Ezra's point of View
It wasn't easy, but I managed to find a place to make a private phone call. With my mother now human, she wouldn't be able to hear my conversation. And since my dad stepped out to talk with grandpa Charlie he would be distracted. It's now or never. I had to reach out to the man who may be the father of my child. He had the right to know. I just hoped that this wouldn't change anything.
I sat up on the roof of my parents house, snow was falling lightly in the sky. The sun was completely covered by the clouds, making the sky look grey and lifeless. My heart was beating hard in my chest as I dialed his number. Part of me was hoping that he wouldn't answer his phone.
But after three rings I heard his smooth rich voice. "I told you never to call me." He said quietly. He already sounded angry.
"It's important," I said just as quiet as him.
"Well be quick, your sister is on her way here, right now." He sighed.
"I'm pregnant…"
The other end of the phone went quiet for a brief time. I was worried for a minute that he had hung up on me. But to my relief he eventually replied.
"Listen, no matter who the father is… I'm not the father. Do you understand what I'm saying?" He spoke gently.
I was hurt by his words. He really was saying that he would deny this child, even if it was his child.
"I understand what you're saying, loud and clear." I snapped, feeling tears sliding down my cheeks. Now more than ever I hoped that Austin was the father. At least when my baby grew up and asked where their father is, I could tell them that their father had passed away, but Austin would have loved them so much. Instead of telling my baby that their father didn't want anything to do with them.
"Ezra, look it's nothing personal. We made a stupid mistake. There is no way this child is mine. We only had sex once. And I'm pretty sure we used protection." Daniel spoke even quieter.
"Daniel we were so drunk that night, there is no way to know for sure if we used protection. Would you really turn your back on this baby? If it is yours." I said wiping at my tears.
"It isn't my baby. Are we understood?" He spoke with a tense edge to his voice. "I'm hanging up." Was all he said, before his end of the line went dead.
I groaned as I stuffed my phone back into my pocket. I hadn't been expecting this. Daniel was such a nice, honest man. I found it hard to believe that he would really deny this child, if it was his. I knew that he was deeply in love with Kora, but maybe she would be understanding.
Who was I kidding, Kora would walk out of Daniel's life in a heartbeat and she would never forgive me. I was in an awful situation. I just hoped this baby was Austin's. I didn't want to hurt my sister. Or mess up her relationship with Daniel.
It was beginning to get really cold, so I decided to make my way back inside the house. I was getting tired, I wanted to just lock myself up in my old room and take a nap. I usually felt better after taking a nap. But something tells me that nothing was going to make me feel better. I eased myself back into the house through the open window in my room. Waiting for me inside was my mother, who was sitting at the edge of my bed. A look of concern was on her face.
"Ezra, you shouldn't be out in the cold. You don't want to get sick do you?" She responded, standing up to analyze every inch of me.
My heart was pounding hard in my chest. My anxiety began chewing at my insides. Had she heard that entire phone conversation I had with Daniel. Did she know that the child could possibly be Daniel's? Was she just acting like she hadn't heard a thing.
"M-mom I'm fine, no need to worry so much. I'm not completely human like you are. You should be more worried about yourself." I said gently.
Her eyes brightened as she tucked a piece of my messy hair behind my ear. "Come on Ez, let's go watch a movie. I'm ordering pizza."
"Aw, I thought dad was cooking." I pouted as the two of us made our way down the stairs and into the living room.
My dad was a fantastic cook, he didn't cook dinner for us as often as mom did, but when he did cook it was always a treat. He had knowledge of a bunch of different cuisine from other countries. He always made the most delicious food. My mother was different. The kind of meals that she made were very traditional, they were comfort meals. You could predict from a day to day basis of what she was going to make. As much as we all loved her cooking, it was always nice to get a bit of variety here and there. That's where my father came in.
"He has to head back to the doctor's office, then to the jail. He will probably be home a little later." She said with a look of sadness in her eyes.
