"Looks like we're in some sort of French aesthetic now." David said.

"This is probably an observation, but I'm noticing a lot of cat-like stuff in this world." Kita said.

"Speaking of cats… David, why don't you have any cat-like people with you?" Aruma asked.

"Doesn't Leopardmon count?" David asked.

"Well, yeah, but… You know what I mean." Aruma said.

"Well, besides the obvious… I already have a relationship with Sectonia, and I don't want her to feel jealous." David said. "I mean, yeah. I know that platonic relationships are a thing, but she knows how much of a cat-lover I am. My time with the Alliance is already pretty much a cat house without them. Bringing actual cat-people along will just add to the madness."

"But you seem to be on good terms with Cheetah and Belladonna for quite some time now. That's gotta count for something." Naomi said.

"Well, yeah. Because, like I said, I'm a cat-lover, so I don't exactly mind feline companionship. But… Some other members actually do mind." David said.

"Mm-hmm… I can see that." Tatsuya said.

"So yeah, as much as I wanted to, I couldn't afford to take my chances bringing cat-people along. And trust me, I really, REALLY wanted to." David said. "Not that I could find any good ones anyway. There were barely any to come by in the worlds we've gone to."

"Hmm… Well, if they would mind, we should probably take it up with Asmodeus sometime." Sachiko said.

"The Demon Lord of Lust? Do you even know what you're saying right now? She would rather charm me over than follow along with it." David said.

"It was just a suggestion. Besides, you wouldn't know for sure unless you met her." Sachiko said.

"I'd probably have to get past a lot of demons that would want to kill me first." David said.

"I think it's best we don't focus on that. Don't worry. We'll figure something out." Sachiko said.

The class reaches the end of the zone where they see a girl named Cass Milligan taking a liking to a kitten she has met one day. However, disaster struck when she saw a car heading towards the kitten. Distraught over the cat's possible death, she runs away in tears as a shadow overtakes her and turns her into a cat-like monster with a spherical body.

"...Come on, guys. We have to help this girl." David said.

"David? Well… Okay, let's do it." Eri said.

The class fought against Cass, with David making use of Zone Speed: The World to nullify her abilities as they managed to defeat her.

"...Thanks, but…" Cass said.

"I know what you're thinking. Your cat might still be alive." David said.

"How…? How can you know that?" Cass asked.

"Let's just say that I have an experience with cats. Cats have very quick reflexes, so there's no way that kitten would just let itself be run over." David said.

"This guy of all people should know. He's got a big cat that always manages to follow him when we're out on our adventures." Sachiko said.

"Well, not so much follow me around as much as we always manage to find each other." David said. "Perhaps it's just destiny."

"Destiny?" Cass asked.

"Yeah. And if you're like me, your cat will find its way back to you too. You just need to have a little faith." David said.

Cass returns to the surface where she sees that the kitten really did survive. The two enjoyed a tender moment together as they embrace the friendship they have.

"You know, that was pretty sweet, the way you did that." Kasumi said.

"What can I say? I am a cat-lover. I know I'd want someone to cheer me up like that if I was still that young and a cat I took care of almost died like that." David said.

"Don't worry, Dave. Your little secret is safe with us." Sachiko said.

"That's...reassuring. But still, thanks." David said. "But will it be safe with the others?"

"Well, that's gonna be debatable, depending on who you ask." Akira said as the group shared a laugh before going to the next world.
