"Sam? What are you doing here?" Jack asked, in shock.
The lady took a sip of her mixture. She answered, "Not my fault, I promise."
The man noticed she had a ponytail and was physically different. And like Jack, she had a wedding ring. So, they were married and had two sons? How could it be possible that Jack didn't remember anything? As for Sam, she didn't look perturbed at all. On the contrary, she was glowing.
Sam continued the explanation, walking to her husband, "I woke up because our little girl woke me up."
She put her left hand on her growing belly. Jack understood, in shock once again, that she was physically different because she was pregnant. About five months?
"She's kicking you hello." Sam informed, smiling. She grabbed her husband's right hand to make him feel the baby's moves.
"Wow!" Jack reacted.
Indeed, the baby was energetic. The experience was strange although it seemed so real to Jack.
"Let's hope she'll be more calm when she's born, otherwise, she'll drive us crazy." Sam sighed. Then, she thought, and said, "How about Allison?"
"Uh… Sounds great!" Jack approved, but honestly, he was too confused by the scene. He couldn't focus on a discussion about baby names right now.
Sam grinned, pleased to hear Jack supporting her idea. She took a sip of her drink.
So, Jack married Sam, who gave him two sons and was going to give him a daughter. They were living in a lovely house. Sam looked blessed. Jack wondered if he had ever seen her so happy.
As much as he was liking the scene, he couldn't forget that everything was actually wrong in that scene. Sam not being disconcerted was itself disconcerting.
"Sam, what's all this?" Jack queried, pointing out the kitchen.
"It's the kitchen, honey. You want to redecorate it?" Sam replied with a teasing tone.
Jack couldn't believe Sam's reaction. "I know what a kitchen looks like. Nothing's perturbing you, Sam? You're supposed to be in Atlantis!"
Sam drank the greenish thing again. "Yeah, that was a long time ago..." she answered, nostalgic. She smirked, realizing, "Oh, oh, did you have a dirty dream about us in Atlantis this night?"
Jack didn't insist. Everything in the scene seemed to be normal but him. The general preferred to stop his questions before Sam gets suspicious.
"I dreamt you were in Atlantis... And Homer Simpson broke a generator..." Jack lied.
In fact, he did have once a fantasy dream about Sam and him in Atlantis. Jack was meeting in secret Sam in her office, in the middle of the night. The rest of the rooms and hallways around Sam's office were empty. The lady in charge was waiting for Jack, standing at her desk, in her Atlantis uniform. Jack entered the room. Sam smirked, clearly having a plan in mind. She opened her jacket. No shirt but underwear beneath the jacket. Jack lost his rationality. He walked to Sam, grabbed her, and kissed her, while his left arm was brushing off the items on Sam's desk behind to make more room for their... The Homer Simpson version was more reasonable.
Jack warmly cuddled Sam, to cover his weird behavior and also because he wanted to hug her. He felt another baby's kick on his waist.
Sam ended the hug, to inform Jack, "You should get dressed. Sergeants Monroe and Fox should be here soon. I'll make you tea and waffles."
Little Patrick reminded the adults they weren't alone, as he exclaimed, "Mommy, have waffle?"
His brother repeated the word waffle.
"You want waffles?" Sam said, approaching her sons.
"Yes! And kiss!" Patrick and William responded.
The kids stretched out their arms, as if they were going to hug Sam. Their mother couldn't resist. She kissed the boys and confirmed she was going to prepare waffles for them. She went back to the high table and took the plastic bowl containing the preparation for the waffles. Jack could focus now on the plates on that table. The bowl, a roasted chicken, pasta with a tomato sauce and cherish tomatoes, sausages, and ingredients to bake a tuna cake. Jack looked at Sam, curious.
She explained, smiling, "The chicken and the cake are for our dinner tonight with Andy and Lisa. I'll bring you the pasta and sausages for lunch."
"When did you make all this?"
"I started yesterday, remember? I finished this morning. When you wake up at 5:30, you have time to kill."
Sam had been cooking and taking care of twins, while bearing a baby's kicks since 5:30 a.m. She didn't look tired and she was smiling.
Jack was a bit scared. "Sam, are you high?"
"I don't know. Maybe?" Sam joked, raising her greenish mug. "This stuff's efficient!"
Sam sipped again and got back to her waffle mission. The boys requested a kiss from their father before he could leave the kitchen.