I'm sure she would have preferred going with him, but she was stuck here watching over me. It didn't make sense anymore. I was no stronger than here… I would be the one protecting her. Maybe that was my father's thoughts. I was here to watch over mom now, until he gets back home.
I just hope nothing bad happens. I wouldn't be very much help against any vampires or werewolves for that matter.
For now I had to push my personal worries to the side. I just had to focus on getting through this pregnancy in one piece. I would worry about the baby daddy drama when the baby is born.
Demetri's Point of View
Brady would pay for what he has done to Bella. I would be sure that he wouldn't leave this jail. He would know the real meaning of agony when I was done with him. I just had to wait for the right moment, when I was alone with the idiot.
Charlie had cleared out one of the big cells, he transported a nice bed into the cell and constructed a tiny kitchen. He completely turned the cell into a low quality motel room. It was much nicer than Brady deserved in my opinion. He committed assault on an innocent person, he should be seeing jail time for his crime. Unfortunately Bella wasn't interested in pressing charges.
At the back of the cell there was a small metal door leading to an enclosed yard. So, Brady is able to have access to outside any time he wishes. Of course the yard is completely closed off from the rest of the world. There are high metal walls, the walls kept the inmates in and anything on the outside unable to come into the jail.
We didn't know what Brady was capable of yet, so he would be closely monitored at all times. I personally decided that I would take the first shift of watching Brady.
Charlie was sitting peacefully at the warden's desk, flipping through a fishing catalog. I paced the hall, watching between our three prisoners. A vampire that seems to know Victoria very well, he had been trespassing in Bella's home. The name that he gave us was Laruent. Then there was Austin's drunk mother, Stacie. She was a wretched woman, she had enough body odor to create an invisible barrier between her cell and everyone else. The closest we got to her, was to simply pass her meals along. She had been going through a nasty detox from alcohol, which made her even more repulsive to deal with.
Now we had Brady here. This was probably the most prisoners we held at once. Ribbonwood was usually a crime free place, we had our usual drunks but there were no violent crimes.
"What are we waiting for, let's start getting answers from Brady." I said turning a scowl towards Charlie.
"Patience boy, we are waiting for the doctor to get here, we need to run tests on him." Charlie grumbled, not even looking up from his paper.
"Darius is going nowhere near that… that… monster." I growled, throwing daggers in Brady's direction.
Charlie sighed, shaking his head slowly. "It's not Darius that's coming. Edward has brought in a new doctor to join our community. They will be taking over with Brady's tests."
I couldn't help but roll my eyes. Edward was always coming up with stupid ideas. Now he would be bringing an outsider into the community. That's the last thing we need. Another unpredictable person to keep our eyes on.
"Hey, you two jackasses, I need a drink of water." Stacie bellowed out from her cell.
Charlie and I didn't even look in her direction. I sure as hell didn't plan on getting the old hag a drink. Charlie was a better man than I was. He stood up rigidly, snagging a water bottle out of his personal cooler and walked over to Stacie's cell.
She put her trembling hand out through the bars and took the bottle from Charlie roughly. Without hesitation she started drinking it as fast as possible. In just seconds she had the whole thing finished.
"Drinking that fast is going to make you vomit." Charlie sighed, shaking his head in disappointment.
"Who cares, if I puke my guts out one of your little boys will come in and clear it up." Stacie smirked at him.
"That's no way to act," Charlie glared towards her. "With that kind of behavior you won't be seeing your grandchild anytime soon."
Stacie's brows shot up, a look of confusion on her face. "What are you talking about? Are you suggesting my Austin knocked up one of the town hoes?"
"Not that it is your business, but Ezra is pregnant. It's obvious that the child must be Austin's." I said moving to stand next to Charlie.
Stacie started laughing now, to the point of tears sliding down her cheeks. "Oh I see, it looks like the innocent little Ezra Cullen has been seeing other men while seeing my son. I didn't think that she had it in her. I'm impressed."
"What are you talking about? The baby is Austin's, there is no way Ezra would do something like that. She's a good girl." Charlie snapped.
