The case that the team were currently working was requiring all hands on deck which is why Jubal was also out in the field with them. He and Isobel were the only two that the club owners hadn't met while working the case and they knew that the only way they were going to catch these two guys were by getting them to confess. That was how Isobel and Jubal had both agreed to wearing wires and going undercover tonight at Club Urban as the team listened to the feed in a surveillance truck that wasn't far from the nightclub.
Maggie, OA, Stuart, Tiffany and Kristen were all in the surveillance truck, they had brought Kristen along in case they ran in to technology difficulties as the others knew they wouldn't be of much use if that happened. OA was swinging from side to side in his chair in the truck as they watched Jubal and Isobel check their wires and tiny earpieces checking with Kristen that everything was working.
"Since you both are going undercover temporarily on this case, I guess that kinda means that we are in charge on this case?" OA couldn't help the small smirk as he spoke.
Maggie shook her head laughing, he had been going on about this to her since Jubal and Isobel agreed to go undercover to the nightclub. She turned to look at OA "How many times do you want me to tell you that they are still going to be in charge even if they are undercover?."
"They can't make big calls, that has to be on us." OA wasn't giving up on this idea easily.
Jubal looked at OA "I think we would feel much safer if it was Maggie and Stuart in charge." He couldn't resist the chance to tease OA.
"Hey! I am definitely taking offence to that and taking it personally."
"I'm not sure you are meant to take it any other way OA" Tiffany laughed looking at OA, she had grown with the team and now felt a lot more comfortable with the teasing.
Maggie watching Jubal trying to fix the wire under his shirt as Kristen was currently helping Isobel with hers, she stood up walking over to Jubal "Here let me help with that." Maggie didn't have to think twice about it, it's not like her hands hadn't been on Jubal a lot lately and she knew the team would just see it as her helping him. Plus right now OA was too busy playfully arguing with Stuart and Tiffany, who were joking with OA saying they would also feel better if it was Maggie in charge.
Jubal couldn't help the smile as he watched Maggie open one of the buttons on his shirt so that she could fix the wire for him, they needed it be comfortable on him but also be somewhere that it would pick up everything.
"You using this an excuse to have your hands on me Agent Bell?" Jubal kept his voice low while talking to Maggie, the only person at work that knew about them dating was Isobel.
Maggie was adding the tape to the wire making sure that it was tight against Jubal's chest so that it wouldn't be seen through his shirt. "Well you are the one that decided to wear one of your good shirts even though we are at work, I told you wearing one of those is how the team would find out about us." She smirked playfully as she looked up at Jubal closing his shirt button, the only one that could see her actions was Isobel.
"Hey, that is not my fault, blame the fact that I have to go in to a nightclub, that's the only reason that I am wearing one of my good shirts. If it helps you can help me take it off when we get home tonight." Jubal now had a playful smirk as he was trying to ignore the feel of Maggie's hands on his chest and then buttoning his shirt for him.
"Hmm that's going to have to depend on how I feel after having to watch you pretend to be someone else's boyfriend."
"We both know that I only have eyes for one person and come on Isobel is like family."
"Relax babe, I am not upset about it. I just couldn't resist teasing you a little bit." Maggie chuckled softly.
Isobel stepped over to them when Kristen was finished getting her wire set up, she looked at Maggie and Jubal and smiled softly "Okay you ready to get in there?."
Jubal nodded hearing Isobel "Let's do this."
Isobel looked at Maggie and then the team "Any decisions that have to be made go through Maggie while we are inside. Let's hope that we get what we need to close this case, Jubal let's go." Without giving anyone a chance to respond Isobel was stepping out of the truck with Jubal right behind her.
The team took their seats so that they could watch the monitor and Maggie got her coms set up so that Jubal and Isobel could hear her if she needed to warn them about anything. OA was watching Jubal and Isobel walking in to the club together, Jubal had his arm around Isobel's shoulders and she was curled in to his side a little.
"You think that Isobel is who Jubal has been dating?."
Kristen shook her head "No way, we would have noticed if something was going on between them. They are just acting right now."
Maggie was watching the screen, she had no doubts about Jubal's love for her but that didn't mean it was the easiest thing in the world to watch him be close to another woman, even if that woman was their boss. She was thankful that she didn't have to contribute to the conversation as Tiffany was speaking.
