Harry, Terry and Hermione were in the Ravenclaw Common Room, discussing the odd behaviour of Harry's broom. It was nighttime. When Harry had gone to the Ravenclaw Common Room, he had been greeted by celebrations. Butterbear, sweets and all types of food was laid before him as they celebrated their victory. Harry felt very happy. They had won! They celebrated until it was bedtime, yawning and clearing up the mess. Now only Harry and his two best friends were in the Common Room.

"Do you know what happened to my broom?" Harry asked.

"It was probably jinxed," answered Hermione.

"But who would have done it?" asked Terry. "The students aren't powerful enough to do it and the teachers are out of the question." Harry and Hermione looked at each other.

"Maybe Snape did it?" Harry said, tentatively.

"Nah," said Terry, "Dumbledore would have suspected if Snape was up to no good and would probably fired him years ago if he knew Snape was up to no good."

"But Snape still really hates Harry," began Hermione, but Harry interrupted her.

"Terry's right," Harry said, "Snape couldn't have done it. Most of the teachers have been here for a long time so hang on! What if Quirrell jinxed my broom?" Harry was very excited.

"Yeah!" said Terry, "You could control your broom after you knocked him over!" They looked at Hermione.

"Hmm," she said, slowly. "Let's wait until we have some proof." Harry and Terry just rolled their eyes. The next words however, took them off their guard.

"Of course, if we have to catch him, it will be tricky," she said.

"Wonder what's under his turban?" Terry asked, curiously. "I keep whiffing a funny smell whenever I'm near him."

Let's take it off then," said Harry. "Make him trip and unravel it. It can't be for religious reasons because that's not how to tie it up anyway." They planned their little plan to catch Quirrell. They decided to do it tomorrow as they had Defense with him.

The next day they nervously sat in the DADA with the rest of the class, waiting for Professor Quirrell. Harry took out his wand and quietly said, "Accido!" The invisible tripping jinx shot between Harry's desk. Quirrell came and started stuttering off about the best way to defeat a vampire. Hermione stared meaningfully at Harry and Harry knew that the time had come. He raised his hand. Quirrell looked up nervously.

"Y-y e-s-s," He stuttered nervously.

"I was wondering if you could come over here and explain to me something I don't understand," said Harry.

"R-righ-t," Quirrell said, moving his way towards Harry. The instant Quirrel walked towards Harry two things happened at once. Professor Quirrell tripped over the jinx and fell backwards, his turban beginning to unravel. At the same time unbearable pain shot through Harry's head as he clapped his hand to it. He looked at the back of Quirrell's head. His scar had stopped hurting now. He looked at the back of the head. He thought he saw a glimpse of a terrifying face before it was empty. He supposed he imagined the face.

"Sorry," Harry said.

"Quite all right," said Quirrell. Harry stared at him. He had stopped stuttering! He picked up the turban and rewrapped it around his head. He carried in teaching as though nothing happened. The class ended. "Class dismissed." he said. Harry packed his bag and went out of the classroom with Terry and Hermione. They went into a deserted corridor and began to discuss what had happened.

"Did you see he stopped stuttering?" said Terry confusedly, "what was that about?"

"I dunno," said Harry. "I so thought that something was under that turban!"

"I did too," said Hermione. "Are you sure you didn't see something though?"

"Well, I thought I saw a flash of a horrible face," said Harry tentatively, still reliving the moment when he had seen it. "It was all you know, snakelike and he didn't have a nose." When Terry and Hermione looked shocked he quickly said, "I might have imagined it, I only saw it for a second." They continued down the corridor towards the Great Hall for lunch. Halfway through Yorkshire Pudding Harry spotted Hedwig flying towards him holding a letter.

"Hello," Harry said, "Got a letter for me?" He took the letter from Hedwig's leg and read: Dear Harry,

Hope yeh having a good first term.

Got something good to show yeh. Come down to my hut at seven.

Hope yeh well,

Hagrid

Harry finished the letter.

"Who's it from?" asked Hermione.

"Hagrid," answered Harry, "he said he wanted to show me something. Here." He handed over the letter to the other two and began eating again.

"Wonder what's he going to show us?" asked Terry.

"I don't know," said Harry, "but with Quirrel and Flamel, things are really busy. We've still haven't found him!" They finished lunch and went to the library to try and look for Nicholas Flamel. Hermione had suggested asking one of the teachers but Harry and Terry did not want the teachers to know. Meanwhile, their had been a rumour around that someone had tried to get into the forbidden third door corridor. This had only increased their desire to know who Flamel was. Eventually, they packed up and went to lessons.

Harry, Terry and Hermione made their way towards Hagrid's hut at seven o'clock. They reached the front paddock where enormous vegetables grew. Harry saw the pink umbrella leaning on the fence. The windows around the hut were drawn and a merry blazing fire could be seen. They knocked and Hagrid cautiously opened the door.