"Impossible. I personally paid for Austin to get a vasectomy years ago. Austin had no wish for children, ever. It was his choice, one that I supported completely. My son couldn't be the father." Stacie said with a wide smile.
Charlie and I looked at each other for a moment, before we turned our backs on Stacie and made our way back to the warden's desk.
"She has to be lying," Charlie said quietly.
"I don't know… she really didn't seem like she was lying. But if that's the case… I wonder who the father is." I said with a frown.
"Come on, Ezra is a good girl. It can't be true."
"We don't know the circumstances yet, let's just relax until we get the whole story." I said shrugging my shoulders.
There was just the slightest of footsteps heard above us, ending our conversation as Edward appeared down the stairs with a gorgeous woman following directly behind him.
This woman may be the most beautiful woman I ever laid eyes on. Her skin was a gorgeous caramel, with eyes of topaz. Her hair was long with delicate ebony curls.
"Edward, I'm assuming this is the new doctor." Charlie said with an awkward smile. He put his hand out towards the lovely female.
"Doctor Mila Roberts, this is Charlie Swan, my father-in-law." Edward said with a polite nod.
I watched as the beauty shook hands with Charlie with one of the most charming smiles I've ever seen.
"It's a pleasure to meet you." She spoke so gently.
She was lovely.
"And this is Demetri, who unfortunately is Darius' biological father." Edward said with distaste in his voice.
I immediately moved to stand in front of Mila offering her my hand as well. I eagerly wanted to feel her skin. Any bit of contact would make my day entirely.
"Demetri, I've heard a lot about you." Mila said, not moving an inch to take my hand. Her gaze turned cold. "I'd rather not officially meet you."
With that she walked briskly past me and in the direction of Brady's cell. Her coldness brought a tremor of arousal to hit me. I adjusted my trousers and followed after her.
"I wouldn't press your luck." Edward smirked, walking with me. "I've known Mila for a while, she is a hard woman to win over."
"Well as long as Bella is out of the picture, I'm sure I can seduce Mila. It should only take me about twenty four hours." I said with a grin.
I enjoyed the challenge.
"You are more vulgar than Edward described somehow." Mila glared in my direction, before turning her sights on Brady. "Now, allow me inside this cell to tend to my patient."
"Just be very careful, he is dangerous. It appears that he finds the blood of vampires to be his choice of sustenance." Edward said, watching Brady with guarded eyes.
Charlie unlocked the cell doors and allowed Mila to enter alone. This situation made me anxious. I didn't know what Brady was capable of. All I knew was Bella almost was killed. Instead he stripped her of her immortality.
I watched close to her every move. I wouldn't let Brady claim another breath-taking woman.
"To get a better understanding of all of this, I'd like to do some… experiments. Is there a willing vampire nearby that would allow Brady to bite them?" Mila asked, turning to look between Edward and Charlie.
"Why not throw our new little friend Laurent in here with Brady? We already got all the information we need out of him." I said with a grin.
"That's actually a great idea. There was no way we could allow him to leave alive. He knows too much about our town." Charlie nodded in agreement.
Edward nodded as well, but kept completely quiet as Charlie and I went to Laurent's cell.
Laurent made no move to fight against us, he was pretty weak from lack of feeding. He didn't even bother making eye contact with us, all he did was look down at his feet. He accepted his fate. We used to keep his hands bound, but it only took a few mere hours for him to completely give up.
We gave him a little push into Brady's cell and locked the door behind him.
Mila looked over Laurent for a moment, before taking his hand and walking him over to Brady. "Hello Brady, I understand you don't want to stay very long in this place. So, as long as you do everything I say, you will be out of here in no time."
Brady smiled widely. "Alright, I think I can manage that."
I could see Brady noticed Mila's beauty instantly, every man in this room could see it. The only one that didn't seem completely bewitched by this woman was Edward. But everyone knew that Edward only had eyes for Bella, it's always been only her. It was the only respectable thing about that fool.
