How To Flirt With Your Oblivious Crush

"It's so frustrating!" Shihai grumbled, slamming his hands on the desk.

"Hey, I get it, man. The most oblivious people on the planet are crushes," Juzo chuckled as his best friend vented about the struggles of trying to get Fumikage to get the hint.

Shihai had been crushing on Fumikage ever since he saw the avian teen get third in the Sports Festival. He had attempted getting his attention during the Joint Training 1-A and 1-B had a few months later. But things didn't exactly go as planned.

"You and I share a destiny," Shihai said the Fumikage as he dangled upside down from the shadow of a pipe. He meant that they were basically made for each other since they both have darkness based quirks.

But Fumikage misread the message.

"I see. We're destined to be rivals. Very well."

Shihai felt his heart sink at those words. That was the exact opposite of what he was going for.

Fumikage had then yanked his cape off, revealing his buffed up arms. He then told Shihai he would face him using a new technique - Black Fallen Angel.

Between the sight of Fumikage's finely toned muscles and the sound of his deep, smooth voice say such a cool sounding move, Shihai felt himself blush as a shiver ran through him. "Fallen Angel ... ?" he echoed, completely love struck.

The memory kept playing in Shihai's mind. Granted, after the match, they had set aside the rivalry and became friends. Of course, Shihai wanted to be more. He just had to figure out a way to get Fumikage to realize how he felt about him.

"Sit with him during lunch. You do that sometimes, right? Sit with him during lunch and try flirting with him a bit," Juzo suggested. "But this time, try not to make it as vague as 'You and I share a destiny.'"

"You mean like ... cheesy pick up lines?" Shihai asked.

"If you think that'll work," Juzo replied.

"I don't think so. I doubt that would work on him," Shihai said.

"Then try something else," Juzo said.

"Okay. Let's see what fate has in store for this plan," Shihai agreed.

The next day, during lunch, Fumikage sat down with Mashirao, Mezo, Koji, and Rikido, as per usual. Suddenly, Shihai walked over with Juzo, Togaru, Yosetsu, and Kosei. "Okay if we join you?" Shihai asked, looking a little nervous.

Juzo gave him a nod of encouragement.

Mezo and Mashirao smirked at each other, knowing full well where this was gonna go. Rikido was already struggling not to laugh. Koji just looked at Fumikage to see what he had to say about this. The four boys knew that Shihai had a crush on Fumikage and their friend was just too oblivious to notice. In fact, ALL of 1-A and 1-B know about it. Except Fumikage, of course.

"Yes, of course. Come, sit," Fumikage encouraged, gesturing to the empty chairs next to them.

"Thank you," Shihai said, taking a seat next to Fumikage. The other 1-B boys also took their seats.

Meanwhile, at the 1-A girls' table, Mina's ship detector went off and she looked over at the table. "Girls, we got a Code Edgelords going on."

"KuroYami again, I take it?" Toru asked.

"Yup!" Mina confirmed.

With that, the girls looked over to see what was gonna happen. The girls of 1-B also took notice of what was going on and looked over.

Perhaps this was finally the day Shihai managed to confess.

Back at their table, Shihai was internally panicking. Truth be told, he wasn't the best at talking to people he liked as much as Fumikage. He was currently wracking his brain for a way to flirt with his crush. A way to get his attention. He thought about what he researched earlier since he didn't know much about flirting.

Okay, according to Google, a good way to start is to put a smile on your face, appear cheerful, and give them a simple compliment. I can do that. Sounds basic enough. Shihai told himself. He cleared his throat a little and turned to Fumikage, a small smile on his lips. "Y-Your feathers are looking ... nice today." WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT, YOU IDIOT?! YOU JUST STUTTERED LIKE CRAZY!

Kosei was struggling not to laugh at the awkwardness before him, so Yosetsu elbowed him to get him to quit it.

"Oh, um, thank you, Kuroiro," Fumikage said, smiling a little. He didn't even seem to have noticed the obvious stutter.

He's smiling! That's a good sign! Shihai thought. Okay, what else did Google say? Um ... body language! So ... physical contact? Oh, boy... He nervously looked under the table and spotted Fumikage's hand. Should I ... try to hold it?

Nervously, he looked over at the others and joined his hands together, as if asking if he should go for it.

