Chapter 7

They sat around a deep blue flame surrounded by some of the local Light Elves in the village, the fire was magical. Peter and Diana were overwhelmed with hospitality, Peter watched as two Elves approached him. One was a woman the other was a little boy most likely mother and son they stopped in front of him. Holding basic necessities for his injuries that were still bleeding and stinging,
"May we tend to your injuries?" The woman asked with the little boy shyly standing behind her. Her long blond hair flowed down her body almost reaching the floor Peter looked at them both for a moment. Before nodding yes, responding to her question was a little difficult especially since his body was aching all over. The woman offered him a smile causing him to blush under his mask as she placed down her supplies on the same place he was sitting. She slowly unwrapped a piece of cloth that had herbs and other remedies unknown to him.
"I'm going to need you to remove your shirt." The Woman said.
Peter coughed awkwardly but did as he was told, reaching down he pulled the top portion of his suit over his head. Mindful of his mask he kept it on but placed it over his nose so he wouldn't be breathing through it. The woman wasted no time tending to his injuries which were many in number but only one was to be worried about. A larger cut that was around his stomach area, It was still bleeding and judging by the way it looks it had developed an infection.
"What did this to you?" She asked trying to keep his mind off of the cleaning she was about to start. Peter hissed in pain as he felt the woman place the damp rag onto his cut, "Sorry about that but it needs to feel worse before any better."
"IIt's okay…" Peter said obvious strain in his voice as she continued to work over his cuts. Peter couldn't help but admire how pretty she was, her pointed ears and long hair and almost pale skin.
"Your staring." The light elf said with a smile on her face.
"I…Umm…Sorry." Peter siad, mentally kicking himself. He was just on an island surrounded by super model warrior women but still couldn't formulate a proper sentence to save his life. He's never been great when it came to women, his time in Mid Town was responsible for that. Before becoming the Amazing Spider-Man he was an average teenager, who was bullied by the entire school.
"Are introduction not customary where you are from?"
"Nope! He's just terrible at it!" Aine said the sound of her wings and voice startled Peter as she landed on his shoulder. He stared at the smiling fairy blankly under his mask when his attention was brought to Diana. Who found amusements in Aine's comment and couldn't help but laugh herself
"Cmon not you to." Peter said. But was brought back to his cuts as he felt a jolt of pain travel through his body.
"Sorry." She apologized again. "My name is Dilya… Just incase you didn't know, this is where you introduce yourself also." She looked at Peter playfully as she reached into her bag that was next to him and took out her bandages.
"I'm Spider-Man." Peter said, he would have introduced himself by his real name but something triggered his Spider sense earlier. Thinking back to what might have been following them he didn't want to take any chances. He can't risk the likes of Loki or Ares finding out who he was, and coming after everyone he holds close. Up until arriving to Themyscira Peter never told anyone who he was it was his way of protecting them, even if he hurts those he loves most by his secret. This was one secret he was going to be stingy with and not share it to anyone. But being gone this long, aunt May must be worried sick about him, how was he going to cover this lie? By covering it up with another one…
"Thats your name?" Aine said in disbelief.
Diana looked at him curiously as to why he would address himself as his alias instead of his proper name. But she would keep quiet and not say anything regarding it, thinking back to what he said when he was wrapped in the lasso…
"So what brought you here to us?" Dilya asked.
"We were engaged in a conflict with ares and Loki before we were brought here by the Norn Stone." Diana said. Her sisters and mother flooding into her mind, she hoped that they would be okay in her absence. Although most of them have way more experience than Diana the thought of night fighting alongside them saddened her, if anything were to happen to them…
The mood surrounding the flame grew more tense as Dilya finished wrapping Peters wound and placed her supplies back in her bag. It wasn't completely cleaned but she did what she could to stop him from bleeding out at least. Peter stood from his seat and did his best to stretch, twisting and turning his upper torso gently.
"Thank You." Peter said reaching for the top portion of his suit and began to place it on. Diana stole a glance of his shirtless form before it was covered by his red and blue uniform. She looked over at the Fairy who now sat on the fallen tree branch, barely visible but was staring at Diana. With a look of 'Yeah I just saw that.' Diana cheeks grew warmer as she looked down at her boots.
"What do you two plan on doing once you retrieve the Norn Stone?" Aine asked.
"Give it to Thor for safe keeping, hopefully it doesn't end up in the same museum they stole it from." Peter said as he walked over still clenching his side and sat next to Diana. " You said something earlier…What did you mean by 'other ones' when you first met us Aine."
"Right before I bumped into the two of you their were two others that came just before you did." Aine said. "One even had the audacity to swipe one of those at me." She pointed at the sword that was attached to Diana's hip.
"What did he look like?" Diana asked.
"Real scary, he was in darker armor and was wearing a skirt." Aine said "The darker armor was the scary part, not the skirt."