"Alright, Brady I'd like you to bite Laurent, right on the wrist. Don't kill him. Just drink a small amount." Mila instructed.
Laurent's expression turned into a look of discomfort. He turned away, refusing to look in Brady's direction. He remained silent.
"I'll certainly try." Brady said with a nod.
We all watched with fascination as Brady walked calmly over to Laurent, took a hold of his arm and slowly brought Laurent's wrist up to his mouth. It appeared that he could easily sink his teeth through his skin and began slowly feeding.
Mila allowed about one full minute before telling Brady to stop, which he was able to do with ease. He let Laurent's arm fall from his hands and took one step back.
Laurent held his wrist with a look of pain coming to his face. In seconds he began to lose his balance, he appeared dizzy and disoriented. Finally he dropped to the floor, unable to stand on his feet.
Mila watched closely, she seemed to be completely focused on Laurent for the moment. "Laurent, what are you feeling right now?"
"I feel like I'm in transition again, but it's not quite the same. The burning feeling isn't as harsh, but I also feel weak, my body feels so heavy that I can barely stand." He said as his eyes began to shut.
"And how do you feel Brady?" Mila asked, looking to Brady with a tiny smile.
"Energized, as if I have just woken up from a really nice nap." He answered with the shrug of his shoulders. "His blood was okay, but nothing like Bella's."
I could hear Edward's growl beside me, and noticed his hands balled into fists around the bars of the cell door. He looked pissed, but he didn't comment. His restraint always impressed me.
I on the other hand found his statement impossible to ignore.
"You better keep Bella out of your thoughts. If you touch her again I'll kill you myself." I growled in his direction.
"That's enough bothering my patient." Mila snapped at me, glaring in my direction. "All the information he gives me is going to help with my research. I need to know everything."
She was a woman with quite a personality. I liked that. Rosalie used to be the same way, it was one of her best qualities. But after having children to raise, I found that she has become a hollow shell of the former woman I was interested in. She was more patient, and understanding. She didn't share her opinions anymore. There was no fight in her. Perhaps only when it came to Elijah's little wolf girl, Leah.
Laurent's sudden sharp inhale got all of our attention. His hand immediately went to his chest. His breathing sped up as he moaned in pain.
"What's happening Laurent?" Mila asked, moving to watch his every move.
"My chest… hurts… really bad. I feel like I can't catch my breath." He responded between his struggled breathing.
"Interesting," Mila muttered, pulling her stethoscope out and quickly putting it over Laurent's heart. She listened closely for nearly three minutes, before turning around to the rest of us.
"His heart has started to beat," The look on her face was full of amazement and excitement. "He is officially alive."
Brady's jaw dropped as he backed further away from us. "I-I turned a vampire into a human…" He looked terrified. "Does that mean that Bella…"
"Yes, she is human." Edward spoke up quietly. I could tell that he wasn't completely upset with this. I truly believed that this was what Edward wanted for Bella. He never wanted her to be a vampire, it wasn't the life that she deserved. He wanted more for her. We both did. But I was the selfish one, I wanted to have her for eternity. I didn't want our love to die after only seventy years or so. I didn't want to worry about her getting sick, or getting hurt.
"I'm so sorry, please tell her how sorry I am. I never meant to do anything to hurt her… or take away her immortality." Brady said with a look of sorrow. "Please forgive me."
"Don't worry about that now Brady, our work here isn't done." Mila reminded him gently. "Maybe what you have done can be undone."
Laurent was so distracted, as he looked at himself. It's been nearly ten minutes now and his eyes turned to a dark brown, his dark skin lost it's dusty pallor. He appeared completely human. This seemed to scare him.
"Turn me back." He looked to each of us with desperation.
Mila nodded. "You heard the man Brady, time to bite him again."
Laurent held his other wrist out to Brady quickly. "Hurry up kid, before I die of old age." He sounded incredibly impatient.
Brady frowned, but did as Laurent said. He strolled over to him, took his wrist and began to feed from him once again. This time, Brady's face went sour. He turned away and forced the blood down his throat with one hard swallow.
