Angelica learns the secret of feigin
The two met under the bridge. Fagin and a gentleman named Monks
"Mr. Monks." Good evening. Don't you think this place is ugly and not very suitable for negotiations? Feigin greeted him. Monks smiles
—I like it here.
—Why would you want a ragamuffin like that, a decent gentleman?
" The ragamuffin has a sister. Said Monks I must get rid of them. Wait said Monks. He grabbed the girl by the hair.
What are you doing here? Feigin was visibly nervous.
"You followed us?" Monks put his cane under her throat.
—I needed Feigin. She mumbled.
—You were stupid enough to be in the wrong place. I heard everything. Monks said.
"Mr. Monks, she's my best pickpocket. Maybe this case can be settled? Feigin asked.
—You know what to do with them. Monks said.
Feigin took Angelica and led her back.
—If you try to tell someone, you'll be screwed.
Angelica tried to say something, but it hurt to say it.
—It will be a good lesson for you, my dear. Feigin said.
Angelica sat down at the table with the others.
"You're taking a long time." Dodger noticed. She tried to answer, but couldn't
— Does it hurt you to talk? Dodger asked. She nodded and ran away.
Dodger Eden, who could read. He picked up a sheet of paper on his desk.
"Jack, I can't talk because I'm in so much trouble. I overheard a conversation with Fagin and a man named Monks about getting rid of Oliver and me. I'm scared, Jack. This man is capable of many things, he has a birthmark on his neck. " Jack came to her room. And he shook Angelica.
—I know everything. I won't let you get hurt. He stroked it. She nodded and fell asleep. He stayed with her.
There was a bang downstairs, and the boys turned to the door. There was a loud knock, and the door opened, revealing Angelica, panting, trying to catch her breath. Dodger and Charlie looked at each other, then got up and walked over to her. Charlie put a hand on her shoulder, " Are you okay, Angelica?
She nodded - Yes, I'm fine."
"What's wrong, Angelica?" Dodger looked at her.
"Nothing," she said firmly, and he jumped. Then she met the eyes of Fagin, the old thief, and stared at him with a murderous stare. She then pushed the man away and ran to her room, but not before slamming the door. Dodger and Charlie looked at Fagin, who looked guilty, and stared at each other. What the hell happened to both of them? All they know is that no matter what happens, it's bad.
"Are you all right, Angelica?"" Charlie pulled the petite girl out of her thoughts.
"Yes, I'm fine." She turned away and closed her eyes. The boys exchanged glances. Something has happened, something bad, and the fact that she doesn't say anything tells them otherwise. They decided to leave it alone, because she wouldn't tell them anything. They just hope that no one has harmed her. The silence was broken when the door opened. They looked into the kitchen to see who it was, and exchanged warning glances.
Fagin stood up: "monks, how are you?"" Oliver was awakened by a sudden noise and yawned. When he saw the monks, he became nervous.
FIRST PERSON Angelica
I'm going down the stairs to go to Dodger's room when he appears from a dark corner, literally startling me. I don't know how he does it, but he is not called a cunning rascal for nothing. He came quickly to me as I reached the end of the stairs and stood in front of me. I'm getting nervous, what does he want? "Angelica, I know the monks have said something bad to you, and you must tell me." I couldn't see his face clearly because it was dark, but I can feel his seriousness. "We all suspect him. You have to tell me what he did."
I paused for a moment, wondering if I should tell him. I decided to tell him that I needed to get this off me, but no one else should know, at least not yet. "You must promise not to tell anyone.""
Dodger nodded, "I promise." He swore and took my hand in his."
"Monks took me because, well, he's not who you think he is. He told me that he was Oliver's half-brother, and their parents were rich, but before they died, they were going to give Oliver the family inheritance if he wasn't involved in the crime. As Monks wanted the family fortune for himself, he decided to kill Oliver and used Fagin to help him.
"So Fagin is an accomplice?"" It was more of a statement than a question.
"Monks, he's very dangerous." - Dodger, the monks only used Fagin. It could kill me, too."
Dodger hugged me, and I was relieved to tell him about it. He whispered in my ear, " He won't kill us, I'll take care of it. If he comes back, I'll make sure everything's all right." He patted my back and put his other arm around my waist. For the first time in a long time, I feel safe. It's not that I've never felt safe before, Bill has always been on the way.
