I was lying in my bed, but I got a text notification on my phone, so that kept me pretty occupied.

Mom: Hey sweety! Your father and I are worried about you, we haven't heard a single thing from you.

Me: i'm fine mom, don't worry, i'm with michelle and i start my job on monday

Mom: Oh honey, that's great! Are you a paralegal?

Me: no mom, assistant librarianing

Mom: oh

Me: don't be like that. it was the best paying one from the classifieds, it is a respectable career even for the long term, and i plan on doing something with music in the future

Mom: Or you could be a paralegal, it is a great transition into a lawyer. Mrs. Piscitelli said she would be happy to help you with law school.

Me: just because i thought about going to law school for a week in junior year of high school doesn't mean i still want to

I left the conversation at that. I can't believe I was starting an actual job in two days. I had been doing nothing, just watching Downton Abbey at my parents' house since I landed last week and hanging out with Rodrick since Thursday, and it was Saturday.

However, I decided to walk out of my room. There, Rodrick still slouched on the couch as the sounds of baseball emanated from the TV. Rodrick looked up and saw me just kind of wandering around the large room. I hadn't eaten anything that day so I just decided to grab one of the chocolate chip cookies that Rodrick and I made, not very healthy but whatever. Which surprisingly dwindled a lot in amount since we made them, even though I hadn't even eaten one.

"Hey, Owen, I just saw that Titanic is playing on one of those movie channels tonight at eight-thirty care to join me?" Rodrick asked. I just blinked and looked at him, still in a sad trance. "What? Nothing like a heartbreaking, disaster movie to get you out of an audition slump." He said, leaning against the doorway. He was flashing his smiling smirk.

"Sure." I said with a shrug. Rodrick nodded awkwardly, still smiling and walking out of the large room and into the hallway. I sighed, maybe that is just what I needed. I heard the shutting of a door and a few seconds later, the sound of drumming.

Just then, the chamber choir group chat went off. Olivia stressing about getting into medical school, despite the fact that she was easily the smartest out of all of us, poor Gwinda was stuck in her parent's cottage in Flintshire, and Lisa was having trouble job hunting. I added my two cents about how I was starting my job on Monday, and I was living with a guy I went to highschool with.

lisAAAA: Abigail is living with a boy! How scandalous!

Me: shut up

gwinda the good witch: finally something interesting

gwinda the good witch: is he cute?

Me: well he's not unattractive

Well now that I was really thinking about it, Rodrick was rather good looking, a little goofy, but still. He was also really funny, and likeable.

Liv Liv: Somebody's in looooooove!

Me: *rolls eyes while blushing*

By then the group chat was going crazy. Lisa, Olivia, and Gwinda were all trying their best to express their excited emotions through texting. I rolled my eyes and put my phone down.

Today was my last day of doing nothing. It was around one o'clock now, I watched a little bit of the baseball game. Rodrick continued his drum practice on for an impressive amount of time before he finally came out of his room for a bathroom break. The game had ended, and Michelle texted me.

mt. Michelllllle: Hey, you haven't texted me in a while, how's things.

Me: pretty good, I've been a little busy today. actually not too great i failed an audition for anything goes

mt. Michelllllle: No way! I'm auditioning tomorrow at noon.

Me: all the luck to you

mt. Michelllllle: Also, I know your parents are a little overbearing sometimes so feel free to come over whenever. My offer still stands, and I miss you.

Me: dude you really are the best