Juzo and Yosetsu gave a small nod, Juzo's being more vigorous. Kosei gave him a thumbs up. Togaru just shrugged.

Shihai inwardly sighed. He glanced over at Fumikage's hand again before reaching out and carefully taking his hand in his.

Fumikage's body went stiff at the sudden contact. He looked over at Shihai in confusion. "W-What are you ... doing?"

Shihai felt his face grow hot. He silently prayed Fumikage wouldn't notice. He continued to stare at his food. "Just holding your hand. I-Is that okay?"

Fumikage thought about it for a moment. He isn't really one for physical affection. But this ... he didn't mind it as much as he feared he would. "Yes, actually. I don't mind it at all."

Shihai's smile broadened as his heart skipped a beat. "Thank you."

"Of course. What are friends for?"

Shihai felt a pang in his chest. So much for thinking he had a chance.

"Ouch," Mashirao muttered.

"Can we get an F in the chat?" Kosei asked.

"F," everyone at the table (except for Fumikage and Shihai) said.

The girls were still watching. Kyoka and Setsuna were using their quirks to listen in and filling the girls of their classes in on what was being said.

"Ouch. Tsuburaba's right, though. Say 'F' to pay respects," Itsuka said.

"F," the rest of the girls at the 1-B table said in unison. The 1-A girls did the same.

Back at the table, Shihai shot the other boys a look, indicating for them to shut up.

Fumikage, on the other hand, was confused. "F in the chat? Why?"

Mezo closed his eyes lightly massaged his temples. "I don't mean to sound offensive or anything, Tokoyami, but ... you are really oblivious."

"I am?" Fumikage questioned, getting more confused.

Shihai shot Mezo a glare that clearly said "Shut the hell up! Let me confess or be the one to get him to notcie, damn it!"

"Yeah," Mashirao chimed in. "Really oblivious."

"You'll figure it out eventually," Koji assured.

Fumikage grew even more confused.

They're right, you know. Even I know what it is. Dark Shadow scoffed in his head.

If they're implying what I think they're implying, they're wrong. He doesn't see me like that. Everyone knows he likes Komori. Fumikage sadly responded.

You really ARE a dumbass... Dark Shadow said.

Lunch carried on. Shihai continued to drop a compliment or remark that he had considered flirty. This resulted in a quite flustered and flattered Fumikage, but he still didn't get the hint. The boys and girls were finding it both amusing and painful to watch. How could someone be so oblivious?!

The lunch period was now almost over. Shihai still hadn't really made any progress. The other boys gave him looks of sympathy and Juzo even gave him a pat on the back to make him feel better. Shihai sighed to himself. Guess he was gonna have to try again another time.

However, Dark Shadow decided to bring this whole ordeal to an end. "I'm just gonna spell it out for you, Fumikage," she said, slithering out of her host's back. "Shihai Kuroiro, the man you think about every day because you love him with all your heart, likes you back. And yet you refuse to acknowledge it, because you're so convinced he likes Komori instead!"

This immediately got everyone's attention. All of 1-A and 1-B were now watching, waiting to see where this goes.

"D-DARK SHADOW!" Fumikage scolded, his face turning bright red.

Shihai felt his entire body stiffen. This was NOT how he wanted Fumikage to find out. Oh, well. At least the cat was finally out of the bag. "I-It's true, Tokoyami," he finally said. "I genuinely like you. I-I always have. I wish to be more than just friends."

Fumikage couldn't believe what he was hearing. But he knew he had to respond. Problem was, he didn't even know where to start, or how to even put it into words. In fact, his brain had completely stopped working. He let instinct take over. The next thing Fumikage knew, he was leaning in to kiss him.

Shihai noticed this and felt his heart rate speed up. He couldn't believe this was happening! But he went with it. He had been longing for this for a while now. He slowly closed his eyes and cupped Fumikage's cheek, tilting his head to the side. Fumikage's movements matched his as they got closer and closer.

And then it happened.

Their lips connected in a passionate first kiss.

1-A and 1-B erupted into applause and cheering. Dark Shadow squawked a very loud "FINALLY!"

But they didn't hear any of it. They were too lost in the kiss.

Shihai was so happy. His crush liked him back!

And Fumikage vowed to try not to be in so much denial in the future.

Whew! That took longer than I thought it would! Truth be told, I don't know the first thing about flirting, so I had to look it up XD Hope I got it right.