"That was disgusting." Brady mumbled, backing away from Laurent. "The worst thing I've ever tasted. I guess human blood isn't an option."
But Laurent didn't appear to have the same reaction. He instantly started to scream. He fell onto his side as his body began to tremble harshly. He began to foam at the mouth as he had a huge seizure. The way his body thrashed against the ground of the cell was unsettling for me. He moved like a fish out of water. No one made a move to assist him.
After his seizure, Laurent appeared to be unconscious, but still breathing.
"Let's just wait and see what happens." Mila suggested with a bright smile in our direction. "This is the most interesting thing I've ever witnessed."
It was almost as if she was getting a thrill out of this entire thing. It was incredibly sexy. Maybe Mila was a bigger monster than me. She was a mad scientist. Uncaring towards all of those who go through her harsh experiments.
Time went by slowly, it felt like we were waiting forever, until finally after about an hour, Laurent's heart stopped beating again, he was dead. He died a human. He didn't get turned back into a vampire. He was just gone.
"Now we learned something. Brady can cause vampires to turn human. But he can't turn them back into vampires." Mila said as she carried Laurent's dead body out of the cell. She laid him down at our feet. "Now, I need a human, that was not created by Brady. I'd like to see what would happen."
"I'm not really sure we could find a human willing to experiment with their life." Charlie said with a slight frown.
"What about Stacie? She was born human. She is just in the other cell. We wouldn't have to put up with her disgusting behavior any longer if things work out." I said shrugging my shoulders.
"We couldn't allow Brady to bite her against her will. She is in here for her crimes, but it's not a death sentence." Edward said, giving me a cold stare.
"Why don't we ask her at least?" Mila said with a calm smile. "If she doesn't consent, we will just find someone else that's willing."
"Let me go ask, out of everyone here, I think she likes me the most." I said with a smug grin.
"I'm sure," Edward said, rolling his eyes. "Well, it looks like everything's under control here. I need to get back home to Bella." He looked to Charlie, giving him a smile and a pat on the shoulder.
"Alright, be careful on your way back." Charlie said with a smile of his own.
"If you need anything Mila, just give me a call." Edward said nodding to Mila.
"Of course, I'll talk with you a little later Edward, thank you." She said watching between the three of us standing outside of the cell.
I could see the reluctance on Edward's face as he turned to me. His expression was blank, but I could see the distaste in his eyes. "Don't do anything stupid." Was all he said before turning his back and walking away.
That guy just got on my nerves. It's bad enough that he stole the love of my life and my son, now I have to live in the same place as him, see him every day… and he is now somehow my boss. I didn't like it. Not one bit. But I had plans of my own for Ribbonwood.
"Well Demetri, why don't you head over and ask Stacie for consent to experiment on her?" Mila said, folding her arms across her chest.
"Are you kidding? Why don't we just do it? Her son is dead. She is never going to change her ways. As soon as she is released she will be out on the streets prostituting again. Forget consent." I said shrugging my shoulders.
"You heard Edward, she is human, she has rights. We need consent before doing something like this." Charlie spoke up.
"Edward isn't here. And this would only be improving the community. She is one of the biggest drug dealers in Ribbonwood." I argued. "Do you really want to bring up little Greg with so much drugs and prostitution on the streets?"
"I wouldn't want to raise little Greg believing that no one gets second chances and women don't have rights. She committed a crime, and she should be in jail. But she doesn't deserve to die." Charlie said, shaking my head.
I was beginning to realize that it was pointless to argue with him. He was a lot like Edward, full of justice and honor. It was impossible to corrupt Charlie.
"Fine, I'll just go talk with her." I grumbled, walking away from Brady's cell. Stacie's cell was at the end of the hall. You could smell the body odors within a foot from the cell door.
Stacie was seated on her bed, flipping through the newspaper. She didn't move as I approached the cell. "Fifty dollars for an hour." Was all she said.
"I'm not here as a client today Stacie." I sighed.