Peter let out a chuckle before stopping immediately feeling the pain course through his body. Ares and Loki were already here but they haven't seen a single sight of them. Peter's mind raced with possibilites of why they wouldn't just use the Stone to teleport themselves away. Unless they don't have it either. Which poses another problem, which of them was going to get it first…
…
Thor came crashing down, swatted by the giant creature, his helmet laid to his side and he reached for it. He wiped his nose with his left hand and grinned seeing the blood that was on his knuckle. Extending his right arm out horizontally the sky roared from the thunder as Mjolnir came crashing into his hand enveloping him in lighting. The skies shook with authority his godly powers emanating around the area.
"You will not best the Son of Odin creature!" Thor proclaimed.
KRAAAKAOOOOOOOM
Lighting came crashing down and striking the undead giant in the head forcing it to stagger back, Thor spun his hammer and flew into the air hitting it below the chin and knocking it over. The ground shook from the impact and the weather grew wild. Thor was cutting loose not holding back…
Sif looked on at the battle and shook her head, sure he was winning the fight so far but he was making a mess of the surrounding areas. She looked over at the queen of the amazons who was watching him with a calculated gaze. As in looking for ways to bring down the god of thunder if the matter called for it. But she heard the rumors from some of the gods in the Norse, if what they said is true then she has every right to be skeptical of men.
"Here is the Horn my lady." Artemis said. Handing it over to the queen who grabbed it and looked at the Asgardian women.
"How do we know we can trust you?" Hippolyta looked at them, her grip around the horn tightening. She heard the tales of how ruthless the norse were when they were at wore with one another. When she joined the battle she was still new and the fighting stopped only a couple of months after she joined.
"You can't. But rest assure M'lady our only mission at this very moment is to stop Loki from disturbing the peace." Brunnhilde said walk forward and extending her hand out reaching for the horn.
"We understand your distrust, for if I were in your position I would do the same." Sif said walking forward also. "But we will not tolerate one such as Loki to run rampant for much longer and retrieve the mortal he has endangered."
"Of course you would be worried for the Man of Spiders." Brunnhilde said she flipped her long blonde hair to the side and looked at Sif knowingly.
"As if you do not feel the same." Sif fired back. The amazons watched the two Asgardian women go back and forth for several moments. Hippolyta grew curious to how these Norse goddesses knew of Peter, before a small smile formed on her face. The first man to step foot on the island and he is full of surprises.
KRAAAAAKOOOOOM
There attention was brought back to the battle that ensued between Thor and the giant creature as he hit it with another lightning bolt. But to no avail, it was repairing itself from its wounds almost instantly. Although someone as powerful as Thor can easily best beasts such as this, the rate at which it was recovering from each attack was annoyingly taxing.
"The Horn if I may…" Brunnhilde said extending her arm out to retrieve it from the queen. Hippolyta handed it over to the Asgardian woman and watched as she moved it around examining it closer.
"Now how did Loki convince Hela to give him the horn?" Sif asked curiously.
"He didn't." Brunnhilde held the horn in the air and noticed a small glowing marking on the underside. Shaped as the horns on the top of Loki's helm "Self centered as always I see." She showed the markings to Sif.
"Will you be able to break the spell?" Sif asked the Valkyrie
"Perhaps, but I am uncertain if my limited training with Lady Frigga will be enough." Brunnhilde brought a hand to her chin and examined the horn carefully. Frigga, the mother of Thor and adopted mother of Loki. When they took Loki in she trained him in the ways of magic, ultimately becoming one of the most powerful mages in Asgard. But even at the time none of them could have guessed that Loki would betray them.
KRAAAAKKOOOOOOM
Another bolt of lightning brought their attention back to Thor, striking the giant directly in the chest knocking it over. The ground groaned from the impact and the entirety of the area shook violently. Lightning poured out of Thors body as he hovered above the creature. The sky darkened and the lightning grew more vicious the sky roared as Thor brought his gaze down.
"I do not know what your plan here is monster."
KRAAAAKOOOOOOOM
"But you will fall! So Says the Son of Odin!" Thor brought down a full powered lightning blast that enveloped the area. Dust and dirt blinded them and surrounded them entirely, unaware of the outcome of the God of Thunders attack. When the dust settled Thor slowly descended down to the giant crater that was made. All that remained from the monster was bits and pieces of bones that laid scattered across the crater. Sif, Valkyrie, and the Amazons approached the edge of where the crater began as they looked down. Thor admired his handy work and slowly floated back up and landed in front of the women. He wore a victorious grin on his face as he removed his helmet and let his blonde hair flow down to his shoulders.
"Greetings Amazons! I am Thor Son of Odin, the All Father." Thor bowed his head.
"We do not take kindly to unwanted guests on this Island, especially a man." Hippolyta spoke.
"Aye, I apologize for entering uninvited. I am aware of your history with men from the past." Thor spoke. "But we are here to aide and ally in need."
