my head and nod. "Are you okay?"

"Yes I'm fine. Timothy just told me about you and Arizona."

"And you're her best friend."

"Yes, and I know you might be expecting a best friend speech, but I'm gonna do the opposite. Arizona she's amazing. Everyone who knows her loves her and if you don't. You're bound to love her."

I definitely could agree on everything she's saying.

"Okay?"

"I think you and her are gonna be great together. Just be patient with her. She's never been in a serious relationship. So all this is new. But with all that. I've never seen her this happy."

"Thank you Teddy. She makes me happy too. Granted we didn't do anything yet, but she does make me happier. I find myself waiting for her to come into any room I'm in. I get happy whenever I hear anyone mention her name."

"Wow you two got it bad for each other."

Just then my phone vibrates. I look down and it's Arizona.

A: Hey beautiful, you free to go to lunch?

C: Wow you have amazing timing. It just calmed down. I'll see you soon.

"I'm guessing from the smile on your face that you were texting Arizona."

"Yes, I'm gonna meet her for lunch. You wanna come?"

"No, I'm good I have surgery in an hour."

"Okay, well thank you for talking to me Teddy. I'll see you on Monday."

Arizona POV

I'm waiting for Callie outside the lunch room, when some doctor walks up to me. She's pretty. Blonde hair, green eyes. So it not like totally looking at myself.

Batting her eyes she puts her hand out "Hey, I'm Dr. Amanda Russel, Ortho."

"Dr. Arizona Robbins. Peds. You must know my brother.

"Yeah, he's my boss. I've heard great things about you."

"From Timothy? I'm sure he hasn't said much."

"Well, he said you are the best. From the articles I read about you. I would have to agree." She says lightly brushing my arm.

I take a step back, not expecting her to be so touchy. I look around looking for Callie. Why is she taking so long. "Well Dr. Robbins would you like to go for drinks after work or maybe some other time?"

Then I see her come out from the corner. "Sorry Dr. Russel, I'm actually seeing someone."

"You are? Your brother never mentioned anything."

Callie walks up to me and I put my arm around her waist, and she looks at me lifting up her eyembrows. "Dr. Russel, you know Dr. Torres right?"

"Yeah, I do." She says flatly

"Hi, Dr. Russel nice to officially meet you." Callie smiled.

"Likewise, Dr. Torres." She says totally unamused.

"Awesome. Her and I are gonna have lunch. You can join us if you want?"

"No, I'm good." She says walking away.

"You know, I've never talked to her in my entire life. The first time we do. She's mad at me. What did you do?"

"She was flirting with me and I kept trying to shut it down, but she wouldn't take the hint." I say pulling her closer.

"You know, we're at work right?"

"Calliope, I know exactly where we are. I just can't help myself."

"Mhmm. So tell me what happened?" She says pulling out of my reach.

"Nothing, she just kept touching me and then she asked me out."

"Oh yeah what did you say?"

"I said of course."

"What!" She snapped.

"I'm just joking Calliope. I didn't need to say anything. I grabbed you and held your waist. And if she didn't take the hint. Then I don't know what else I need to do."

"You know, you suck at jokes right?"

"Yeah, I believe you told me that, the first day I met you. Anyways let's go eat before we get paged back to our departments."

I'm sitting next to Callie and I'm watching her in my peripherals and she's telling me a story about her intern year. I can't help but noticed how beautiful she is. I've never had this feeling before. Like my every move depends on her. Just sitting next to her makes me happy. When anyone mentions her name, I smile. God what is happening to me. Ive never felt so out of control in my life.

"You know you can just look at me, instead of your peripherals." She laughed. "Yes, I caught you staring. I think you should be less obvious. If you don't want to get caught."

I pick up my carrot and take a bite "Who said I didn't want to get caught?"

"You're good at that."

"Good at what?" I asked genuinely confused.

"Flirting. It's like second nature to you."

"Why you don't enjoy it?"

"No, I enjoy it too much." She says squeezing my thigh.

"Good, cause I'm gonna keep flirting with you." I say pulling the leg of her chair dragging her closer to me. She shakes her head and kisses my cheek. Our eyes locked together, oblivious to what's going on around us.

"Are you two together?" We both spring apart looking at Addison.

"You scared the shit out of me. Ads." Callie says

"You didn't answer me, Cal."

"Umm." She stutters.

"Yeah, we're together. We are also engaged and you're invited to the wedding." I joked.

Addison looks at me and then starts cracking up. "Callie, I really like this one. You better lock this one down."

"I know right, I better. Someone almost roped her in today. Thank goodness I showed up. Who knew what would happened if I didn't?" Callie said winking at me.

"Really, who was it?"

"Dr. Russel." Callie answered.

"Ohhh, ortho, blond hair, green eyes, short. Pretty."

"Yeah, if you're into blondes. Me, I like my woman tall, brunette, beautiful brown eyes, and she needs to have a super magic smile. You know one that can light up a whole room." I say looking directly into Callie's eyes.

Turning my attention back to Addison, "Well, I hate to cut this short, but I need to head back to my department. I'll see you guys later."

"Sounds.. um.. good." Callie stutters

"See you later Dr. Montgomery."

"Bye Dr. Robbins."

Callie POV

I watched Arizona gather her plate and walk out of the cafeteria.

"Holy shit Cal, what was that?" Addison looked at me with wide eyes.

"Umm.. I don't know." I say still shocked from the way Arizona was looking deep into my eyes talking about me.

"I hate to say this, but if someone was looking and talking to me the way Arizona just was with you, I think I'd take them right here on the table."

"Addison.."

"Seriously Callie that was hot, I'm so fucking jealous, nobody has ever looked at me like the way she was looking at you."

I turn my attention back to her. "Yeah, I think really really like her."

"Why wouldn't you? She's an awesome surgeon, gorgeous, funny as hell and not mention she got a way with words."

"Yeah and a flirt. She just doesn't stop."

"I like this."

"What?"

"This happiness. I've never seen you smile so much."

"I don't know. I've only known her a little over a month. We haven't even gone on one date yet. And even then it's not a date. I'm taking Aiden with us."

"You want me to watch him?"

"No, it's fine. It was Arizona's idea."

"Anyways my point is that, I hardly know her, and I can find myself falling for her. That is just too soon. I haven't been with anyone since before Aiden. Before him, I didn't have the greatest track record. I fall fast, and what I feel for Arizona. Yeah it's too fast. So I need to slow down and be cautious. But when she's around me, that gets tossed out the window."

"Well, you're human. You're allowed to feel, but it's good to be cautious. I'm glad you're looking out for yourself and Aiden. But I have a feeling Arizona is different."

"For some reason, I do too. Well Ads. I should head back as well. I haven't been paged and I'm not sure if that's a good sign or not.

"Yang, how's our transplant patient doing?"

"He's good, his body accepted the heart."

"Okay, that's good. I'm off tomorrow and Sunday. So keep an eye on him, and if anything happens, be sure to page me."

"I will Dr. Torres."

"Well, I'm gonna go home. It's been a long day." I take my phone out and text Arizona.

C: You finished with work?"

A: No, not even close, The doctor that was supposed to take over called in sick. So it looks like I'm gonna be here all night. I'll probably just stay here till I'm done work tomorrow.

C: Sorry to hear that. I was gonna invite you to dinner.

A: Was dessert included?

C: What do you think ;)

A: I think I want to skip the main course and eat dessert.

C: You are something else Arizona Robbins. I'll see you Sunday.

A: Can I call you tonight? When it slows down.

C: Yes