She glanced up from her paper. "Oh it's you, never mind then, that would be five hundred for an hour." She smirked at me.
"Tempting but not today. Afraid I'm here to offer you a deal."
I knew Stacie well. She was a complete sucker when it came to the word deal. She rarely ever turned down any deal made to her. She couldn't resist. I just hoped that she would say yes to this deal as well. I wanted her dead. I always have. She was a stain on this community.
"Well let's hear it," Stacie said eagerly, putting the newspaper down to give me her full attention. "What's this deal?"
"How would you like to be immortal?" I asked smoothly. "Free of charge. Completely legal."
"Like, becoming a vampire?" She sounded hesitant.
"Yeah," Now I was nervous.
"Are you kidding, I've been wanting to get turned since I found out about vampires existing. But because of Cullen's rules no one was allowed to turn me. How do you plan on doing this legally?" Stacie wondered.
"Well, the rules state that a vampire can't turn innocent humans. Well… we have a friend here that isn't a vampire, but he can possibly turn you into one." I said slowly.
"Possibly? You don't sound too confident about that." Stacie frowned. "If he isn't a vampire, then what is he?"
"A hybrid, both vampire and werewolf. There is a fair possibility that his bite could turn you into a vampire."
"So there is a chance that it might not work?"
"Yeah possibly… it might work or it might kill you. Are you willing to try your odds, I know you enjoy a good gamble?"
Stacie was quiet for a moment, she seemed to really think hard. This was the first time I ever saw Stacie really attempt to rationalize something. Usually she throws caution to the wind and just jumps into anything without a second thought. Maybe the detox from alcohol was helping her think more clearly. Although it was bad timing for her to regain some intelligence. We need to keep this experiment going.
"I'll do it. If I survive, maybe I can get my life straightened out. If I die… Well at least I'll be reunited with my son in the afterlife." She gave me a somber expression.
"Thank you for doing this," I said before looking over to Charlie and giving him the thumbs up.
Mila and Charlie walked Brady to Stacie's cell. They unlocked it and only Brady and Mila entered. Charlie and I stayed on the other side of the cell doors. If anything happened we would be right here. No one would be escaping.
"Go ahead Brady, just like what you did with Laurent." Mila encouraged.
Brady looked concerned, but he did what he was asked. He approached Stacie slowly and carefully took her wrist to his mouth and began to suck her blood. It was only for a minute, and when he let go Stacie instantly got the effects of his venom.
Stacie shrieked, backing up against the wall of the cell and slowly slid down to the floor. She sat there, shutting her eyes tightly.
"Tell me how you feel Stacie?" Mila asked calmly.
"I feel like I'm being burned alive," She choked out. "The heat is so intense, I feel like I might pass out."
"We are all here for you just hang on." Mila said with a smile. "I'm a well trained professional. I won't let anything bad happen to you."
Mila's words seemed to comfort Stacie slightly, but she continued to roll around on the floor and scream in agony. In my opinion, it looked like she was going through a normal vampire transformation… until she began to sweat profusely. Her eyes began to change colors rapidly. They went from her normal human eye color brown, to crimson red, then to a strange yellow. This change in color repeated constantly. But that's not the worst of it. Within the next several hours Stacie's bones began to break and twist, morphing her into an unrecognizable being. This was very similar to a wolf's transformation.
Her body had shifted into a wolf, then back into a human form nearly a hundred times in a few hours. I wasn't sure how much more pain she would be able to endure. I didn't know if this was ever going to stop. But finally she appeared to stay in a human form for a full hour. Now she only appeared to be battling the vampire transformation. Her body trembled, she was sweating but her voice was so strained from screaming that she no longer had a voice. She opened her mouth to yell, but nothing came out.
For the first time, I actually pitied Stacie. As vile as she was… I don't think she deserved to be tortured. I was only hoping that it would put her to a quick death. This was getting hard for me to watch. Charlie already had to leave hours prior. He was replaced with Emmett and Seth. I wanted to leave too, the only reason that I stayed was to watch over Mila and make sure that nothing happened to her.