"Come in then," he said opening the door. "Quickly!" They had barely crossed the threshold before Hagrid closed the door with a snap. They looked around. Opposite of a ginormous bed stood the fire, crackling like popcorn. There was a table in the middle and several cupboards to the side of the window in the doorway. A dog jumped up from its basket and ran towards them licking Harry's hand. It slobbered drool all over Harry's robes. "Out of the way Fang," Hagrid said, pushing Fang out of the way. Hagrid opened the cupboard and took out four mugs. He poured tea for them all.

"What are you going to show us, Hagrid?" asked Harry curiously.

"Gotta a good surprise," said Hagrid excitedly. "Yeh will love it!" He took out a drapes round sort of thing. "Look, a Dragon egg!" he said ecstatically. "Isn't it wonderful!"
Harry, Hermione and Terry all looked at the Dragon egg. It was purely black.

"You can't do this, Hagrid, what if you're caught?" Harry and Hermione all looked at Terry for support but Terry was talking with Hagrid enthusiastically.

"Its a Norwegian Ridgeback isn't it? Ooo, I always wanted to see one," said Terry. Harry and Hermione took this as a lost cause. Suddenly, cracks began to appear.

"Ah, look, it's hatching!" Hagrid said excitedly. A head poked out. It had a black scales all over it. It let out a tiny roar which caused Hermione who was holding a mug to shriek. Harry heard the Dragon say, "Where am I?"

"It spoke!" Harry yelled. The others all stared at him.

"What yeh talking about?" asked Hagrid.

"Never mind," said Harry, knowing they wouldn't believe him.

"I'll name you Norbet," said Hagrid happily.

"No! Norberta! Norberta!" yelled the Dragon. But Hagrid didn't understand.

"Come to mummy now, Nobert come on, Nor-owww!" The Dragon had bitten him.

They chatted for awhile, Terry and Hagrid doting on the Dragon and feeding it with chicken and beef when eventually it was getting late and they had to go back to the Castle. Harry, Hermione and Terry set off, the latter very excitedly describing the Dragon.

"Its so cool isn't it," exclaimed Terry.

"Hagrid lives in a wooden hut, Terry," reminded Hermione.

"Then we'll just find a home for it," said Terry brightly. They climbed over the grounds and headed back into the castle. So now they had a Dragon to deal with and Flamel. Harry hoped that they would find out who he was.

Harry got his wish the very next day. He was strolling down the seventh floor corridor to let off some steam after a particular hard Charms lesson. He wished he could find out who Nicholas Flamel was. It was like a fly who wouldn't go away, buggering him. He strolled three times across the corridor. On his fourth stroll the most astounding thing happened. A door suddenly appeared opposite a tapestry picturing a troll teaching ballet. Harry looked at the door, amazed. He opened the door and looked inside. There was a large, spacious room which was lined with books. What was this place? In an instant, a large banner appeared saying 'this is the Room of Requirement. Use it well.' Harry made his way towards the books. It all seemed to be about.. Nicholas Flamel. He grabbed a book which read: Magical Artefacts of The Magical World. he could have a comfy chair. Instantly, one appeared for him. He decided that he would test this room's limits after he had finished reading this. He looked up the index and flipped to a page which read The Philosopher's Stone. He read:

It can be argued perhaps that the Philosopher's Stone is one of the greatest inventions in the art of the subject, Alchemy. This stone, which was invented by the celebrated alchemist, Nicholas Flamel has existed since the fifteen century. Over the years, several reports of a Philosopher's stone has been reported but the one only currently known, is Nicholas Flamel's.

The Philosopher's stone has several properties. First, it has the ability to turn anything into gold and second, the legendary Elixir of Life. The 'Elixir of Life' can produce a drink which is said to be once drunk, completely immortal. While Mr. Flamel had not been seen publicly, we can assure you that this stone does exist by Albus Dumbldore, a good friend of Flamel's. According to Mr. Dumbledore, Flamel is in excellent condition along with his wife Perenelle Flamel. We wish Mr Flamel a very happy 665th birthday and a 668th one to Mrs Flamel.

When Harry finished reading he was very excited! The Philosopher's Stone was hidden at Hogwarts, in the forbidden third door corridor! This was the grubby package at Gringotts Hagrid had taken. This was the package that had been attempted to be stolen! Harry placed the book back and decided to test the room. In the end, Harry found the limits: It could not make food, duplicate magical objects or things that did not exist. Harry found a lot of other things that it could do. For one thing, it seemed like Norbet could be kept here. He made a mental note to tell Hagrid about this room. Harry carefully opened the door and stepped out, closing the door behind him. It instantly dissolved into a stone wall again. He set off, intending to find Hermione and Terry.