"I agree with Kristen, I mean anyone that sees them now will think they are a couple sure, but for those that know them at all, or works with them everyday like we do can see that there is absolutely no chemistry there at all."
"Is anyone going to be on my side about anything tonight?" OA raised an eyebrow playfully looking at the team.
"Try being right about something and we might be on your side." Stuart joked with him playfully.
The team watched the monitors closely as Jubal and Isobel made their way into the VIP area, the two men, the club Owners Sam and Ted were there and they had fallen in to an easy conversation with Jubal. He was there pretending to be a guy with a lot of money that was interested in investing in the new Nightclub with Sam and Ted. He had told them that he knew people that could help the get all their permits signed to speed up the process. Ted and Sam had been in a deal with another man named Adam but the deal had gone bad and Adam had turned up dead three days ago.
Everything that the team had found was leading back to Simon and Ted but they just didn't have the evidence that was needed to arrest them, that was what had lead to them getting Isobel and Jubal to go undercover tonight. Jubal had told them that Isobel was involved with his business as well as being his girlfriend and that was why he had brought her along tonight. Maggie got Kristen to turn up Jubal's mic a little so that they could hear the conversation better. Ted had got distracted by some women in the VIP area but ended up talking to, well flirting with Isobel. While Jubal spoke to Simon about business who was going through his ideas with Jubal and the permits that were currently being held up stopping them from opening the new club.
Maggie noticed some commotion at the door and got Kristen to zoom in before speaking in to the coms so that Jubal and Isobel could hear her "Adam's brother and a few of his friends are headed towards VIP, we think that he might be carrying a gun. We are getting ready just in case."
OA, Stuart and Tiffany put on their own coms and were getting ready to leave the surveillance van and head inside in case things got out of hand. Maggie wanted to stop it straight away as Jubal was in there with no weapon but they also knew that being faced by Adams brother might be the best way to getting a confession. The team listened as Adam's brother and his friends appeared at the VIP section, they had words and Adam pulled a gun on Ted, who confessed within second to killing Adam, he said it was an accident he had only brought the gun to scare Adam into following throug on their deal, but Sam had pulled out said gun pointing it at Adam' brother.
Maggie had lead the team out of the truck the minute that they heard the confession, they could hear two gunshots on their coms and inside the club as they made their way to the VIP section. All Maggie could think about was that she really hoped that Jubal was okay. The team arrived arresting Sam, Ted, Adam's brother and his friends. Thankfully no one had been seriously injured, Ted had a bullet graze but Jubal had pushed him out of the way in time to stop it from killing him. The team lead those in handcuffs out towards the cars waiting outside for them, Maggie turned to look at Jubal.
"Are you okay? You haven't been hit anywhere?" She was running her hands along his chest and arms as the team had left with the men in cuffs.
"I'm fine Mags I promise, the only one that got hit was Ted. Thankfully Adam's brother is a really bad shot, and they broke in to a physical fight rather than use their guns."
"How the hell do you sound so calm? All I could hear was gun shots and all I could think about was hoping that you were oaky." She still had her hand on Jubal's chest.
Jubal smiled resting his hand on top of Maggie's hand on his chest "I know you guys couldn't see and only hear but they really weren't dangerous with the guns baby" he lifted his free hand to her cheek "Simon shot in to the ceiling, turns out none of them actually like guns and hey I knew you would be storming in here with the team any second so I knew it was all good." He smirked playfully as he leaned down kissing Maggie softly.
Maggie smiled kissing Jubal softly and chuckled resting her forehead against his "You know the only reason that I'm forgiving for you scaring the hell out of me like that is because I love you so much."
Jubal laughed hearing Maggie as he ran his hands along her arms slowly "Now you know how I feel every dam time you go out in the field, and considering you are a field agent that's a lot. Thankfully you have a partner that I trust to have your back, otherwise I think I would definitely have had a heart attack by now. And as much as I love you baby I know that the reason you are forgiving me so quickly is because of the two little monkeys who are joining us tomorrow for the weekend." He teased her playfully.
Maggie slapped his arm playfully "Okay that might be a little true, those two adorable kids of yours really do make it very easy to forgive you." She smirked playfully.