Mila and I now were in the cell together with Stacie, while Emmett and Seth stayed outside of the cell. They refused to watch any of this. They stayed at the warden's desk.
Mila lightly dabbed Stacie's head with a cold washcloth. "To be honest, I can't believe that you stayed for all this. It takes a pretty stone cold person to watch this." She glanced at me.
"Well, maybe I am stone cold, but that would mean you are the same as me." I smirked at her.
"The difference is the pain that I bring to people is to help them in the long run. You hurt people for your own selfish desires. So in that regard we are very different." She snipped.
"Are you suggesting that you don't find pleasure in the screams of agony? It doesn't thrill you?" I said looking towards her.
Her body seemed to shiver slightly, but she kept her expression stoic. "No I certainly don't, seeing my patient's in pain is agonizing for me."
I couldn't hold back my smile. "I don't believe that, I can see a dark side to you, maybe from a not so nice human life that you suffered through. It's easy to see, because I recognize the look in your eyes. I've seen it in myself. We are more alike than you think."
Mia ripped her eyes away from me. "I don't need a therapist, if that's all you will be good for, you can leave."
I must have hit a nerve with her.
"Easy, I'm here to help in any way you need… any need at all." I winked at her. With a bit of courage I reached my hand out and slid it down her back.
Eagerness struck me when she didn't move away from my touch. My hand moved down to her ass, and I lightly gave it a squeeze. She had an incredible body.
Mila quickly gave me a hard shove. "I'd appreciate it if you kept your hands off me." Her voice was hostile, but her body language was screaming for me to fuck her.
Judging by the force of her push I gathered the idea that she was really would be no way to force her into anything. She could for sure kick my ass if I even tried. I would eventually win her over with my charms. I didn't know a woman in Ribbonwood that would ever say no to me. Except for Bella of course.
"I'll keep that in mind." Mila said simply, before turning her complete attention back to Stacie.
Stacie had grown quiet, but you could still see the rise and fall of her chest. Her crimson eyes flashed around the room with precision like speed.
"Stacie, what are you feeling right now?" Mila asked, studying every inch of Stacie.
"The burning is gone… I just feel really different. The entire world looks different." She spoke, but her voice didn't sound the same. Her voice sounded softer, with a much higher pitch.
"Can you stand?" Mila continued.
In a flash Stacie was up on her feet, she was so fast that I barely was able to keep up with the movement.
"I've never felt so good. I don't ache, I have no desire for alcohol. My head is clear. I feel that I do have a purpose." A brilliant smile appeared on her face.
Mila went ahead and took her vitals, she got blood samples and urine samples on Stacie. Stacie looked as though she was a full blooded vampire. However, her heart was still beating, she had all the functions of a human. I've never seen anything like it. She was closer to being a super human than being a vampire, she had no interest in blood, from humans or vampires. She still had an appetite for human food. In fact her appetite was much greater than it had been before.
"Does this mean I can finally get out of this cell?" Stacie asked with a hopeful look on her face.
"No way, you still have to stay in here to finish out your sentence." I said folding my arms across my chest. "You are staying in here for quite a while longer."
This seemed to really anger Stacie. She was trembling violently as she glared at me. Her whole body was buzzing with fury.
"Mila, get back away from her… I think she is about to turn." Brady spoke up, lightly taking Mila by the shoulders and moving her to the cell door.
I quickly moved Mila and Brady behind me, just in time for Stacie to burst out of her clothes and transform into a wolf, right before our eyes.
"Oh my, I didn't see this happening." Mila gasped with excitement. "She can turn into a werewolf. Brady, are you able to transform into a wolf as well… to communicate with her."
"I can try." Brady nodded. He moved away from us and began to focus. His body stayed completely still. Time passed by slowly, but nothing happened. Stacie paced the cell. And Brady continued to stand there like a statue.
"I don't think I can transform anymore." Brady said with fear in his eyes. He turned to us with disbelief and sorrow. "I'm not a wolf anymore…"
"That might not be the case… maybe you're just not ready." Mila offered him some comfort.