"What is your relationship to Peter?" Antiope said stepping to her sisters side.
"He is favored among our people." Sif stared down and swore she saw parts of the bones shift around.
"That he most certainly is, do you know of his current whereabouts?" Valkyrie asked.
"He was sent away along with my daughter during his battle with the Trickster and Ares." Hippolyta moved closer to the edge and looked down at the crater as well. Trying her best to not worry for her daughter, but that is a mother instinct after all. Diana is well suited to handle herself her training up to this point may prove that. But she is also aware of how ruthless Ares can be, she needs to find her daughter. All of their attention was brought to the crater and they watched as the small bits of bone began to reform itself.
"Odins beard!"
"Gather around and prepare to restrain the beast once again!" Hippolyta ordered as her amazons dispersed and prepared themselves.
"Thor stop it from repairing itself too quickly, while Valkyrie and I work on getting the horn." Sif said, the fight was far from over and was preparing to take a turn into its next stages.
…
Light Elves surrounded Peter and Diana, the mentioning of the peace that they love so dearly possibly at stake made them intrigued and fearful. Most of them lived through the battle that took placed a long time ago, and didn't want to re-live the intense fighting from the passed. Peter and Diana explained their efforts to stop Ares and Loki and how it brought them here.
"Aine where exactly did you see them?" Spider-Man asked.
"It was close to the Corral castles, nearing the shores." Aine said flying around and landing on Peter shoulder. "I can take you both there if you'd like."
"But we still don't know where the stone is." Diana's grip tightened around her lasso of truth given to her mother by the gods and now passed down to her. She wore this Wonder Woman armor proudly, but her mind couldn't help but worry about her home. Her sisters were probably still fighting off those undead creatures and she wasn't their to defend her home. Snapping out of her thoughts she felt a hand placed over hers. Looking to the side she saw Peter staring at her intently…
"I'm sure they are fine Diana." Peter said offering her reassurance that her sisters can defeat the enemy back in her home. Diana looked at him and a smile formed on her face and her cheeks flushed, she appreciated the gesture.
"Ahem!" Aine said snapping them out of their moment. "I can take you to the last place I saw them."
"We will be sending a handful of our own to accompany you." A mans voice approached the group that were gathered around the fire. "Forgive the intrusion and late introductions I was speaking with some of our scouts that were out west."
He wore a green jacket with a leather vest underneath black bottoms and brown boots. A bow strapped to his back with a small dagger on his hip. Pointed ears and white hair with a small unit of light elves behind him.
"I'm Alok commander of this village and area" He bowed and joined them around the fire fire. "I've been told of your situation and we offer our services."
"We are grateful." Diana said.
"It is our pleasure." Alok said. "We may not know where Loki and Ares are located but we can however help you track the Norn Stone that brought you to us."
"How?" Spider-Man asked, his mask was above his nose as he took a sip of what he can only pressure is tea.
"Magic of course." Alok said. "We will seek counsel with the head sorceress just east from where we are now."
"My lord!" An elf in armor and a bow around his shoulders ran towards the group and stopped right in front of Alok. He went down on a knee and took a moment to catch his breathe before he looked up.
"Dark Elves have been spotted heading towards the village" The soldier said. Alok stood from his seat and approached the squad that accompanied him earlier.
"Rally the rest, sound the alarms, form a perimeter." Alok looked back towards Peter and Diana. "We ask for your assistance."
Diana nodded immediately standing and cracking her knuckles, but Peter didn't share her enthusiasm. He stared at the ground deep in thought, it didn't make sense to him, Why wait this long to fight? Peter doesn't know if these Dark Elves were the ones that triggered his spider sense earlier but the clues add up. So they must have followed them from that point all the way up to this village, but why haven't they attacked.
Peter shot up from his seat reacting to his Spider sense, moving fast he tackled Dilya to the groaned just as a barrage of arrows came flying towards the group. Diana deflected the incoming arrows with ease as she used her lasso to grab the assailant from the trees above. It wrapped around him and she brought him to the ground hard. Diana held him underfoot as she looked over towards Peter worried for his well being. Thankfully she saw him and Dilya stand, Peter immediately gripped his side once again. The wound began to bleed again and the pain resurfaced he looked around at the others to make sure they were also in one piece.
"Help me!"
"Vulen!" Dilya shouted, the little boy from earlier was missing nowhere to be seen. She went to run off but Peter caught her arm just in time and held onto her. "Let go he needs me!"
"I'll go. Diana you help the others with the Dark Elves that are approaching the village." Spider-Man said as he reached down and tore through a piece of cloth and tied it around him self to add pressure to his wound.
"You are in no condition to.."
"We need to split up…I'll rescue the kid."
Without another word Peter sprinted off into the direction the screaming came from. Diana watched him for a couple of moments before the dense jungle consumed his body and he disappeared.
"Are all men as stubborn as he?"