"I think I owe them some extra treats this weekend for helping their dad out without even realising." He smirked playfully as he kissed Maggie once more "Come on let's get out of here so that we can get back to the JOC and finished up, and when we get home you can still help me out of this shirt if you want." He had a playful smirk on his lips as he and Maggie left the club to head back to the surveillance truck.
"You are impossible Valentine you know that?" Maggie shook her head laughing, this man really did know how to make her smile and laugh more than anyone else in her life.
Jubal came up behind Maggie wrapping his arms around her kissing her neck "And yet you still love me enough to share a home with me."
"Hmm I must be crazy to do that." Maggie smirked as she kissed Jubal's cheek before he let go of her as they stepped out of the club and made their way towards the surveillance truck.
When they got to the surveillance truck the team were all standing outside it with OA standing smirking at Jubal and Maggie. Maggie raised an eyebrow looking at OA "Why are you looking at us like that?." OA's smirk just grew as he pulled out his ear piece showing it to Maggie and Jubal, they could all hear Maggie "Oh shit."
OA looked way too proud of himself as he let his ear piece fall to his shoulder to hang there "It seems you were too busy checking on your boyfriend to remember that he was still wearing a wire that was connected to the whole team."
"So all of you heard our entire conversation?" Maggie looked at the team as she spoke.
Tiffany shook her head "No me and Stuart took ours out when it sounded like Jubal had kissed you."
Isobel looked at Maggie and Jubal "Mine was already out and I tried to get the other two to remove theirs, but I'm not sure anything would have worked other than threatening to fire them. Sorry."
"But we heard every single thing." OA still smirked as he pointed at him and Kristen.
Maggie didn't have to turn around to know Jubal was smirking a little himself trying to not laugh, she pointed a finger at him over her shoulder playfully "Not helping right now." She shook her head laughing.
Jubal held his hands up laughing as he was standing right behind Maggie now looking over her shoulder at the team before at her again "Hey! Don't blame me I'm not the only one that forgot I was wearing a wire."
"Now we know why you were willing to help set up Jubal's wire so quickly and why you didn't get involved when OA asked if we thought Isobel was who Jubal was dating." Kristen couldn't help but tease both her friends playfully.
"Wait, what? You guys thought that me and Isobel were dating?" Jubal raised an eyebrow looking at the team.
Maggie shook her head looking at Jubal over her shoulder "No just OA, the others didn't agree with him."
"Have to say that you two dating makes a lot more sense" Stuart shrugged his shoulders as he spoke looking at Jubal and Maggie.
"Eh thank you I think" Jubal laughed as he lay his hands on Maggie's upper arms looking at the team "We were planning on telling you guys this weekend, but plans changed so we were going to tell you next weekend."
"Yeah we heard, you have the kids this weekend." OA couldn't shake his smirk as he spoke.
Maggie groaned as she leaned back against Jubal a little "Oh god I'm never going to hear the end of this."
Hearing Maggie groan and seeing her blush a little made the whole team laugh a little as they had never seen her like this. Kristen looked at them both "We have so many questions, but my first question is are you two really living together."
Jubal shook his head laughing "Eh no you can ask Maggie questions the next time you two are together" he laughed even more when Maggie slapped his arm "Fine…Yes, we are living together, I moved in with Maggie about six weeks ago. And as much fun as this is can we finish up back at the JOC."
The team nodded as they all actually wanted to get back to the JOC, Maggie and Jubal stepped up in to the surveillance truck as she opened the top few buttons on his shirt gently taking off the wire setting it to the side. "I can't believe that they heard our entire conversation." She shook her head laughing.
"We were planning on telling them baby, are you okay with them knowing?."
"I don't care about them knowing babe, like you said we were planning on telling them anyway, it's just not how I planned on telling them about us."
Before Jubal could reply OA opened the back of the truck, Kristen was right beside him but he was the one to speak "Could you at least wait until you get home to help him out of his shirt." OA closed the door as he and Kristen could be heard laughing.
Jubal laughed when Maggie groaned and lay her forehead on his shower, he kissed her head "I'm afraid it's going to take a while for them to forget what they heard."
Maggie lifted her head looking at Jubal "You know they are never going to forget babe" she shook her head laughing as she kissed Jubal softly.