I could see that Brady was really bothered by all this. Maybe he needed to get some rest. It's been a long day. But we needed someone to communicate with Stacie, I'm not sure she knows how to transform back.
"Hey Seth, get in here, we need you." I called out.
I heard an annoyed sigh, before Seth made an appearance at the cell door. His eyes went straight to Stacie with alarm.
"What the hell is going on in here?" He looked between Mila and I.
"Stacie just had her first transformation. Could you help her out? I don't think she knows how to return to her human form." Mila said opening up the cell door to allow Seth inside.
Seth cautiously walked in, keeping his eyes on Stacie. He walked to the back of the cell and opened up the door to go into the yard. "Come this way Stacie, let's get a breath of fresh air." He said with a small smile.
Mila and I watched as Seth and Stacie exited the cell. I trusted that Seth had everything under control. We should just give them some time out there. I'm sure Stacie would be returning soon, in her human form.
"Let's take a break as well." I suggested, walking Mila out of the cell and to the warden's desk, where Emmett was sitting there, playing with his nintendo switch. He didn't look up from his game as we approached.
"Mila, good to see you." Emmett muttered.
"And you, Emmett." Mila said, avoiding eye contact with him.
Something told me that they had a history.
"I think I'm going to head out to watch Seth work his magic, he might need a hand." Emmett said instantly standing up and walking away from us. He went straight for the cell we just came from and out the back door to the yard.
I turned to Mila with an amused smile. "Okay, what did you do to Emmett? I've never seen him so on edge."
Mila shrugged her shoulders. "We met on the night of his honeymoon with Rosalie. They had a huge fight. He went out hunting. We had been going after the same grizzly bear. Like a gentleman he allowed me to take it. We hunted together all night, got to know each other. And well… we had sex. After that we never saw each other again until several years later. I can only imagine that when he looks at me… he sees the first woman that he ever cheated on his wife with. He feels that guilt."
"Interesting. Did Rosalie ever find out about you?" I wondered.
"Not to my knowledge." She stated without emotion. "It was a meaningless one night stand. It's no reason for her to get upset. Emmett wasn't in love with me. He felt frustrated, unheard and uncared about. He found everything he needed in me… and he showed his appreciation with sex."
"I admire the way you think. You are an incredible woman." I smirked, letting my hand rest on her hip.
She didn't move away to my joy. "If we do this, it will be meaningless. Purely to satisfy our desires. Then we never talk about it again. I don't need or want any commitments from you." She warned.
I could feel my erection pressing against the front of my pants. "That sounds perfect to me." I agreed. My other hand went to her other hip.
With a swift motion I picked her up to have her sit on the warden's desk. Our lips mashed together with fiery passion. I've never felt this way before. Her passion and aggressiveness matched my own. For once, I didn't feel like I was the one in control, she took control from me. She was the one calling the shots. And I allowed it. She took charge of me. Roughly she ripped my pants down, and unbuttoned my shirt.
I slid her pants and undies down just as fast. I couldn't get inside of her fast enough, but once I did; mind blowing pleasure clouded my thoughts. Her warm folds squeezed around my throbbing member and it brought a heavy relief to fall from my shoulders. I pushed in as far as I could before thrusting hard and fast inside her.
We both moaned in delight. She lifted her legs to rest her ankles on the top of my shoulders, allowing me to enter her deeper. I was losing my mind as I was pounding her. The pleasure was out of this world. Nothing I've ever experienced before. It was even better than sex with Bella.
Mila roughing dug her fingers into my back, forcing me down harder into her. "Harder," She growled.
A woman that actually wanted rough sex, she may be the woman of my dreams. She was perfect in every way.
I did as she said and enjoyed hours of her. We could have fucked all night, we managed our tenth orgasm before some shifting in the background caught her attention.
At this point she was on top of me, she had paused in her bouncing to turn around and look behind us.
There standing in the doorway was Elijah.
Oh shit.
